The food was excellent. Especially the tempura asparagus appitizer that we had plated at the table. Doug made a menu around what I wanted. The only thing is the restaurant only holds 100 people max so you would have to have a smaller reception. For us this is what we wanted. -

The Boathouse typically doesn't do weddings, but Doug agreed to having our wedding there (the groom grew up on the lake and the restaurant used to be the general store he would stop at to get snacks). It might have been more expensive when you break it down to per person cost, as it was one flat rate regardless of how many guests you had (up to 100). We had 80 and it was the perfect size. The venue is very intimate and beautiful- no need to bring a bunch of decorations; simple flowers to accent the clean and rustic restaurant.
The Boathouse provided a dessert spread for us, and it was AMAZING!
Even if you're not having a wedding here, look into hiring the Boathouse for a dinner in the vines for a rehearsal dinner- we did that for the groom's brother's wedding a few years ago and the service and food was amazing! -
