Black Rock Country Club Reviews

It has been just over two months since my wedding at Black Rock Country Club, and to say it was everything we had dreamed of is an understatement. From start to finish, the venue was beautiful, the staff was absolutely wonderful (more on that later), and I did not have to worry about a single thing. My entire family has not stopped talking about what a great time they had. From the planning process to the day itself, I felt so cared for and guided, especially as someone who is not particularly adept at planning large-scale events. I also want to specifically highlight the staff, because they were crucial in making sure our day ran without a hitch. My husband and I did not have to think about a thing the entire day, which was a blessing because I was completely thought out by that point!

A few things really stood out and made it feel like they genuinely cared:
Immediately after the ceremony, the staff kept us in a room just off the main hallway, made sure we both had drinks in hand, and delivered two orders of our passed hors d'oeuvres, which were unbelievably tasty (actually, every piece of food we got was insanely good; the chef and kitchen staff absolutely crushed it). We got a moment to let it all sink in and actually got to eat, which turned out to be critical, because as soon as we left that room we did nothing but greet guests and take photos. That moment alone was incredible. We hadn't seen each other all day until our first look, and getting to just sit there together was perfect. Another way the staff showed they cared was in how my husband and I were served at our sweetheart table. They were constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Grace even made sure we had a few slices of cake set aside to take back to the hotel, and I never had to ask for a thing.

I also cannot complete this review without mentioning Victoria by name. She is Black Rock's amazing wedding specialist and was absolutely crucial to making the whole day come together. She took charge and ran everything perfectly, and I would not have had any idea what I was doing without her expertise. She also, quite literally, saved my wedding day. I was wearing a big ballgown, and once we bustled it, the added weight caused the boning in the bodice to dig into my skin, right before we were introduced for the reception. I started to panic, wondering how I would dance the rest of the night in pain, but I had nothing to fear. Victoria swooped in and fixed everything, and I felt completely fine for the rest of the evening. My family members, not just those in the bridal party but guests as well, pointed her out multiple times throughout the night for her help and professionalism. I cannot say enough good things about her.

All in all, I could go on and on about how amazing our day was but I have to stop somewhere. I highly recommend Black Rock Country Club to anyone who is planning a wedding!!

Our wedding venue search stopped at Black Rock Country Club. The moment we saw the reception area and the cocktail patio we were sold. We loved working with Tricia, she was amazing and she was very detail oriented. She always asked to help us in any ways. Not only that, you get to ride on one of the golf carts to and from the ceremony site. We will recommend Black Rock country club to all our friends and families.

We got married at Black Rock Country Club on June 7, 2025, and it was everything we could’ve hoped for, even with a full day of rain, thunder, and lightning.

The venue is absolutely beautiful with big windows, beautiful cobblestone, and a great mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. One of the things we loved most was that they only host one wedding per weekend, which really made us feel like a priority.

From the start, the team was responsive and helpful throughout the entire planning process. Our original coordinator left a few months before the wedding, which was a little nerve-wracking, but Tricia stepped in and was absolutely amazing. She took the time to listen to us and made sure we felt supported the whole way through.

The food was also a huge highlight. Since Black Rock is a country club restaurant first, the meals were delicious. We had so many guests tell us how much they enjoyed their dinner, which doesn’t always happen at weddings.

And even though the weather didn’t cooperate, the team handled it all so smoothly. They made sure the day still felt perfect, and we honestly wouldn’t change a thing.

We’re so grateful to Tricia and the entire team at Black Rock. Highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married!

We had our wedding at Black Rock Country Club and could not be happier with our experience. From start to finish, the team went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests and make sure everything was absolutely perfect. The venue itself is stunning — beautifully maintained and the perfect backdrop for such a special day. The food was delicious, and every single staff member we interacted with was friendly, professional, and more than willing to go the extra mile to make our day unforgettable. Black Rock was such an amazing venue for our wedding. It was incredibly beautiful and affordable for our size wedding! Tricia the lead Wedding Specialist there and her team went above and beyond for us all throughout the wedding planning process through the actual evening of our wedding. They offered day of coordination, decor set up, and vendor communication and scheduling all included for us! It was such a beautiful experience, Tricia and her team are the people you want in your corner on your big day! They are cool, calm and collected whilst making your every whim a reality. I could not recommend Black Rock or their team enough! Best day of our lives hands down!!

We had an absolutely incredible experience getting married at Black Rock Country Club! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. Tricia, our wedding coordinator, was excellent! Her attention to detail and upbeat attitude made the entire planning process stress-free and enjoyable.

The food and drinks were awesome, the ambiance was stunning, and the venue offered countless beautiful backdrops for photos. Even with a bit of rain on our wedding day, we were still able to capture amazing outdoor pictures.

We had the best experience with Black Rock for our wedding. This is a gorgeous venue and the food is amazing. They were super easy to work with and the coordinator Tricia is amazing. Our guests are still talking about how much they loved our wedding! We had a personal food tasting which was perfect to pick the best meals. We found there packages affordable and a great value for the amount you were getting.

Our wedding was in Fall 2024 at Black Rock Country Club, and it was the best decision we made! From start to finish, everyone there was amazing to work with, especially Erin. She made the whole planning process a breeze, answering all of our questions and helping us every step of the way. On the big day, everything ran so smoothly thanks to Erin and the rest of the team. They were incredibly attentive, always checking in with us to see if we needed anything and making sure everything was just as we envisioned. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and wouldn't have wanted our wedding to be anywhere else!

We had an amazing experience from the staff and management. They really helped make our day special, they were always their to accommodate and help make the day go smoothly and joyful! I thank them again and highly recommend. Also everyone loved the food, the chef and kitchen staff were great!

Everything about Black Rock was amazing! From first touring the venue with Erin F. and everything after that with Erin S. - everything was great. Erin S. was so responsive and answered any and all questions I had! She was so amazing to work with and so helpful in the planning process.

Our wedding day went so smooth all thanks to the team at Black Rock. The way they set up our decor was exactly how we wanted it, they paid attention to every little detail and made it all look perfect! When it came to the organization of the ceremony, Erin S. & Erin F. were all over it, everything went smoothly from start to finish. Our day of attendant, Grace, was also fantastic! She made sure my husband and I were taken care of all night long.

From the beautiful views, delicious food and professional & wonderful staff - I cannot recommend Black Rock enough!

Our wedding at Black Rock Country Club was a complete dream come true. From the moment we toured the venue through the end of the night, we couldn’t have asked for anything more from the staff or the space. Erin was the easiest and most thorough planner to work with. Every question was answered promptly and thoughtfully. As a very Type-A bride, her patience and attentiveness was extremely appreciated! Come the wedding day, the grounds and the space were pristine. Erin checked in to make sure we had everything we needed and it all truly went off without a hitch. We are SO grateful for Black Rock and the staff who helped build the perfect setting for our perfect day. Thank you!!

5 stars, 10/10, A+, every highest rating we can give the folks at BRCC who made our wedding day on 7/6/24 so perfect! As someone who doesn't particularly like planning, I ended up having so much fun planning the wedding with the help of the amazing Erin Smith Roberts. From the initial inquiry to final details on event day, Erin was just a joy to work with and made the planning process seamless. She is so responsive and didn't leave us with any unanswered questions! Some highlights for us: 1. Outdoor, covered ceremony space and cocktail hour deck, which make it possible to still have events outside in case of inclement weather. 2. THE FOOD! Our personal favorites were the grilled cheese and tomato shooters at cocktail hour, and the cod during dinner. 3. The tasting was a blast. Private tasting that we brought our parents too. 4. Extremely accommodating for specific requests and guest needs. Highly impressed by their ability to also serve delicious meal options for those with food sensitivities/allergies. 5. Day-of coordination (we had a team of Erin, Erin, and Abby) to seamlessly wrangle 160 guests throughout different spaces. 6. Great recommended vendors. 7. Ability to have a cigar bar, and sparkler exit. I cannot recommend BRCC enough- such a joyful wedding planning process, and wedding day, through and through!

I got married at Black Rock Country Club on June 8th and it was a dream! The venue itself is beautiful and the outdoor space really makes for a beautiful spot for a wedding. But the staff here take this venue over the top! I can't say enough about how incredible they all were. From the coordinators, to the staff serving dinner, the bar tenders, they were all incredible. I worked with Erin Smith Roberts leading up to my wedding, and she is a gem! She is quick to respond to emails and answers all questions you may have in a very timely manner. The week of my wedding she responded to an email on her day off which was above and beyond my expectations. I can't say enough about Erin, I didn't have any stress or worry leading up to my wedding because I knew she had taken care of every little detail! The day of my wedding Erin Farrell and Grace were on site, and again, I can't say enough about how incredible they both were! Everything ran so smooth because of them. Every time I turned around one of them was there asking if I needed anything! They were both amazing and the room looked incredible the way they set it up! The bar tenders and staff serving food were also great, they were all so pleasant and kind to us and our family and friends. They all went above and beyond and the day was a dream. My family is still talking about how wondering everyone was and how beautiful the venue is. It was exactly what we wanted and we can't thank them enough!

Black Rock Country Club, or shall I say Erin Smith Roberts, is literally the fastest and most thorough communicator I have come across. As a past event planner and current project manager myself, I really appreciated Erin's quick responses and detailed answers to my many... MANY questions. I left no stone unturned, lol. I would hire her in an instant if I had my own event planning business. Seriously incredibly fast at communicating (would email me late at night!) and so professional.

The venue itself was absolutely beautiful and shockingly affordable compared to other venues I looked at in Halifax, Canton, Stoughton, Plymouth, Hanson, etc. (essentially all over the South Shore). It had a lot to due with the fact that we chose the first tier package and also chose a Friday wedding - those two decisions saved us thousands of dollars that we could use elsewhere. I am very happy with how we budgeted for this and how impressive the venue looked.

I will admit that our own pet peeve was that our drinks were forgotten when our server took our drink order during our picture taking, as well as our food was taken early (I assume it's because the dining room was closing out at this point, but I had specifically asked to not touch my food since I was saving it), so it was a huge bummer I didn't get to finish my salmon. The only other bummer is that you can't take pictures on the walkway where the golf carts drive (makes sense), but it would have been super cute.

The food here was literally incredible, best wedding food I've had. All of my guests were impressed with it - and I can tell they were not just saying it. They voluntarily would tell us how much they liked the food.

What was really cool about this venue is that we got to visit it however many times we wanted, including with our photographer. We also got to set up a little the day before (I was allowed to put my parents' place cards in specific seats where they could get a clear view of the dancefloor and the sweetheart table since they were at opposite sides of the ballroom). It was also great to practice our first dance while we were there dropping decor off the day before.

We would definitely choose Black Rock Country Club all over again if we had the chance to relive our wedding day.

We wanted to send the whole Black Rock team the BIGGEST thank you! From the moment we reached out to inquire about hosting our reception, we felt like the team had every little thing under control and that they were going to execute our vision without any issues, even making it better in some instances 😊. This was particularly apparent day of - neither myself or the groom felt like we had to worry about things getting done, so we could really just take in the day with each other and our loved ones. The whole staff was amazing!! Every single person we came across at black rock was friendly, kind, and on top of things. From the moment we walked in the door the team made sure we were taken care of, providing recommendations to make sure the night kept running smoothly, even making sure we took time to eat and drink (which we probably would have forgotten to do without them). We could not have asked for a better day, and the Black Rock team is a huge reason behind that so again THANK YOU ALL!!!

We could not say enough amazing things about Black Rock country club and their staff! We got married on what was supposed to be a hurricane day back in September, Erin assured me that we would make everything I envisioned still work regardless of the weather! She was amazing to work with throughout the entire planning process. Prompt with responses and extremely helpful with whatever questions or concerns that came up. Black Rock will forever hold a special place in our hearts and we are so happy we chose them to host our wedding!

Imagine hosting a 180 person wedding from out of state! That is what I had to do for my daughter who wanted to be wed in Boston. Once the shock abated, my daughter suggested we look into Black Rock Country Club which had great reviews on wedding websites including Wedding Wire. To be honest, the reviews were so good, I wondered if they were real!
I cannot articulate just how wonderful Erin and the entire staff were. They helped keep all the details in order. I always felt I was their only customer.
The reception was simply perfect. The food was delicious—and the few guests that had dietary restrictions were well taken care of.

Of the 180 guests, 170 of them were from out of state. They all raved at the beautiful venue and the incredible service.
I cannot recommend BRCC more highly. I hope to plan a more intimate affair when the time comes to celebrate baby news! We will definitely return.

I want to say how much I appreciated and am thankful for the entire support from the day my daughter and her fiancé secured Blackrock Country Club as their wedding venue, up to the "crazy" day of, and even after with my constant questions. Erin was always in constant communication with us, took care of every need that we discussed, and of course anticipated issues and was proactive with all our wedding needs. What I am most impressed about was her calming people skills – even in the most trying of times during a rainy day. Her demeanor kept all of us confident that things were going to be beautiful and still to our liking and desires despite what the day was going to throw at us. She was on top of every little thing that needed to get accomplished – which was very reassuring to me since this was first child getting married.

We had the best experience at Black rock country club! The most smoothest and easiest process. I was never stressed working with BRCC. Our wedding coordinator Erin, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She literally made our dreams come true. We had so many people come up to us and tell us that this was the best wedding they ever been too. Would get married all over again just to work with Erin and BRCC.

Black Rock Country Club is amazing. My now husband and I couldn’t imagine another location for our special day! The whole staff was very friendly and accommodating. Erin R., the event coordinator, was always very helpful and guided us with any questions we had. Nikki - the head attendant, Grace - the wedding day coordinator, and Erin F. - the wedding assistant helped us run all the logistics on the event day. They also ensured everything set up properly and ran smoothly on the wedding day. Thank you for everything you all did to make our reception so beautiful. Highly recommend this venue if you are getting married in this area.

You would never know it was a gloomy and rainy day on our wedding day because of all the natural sunlight in the ballroom. From the moment we toured the building, we fell in love with how beautiful yet simple everything looked. It wasn’t over the top. Another deal breaker was how kind and flexible their staff is. Erin Smith Roberts was very responsive and never pushy. She made me feel comfortable with the entire planning process. On our wedding day, we felt the love and support from the entire staff. They went the extra mile to make sure our wedding party and family members were taken care of. Erin F took amazing care of our two young little boys. The chefs made delicious food that all the guests raved about. Maggie, Grace and all of the servers delivered excellence service. It was a night we will remember and cherish forever. Thank you BRCC!

Could not have asked for a better wedding venue! Erin was super helpful through the whole process and was extremely responsive to all questions/concerns. We had a winter wedding, meaning that we had the entire clubhouse to use for ceremony/cocktail hour/dinner/dancing and they kept the flow from one room to another seamless for guests. The food was amazing as well! People are talking about how good everything tasted. i cannot thank everyone at Black Rock enough for all they did in helping us have the best wedding ever! I’m just sad I can’t do it all again year after year!!

We had an absolutely outstanding experience with Black Rock for our wedding. Erin Smith Roberts was a joy to work with when planning the wedding and made everything so stress free that I actually started to get nervous that I wasn't more stressed out in the weeks leading up to the wedding -- but there was no reason to be! Communication was excellent and prompt throughout the entire process; we had an April wedding and were hoping for an on-site outdoor ceremony and they made sure we were updated about when the tent would go up, how the weather was looking, and so on. Everything went off without a hitch. We had such a fun, no-stress day with the help of the amazing staff who all truly went above and beyond to make our day wonderful. All of our guests are still raving about how much fun they had, how lovely the venue was, how great the staff was, and how efficient and delicious dinner was. We are so glad that we chose BRCC for our big day and 100% recommend it to any other couple considering it.

It has taken me a long time to write this review because I wanted to make sure I expressed how amazing Black Rock was to work with for our wedding. But that's the thing, there are no words to describe just how incredible they are. Our experience with them was truly unmatched. We worked with Erin and Erin for our wedding and they both went above and beyond to make sure we had the most magical evening. The whole staff there was incredibly professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They made sure our whole experience was completely stress free. Not to mention, the venue itself is stunning. We had the best night celebrating with family and friends and thanks to them it was utterly flawless. We cannot say thank you enough!

I would recommend Black Rock to anybody planning a wedding. From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew it was where I wanted my wedding reception to be. The food, the beautiful ballroom, the grounds where we took photos… everything was perfect. After we had to postpone a year due to COVID, Colleen was beyond helpful and accommodating. The day-of staff, including Erin, were unbelievable. They made sure my husband and I were having fun and taken care of the entire night! Their energy and enthusiasm really added to the day… they even left a sweet note in our guest book. We had the absolute time of our lives and couldn’t have asked for anything more.

My husband and I got married on New Year’s Eve 2019 at Black Rock. We could not have LOVED our wedding day more. They went above and beyond our expectations. During the prep, we meet with Kim, the Wedding Coordinator. I cannot express how much I love her. Kim was always on point making sure we were a step ahead of everything. Kim had many suggestions that we never thought of. She would answer my crazy questions every step of the way even when the question was repetitive, I am a control freak! Everyone says wedding planning was challenging, we can honestly say that was not the case with Kim and her crew. We did not stress about anything with the venue because we knew Kim had everything taken care of.

The day of we were blessed with Maggie and her team. Maggie made sure everything went off without a hitch that everything and everyone knew what to do and where they needed to be. We were on time and relaxed the entire day. Our wedding could not have been more perfect. From start to finish working with the team at Black Rock they were well organized, compassionate and always willing to help. We could not have dreamed of a better wedding.

If you couldn’t tell, 100% recommend this venue. In love and obsessed.

We had our wedding at the Black Rock Country Club in Hingham. Kim is the event planner and is awesome! Every recommendation she made was spot on. She was so easy to work with. The food was incredible. The staff was awesome and it was just beautiful. Kim made sure our day went off without a hitch. It was truly a perfect magical night.

When we decided to have a winter wedding, we would have never expected to have it at a place like Black Rock. From the very get-go, Kim was wonderful. Full of useful information and extremely flexible. We wouldn't have done it a million times over without her!

The staff was very friendly and professional during the whole event, from start to finish. Even the Country Club members made us feel comfortable.

The only thing we heard from our guests was that they cleared the dinner plates a little too quickly. The food was AMAZING and some of the guests were not able to finish it if they decided to step away for a second. Other than that, everything was wonderful... Kim is the best venue coordinator out there! The food is absolutely up to par. Bar service was lovely too!

I can't say enough good things about this venue. Kim was amazing!!! She is one of the reasons I chose the place. The grounds are beautiful but Kim was so easy to work with. She got back to you right away and was super helpful. The day turned out perfect and it couldn't have been better. Everything was gorgeous and exactly how I wanted. The up lighting was amazing! I would recommend black rock to anyone. Kim made everything less stressful and made sure everything got done when it needed to. I wasn't nervous at all because I knew how perfect it was going to be. Again I can't say enough good things, love isn't a strong enough word for the day. Thanks so much for helping make my day perfect!!!!

My husband and I had our wedding at Black Rock Country Club on 9/18/15. Working with Kim (their wedding coordinator) and Maire (the Banquet captain) was absolutely fantastic. They took such great care of us from the initial tour of the venue all the way up through the wedding itself. Kim and Maire both provided us with great advice and ideas all throughout the entire process. The venue was absolutely gorgeous, we held the ceremony at their outdoor pavilion and then moved to the back terrace for cocktail hour, and then into dining room for dinner and dancing. The customer service they provided was impeccable. Both of our parents were raving after the fact about how attentive they were and able to keep everything running smoothly and on-time. Also, the food was amazing and definitely not your typical wedding food. We got compliments from so many guests. I would highly recommend BlackRock to anyone looking to host a wedding or special event. We had a perfect day!

My husband and I were married at Black Rock in early November 2014, and to this day we talk about how perfect our reception was! Kim, the coordinator, was amazing to work with-- from the day that we first came in to see the venue, through all of the planning and decision making, and guiding us through the reception to make the evening as seamless and enjoyable as possible for us, she was readily available and so helpful. She was always extremely responsive to emails and phone calls, and dealt with my crazy bride questions and requests without hesitation, while making me feel like our wedding was her sole focus (while I know she also had countless other weddings on the books). Having someone feel so invested in our big day meant so much to my husband and I, and I truly believe that we had such a wonderful experience because of Kim and the staff at Black Rock. I also have to specifically give praise to Maire, whom coordinated our menu tasting and went above and beyond to have any food/drinks that my husband and I needed throughout cocktail hour and the remainder of the reception post-dinner-- she could not be more of a sweetheart, and does her job so very well. I could not speak more highly of Black Rock as a reception venue!!

Black Rock was the perfect location for our 12-13-14 wedding. Everything was perfect! Two months later and we are still hearing from friends and family what a great venue it was and how amazing the food was. Kim was great to work with and did a phenomenal job at helping us achieve the wedding of our dreams. The staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating. We had a great experience working with everyone from the moment we toured the venue. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

My wedding was everything I could have ever imagined thanks to Kim the wedding coordinator and Maura (head of kitchen ). Kim was soo creative and had beautiful ideas for our venue. She was so patient and worked so hard on our venue to make it the best for us .kim was amazing . Maura was unbelievable . She was right on top of everything made us feel so comfortable and was always asking what we needed . She always had a drink for us and or food to make sure we eat .The food was delicous ! Such a beautiful venue for pictures ! On our wedding day it rained , but we took gorgeous photos downstairs and upstairs . Overall, an amazing day and best head chef and wedding coordinator !

Kim and the entire staff were professional, co-operative and very efficient in all aspects of planning, organizing and hosting the event.

Black Rock Country Club exceeded every expectation we had for our wedding. We got married in December and used the Grille Room - it is stunning! The staff was amazing, food was amazing, and everything ran like clock work. Kim, the coordinator, took care of absolutely everything so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I wish I could go back there and do it all over again!

When looking for our wedding venue, I began fearing I couldn't have something affordable AND elegant, until I found Black Rock Country Club. This was the first venue we went to look at and after my meeting with Kimberly, I canceled my other meetings and signed a contract! I chose Black Rock because of the unbelievable level of service they provided and the absolutely gorgeous views and buildings. The staff at Black Rock wait on you hand and foot in the most endearing and sincere way; treating their residents and guests with a level of class and respect that is reserved for the most elite population.

Let's be honest, planning a wedding is amazing but so, so stressful and overwhelming, but having one coordinator from Black Rock assigned to you throughout the whole experience is like having your own wedding planner but without the cost. Kimberly kept me on track throughout the whole planning process. She gave me her honest feedback and recommendations and never steered me wrong. Our guests were left with the impression that we spent a small fortune on our wedding based on their experience at Black Rock and they couldn't be more wrong.

The last and most important piece of the story about Black Rock is their insanely awesome food. When the food came out at the reception, the smell of 5-star restaurant food enveloped the entire room. Our guests were in awe, as were we, of how amazing every bit of food was. I had guests saying it was the best food they've ever had at a large event. I am honestly getting hungry just writing this review.

I encourage (beg) you to go check out Black Rock Country Club; you will never find anyone who can match their level of service at their prices! We had our ceremony and reception at Black Rock and it was honestly one of the best choices we made.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Black Rock- November 2014. Working with Kimberly, Black Rock's wedding coordinator, was an absolute pleasure. Kimberly was a true professional and is very detail oriented; each time we chatted on the phone or we emailed, I knew she understood my vision. Kimberly also provided me with a very detailed day of timeline which was perfect, and she kept us and our vendors on schedule the day of, which was very much appreciated. I can go on for days about Kimberly, she is the best!

Maire, our personal server day of, was unbelievable. She took wonderful care of my husband, myself, our bridal party and our immediate family. She went above and beyond; Maire frequently checked in with us during the wedding to make sure we ate, that we had a drink, and that we were happy. She even went outside in the 30 degree weather to serve us h'ordeurves while we were taking pictures, she is a gem! Thank you Maire!

The food is absolutely amazing and the venue is beautiful and modern. Besides complimenting us on the venue choice, the most frequent compliment we received was about the delicious food. If you are looking into passed h'ordeuvres, our guests could not get enough of the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon and the Bruschetta. I am not exaggerating when I say that every single guest raved about the passed h'ordeuvre and the entree selections. We also did a finishing station, which was a hit, and many guests told us it was the best they had ever seen at a wedding.

All of our guests were blown away by the immaculate condition of the venue, the food, and the staff. My husband and I are beyond elated that we chose Black Rock as our venue. I highly recommend Black Rock to any Bride to Be!

I got married at black rock on 10/11. I can't begin to thank Kim and the entire staff at black rock for the best day!! The food was delicious, as we walked around to each table plates were spotless, and everyone complimented the food. I Kim was amazing, we had a big wedding party, 33 people, Kim took charge of everyone and everything, just what we needed! Also, maire was amazing, literally every thing we needed she was right there to take care of our every need. If you are considering black rock or on the fence, I can honestly say it was the best decision I made Kim, and her staff were amazing and made my day perfect ( even with the rain)!!

I can not say enough about how amazing it was to have my wedding at black rock country club. Our wedding event organizer Kim's attention to detail was impeccable. We never felt rushed or crowded as she helped move the day along for our ceremony and reception. She was always right there when we needed her, but never up our ass and in our way. She seemed to be two steps ahead of us at all times. Food was delicious. We had the Filet and Lobster, plus seasoned chicken. With a side salad and pasta dish. Maura from the waitstaff is absolutely amazing. She was always there for us to make sure we had a drink in our hand, or anything else we needed. The venue is beautiful. I was getting compliments all night. They also offer military discounts. Always a plus.

We looked and looked and looked at venues, and then we found Black Rock Country Club! We selected it for the facility's beautiful setting, new construction, ability to have the reception, cocktail hour, and ceremony all on-site in air conditioning, but we rave about it because of how Kim and her team made our big day flawless. Leading up to the day (which was 2 years in the making), Kim did everything she could to be accommodating. And while we are very detail-oriented, Kim had us matched, asking about napkin folds, sash ties, and length of our first dance, when we had no clue these details were options or would impact the flow of the event. Clearly, she has done a lot of weddings and knows what's important and when to get you to focus on certain elements. And the entire staff made us and our family feel very well cared for, whether dropping off items in the days leading up to the wedding or during our numerous visits prior to the wedding.

Additionally, the facility is so well maintained and we kept getting compliments of how beautiful everything is -- from the manicured grounds, to new carpeting in the ballroom, to clean and well-appointed bathrooms, and beyond.

All in all, Black Rock offers immense service and quality at a reasonable price. After a long search and thinking we'd never find a place that would meet everyone's expectations, we are so happy to have been married at Black Rock.

I was married this past July and both my ceremony and reception were held at the Black Rock. I could not be more thrilled with my choice as it served as the perfect venue for the best day of my life! Kimberly, the wedding planner, is absolutely amazing. She was always readily available by email and was extremely proactive in planning and coordinating. So many details go into planning a wedding but with Kimberly, there is so much less stress. She really takes the brunt of the work. She is also very creative. She completely understood my rustic vision and helped create a lot of the decor including making a chalkboard menu and ceremony program for me. Kimberly even ran to Michael's on the day of my wedding to grab a couple last minute decor items. Her dedication and pride in her work is clear.

Also, Maire, the banquet coordinator, was unbelievable as well. When I met her at my food tasting, I did not realize what an important part of the wedding day she would become. She was there all day and all night bringing my bridal party and I whatever we needed while we got ready and attending to any need we might have during the reception. She was so kind and professional.

The Black Rock is not only a beautiful venue but it has an amazing staff truly dedicated to helping you have the perfect wedding. I would highly recommend it!

Wow – that is the first word that comes to mind when I think about our reception venue. Planning our event at Black Rock was a breeze. Stacy Gillen, the events manager, is super knowledgeable and super friendly. I loved working with her!! She was always available via phone and email, and even dealt with my compulsive need to visit the space every chance I got. No request seemed so big and no detail too small. Stacy worked with us to personalize a menu and organize our timeline down to the minute. She was in contact with all of my vendors to coordinate, which meant I didn’t have to do it, which meant I could spend the days before my wedding trying to relax and enjoy my final moments as a single woman! I can’t say enough how at ease I felt knowing that she was working behind the scenes to make everything perfect and that she would be with us on the day of the wedding ensuring everything went smoothly. And on the day of our wedding, wow. The space looked even more beautiful than I could have imagined. Stacy and her staff ensured that every detail was in place, down to writing “notes” for our unique guest book to help make sure the guests knew what to do. We were blessed to have a server designated for me and my husband so we never had to go to the bar and we knew when our food was coming out so we could enjoy. And boy was there a lot to enjoy. The food was amazing – our guests were clearing there plates. Stacy made sure we knew where we needed to be and when we needed to be there. When we couldn’t find the all-important map for my bustle, Stacy got on the floor with my bridesmaids to figure it out. That is dedication! I am so glad that we chose Black Rock Country Club for our reception – I could not be happier!

Our wedding day was truly amazing! Not only is Black Rock Country Club the most beautiful location on the south shore for a wedding ceremony and reception, but the function coordinator, Kimberly Emerick, and her staff was amazing to work with! Every detail was perfectly planned and flawlessly executed with grace! I was a bride planning a wedding for a date set 3 months out. Kimberly has been given a remarkable gift for limiting the stress of the event while maintaining the importance of the day! The location is breathtaking, the food is delicious, the staff are phenomenal and our day was perfect! I honestly can not imagine a more perfect wedding anywhere else!!! Thank you so much for the gift of our day!!!

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with the staff at Black Rock Country Club! I was a bit nervous in the beginning because the wedding coordinator had changed after we had signed our contract but Kimberly (the new coordinator we were working with) ensured me that I would not have to worry about a thing, and she was right. She was so easy to work with, responsive and went above and beyond (even driving guests to the hotel when our transportation left some of us stranded!) to ensure that our wedding day was truly perfect. She invited us back for a second tasting when we still weren't sure about meal choices and wines, and was always quick to respond to me when I had questions or concerns. Kimberly and Maire both made sure that our wedding ran smoothly and all of our guests raved about their interactions with them and the service the night of our wedding. I am so glad that we chose Black Rock, not only is it a beautiful venue but they really do work to make sure that your wedding is more perfect than you imagined it could be. Black Rock is an absolutely beautiful venue. We had our wedding in the main room with the stone terrace outside. It was so nice. The room is just surrounded with windows and gives an amazing view of the grounds. Our happy hour was outside on the terrace and the nicest bonus is that the guests get to watch the bridal party take pictures on the grounds down below. Usually the bridal party just disappears but the guests get to watch everything and it is a nice bonus. The staff is phenomenal!!! Seriously phenomenal! Stacy and Marie... are the stars of the place! We had someone who spent the entire time just getting myself, my groom and my mom everything we needed. A month after the wedding our guests are still talking about the food. It was truly to die for... I think every scrap of food was gone by the time the reception was over... I would highly recommend the venue to anyone...

We just got married this past weekend and honestly Black Rock Country Club (BRCC) couldn't have been better. My husband and I have been trying to think about if there were any areas of improvement and honestly we couldn't think of anything. During our planning period, the wedding coordinator of BRCC changed which is why we marked responsiveness as 4 stars which caused a few small hiccups. But once Tricia was up to speed, things were absolutely fabulous. Tricia worked really hard to make our wedding as us as possible. We were able to bring in our decorations early and walk her through what we wanted. She and the team took copious notes so when we arrived everything was perfectly put together. She also worked to ensure that all of our guests dietary needs were met no matter the odd or unique request. Even though the wedding was almost a week ago, Tricia has still been checking in on us and telling us of all the things she appreciated about our wedding. She and her team really helped bring our vision to life, we couldn't be happier.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at BRCC this past November. The venue was very beautiful that time of year and had a lot of foliage for those looking for a fall wedding. The food was absolutely amazing and our guests could not stop raving about the delicious appetizers and entrees. We knew that BRCC had a reputation for their food and they did not disappoint! We worked with Kim for over a year planning this wedding and it was such a pleasant and organized process. Maggie was our day-of coordinator and she was absolutely wonderful and made our day so stress-free! Thank you BRCC for creating such a beautiful and perfect wedding for us.

Black Rock was a great decision for my wedding venue. Kim was awesome and always available when I needed her. The room looked perfect the day of the wedding. Food was delicious. We had many complements on the food and the venue. The only thing is you cant take photos just anywhere. They have specific locations for that. I would just recommend going somewhere before the reception for photos. I would definitely recommend Black Rock to everyone!

Stacy is the wedding coordinator and she is fabulous. Responds promptly to all my questions and helped me work within my budget. The reception room is beautiful, updated with lots of natural light and a large deck over the golf course for the cocktail hour. The ceremony site however was a bit disappointing, surrounded by the pool and the fitness center when there are much more scenic locations on site. Nevertheless, the tent still made for a lovely outdoor ceremony. The food was also excellent and Maura tended to our every need during our big day. While this can be a bit pricey, you certainly get what you pay for.

Brochure mentions treasured memories and "an unforgettable experience that exceeds your expectations in every way". Not quite. It was a very hot summer day and some elderly guests were instructed to stay outside even 8 minutes before the event and not allowed to come into the airconditioned corridor to wait. Another guest commented that she was approached by an employee (before entry) that walking around the property was not permitted. (Not a very welcoming start to the celebration). Next, several guests did not receive their requested part of the meal because what supposed to be vegetarian wasn't vegetarian! Next, the club has very strict rules regarding exactly where pictures can be taken in back of the clubhouse - a small grassy area near the firepit and an employee watched to make sure no one went outside this area. There are beautiful flower garden areas on the property but you're not allowed there for photos.
This private club has policies, fees, penalties that that should be disclosed before the contract is signed and a nonrefundable deposit is made to avoid surprises and misunderstandings. The policies etc. were disclosed over time and even up to the day before the wedding. There is a penalty if guests arrive 30 minutes early, fee for security guard after 8PM (if you want) and if you want group family photos at the fire pit area, mngmt says only one family group may descend to the lawn area at a time. They do not allow large extended family group photos if there are too many people.
If a couple is looking for a venue for their wedding, there are many questions they would not know to ask - such as -are family photos very important? Then inquire where photos can be taken in case of rain and if that space is large for their size group.
"At Black Rock we take special pride in creating celebrations that become your most treasured memories." Not quite.
As the paying parent for this event of about 100 guests, I wish that Black Rock Country Club was more transparent about their policies before collecting the deposit. This is a critical review and I hope that prospective couples evaluate my comments and that mngmt listens. This club venue has great appeal but there is another side.
