As soon as we toured Black River Barn there was no question that we were going with this venue. It is so beautiful inside and out along with the getting ready suite, I was sold. The staff were so kind and happy to answer our questions. They allowed us a second tour after we booked to plan our decorations and ask more questions. They were great at communication, especially leading up to the wedding with emails making sure we had everything and they had all the info to assist in making our wedding day perfect. We can’t thank Nicole and all the staff enough for helping create my dream wedding! -

We had our wedding and wedding reception at the Black River Barn in October 2025 and it was amazing. It was the perfect place to get married. The staff is very friendly and a pleasure to work with from our first tour to the day of our event. They had very insightful help with planning layouts and backup plans for rain. At our final details meeting they helped us think through all of the items we hadn't even considered yet to help our day run flawlessly. The venue is well maintained, very clean, and organized. The bridal suite and the groom suite are also elegant and spacious areas for the bridal party to relax while getting ready. There is plenty of onsite parking for guests and vendors. The close proximity to local hotels made it convenient for shuttle services to and from the venue as well. Overall, we had an amazing experience with the Black River Barn and its staff. We HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone. -

We couldn’t have chosen a more perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we arrived, everything felt elegant, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed for such a special occasion. The setting was absolutely beautiful and provided a stunning backdrop for both our ceremony and reception.
The staff were exceptional—professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. They guided us through every step of the process, answered all our questions, and made sure the day ran smoothly without any stress. Their experience and calm presence made a huge difference. -

We had our wedding at Black River Barn this past September and it was everything we hoped for and more! The space itself is beautiful, modern, and spacious. But what really stood out was the professionalism and care from the entire staff.
From the first walkthrough to the final sign off, the team was organized, accommodating and genuinely invested in making sure our day went perfectly. They worked seamlessly with our vendors, kept everything running smoothly and made sure we never had to stress about a thing.
For the quality of service, setting and attention to detail, the value was incredible. We can’t say enough good things about Nicole, the staff and the overall experience. It truly felt like they cared as much about our day as we did. Highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a perfect mix of elegance, warmth and professionalism! -

04/27/24 Best Day EVER!
We got married on April 27th of 2024 at Black River Barn in South Haven, MI and let me tell you, it was a DREAM! Between all the questions we had and any and all concerns, Tina was always available to answer those questions and address any concerns. She also made sure I was able to view the venue when ever I needed to nail down a vision I had. They really helped ease my mind about the biggest day of our lives. They helped make this day go so smoothly and they were so professional. My guests raved about how beautiful the venue was. If we had to redo our wedding, we would 100% select BRB again, hands down! Thank you guys for being apart of our special day!

We have nothing but positive things to say about Black River Barn. The venue is beautiful and the management/staff were extremely organized, friendly, and professional. If you're getting married in Southwest Michigan, you will not find a better spot. We looked around everywhere for comparison and it was not even close. -

a dream!!!
If you are wanting to have the wedding of your dreams I would highly recommend Black River Barn. The first time we toured this venue I could just picture every detail about how our day would be. The venue alone is absolutely beautiful, then you add your own personal touch and its truly a dream come true. The planning process was made entirely easy from the start with the staff they have. Communication was impressive with quick responses. They have thought of every detail a bride would want for her big day! -

Black River Barn Review
The BRB team was such a treat to work with! They made our big day go by without a hitch. Everyone was so sweet and answered all of our questions. We did a final walk through a couple weeks before the big day, it was so nice to have that and start to see my vision come to life. I couldn't recommend Black River Barn more. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, they truly have thought of everything there. I knew the moment we saw the venue that I just had to have my wedding there. If you are thinking of booking the venue for your big day, DO IT! It was the best decision we made. -

Absolutely perfect venue. I cannot adequately describe the peacefulness I felt on my wedding day arriving at BRB at 9am and not leaving until the reception ended. The getting ready rooms are perfect for the soon-to-be newlyweds, with beautiful lighting, high end sound system, and designated bathrooms. The decor is tasteful and elegant with lots of natural lighting from the east--just lovely for getting ready photos. The staff are fantastic to work with. Nicole, Taylor and team are incredibly organized and somehow managed to be there and make sure everything was perfect but I barely saw them once. The space is gorgeous, indoors and out. The only potential downside is having to use their preferred caterers, but honestly I felt like it helped narrow an incredibly broad field. Would 100% recommend this location. -

The Black River Barn was beyond our dreams! My husband and I knew instantly when walking in for our tour, that we would do anything to get married here! The BRB has the most kind and inviting staff. Nicole and her team makes you feel as part of the family and really cares about making your day as perfect as it can be. The venue is elegant, classy, timeless, with a simple touch of rustic. It is a barn that will carry beyond the fade and is uniquely its own. The suites to get ready in were dreamy! The bar is breathtakingly beautiful! The long isle was dramatic and left everyone speechless. Not to mention the fairytale chandeliers on the side. The venue thought of everything from TVs to display engagement pictures, a projector to play a slideshow, DJ music by bluetooth in the bathrooms, locked bridal suites, mini bar outside, etc. I could go on for days! I 10/10 would recommend this venue to everyone! -

This venue was a literal dream!!! It is just a beauty. We picked it for a million reasons but some important ones were that it has so many seating options for both inside and outdoor. This allowed for a smooth transition inside after attempting an outdoor ceremony until it down poured once I made it to the alter. This storm came out of NOWHERE. None the less we moved to the balcony inside and I have the most dreamy photos. The sound system is top tier and allowed everyone to party and dance regardless of being inside or outside. 20/10 recommend!!!! -

Unparalleled Service
The Black River Barn team went above and beyond to make this wedding an event like none other! Their attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service was over the top. I have been a wedding planner for 22+ years and have never had an event go this smoothly! I would recommend my closest friends and family to use them in a heartbeat. 12 out of 10 stars! -

Every aspect we experienced was as portrayed to us and the venue itself was just as beautiful if not more so than the pictures we saw on FB and Instagram. Working with Nicole was also a pleasure-she was kind and accommodating.
We did have 2 singers and we found the sound a bit echoey. Also the speaker sounded slightly distorted due to echoing.
All in all it was a happy experience and I would be delighted to use their venue again. -

Nicole was extremely organized, professional and on top of it. The venue was immaculate every time we were there. The venue allowed tons of room to set up different sized groups. I absolutely loved having the bridal suite as we just had a baby and got to use the comfort of the suite for several hours leading up to our event. Wish we could throw another event there! Maybe a 10 year anniversary party :) -

From the moment we saw the barn we knew it was the perfect venue for us. Even with Covid, Nicole and her brother always did their best to make sure our wedding experience was nothing short of amazing. They stayed up to date on restrictions and guidelines and remained transparent the entire time! The venue itself is GORGEOUS and literally has everything you need. The groom and bridal suites were throughly thought out with plenty of space to get ready. On our wedding day, their team helped make our dreams come true! They helped transition our ceremony space and reception area and made it exactly how we wanted. They also continued to clean throughout the night which was a bonus. All of our guests raved about how beautiful the space was and how kind all the staff was. I loved communicating and working with BRB. I will 100% always recommend this wedding venue! -

When looking for a wedding venue, my husband and I immediately knew that BRB was the one for us the second we stepped foot in the doors. We immediately fell in love with the beautiful spacious rustic indoor space, gorgeous chandeliers, modern bar space, fireplace/fire pits and the surrounding forest. We also loved the beautiful bridal and grooms suite + balcony/patio where we got ready with our wedding party (it was the only venue we had visited that had a grooms suite!). Covid restrictions definitely posed numerous obstacles to all of our wedding planning. Luckily, the owners of BRB were EXTREMELY flexible when we had to postpone our wedding date and very helpful in all of the planning. They were very easily reachable and answered all of our million questions throughout our wedding planning process. Due to covid restriction we had to move the reception outside. BRB has a beautiful and spacious patio that allowed us to have a wedding better than we could have ever hoped for! We used the outdoor staircase for our grand entrance with the bridal party. We hung up many string lights and our DJ used uplighting on the surrounding forest backdrop. All of that in combination with the fire pits created a very warm, charming, romantic, and intimate atmosphere. We had numerous guests comment that it was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. BRB also have a very spacious kitchen that allowed our caterers to cook on site and provide delicious and warm dinner to our guests. We would 10/10 recommend choosing Black River Barn as a venue to celebrate your special day. The owners were truly one of the kindest vendors we had a pleasure of working with! Thank you so much!!! :) -

Our wedding took a few unexpected turns due to Covid. We had to move dates and we had to move from our original location in downtown Grand Rapids as we had to comply with regulations for indoor events. We lucked out with finding BRB, which is a beautiful space that met all our needs. While they do have a large indoor space, we kept the wedding outdoors due to regulations. We had set up one tent for the ceremony and another two more for the cocktail hour and the live band/dance area respectively. BRB had more than enough outdoor space to accommodate our needs. They also had the most amazing suites for the bride and groom. Each of them was spacious with couches, a TV each and Bluetooth connection to built-in speakers. The bride’s suite had a station where the stylists could set up and help get everyone ready for the big day. The groom’s suite had a foosball table and an outdoor patio to relax as everyone was getting ready. We had the most special wedding and it was in big part due to BRR. Overall, this was an excellent space and we got numerous comments on how this was one of the most beautiful wedding venues our guests had attented. -

We were married at Black River Barn in South Haven on September 5, 2025, and it was absolutely perfect. The venue is stunning rustic, elegant, and beautifully maintained. The setting made our day feel so special, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how gorgeous it was. We couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate our wedding and would highly recommend Black River Barn to any couple. -

Fantastic venue!
Extremely professional and detail oriented team! Planning with them was straightforward and my emails and questions were always responded to quickly and answered thoroughly . The venue was pristine and they went above and beyond along with my wedding planner to make sure everything was taken care of. Would definitely recommend this venue! -
