The staff makes this venue worth it. The food is excellent and well prepared. They care for all special diets. The beginning of the process was stress free. The night of the event was wonderful. The setting of this venue is gorgeous! Would highly recommend Boatwerks!

Boatwerks Rehearsal Dinner
We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Boatwerks in the Macatawa Room. We had 38 guests and the room felt spacious - people enjoyed an evening of good food and conversation. The service was excellent, planning the event was easy and the waitstaff and bartender were very attentive the evening of the event.

Wedding Rehearsal Luncheon
We rented the Macatawa room for our son and daughter-in-law's wedding rehearsal. The venue was perfect. The service was excellent. Hannah (our coordinator) was quick to respond to our emails and made sure we had all of the details covered. She made the planning easy.

This venue is beyond beautiful, especially being on the water. I love that most if not all rooms have wonderful views of the water. It adds so much natural light to the rooms as well.
I hosted my sister’s baby shower at Boatwerks, and will always recommend this venue to friends/family. The staff are always so friendly, welcoming, and very helpful! The food/beverage options are always exactly what we are looking for. The shower was absolutely perfect and couldn’t have gone any better.
I’ve hosted 3 events now a at Red Water venues 2 of them at Boatwerks and will continue to be a repeat customer.

Our trade show type event at Boatwerks was perfect! Their event coordinator, Hannah, was extremely detailed oriented and so helpful! She made the experience stress-free and our event couldn't have run smoother. The staff during the event were super attentive, helpful with even the smallest request and took great care of the guests. Shower Perfection
We hosted a baby shower here in the Black River Room and could not have been more pleased! They event planning stage was seamless with Hannah answering all of my many questions. Communication was excellent and on the day-of the event, the staff was incredibly friendly, efficient, and professional. They made me feel relaxed and confident that everything would go well. The food was probably the best brunch I've ever had in my life--and so many of our guests continue to comment on the deliciousness of the food! The presentation of the food was A+ with everything looking gourmet and fresh. The attention to detail displayed by each member of the team is exceptional. We continue to hear from our guests how much they enjoyed the beauty of the room (which is a perfect canvas for whatever decorating plans you may have) and the FOOD! I highly recommend if you're looking to make sure everyone has an outstanding time at your event.

The Wedding of F and M
Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant was an excellent choice for my daughter's wedding lunch. The service we received in planning and on the day of the event was excellent. The food was outstanding. Perfect for the rehearsal dinner
I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking to set up for a reception for a crowd of 30-40. Space was elegant. The food was exceptionally good and we thoroughly enjoyed the view of the lake. Tracey was super easy to work with before the event as well.

Summer Wedding Success
Planning our wedding with Boatwerks made things so easy! Tracey guided us every step of the way and was wonderfully responsive to all of our questions and requests. Not being from the areas, we opted for all vendors that came from Boatwerks' recommended list and they were all fantastic! (Picket Fence Floral, Wendi Curtis Photography, Music Host Entertainment (DJ, ask for Don!)). The Boatwerks venue provided a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor space with a gorgeous view of Lake Macatawa. Our guests enjoyed all the food (and plenty of it), especially the chocolate torte for dessert!

We had a small intimate group of 40 in the Macatawa Room at Boatwerks. We really enjoyed this room and the views it offered, so if you are looking for a more intimate venue, I would suggest Boatwerks! The food was great as well. We got the chicken and steak tips entrees!

Boatwerks was amazing for our wedding on 4/6/24! The sales manager Hannah was fantastic at communicating with us and making sure everything would be set up to the way we wanted it throughout the planning process. The cost was definitely reflected accurately through the service and staff. The staff was very attentive and extremely nice, while the food was amazing. Our guests were raving how fantastic the food was throughout the night. I was not concerned at all throughout the day because I knew Boatwerks had everything under control. Our wedding day was flawless and we are so happy we had our wedding at Boatwerks! I highly recommend Boatwerks to anyone wanting a dream come true wedding!

The BEST place to have your wedding! Boatwerks was an incredible wedding venue. We got married this past weekend and it went off without a hitch. All the employees (Hannah, waitstaff, cooks, bartenders, et al) were all professional and couldn’t say enough about the quality of service they provided.
The venue speaks for itself. Incredible views of the water on your big day! What else is there to say? Hey that rhymes…
There are 2 spots to get drinks (indoor/outdoor) and folding doors to dance in and out. Also outdoor cocktail tables. Drinks were poured well.
The FOOD WAS RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING. We loved the beer and salmon served plates and so did all of our guests. Also loved the potatoes and green beans. The cakes, cupcakes, and gluten free cupcakes were also incredible.
Guys/gals get changing suites and can order drinks to them. Perfect for getting ready close by. Speaking of close by, Kollen park is a stones throw away for gorgeous pictures.

The Perfect Venue - 5 Stars in All Categories
If you love lakes, sunsets, elegance, delicious food, and friendly, responsive staff, then Boatwerks is the place for you! It is nice being at a place that is away from housing/apartments, so the music can play loud into the night. The food was incredible, and they were able to make vegan, dairy-free, peanut-free, etc. accommodations. There are so many food and beverage options to choose from! It's a restaurant, so the food is hot and fresh. The staff has a great attention to detail as well. Hannah responded to all of our many questions. We planned this wedding from across the country (from CA!), and it went as smoothly as if we planned it from MI.

We got married at Boatwerks 10/7 and were beyond thrilled with how the wedding went. Everything we planned for was nearly spot on and made the day go perfectly. Hannah was our event coordinator and Jason was the day of coordinator for the venue. They both were extremely helpful and attentive at making the day go very smooth. The staff was excellent and the food and drinks exceeded our expectations! We keep hearing from our guests that the food was the best they have had at a wedding. Would definitely recommend having a wedding or event here!

The perfect wedding venue!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception outdoors on the patio at Boatwerks. It was not our original plan, but now we wouldn't change a thing! Boatwerks made everything so easy, worked with us for every single change we made (COVID related and not), and it was an absolutely beautiful day! I loved having our small reception at Boatwerks! Due to Covid-19, we were able to have our own tent on the water! The staff was so kind and helpful. We felt very cared for! I highly recommend.

Great choice for a wedding venue!
Boatwerks was such an easy choice for us when choosing a venue for our wedding reception. From the very first meeting Jean and her staff were so responsive to all of our needs and desires for our big day. They were truly flexible in adapting to making things just the way we wanted them to be. Being able to have our dancing outside provided a unique experience for our guests and we often still get so many compliments about how fun the atmosphere was and how great the food was. I would recommend Boatwerks to anyone looking for a wedding venue, you will not be disappointed!

Gorgeous Venue & Delicious Food!
WOW, we had the best wedding reception at Boatwerks last month! The perfect weather made the venue shine with the awesome flow of inside/outside dancing and patio area, the doors opening up to a second outside bar, patio lighting, yard games, and outside fire. We received so many compliments from our guests on the delicious food and gorgeous venue. Jean was great to work with from start to finish, we appreciate all of her help making our wedding day truly special!

Great venue

Beautiful venue with delicious food!
Boatwerks was such an amazing venue and fit in perfectly with the vision we had for our wedding. Everyone there really helped make our day the best possible day, especially as we had inclement weather, they waited until the last possible minute to set up so we could make a decision on the ceremony being outside. We ended up being outside and it was absolutely perfect, just a few sprinkles! Jean added on the Macatawa room since it wasn't booked to make sure our guests had space for the cocktail hour and it ended up being such a great area for everyone to mingle. The food was absolutely amazing, and we received so many compliments on it! This was really important to me as a bit of a foodie, and I didn't want to have bland wedding food, they surpassed my expectations! During dancing, the weather outside was perfect, so the patio doors were opened and the dance floor moved outside, which really made the night perfect! Jean was wonderful to work with, helped answer every question I had, and made sure the day was exactly what we envisioned.

Boatwerks, The perfect wedding venue!
The wedding coordinator, Jean Ellis, was very accommodating and her ease of making arrangements was apparent in her experience. She was very flexible and willing to accommodate all of our requests. The venue was absolutely beautiful with an outdoor wedding Ceremony and transitioning to the indoor banquet room with sliding glass doors that opened up onto the outdoor patio was awesome. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. Everything was done in a timely manner. There was not one mishap! We were extremely happy we chose Boatwerks.

Jean was fantastic from start to finish! The venue itself is gorgeous but we wanted different tables and chairs and she helped coordinate those rentals for us which was extremely helpful. Having her as our coordinator for the venue was such a stress reliever! Hannah the bartender was also fantastic as was the gentleman who was our onsite coordinator for the evening. All of our guests raved about the food, and having the dance floor by the wall of the windows that open onto the patio was perfect once the sun set. The games that were provided for the patio were also great to entertain those guests who aren't as into dancing the night away! Having a venue on the water alongside a park area literally made for the most breathtaking photos. Honestly, you cannot go wrong if you book this venue!

Boatwerks was absolutely wonderful for our reception!! The food - OUTSTANDING!! Jean, the event coordinator, is very on top of it. We were planning our wedding from over 1000 miles away so she made sure we had pictures, questions answered, and anything we needed - she did it. The view really does speak for itself and pictures cannot do it justice. it was just stunning!! I highly recommend Boatwerks, Jean, and the whole team there!!

Such a great experience working with Jean at Boatwerks. My first and only wedding, so I had many questions! Jean handled everything! Gave me great options and shared her expertise in every aspect of the planning process. She always got back to me so quickly! We had the ceremony on the patio and we could not have had a more beautiful venue. Moved to the fabulous ballroom for the reception and took part in amazing food. We got so many compliments, but they should all go to Boatwerks for creating such a perfect experience.

The staff at Boatwerks were amazing. They were very helpful in our planning. At the last minute we needed additional tables and they were able to get what we needed. The serving staff were wonderful. Our post wedding breakfast was off site and they made the space look great and the set everything up so that the guests could move around easily.

My husband and I could not be happier that we chose to host our wedding at Boatwerks Waterfront Restaurant. The staff members were extremely attentive, responsive, and polite. The food was incredible and complimented by the guests over and over! The waterfront view absolutely STUNNING- we were even lucky enough to have a beautiful sunset on our wedding night. The Wedding and Family Event Specialist, Jean Ellis, was wonderful to work with. She was responsive, organized, and creative. Food is phenomenal! so much better than catering in. Also, be sure to pay the extra for the chair covers - makes a big difference in my opinion.

We used Boatwerks for our wedding reception and catering. A lot of our guests were from out of town and, to this day, cannot stop raving about how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful and kind the staff was at Boatwerks! My husband and I got to sneak a peek before everyone got there and everything was set up nicely and they brought us drinks and food before the crowd got crazy. They also provided complimentary valet for all our guests and front row parking for the bridal party. The guests absolutely loved the cornhole, ladder golf, and fire pit that they provided. Boatwerks is wonderful to work with and so accommodating to your needs. Our wedding day (7/16/16) went flawlessly from set up to the end of the night. Their staff is very professional, attentive to guests, and constant clean up but so quick you don't even know they are there. Their patio over looking the lake is amazing and we enjoyed the extra aspect of yard games in addition to the dance floor.

We hosted a bridal shower in the private Macatawa Room with lake views. It is a beautiful setting and we were very pleased with the service , food and set up. Jean E. , the event coordinator, is a gem to work with and very reassuring that all concerns are addressed, prompt with answering calls and emails, detail orientated.We appreciated the hard work and planning that made our event very special.

I highly recommend Boatwerks! My now husband and I were looking for a place to accommodate 100+ people. We found Boatwerks and everything easily fell into place from there. We planned our Michigan wedding from Seattle, and Jean was with us the whole way. Jean was knowledgeable regarding flow of events and recommendations for things that we could do for our special day. Jean and Tom where both present at the rehearsal and during the wedding. Tom drove a golf cart from the Bridal Suite up to Boatwerks for my wedding party and I so that we would not ruin our dresses!!! Jean popped into the Suite and I was getting ready to say hi. Our guests could not get out the view and called it the "wedding of all weddings"!!
You will not regret a wedding at Boatwerks!! :)

Our evening was magical! The room looked fabulous, the food was perfect (lots of compliments) and the atmosphere, games, fire, chairs and of course the weather all made for an unforgettable memory. The Boatwerks service was wonderful. We loved the valet parking and the outdoor hors d' oeuvre set up. We really can't say enough.

We used Boatwerks for our wedding on April 12th, 2014, at Macatawa Legends Country Club. The food is INCREDIBLE (we had pot roast and rosemary pork as the main options for our buffet) and they are so nice and professional. There was some confusion here and there, but that was due to my venue, more than it was from Boatwerks. It all worked out just fine. If you're still unsure, I advise you to at least do a tasting with them. It is SO GOOD. The restaurant itself is beautiful as well.

We had an absolutely phenomenal experience working with Jean and the Boatwerks team in planning our wedding! Our food was delicious, the venue spectacular, and the level of professionalism was on point in regards to communication and working out the finer details of our reception. We would highly recommend!

Super nice for a wedding reception!
We had our wedding reception at Boatwerks. It was super nice and the staff was friendly and the food was good. The only downside was it was a hot day outside and the A/C wasn’t working very well and it was very hot in the room.

A beautiful spot for a wedding!!
The venue was beautiful, and the food and service was excellent. The only problem we encountered was the staff refusing to serve alcohol to a guest of ours for having an out of state ID.

We had the private Macatawa Room reserved for our party of 24. The room had a nice view towards the lake and everything was set up exactly as we expected. The food was very tasty and the service was great!

Great location on the water
We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner at Boatwerks and loved the ambiance. Dinner and dessert were delicious! The weather was perfect, and after we had eaten, we went outside to chat on the waterfront patio, which sets this location apart. We would've benefitted from an additional server, as we ran out of beverages at our beverages station and I had to ask for assistance, but otherwise, we had a nice time at an affordable price point.

Beautiful rehearsal dinner venue
We hosted our son’s rehearsal dinner here in May and had a wonderful experience. The staff was professional and helpful in planning all the details and there was a large variety of menu items to choose from, including gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options. The view of the water is very pretty and the service was great the night of the event.

Perfect waterfront location!
We were looking for a venue that had both indoor and outdoor spaces, a great view for photos, getting ready suites and a place that provided food, bar and dessert (less coordinating the better for us) and Boatwerks had it all and more! 85% of our guests came in from out of town and they were blown away by the beauty of the venue! We had our ceremony there as well as the reception and we were able to have a rehearsal the day before. We are so happy we chose this venue! The dance floor extended outside and there were games on the patio for people to enjoy! It was such a great time and we wouldn’t have changed a thing!

Our wedding
Boatwerks is such a gorgeous venue we fell in love with it instantly when we saw it! While communication was a little tough right before the wedding everything about our wedding day was absolutely perfect! The staff at Boatwerks was so sweet and helpful throughout the day, I am so appreciative of them helping to make our wedding so so special! Boatwerks truly helped make our wedding a dream come true!

Great space for a wedding reception!
I would book this space ASAP if you love water aesthetic, unbeatable indoor/outdoor space, great food and friendly staff! The views at this venue are truly unmatched. I received so many compliments on how accommodating the space was, with both the indoor and outdoor space for guests to dance, talk privately, or grab an additional drink at the outdoor bar (weather permitting of course!). Occasionally the staff I was working with had long email response times, but I also understand that during the summer months they are extremely busy with the height of wedding season. However, the staff always answered by questions to the best of their knowledge and gave me their advice on best food selections, layout, and other details while also listening to my vision and ideas. I never felt like I wasn't valued when speaking to the staff. The food, of course, was also amazing! Being a resident of Holland, I have been to Boatwerks numerous times to have lunch/dinner so I knew the food was going to be up to my standard for my big event. The one caveat to this space was they allow vendors to arrive and set up at 2pm, which was pretty tight for florist, design, etc vendors to come and set up in time before guests arrive. I had to pay additional $ to allow vendors to come early which was a slight bummer. Other than that, I would book this venue again and again esp if you are having your wedding during summer/fall months so you can (hopefully) utilize the outdoor space since that is what truly separates this venue space from others!
