If you’re on the fence about hiring a DJ, look no further. Jeff was fantastic to work with. In all honesty, he tied the whole wedding together. He kept us on point, kept us updated with our day of schedule. And most importantly… the dance floor was PACKED. His energy was perfect for the occasion; not cheesy, not over the top, not lacking in energy; just spot on. He knew what to say, when to say it, and how to say it. Not only was the music on point, but so were all the little details my wife and I didn’t even think about. We asked for a mix of country to two step to, party songs, and some wedding classics.
It was like having a family member be our DJ. He made our night so special. Thank you for the help, suggestions, planning tools, etc.

Jeff was fantastic to work with. He was so kind and personable and had great suggestions. He made sure we were prepared, actually over prepared, and he made sure we had all the details figured out for the schedule of the day and he kept us on track during wedding day wonderfully. But I think my favorite part about working with Jeff was his calm presence and the fact that he never seemed rattled, no matter what changed or what came up. I knew he would handle it, which was a great relief on a very chaotic day! Couldn’t ask for better.

From our initial meeting with Jeff through planning and then the day of the event, he was instrumental in contributing to a perfect wedding day. Jeff is fun, extremely detailed, proactive in communication, and a key factor to a successful event. We loved working with him and had so much fun with him.
He also worked well with all of the other vendors that contributed to a memorable event. Jeff also helped to identify and set the tone of music throughout the evening to create wonderful memories. Because he is so thorough in his preparation, we did not worry the day of the event. A 10 out of 10!

Jeff was amazing! We worked with him for a little over a year. He was constantly checking on us making sure all our questions were answered. I never thought picking songs for a wedding would be so hard, but Jeff made it so easy when we would have our zoom meetings. Very Professional and Quality Service
Mr. Burris was a perfect Event Host for our wedding. He was very flexible when it came to what we wanted for our ceremony and reception. He was also a huge benefit in helping us plan the wedding; he did so by bringing up things we had not considered and also brought a new perspective that helped my wife and I when it came to deciding on microphones and recording for our wedding video. Throughout the planning process, Mr. Burris met with us regularly to discuss our plans, and directly communicated with ourselves, family, wedding coordinator, and all of the vendors involved in our ceremony.
During the ceremony, Mr. Burris was punctual, dependable and professional. He arrived to the venue early and set up all equipment without delay. Our ceremony was carried out without audio difficulties and the reception had a great atmosphere thanks to his efforts. We wholeheartedly recommend Black Tie Sounds to everyone looking for a dependable host and DJ for their wedding!

More than just a DJ
Jeff is so much more than just a DJ. The DJ is probably THE most important person for your reception. Jeff met with us multiple times prior to the wedding day to make sure he understood the exact timeline for both the ceremony and the reception. He always builds redundancy into his setup so there is never a hiccup in real time. Jeff also custom curates a song list for each wedding based on what you tell him about your music preferences. The songs he played at our reception definitely kept the energy up and had people dancing all night. At the beginning of the reception, he kept the first dances, cake cutting, and toasts on-schedule. He is a top notch wedding DJ. If you can manage to book him, you will be more than pleased with your ceremony/reception experience

The best DJ!
Jeff was the best DJ! He wants to make sure that the music at your wedding is the music YOU want. You can request any song you want and give the option for people to be able to request music at the wedding or not. He can split up or cut to a part of a song that you want for your day (i.e. first dance, walkout song, etc.). He has a website were you can spend time up to the wedding adding songs for specific parts of the wedding (cocktail hour, ceremony, dinner, etc.). If there isn't a song in his catalog, he can download it and add it easily! We paid for the ceremony hour as well and Jeff was able to have equipment in the chapel, the dinning hall, and the dance outside. We also liked how he wasn't a part of a big DJ company. Overall, a great and easy experience that we would easily do again!

One word= fantastic!
Jeff was incredible from day one! We had started out planning our wedding for 3/12/22, Covid came and we had to take a different route by postponing until 5/6/23, but Jeff never skipped a beat for us! Thankfully he was available for our May date and I could not have envisioned a better DJ. We met several times to go over wedding specifics, and all the way up to our final meeting I felt 100% confident every single time with him. Our ceremony music was beyond "on point"- Jeff knew exactly when to start which songs, perfectly faded in and out, and it continued all the way throughout the reception. He never once allowed there to be a silent, awkward, moment and kept the guests on their feet and everyone happy and vibrant! It didn't end at the music though, his uplighting made the night even better with the mood corresponding perfectly with the songs. Aside from the wonderful service we received, Jeff would reach out throughout the year checking in on us and our wedding plans. I could tell from the very first meeting he was not only a great DJ, he was an all-around great person! Again, I couldn't envision a better DJ and I will forever recommend Jeff for any event; if I could rate larger than a 10/10, I definitely would!!

If I could choose the one thing that made our wedding such a success, it would be our amazing DJ, Jeff Burris of Black Tie Sounds. When we first met with Jeff, we immediately knew we had made the right choice. He understood the tone we wanted to set for the wedding and reception and helped guide us through the planning process. Jeff was always responsive whenever we had questions and was eager to assist in any way. I was particularly impressed with his organization, attention to detail, and preparedness for any problem that might possibly occur. He gave us suggestions whenever needed and was in tune with everything we were trying to accomplish. Jeff doesn’t just play music. He is a wonderful master of ceremonies, so personable and genuine, and set the tone for a relaxing and fun evening for all. Young and old alike spent the evening on the dance floor and several guests not known for their dancing surprised us all when they were still on the dance floor at the reception’s end.
There aren’t enough superlatives to describe our experience with Black Tie. If you want to make your special day even more special, Jeff is your man. I guarantee you won’t regret it!

Jeff is a hero!
Jeff was a fantastic and professional DJ. He came in as a last minute (3 days before the wedding!) substitute for our original DJ who tested positive for COVID. To the credit of both him and the original DJ, everything went off without a hitch. Jeff stepped up to the plate with professionalism and was very respectful of what we had originally planned and even sanitized the microphone that we used at the reception for speeches from the Best Man and Matron Of Honor. It's amazing how seamlessly things happened with only 3 days notice. He took the initiative and talked to my venue for me about things to help him get things done quickly on his end, so I didn't have to worry about anything. I can't recommend Jeff highly enough. If he did such an amazing job on 3 days notice, imagine if he had more time!

Best DJ Ever!
Jeff was absolutely AMAZING! He was so professional, and made our day so much fun and very special. He was easy to work with, and was really open to customizing our day to fit us. He even wrote our a personalized “love story” to read out at the reception before our entrance. Really a top notch guy, and very very worth it!

Jeff was absolutely amazing! His communication is phenomenal and he is alway so quick to respond to emails with questions. He was truly the leader of our wedding and he made our reception and cocktail hour a breeze. We was well prepared and knew exactly what he was doing. Jeff is amazing! Super friendly and professional. He does a great job listening to the client and what they are wanting. One of my favorite things is that he doesn't have the music crazy loud during cocktail hour and dinner so you're able to talk to people and enjoy that time without trying to yell at everyone lol He also doesn't try to take over and make it "his show" which I really appreciate! You definitely need Jeff to DJ your wedding!

The BEST Experience with a DJ
My bridesmaid found Black Tie Sounds for us and set up a meeting with Jeff! In the first meeting Jeff was knowable and did not make us feel like we had to rush our decision right away. Once we booked Black Tie Sounds he provided all the forms and music library to us to build what we wanted! Every time we had a question he got back to us right away! Leading up to the wedding COVID hit and we were unsure if we were going to be able to have it. Jeff was supported and was willing to reschedule if needed! Thankful we were able to have our wedding on the date we wanted. The day of the wedding I asked if we could change a couple of things regarding the ceremony and he made it work!! Transitions flowed so nicely and Jeff provided much more than we expected. My parents were thrilled that we had such a great vendor for music! I highly, HIGHLY recommend Black Tie Sounds for any event. You will NOT be disappointed! Thank you Jeff for everything!!

Black Tie Sounds is THE Best!
DJ Jeff Burris exceeded our expectations in so many ways on our wedding day. Jeff was our wedding DJ during the summer of 2020 while so many things were unknown. Still, Jeff was so clear and prepared for every aspect of his job and was the best and most responsive communicator out of almost every vendor we had. He is so easy to talk to and understands your wedding is your day, he doesn't want to overshadow any of us, but he made it the best possible day where our guests could celebrate us so well. He was prepared from having all the music downloaded beforehand but also knowing the mood of the crowd, to knowing each detail and timing of every important song played, to trying to match ties with our wedding colors, to keeping the ball rolling at our event and making everything run as smoothly as possible. Whether you are very detail oriented like me or you want to leave it up to the DJ for every song, Jeff is your guy! If you live in DFW you have found your DJ!!!

We love Black Tie Sounds!
I found Black Tie Sounds after attending another wedding, and automatically knew I wanted Jeff to be our DJ. He was extremely professional, could read the crowd well, and truly enhanced the wedding by his skills and professionalism! He helped answer any questions I had about timing, song choices, order of events during the reception, etc. that most people probably already have figured out before they come to their DJ. He kept in touch with us and made sure we didn't have any questions or need any assistance throughout the planning process. The day of the wedding, he arrived a few hours early, making sure everything was completely set up. We were stress free on our wedding day because of him!

Nerve Calming Experience
While planning our wedding one of the worst feelings was not knowing exactly how everything was supposed to come together and seem organized. Upon the first meeting with Jeff he quickly calmed a lot of the nerves I had by showing my wife and I how organized he had his schedule of events and how easy that made it. I would definitely recommend Jeff for those who feel in over their heads or even the most organized people because he will be up to date with what you need!

Perfect DJ for our wedding of 130 guests!
Jeff at Black Tie Sounds is a WINNER! He made the ceremony and reception run so smoothly. He worked well with my wedding coordinator, not skipping a beat so I didn't have to worry about anything! All the guests LOVED his music and style. The biggest compliment came from my brother (who was in the wedding so I didn't want him working) but has been a DJ for 25 plus years. Best event dj ever!
Jeff was absolutely OUTSTANDING as our DJ of the night! On our crazy day big day, Jeff was one of the first ones there to set-up and make sure everything was going as planned, he communicated with us through out the night and was an absolute professional! When things didn't go as planned, Jeff was there, on the fly, to make any adjustments that needed to be made. We received a ton of compliments of how fantastic he was and how he kept the right type of music going to keep the dance floor going. Jeff was on top of things from first contact (about ten months prior to our wedding) until the time we made our grand exit at the conclusion of the wedding. He was easy to contact and responded back immediately to our questions. Jeff is organized and wants to make sure his customers are at ease when the big day comes. We were not sure about a couple songs for certain parts of the wedding and Jeff helped us find what we were looking for. Guests always new what was going on which is not always the case at some weddings I have been at in the past. I strongly recommend Black Tie Sounds and will encourage my friends to use them when it is their time to get married!

There’s a reason Jeff has received so many awards. I’m so happy that we were able to book him for our wedding. He played every song we asked for and avoided songs we didn’t want played. The perfect DJ for our wedding
Jeff DJ'd our wedding on 11/10/18, and we recommend him unconditionally. If you are looking for someone who is professional and will work with you every step of the way to deliver EXACTLY what you want, Jeff is the right choice. Our experience from start to finish was wonderful.
We really loved Jeff's online portal that not only lays out EVERY stage / detail of the event, but also allows you to customize as much or as little as you want. Jeff was also great along the way with reminding us of important deadlines and answering our non-stop questions. We planned our wedding from out of town, and Jeff made himself available on short notice a few times to meet, and was kind enough to FaceTime with us for our final planning meeting.
At the event, Jeff executed the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception flawlessly. He even made a few suggestions for us throughout the night as he got to know our guests, and came up with a brilliant idea for a last song that our guests raved about. He also supplied up lights which gave the dance floor an irresistible aura. He had our party rocking!
It was a pleasure working with Jeff, and he made everything so easy for us. Professional, personable, detail-oriented, knowledgeable, dependable, flexible. He makes sure all the bases are covered, but never loses sight of the fact that it is YOUR night.

If I could give Black Tie Sounds & Jeff Burris 15 STARS I would. WOW WOW WOW. If you are looking for the MOST AMAZING DJ for your wedding night THIS IS YOUR GUY! He was professional from start to finish. We were able to meet with him before hiring him and he even drove all the way out to where we live. He gave us SO many pointers at the 1st meeting and you could tell he really loves what he does :) and takes care of his clients. He also took time to drive out to meet us again a week before the wedding. He was so kind and flexible and worked around our schedule. He made a cut of music for our 1st dance song combining American, Latin, & Greek music together and it was perfect!!! He spent a ton of time finding the Greek songs that I had requested which I really really appreciated. He kept the timeline of our wedding going and remembered all the tiny details I asked him to :))) The wedding guests were on the dance floor the entire night! He was the reason my reception was so much fun and made it a night to remember. I could go on and on and on about this DJ. Did I mention he is SUPER AFFORDABLE! The online portal that was provided was easy to navigate and helped the planning process move along smoothly. My husband and I are so glad that a friend recommended Jeff. We were confident from the start that Jeff would be a great fit for us. Based on how Jeff handled the initial meeting, we were confident he'd be extremely responsive and would make sure we had the discussions / made the decisions to have the reception we wanted. It felt great to know we'd go in to the wedding with no surprises b/c Jeff had made sure we were all on the same page. He also had great suggestions for how to plan the ceremony and reception.
Now to the fun part - the reception! Jeff was great. All of our friends stayed until the end just dancing and having a wonderful time. The song choice fit the crowd and he listened to and played guest requests so that everyone could enjoy themselves.

Jeff was amazing! He went above and beyond for us before and during our wedding day. He provided uplighting (much less expensive then our venue could provide) ceremony sound and music, and MC'ed our reception and played great music to dance to. We got married at the quiet pool at the Fort Worth water gardens and our reception was across the street at the Omni in one of their ballrooms. He provided everything we needed flawlessly. I would recommend him to anyone that needs a DJ.

I seriously cannot rate DJ Jeff from Black Tie Sounds high enough! From the first planning meeting to the last, my husband and I felt completely at ease with our wedding entertainment in his hands. He took the time to really get to know us in order to make sure that our reception was “us.”
In talking about our wedding afterwards, we have said numerous times how Jeff was our absolute favorite vendor. He made last minute and day of changes flawlessly, put up with all our crazy friends on the dancefloor and made our reception the absolute most fun time ever. Seriously. Jeff at Black Tie Sounds was everything we wanted in a DJ for our wedding and more. One thing that was really important to us was having a classy event that wasn’t overly MC’d. Jeff did that but still ensured our guests were aware of what was going on, they were having fun, and he kept us right on schedule even when we decided to change it on the fly. We kept with the style of music that we wanted and ensured we were happy first and our guests second. He made sure we ate, had water to drink while we were taking pictures and ensured I had time to freshen up my makeup before we had pictures during the cake cutting. Jeff also suggested a final private dance before our send off which was so nice for my husband and me to share some private time and reflect on the day. I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone looking for a DJ for a wedding or any event that needs entertainment.

Jeff DJ'd our wedding last month. I had to hire him without being able to meet him as it was an out of state wedding for us. He made time to answer all my questions over the phone and then met with us when we were in town to go over all our music. We were really particular with our music and wanted to hand pick every song that was played at our wedding. Jeff let us do that and stuck to our music and managed everything perfectly. He also did our ceremony music and handeled it like a champ when I (the bride) was 30 minutes late for my own wedding! Can't recommend him enough!!

Jeff was an incredible DJ at our wedding a few weekends ago! He did a really good job of making sure everything was on schedule and everyone at the reception knew about the night's events. He stuck to our playlist, and all of the music flowed very well. He was very professional and genuine during our conversations and meetings prior to the wedding, and we knew exactly what to expect going into the ceremony. His website to add songs, special requests, etc. was very easy to use. We wouldn't have had the perfect reception that we did without Jeff serving as the DJ! 5 stars - highly recommend!

Jeff was great through the entire process. He was always asking the right questions and was genuinely interested in giving us the best everything. The wedding went very well, we had people asking who our DJ was, and we have been recommending him ever since. He has the ideal personality for what he does. One of the things he did that showed us that he genuinely wanted our big day to special was a handshake and a hug at the end of the night. Great guy, and my wife and I would HIGHLY recommend him.

Jeff is so much more than a DJ and I can’t say enough amazing things about him! He and my day of coordinator Lovebird Lane Events worked SO CLOSELY and I really think it made a huge difference! Jeff was always available to talk, answer questions, and attend meetings with myself and my coordinator. He attended my first planning meeting with my coordinator and he even drove all the way out to our venue to do a walk through with us! He is SO quick to respond! I don’t think it ever took him more than 2 minutes to respond to an email, and I sent him SEVERAL! I was constantly updating my playlists for cocktail hour and dinner. Let’s talk about music too! My guests were all RAVING about his song selection during the reception. He really figured out what my guests liked to dance to and he kept the dance floor PACKED! Several of my guests said it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to and I know that Jeff was the reason.

Jeff was amazing! I cannot say enough good things about him. He was so flexible and made sure everything went off without a hitch. And I swear it was the best music at a wedding ever, the dance floor was full all night long! He will also have your back on MC'ing, making sure there aren't any unscheduled speeches, and has a do not play list for those of us who just can't handle the chicken dance one more time. Fantastic job!

We are SO incredibly happy we hired Jeff! Everyone just had a phenomenal time at our reception, and we have the pictures to prove it. He definitely listened to us in our music tastes. We're both into punk and metal, but we knew we had to have music that wouldn't make Grandma pass out, and Jeff nailed it. He also threw in a couple Disney songs since we went to Disney World for our honeymoon, and the Time Warp since our wedding was close to Halloween! If you want a quality DJ who can read a crowd and keep the party going, look no further than Jeff Burris and Black Tie Sounds.

I couldn’t have picked a better Dj!! I researched dofferenr companies for hours and decided to meet with Jeff and I am so thankful I did. On top of being a genuine, great guy, he is extremely punctual, organzied and 100% knows this business inside and out. The level of organization and attention to detail he provided was outstanding. There wasn’t one area of our wedding that wasn’t covered. The day of everything was perfect. The uplighting, monogram, music, everything. He even helped me with things that weren’t DJ related and did it with no hesitation. If you are looking for someone to go above and beyond for your day then this is your guy!!

Jeff Burris is a great choice to DJ a wedding. He's a very genuine, calming person, and there is nothing cheesy or cheap about him. He has a very nice speaking voice. He made sure that all our requests were met, he took care of things that it wasn't even really his job to worry about, and he made the time line of the wedding run smoothly. And he does all of those things at a very reasonable price. We had the lowest cost package he offers, and he made sure the event was very fun and memorable for everyone. Also, his computer set up for how you can select songs and create playlists for him for the wedding is super user friendly and comprehensive for picking music for various parts of the wedding.

DJ Jeff Burris with Black Tie Sounds did a great job at our wedding. He had everyone at our reception -- both young and young at heart -- dancing to great music that could be heard easily on both an indoor and outdoor dance floor. He also provided the sound equipment for our ceremony, and it all went off without a hitch. The planning sessions and documents he organized ahead of time were super helpful and made the process pretty stress free. Honestly, his planning documents were really helpful even beyond the music -- helping us consider our run of show and countless other details we hadn't even thought of. Jeff was also super responsive -- I had no trouble getting in touch with him at any point in the planning process. Not to mention that he was there early to set up on the day of! I would definitely recommend Black Tie Sounds.

Jeff was SO great to work with! He was incredibly organized - he walked us through decisions we didn't even know we needed to make! We had a general idea of the music we wanted played during the reception, but Jeff did an amazing job reading the dance floor and keeping it packed ALL night! Jeff won us over pretty quickly as one of our favorite vendors at our very first meeting. He drove all the way to us to meet, was very straightforward about his services, and knew all the important questions to ask. We also really liked that it never appeared that he was trying to sell us anything. He truly wanted us to find the best fit for our wedding day.
And he was it! Jeff was organized, on time, professional, and did a really great job with the music! He took requests and really played to his audience. Our dance floor was occupied for the whole reception! He also coordinated our music for our ceremony, and mic'd up our officiant and singer; my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing.
I would highly recommend Black Tie Sounds to anyone!!

Thanks to a recommendation, we used Black Tie Sounds for our wedding and reception and couldn't be happier! My husband and I married last winter, and people are still telling me how much they enjoyed our wedding and reception! They really loved the music and the lighting that Jeff provided! Jeff went far above and beyond during the whole wedding planning and on the big day itself! It was truly a blessing to have him there because without his coordination with everyone, the day would not have been nearly as successful! We are so thankful that our family friend recommended him because he is a big reason everything went so seamlessly on our wedding day! Just for a brief idea, we held our wedding and reception at the same place but the events started early afternoon and went until my husband and I made our formal exit around at the earliest 11:00 pm that night. Needless to say, it was a long event and thanks to Jeff, he kept the transition from the wedding, to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, to the reception so flawless! We were amazed how easy everything seemed thanks to his amazing planning and skills to work and coordinate with everyone involved!

We never knew how important a DJ is to a wedding venue until we hired Jeff! It's so much more than "just playing the music". From the rehearsal the day prior, to our private last dance, Jeff coordinated and directed everything perfectly the way we wanted. He took so much stress off of us and handled the ceremony starting 30 minutes late, to the timing of the music as we walked down the aisle, to the direction and flow of the reception throughout the night. He was a huge part of our day and he made the memory of it perfect. He has an extensive event planning program but it was well worth the time that is put into it to have everything you want. Jeff shows the meticulous art to being a dj and makes the whole event come together. He's great at his profession and we highly recommend him.
