Blue Ridge Event Production is amazing!

My husband and I used Blue Ridge Event Production for lighting at our wedding venue, and the team did an incredible job. I knew from my first phone conversation with Joe that I had found an amazing vendor. Joe was kind and professional as he helped me create a lighting plan that met our needs and kept us on budget. It was effortless to work with Blue Ridge Event Production; the entire process was simple and efficient. I highly value clear, timely, effective communication, and that’s exactly what I got from Joe and his team. I can’t say enough good things!

Incredible team and production!

Blue Ridge Event Production was an absolute joy to work with for our wedding. Liz was beyond helpful, responsive, and accommodating to all our requests. They were flexible and easily able to make our vision come to life for our wedding, all at a great price too! Attention to detail!

Blue ridge took our vision perfectly and delivered a beautiful arch in front of the mountains at our venue. They responded timely and executed perfectly. Would highly recommend them to anyone! Thanks guys!

Amazing professionalism

Amazing vendor to work with!

Blue Ridge Event Productions was one of our favorite vendors to work with for our October 2022 wedding! Asher and the entire team were professional, kind, communicative, and extremely helpful in creating the perfect atmosphere for our wedding. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Blue Ridge Event Productions did an incredible job for our wedding! They provided a canopy of string lights for our reception hall, which ended up being one of our very favorite parts of our decorations. The lighting was gorgeous and they were so easy to work with. Very competitively priced compared to other options in the area as well! We fully-heartedly recommend Blue Ridge Event Productions!

Highest Recommendation Possible

My (now!) wife and I used Blue Ridge for lighting during our rehearsal dinner and wedding. The two spaces were very different, and had very different lighting needs. Blue Ridge did an amazing job with both. Their team was professional, courteous, and willing to take extra steps to work with us and develop a lighting plan that fit perfectly with our vision (and budget). They have my highest recommendation.

Beautiful!

The team at Blue Ridge Event Production was professional and very responsive to all of our emails. They provided suggestions as to what would look good at the venue. We were very appreciative that they had previously worked at our venue and provided mock ups of the design set up. Installation was efficient and completed on time. We had bistro lighting installed and it was the perfect addition to our space.

Perfect touches!

The touches we added from Blue Ridge made our day so special! We rented 2 gorgeous wine barrel chandeliers to hang over two farm tables, and two 8' ladders to hang over the head farm table. Both the chandeliers and ladders were adorned with greenery, allowing us to bring the outdoors inside. Blue Ridge also did an amazing job with the up-lighting and washes. Would highly recommend!

Logan Powell is simply the best

If you are reading this and are looking for a wedding planner, look no further! Logan Powell is simply the best!

From the moment we had our first session with Logan, we knew our wedding was going to be an awesome event.

What was immediately obvious to us was Logan’s genuine passion and care for making our day the best it possibly could be. Nothing was too much trouble, no request too crazy, and over the months during the pre-planning, we developed a very special relationship with Logan (one we hope to continue). Logan took all of the stress and worry away to ensure we could enjoy our day as much as possible.

On the day itself, Logan ensured everything ran like clockwork and that a Bold Rock was never too far away. I do honestly believe that without Logan’s help and professional approach we wouldn’t have experienced such a magical occasion to the level she was able to create for us.

We would highly recommend Logan at Blue Ridge Event Productions to anyone thinking about using a wedding planner, and would go so far as to say stop thinking about it and call her now.

Logan made our fairytale come true!!!

Having event experience myself, I knew I was going to be picky in finding someone to take the lead on my big day. Logan Powell is the BEST. I can't say enough about the service she provided. From the very first call, it was clear she takes interest beyond just the job - she became a friend she showed she really cared about us as a couple and making our vision come to life. She was always prompt in responding to emails, made herself available to meet us whenever we were in Charlottesville for site-checks, and so much more. She guided us in selecting vendors and was patient when i couldn't make up my mind :) And on our big day, she handled my nerves like a pro! We LOVED working with Logan and can't recommend her enough.

Blue Ridge was recommended to us by our day of coordinator and we're very happy! They came out to our venue quickly to give us an accurate estimate. They set up early and worked with our historic venue to make sure we would get our security deposit back. Very happy!

Very Responsive and Did a Great Job!

Blue Ridge was recommended to us because they had successfully provided the outdoor lighting as well as audio & microphone equipment and support we needed. They were responsive to my emails, timely with quotes, even made recommendations and suggestions to make it easier for us. We had an indoor backup plan in case of rain and needed it! Blue Ridge was able to create the same lighting setup inside as they would have outside so along with the florist really helped us feel like it was an 'outdoorsy' wedding! Thank you!

We used Blue Ridge Event Production to put bistro lights inside the barn for our wedding reception at Mount Ida Farm, and it turned out exactly as I imagined/pictured for our rustic vintage chic style we were going for. They sent samples of lighting they did at our venues before signing and I also sent them pictures of what I was looking for. It was simple, yet elegant and just enough lighting for a beautiful evening! Very impressed!

Working with Joe Kalksten and his professional team was an absolute joy. The entire Blue Ridge AV and Lighting team take their role in making sure big events look great, sound pleasing, and run smoothly very seriously. Blue Ridge AV & Lighting did an amazing job for my wedding at Pippin Hill Farm. Everyone I dealt with, especially Zach, was professional and helpful! We purchased four beautiful chandeliers to be hung, bistro lights, and they hung four wagon wheels and two ladders that were covered in flowers for us and they provided the sound for the ceremony and reception. The design for the layout of the wheels, ladders and lighting was perfect and the sound worked out great. I would highly recommend them to anyone to use as their vendor. Being an Event Planner myself, if they open a store in the Washington, DC area, I would recommend them for my clients as well. Thank you folks for doing such a wonderful job for our special day, it was a pleasure working with you all!

Nothing but great things to say about Blue Ridge Lighting!!! Our wedding reception was absolutely gorgeous and a lot of it had to do with the amazing lighting. We even asked for a type of lighting that they don't normally do and they went out and found those lights for us so we could have them. Everything was exactly how I pictured it to look and I was so pleased. They always got right back to us whenever we had any questions and were super nice. Our agent was Zach Bravil and he was awesome. I would recommend Blue Ridge Lighting to anyone wanting some quality service!

Wow, they completely transformed our wedding into a fantasy hanging garden. We were married at Pippin Hill, and BRAVL strung cafe bistro lights, 30 lanterns, uplights etc. I was whimsical and enchanting!

I found the team at Blue Ridge AV to be very easy to work with and timely with all requests. We had at first considered tackling much of the AV needs on our own for our ceremony but quickly realized that for this once in a lifetime moment we wanted to feel 100% confident that everything would go smoothly. The team was flexible and gave us a lot of options to meet our budget. The setup and takedown were seamless, and to be honest we hardly even knew they were there it was so smooth. Donnie with Blue Ridge Lighting provided lighting and sound for my daughter's wedding at an outdoor venue in Charlottesville. He was very creative, as well as reasonable. He was always prompt for scheduled meetings and easily accessible when we had questions. The crew who came to set up were very professional and polite. I have 2 more weddings and if they are in Charlottesville, I will definitely use Blue Ridge Lighting!

Joe and his entire team were unbelievably great. I'd recommend them in a heartbeat and look forward to working with them again many times in the future. From the physical setup to the beautiful event design to the above-and-beyond A/V services that Lou and the rest of the team provided, the event simply wouldn't have happened without them. Your entire crew was professional, uber-competent, friendly, supportive, and just complete total badasses the entire night. Special thanks to Lou for really jumping into the mix and serving as our audio engineer for the night, which was not something we foresaw but he stepped up and did an amazing job which really helped our benefit concert go off without a hitch. Blue Ridge AV and Lighting did the most tremendous job with Harvesting Hope, a fundraiser held at King Family Vineyards for the American Cancer Society. Louis had a vision from the start and ran with it. He provided floor plans, detailed proposals with estimates, and met us out there more than once before the event. The set up was perfect, the help during the event was perfect, and I wasn't there for the take down but I'm sure that was perfect, too. The event theme would not have been well played out without your involvement and creativity.

Blue Ridge AV & Lighting were perfect for our wedding. We had them help design and hang lighting and fabric at our event. Alicia was wonderfully accommodating to our budget, suggesting different, and really good ideas to work within our means. She even ensured that set up was on our wedding day since we were having the rehearsal in the same location the night before. All communication during our experience was prompt and professional. And the guys that help set up on our wedding day were absolutely wonderful. Our caterer's movers blew it by delivering tables and chairs to the outdoor reception site...down the mountain...instead of at the reception site. The Blue Ridge AV & Lighting guys actually stayed behind and helped us with their van to move the tables. I recommend this company with full support! They were absolutely fantastic.

Blue Ridge AV & Lighting was so easy to work with! They are friendly, professional, and responsive all the way up to the wedding day. I cannot tell you how many times I changed my mind with what kind of lighting and decorations I wanted for my outdoor wedding and each and every time they were more than happy to accommodate my wishes and update our contract. Last minute, I even asked to add indoor cafe lighting and I cannot say enough, how happy I am. They made the reception look amazing!! We had to change our plans last minute due to rain and they were super flexible in waiting till the very last minute to make the call. I would highly recommend them to anyone who may need AV and/or lighting for any occasion.

I used Blue Ridge Lighting for my July 2015 wedding at Castle Hill Cider. They came highly recommended to me by my wedding planner. We were very impressed with the chandeliers and lighting on the day of the wedding. The light made the whole barn come to life. One huge selling point for Blue Ridge is they have a technician that stays on sight the entire night just in case something were to happen. Although nothing happened at my wedding (that I am aware of!), it was calming to know someone was there to handle one.

BRAVL helped produce an amazing, upscale fundraiser for 250 people in the indoor ring of the horse barn. The lighting and AV elements they suggested and delivered made it feel like we were in the ballroom at the Ritz. They helped transform the space and make our guests feel comfortable. They found solutions to challenging problems and addresses everything in a professional, but fun manner. They have a great team and I wouldn't do an event without them.

Joe and the team at Blue Ridge are the best! They worked tirelessly with us to make our wedding as beautiful as possible while staying within our budget. Bill and the team provided excellent service for our continuing medical education conference in Atlanta... They developed a lighting and A/V plan to capture content from our clinical conference, adapted to last minute changes by presenters and limitations of the venue and schedule, and anticipated and solved the inevitable minor issues calmly and capably. Even with the cost of travel from Charlottesville to Atlanta, they provided better and more extensive service for less expense than if we had used the hotel's in-house A/V staff -- we couldn't be happier!

These folks were awesome to work with! Brian came out to do a venue site-visit per my dad's interest (without even being asked) and worked up an estimate for us. My part-time wedding planner took over things later on, but they were able to work together to plan a beautiful set-up. Blue Ridge did not disappoint the day of the wedding, it was so gorgeous, cozy and romantic, just how we wanted it :)

We are more than pleased with hiring Blue Ridge AV and Lighting! The bistro lights they strung for our wedding turned out beautifully! We never saw them to put them up or take them down so in our world that was perfect. When we showed up everything was done and looked great! We cannot say more wonderful things about this company. We worked with Donny and his team and they created a beautiful venue for our wedding in May 2013. We really wanted to have our wedding at my parents house and in order to do that we had to "create" a venue. We have a large barn type structure and Donny and his team came in and created our dream venue. They draped the walls in fabric, put up amazing cafe lighting, and transformed the space. You never would have known how ugly it was underneath everything they did. They were wonderful throughout the experience and made numerous trips out to us to make sure we had all the necessary power and worked with our other vendors who needed power outlets to ensure everything would go smoothly. They were incredibly professional and friendly and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding!

Blue Ridge Lighting was a great addition to our decor at Pippin Hill. He met us at the venue and came up with a suggested design for lighting and draping. The lighting was everything I wanted it to be. They gave me tons of options and worked with me to figure out how I could get the biggest bang for my buck. The installation staff was amazing and they were prompt and curteous. I never saw the gentleman who stays onsite during the ceremony which was great because that means there were no problems! Lighting really does make a difference and I was happy to have it at the wedding. The pictures and overall feel of the event was enhanced by the lighting. I got married on New Year's Eve so they were also able to arrange confetti at midnight and a countdown clock. Thanks!

I don't think many couples get engaged and think of lighting. But a detail like this can really enhance the mood of a room and how all the other lovely details look to your guests. We worked with Blue Ridge Light Forms for lighting and some minor fabric draping. I was so impressed with the difference their lighting and fabric designs made to the room. The lighting was a subtle glow across the room--far more intimate and romantic than we would have had with the room's regular lighting. And fabric covered the room's fairly intense drapes (pink didn't really go with our color scheme) so that the focus was on the rest of the decor. As a result, all of the beautiful centerpieces and other designs were enhanced.

The team at Blue Ridge was also extremely pleasant to work with. They were professional, explained their styles well, and set up all their equipment perfectly. Throughout the night they adjusted lighting according to mood/event, and it was all seamless. They even sent us a cd with pictures they had taken of the event--a fun surprise after we got back from the honeymoon.

You may not have thought of lighting in your wedding planning, but I'd suggest checking out Blue Right Light Forms. They can really enhance the mood of a room and help focus on all the other beautiful details you have planned.

Blue Ridge made our ceremony absolutely beautiful. We got married at dusk and the lighting was immaculate. They were professional and there wasn't a thing I had to worry about. Only note is that in that we had been set to have an extra mic for my husband and I to use as we read our vows because our rabbi was separately miked. That extra mic was not there during our ceremony but we were able to use the lav mic on our rabbi. She just pulled it off and we held it. I was just expecting that extra mic to be available because we did pay for it, but the sound was fantastic and all was great!

Blue Ridge was especially wonderful with helping me pick out and pinpoint the perfect type of lighting for my event. I went back and forth a few times wonder what type of lighting would work and they presented me with pros and cons and different payment options and even provided me with pictures of the lighting that had done in the same venue I used for my wedding so I could see examples of how exactly the particular lights would work. During the wedding, we hardly noticed the lighting - and I think that's a good thing. It was always appropriate, whether we had toasts or were dancing. The team at Blue Ridge Event Productions was always professional during both the months of preparation and the days leading up to the wedding. Joe Kalkstein and Charlie Emmons were very helpful in answering our questions and giving suggestions for how to maximize our reception space. I hired them for our Pippin Hill wedding and their work really transformed the space and made it feel like something special. I especially loved the pin spot lighting on the table arrangements. We rented sidewalls for use at Pippin Hill. Liz, I believe that was her name, that we dealt with was great!! She was very professional and kind.

Blue Ridge did a nice job ensuring set up was exactly how we wanted. The people were nice and tailored our needs as best they could.

Good Points:
sales exec. person was very helpful, trying to come up with an alternate plan to fit the budget. She responded quickly to my emails and sent me pictures of examples as requested. Owner of the company tried to make amends after problems at event.
Bad points: Crew came a day of wedding not night before as I was told. Guys had a unprofessional attitude, broke several light bulbs installing and venue cleaned up after them. Equipment failed and they had no back up, could not dim lights.
I would recommend because I like the owner but would set more guidelines for the event to avoid these same issues.

The sound production guy missed his cue to start the music after the bride and groom were pronounced husband and wife by the officiant. The team was also late on arrival but were still able to set everything up on time and worked well with the wedding coordinator.

If I could rate ZERO I would. Speaking with Blue Ridge was great. They were prompt in any request I had. However, the product they delivered was absolutely horrible and will ruin every single picture taken at my wedding. Why a large company like this would leave drapery as wrinkled as they did, they should truly be ASHAMED of themselves. The drapery was disgustingly wrinkled. I would NOT suggest or recommend this company to anyone. You better find someone who steams their drapery before placing it as a back drop at your WEDDING. I just truly want to know, when the person/team who installed this drapery turned to look at their work before they left, did they feel good about their work? would they have wanted this left at their wedding? I honestly cannot even believe it, with how BIG Blue Ridge seemed to be. I am truly disappointed. See below pictures for real photos of what was left at my venue and it will be in every picture that was taken.
