Beautiful finished product!!

The gents at Black Iris were great - I met with them in person and then tweaked the proposal several times until I had exactly what I wanted. They were willing to work with me (since I'm really NOT a flower person) and made great suggestions. And the end results were wonderful and beautiful - the reception's flowers were breathtaking and SO well done. I loved our ceremony flowers as well, including the nice touch of greenery and pine cones (a special request!) that they put around the Unity Candle. They were also very helpful on the day of our wedding and made 3 different stops that day! Definitely recommend!!! Jennifer T, Fredericksburg, VA

Florals were spectacular and service was awesome!

At our first consultation with Black Iris Floral Events, my daughter brought pictures of what her vision was for her wedding flowers. Choosing flowers for a wedding can be very overwhelming, but our delightful contact patiently broke it all down to guide us through the options that we could consider for the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, cake, wedding party, and close relatives. Carefully, with my daughter’s color choices and vision in mind, she gave us suggestions that demonstrated her knowledge and experience of floral design. After review from Todd, the manager, we were presented with a proposal that we were extremely excited about! Along the way, we asked for several changes to the order, which were perfectly implemented. The floral arrived on schedule to have the cake flowers added to the wedding cake. Selecting ideas from pictures did not do justice to the magnificent floral arrangements, bouquets, boutonniers, and corsages that stood out at the wedding! They were just perfect and made my daughter’s wedding day spectacular and beautiful!! I would highly recommend Todd, Jason, and Black Iris Floral Events for any event!

Black iris did a phenomenal job. If you’re a very particular bride like myself I highly recommend using them. They executed my vision with flying colors. I’m still in awe with how well everything turned out.

Stunning Flowers!

Black Iris provided the flowers for our recent wedding, which was planned around a peacock theme. The flowers were absolutely stunning, in shades of white, blue, and purple, with peacock feathers included! In addition to our centerpieces, I had a gorgeous bouquet and matching flower comb, and we had fresh flowers on our cake. But the showstopper was a huge peacock adorned in flowers on our sweetheart table - it was gorgeous! Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the flowers were. They really tied the theme together, and we can't say enough about how impressed we were with Black Iris. We highly recommend them for any occasion where some "wow!" is needed!

Made My Day

We just got married this past March and we used Black Iris Florist as our florists and we could not be happier! We worked with Todd and he did an outstanding job making our vision for beautiful winter decor come to life. We received so many compliments from our guests that our centerpieces at the reception were absolutely gorgeous--I actually
had several of my friends take pictures of the birch boxes with the winter floral arrangements so that they could try to create something similar for their own Christmas
centerpieces. And my bouquet was simply stunning--a perfect balance of floral and winter elements, I absolutely loved it! We really enjoyed working with Todd & Jason .They truly did
an amazing job helping us to create the winter decor that I had envisioned. We would HIGHLY recommend Black Iris Floral for your upcoming an event--they are a fantastic

My experience with Black Iris was amazing. I went into the consultation appointment with no idea what I wanted, barely any idea of what colors I would be using or anything else. They allowed me to show them ideas of things I liked and did not like and simply whipped up the most beautiful flower arrangements. They arrived at the venue the morning of the wedding, set up all the flower arrangements and were incredibly flexible with everything. I absolutely recommend Black Iris for any event.

I have pretty much no experience with flower types. I had researched a few bouquets and went to meet with them. They were amazing and helped me through every step. They made my bouquets look phenomenal.

I had such a terrific experience working with Black Iris! Their estimate and pricing have got to be the best value in Tidewater!! The initial consult, quote and contract were straight forward and clear; the PRICES are TOP NOTCH!! They revised it when the budget got tight, answered all my questions/emails/phone calls right away; showed up early and the design and flowers were stunning!! Todd and team delivered far and beyond my expectations (which were significantly high). His team was a pleasure work with, they not only understood my vision but also were able to add to it. They obviously know their flowers but the artistic touch and comprehension of seeing how every piece fits together truly made for an incredible event. Everyone commented on the caliber of the flowers, the wedding and reception would not have been nearly as beautiful and cohesive had it not been for Black Iris. I would recommend (and have) to anyone!!

I loved working with the team at Black Iris. They were amazing. My bouquet was stunning. I gave them a general idea of what I was looking for and they exceeded my vision. The arrangements were gorgeous. I had forgotten a couple of things and adding to my contract was no problem. Loved them!

Talk about A++ customer service... I met with quite a few florists before choosing Black Iris Floral Design. He was over the top accommodating. He came to meet me near work for our first consultation. I immediately loved them. He was warm and kind and had many suggestions for me as I was not 100% sure on what I wanted. He told me about his history in the business and
he was just so easy to talk to. Later in the process he met me at the place we were renting our chairs from, so that he could help with the appropriate color scheme for our flowers. he not only had great customer service, but great prices as well. Some florists quoted me at almost twice his cost. We worked through email and a few meetings to coordinate the final contract and the day of details. He was always timely with his responses. The day of the wedding, Todd, Jason and their team arrived at the venue as planned and proceeded to set up the flowers as we had discussed. The bouquets and boutonnieres were beautiful...exactly what I was hoping for. He also did my cake flowers, my ceremony arrangements and all the flowers for the cocktail and dinner tables. They were gorgeous! I received so many compliments on how beautiful the flowers were and absolutely loved them myself. I highly recommend Todd & Jason and Black Iris Floral Design. They are outstanding.

I am so thrilled with Todd & Jason and their team at Black Iris . I knew from our first meeting that I wanted them to do our wedding and I was so happy with our decision! Todd worked with me on developing the overall concept for the reception, helped me find ways to get my vision from vendors, helped me find vendors, did everything so I didn't have to worry about a thing. Todd and his team were so easy to work with and absolute professionals. They took care of absolutely everything. Todd was at the reception site the before our wedding making sure the party rental company set everything up exactly how we had planned it out and made sure it was perfect. His staff was so nice and made sure that every detail was thought of so we had nothing to worry about the day of. People are still talking about the transformation of the reception and I owe it all to Todd and his amazing team! I can't tell you how happy I am with their work and how much I recommend them!

Black Iris Floral was recommended to us by our wedding planner, Emmett Hickam, of Richmond Bridal Consulting. All I can say is we were NOT disappointed! We met with Jason and Todd, showed them a couple pictures of floral arrangements, a bouquet, and a boutonniere that we liked, and like that, it was done. They took our inspiration and made it even better than the pictures we had. It's clear they are professionals, knowing exactly what type of flower was in each picture, what types of flowers were in season or not, and which would make the bouquet big or heavy (brides-to-be . . . keep that in mind!). They were flexible right up until the end, aiding in modifying the centerpieces as we were making final adjustments a couple months before the wedding. Highly recommend!

Where do I even begin when it comes to how AMAZING Black Iris Floral Design is! First off, their flowers and designs are absolutely gorgeous. It was as if every single thing I had pinned on my Pinterest board became reality but 100% better than I had even imagined it could look. It was such a big relief working with them too. With all the stress of all the other wedding related things, working with them was a walk in the park; I always knew I was in great hands. I noticed that with some other vendors, there was a delay in response or the concept I was aiming for wasn't resonating....NOT the case with Black Iris !! They were extremely prompt with their replies, flexible, provided pictures when I was having a hard time visualizing what something would look like, provided alternative suggestions when it came to designs if I wasn't quite sure what I wanted, gave an extremely detailed quote (which made it wonderful to refer back to when I wasn't sure months later what I had ordered), and were extremely accommodating when I made a last minute change to have my husband's 90 year old grandma as our flower girl (the came up with a few fun things I could do when it came to grandma). I'm not really an emotional person, but I must say that I got teary eyed when I saw our arbor, my flowers, and the flowers in general. Everything was completely perfect and I couldn't have asked for more from Todd. They went above and beyond and you can tell they truly value their customers. When they are talking to you, even though I'm sure they are dealing with a hundred other clients that day, they make you feel as if you're their only client. I had a fabulous experience with them and I hope all other brides in the area engage with Black Iris as their florist. The do beautiful work, the price is very reasonable for what we got and its a stress-free experience working with them.

Black Iris went above and beyond any expectations I had. When I walked into our reception room I was stunned. Everything was beautiful. From the flowers, to the centerpieces, to just the tablecloths. Everything was beyond perfection. I cannot say enough amazing things about this company. Todd and Jason were wonderful to work with and really listened to everything I wanted. When the bouquets showed up for the bridesmaids and myself I was floored with how beautiful they were. People could not stop complimenting the flowers and table decorations. The photo booth back drop was beautiful, they went above and beyond to make our day the most special. I could not have dreamt of anything more beautiful. Thank you! Todd and Jason at Black Iris Floral Events were totally amazing. I can't say enough good things about them. My husband and I were blown away by our wedding flowers and the bouquet and flower crown he did for me for some other photos we had taken. All the rentals we used from them were amazing too. They really took our ideas and went beyond anything we could have imagined. I would recommend them for any of your event or wedding florals in Hampton Roads or in Richmond Va. Our guests are still talking about the flowers and how unreal they were, truly breathtaking. Thank you guys so much!!

My wedding was everything I hoped it would be. Todd & Jason where amazing with me I did not have a clue how to explain what I was looking for. They took my ideas and made them come true. Laura got my printing and floor layout just the way I wanted it. The flowers and my bouquet where overwhelmingly beautiful I cried when I saw the room. I met with the Virginia Beach Black Iris team and showed them pictures of what I wanted. What impressed me was they sent the pictures to their Richmond team since they were closer to where I was getting married, and the Richmond team set up beautiful arrangements just from my ideas and pictures. Words cannot express how grateful I am to Jason and Todd and their incredible team at Black Iris. They are simply the most talented people I have ever met. They were such a joy to work with from the moment I stepped into their shop until our wedding day. They were always extremely accommodating and so easy to reach! My mouth dropped open when I saw my beautiful flower arrangements for the first time. I was in awe at how perfect everything looked. I wanted a romantic, elegant feel for my fall vineyard wedding, and they nailed it 100%! The arrangements were so grand and absolutely breathtaking! I felt like I was in a fairy tale. Black Iris was one of the vendors selected by The Yacht Club at Marina Shores for our wedding package. This was my first experience with planning any kind of function, let alone have any knowledge of flowers. I brought pictures for inspiration, but had no idea how it was all going to look, other than I knew I wanted hydrangeas. When I walked into the venue, I was blown away at how classic and beautiful the colors were. Our bouquets were so amazing that I almost didn't want to throw the extra one for the bouquet toss. My bridesmaids said their bouquets continued to retain their beauty well after the wedding day. Thank you all for making our day so special!

Black Iris Floral Events is an amazing team with some of the most amazing floral work in the Region! My expectations we more than exceeded by the team at Black Iris! Amazing flowers and the best people you could possibly work with! Black Iris is the florist you want for your wedding. Todd and Jason are so talented and gave us such incredible ideas. Black iris was amazing! We had a meeting about 2 1/2 months before the wedding. I came to the meeting with a few pictures of flower bouquets I liked. Keep in mind I do not know my flowers well at all. They were very helpful in guiding me in the direction for me to go. Come the day of the wedding the table decorations and linens looked absolutely stunning and the colors matched my bridesmaid dresses perfectly! The bouquets were gorgeous and way prettier then the picture I showed them but they did everything I wanted. The bouquets were full of flowers! They are a little pricey but you definitely get what you pay for! I would recommended them to others for sure. My wedding was May 30 this 2025.

Outstanding service, Laura , Todd & Jason Took care of every detail even with my crazy changes to my floor plans and colors they made my wedding as special as I dreamed.

Todd and Jason were wonderful to work with. They did the flowers and decor for my daughters wedding- it was a very large-elegant-nontraditional affair...and they knocked it out of the park!!! Our venue, The half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center was just a big plain unattractive space, and they transformed it into an amazingly gorgeous environment- all within the budget! I highly recommend them, their pictures online do NOT do their work justice.

While not outside the US, this was a destination wedding for us as we live 6 hours from Richmond. Todd came highly recommended from a colleague. I am so glad we booked them ! The entire process from start to finish was painless and well organized. From referring us to vendors to finalizing all the details the week before the wedding to running the show the day of the wedding, we have nothing but wonderful praise for Todd. Our guests were impressed with the quality of the day and how smoothly it all ran without us lifting a finger. I was so relaxed on the wedding day and got to enjoy a few hours of down time in the morning knowing that Todd was taking care of all the timing and coordination for our vendors and the flowers were amazing ! Jason was so helpful the day of the wedding.

The Black Iris team came to my rescue and I couldn't have imagined our wedding without them. Only two weeks before our wedding, we were left without a florist and, after asking for local recommendations from my planner, she suggested Black Iris. I called thinking they would surely be booked and maybe they were but they swooped me up and handled everything. I had a quote back within 24 hours and it was less than what I expected. Awesome! I had no fear the day of the wedding that what I told them I wanted was exactly what I would get. And everything from our reception flowers to my bouquets where way beyond my expectations. Black Iris did a beautiful and wonderful job with our wedding. They were able to truly listen to our ideas and input and then bring it all together to be even better than we hoped. I was truly amazed with the outcome of the hard work that they put in. We got numerous compliments on the whole wedding but in particular we heard from several guests that they were blown away by how beautiful the florals were and the décor. Black Iris was truly masterful at bringing together the mood and inspiration for the entire wedding and creating a cohesive event. Jason was so awesome! He was professional, engaging, and so helpful! All the staff was so helpful and accommodating. They were right on time and the flowers were all labeled which I really appreciate since there were only little differences among the boutineers. The flowers were very fresh and lasted several days after the wedding. I would definitely recommend them for any event.

My fiance and I had a beautiful day designed by Black Iris Floral Events. When I met with Jason and Todd, I brought a bunch of pictures, a dream, and my very limited knowledge of flowers. They listened intently to my ideas and explained how Black Iris could bring my vision of classic Southern elegance to life.

Besides just florals, Black Iris provided all of the other rentals for my wedding. It was so nice to work with a “one stop shop” without having to juggle and stress about other vendors. On my wedding day, I did not have to worry about anything falling through the cracks because I knew that Black Iris would take care of my decor needs.

When I saw everything on my wedding day, I was completely speechless. I mean - I had peonies in my bouquet for my NOVEMBER wedding - how did they do that?! All of our guests were so complimentary of our tablescape as well as the flowers.

Black Iris does AMAZING work! Black Iris supplied all flowers, centerpieces, ceremony decor (including a beautiful chandelier), linens, chargers, and lighting. I was a pretty hands on bride and knew exactly what I wanted with my floral arrangements and decor. Black Iris was very easy to work with and the overall product was beyond perfection. Working so hard on planning your wedding, you want everything to be perfect and exactly what you had envisioned... Black Iris went above and beyond and everything was better than what I had imagined.

Although at times there were delays in responses, they ultimately got back to me and it all worked out! My family and I received so many compliments regarding the decor and they really provide that "Wow" factor for your wedding.

I have been with my man for 30 years, we decided to throw the fairy tale wedding. I wish that I could give the value and quality more than 5 stars!! Black Iris is the absolute best at what they do - I was absolutely STUNNED with my bouquet and centerpieces for my wedding. They blew me out of the water - seriously. Todd and Jason did SO much more than flowers. The flowers both for the wedding and reception were lovely, especially the arrangement at the church which we left for services the next day and caused compliments from the congregation for a week. But in addition to flowers they did all the lighting and decor for the reception and fell in perfectly with our ideas. When I wanted a certain votive Todd bought 72 of them plus got perfect holders for the table cards. They did and redid the floor plan to get the flow just right and made wonderful recommendations for placement and decoration of the bar,the candy bar, the cake, the ice sculpture (which they ordered and was spectacular) the memory table and the escort table. They recommended the rental of the wicker furniture on the deck that was used all night. We did not use a wedding planner and Todd worked wonderfully with the other vendors, getting the staging for the band, working of the floor plan with the caterer, etc. They are not cheap but if you want every detail to be perfect these are your guys.

My flowers took my breath away as soon as I saw them. Jason and Todd are so wonderful at what they do and they understood exactly what I wanted my wedding to look and feel like. I chose Black Iris to do a candy bar for me that I had seen at a wedding show. After discussing that, he wanted to know about my flowers. I already had someone picked out but they beat the price and did a way better job I might add. I was in shock at how beautiful the flowers turned out. It made me cry. Way better than I pictured. The candy bar was a hit and they even shifted the menu last second when the weather turned hot to avoid any mishaps (we originally had a lot of chocolate, but I'm grateful because it would have been a mess). They also provided our table linens which fit into our color scheme flawlessly. I am so glad we saw that candy bar because the whole experience improved my wedding day!

Wow! What can I SAY, AMAZING , BEAUTIFUL, OFF THE CHARTS GORGOUS . IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD DREAMED. I Just showed Todd and Jason a Piacture and it was exactly what I wanted. The flowers where so fresh . My bouquet was off the charts and my mother was blown away that we had stayed in budget and gotten exactly what we wanted I told Todd not one cent over $4,500. and hey got it to 4250. with the lighting. Thanks for the memories .

Todd produced the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen for my wedding! He is such a talented designer, and even helped design the table settings and general color scheme of the wedding. He exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend him!

Todd and his team went over the top to make the most beautiful floral display at my wedding! So many of the guests commented that it was the most beautiful they had ever seen. My bouquet was so fresh and colorful, as were the ones for my bridesmaids. My groom even commented on how modern the boutonnieres were. Todd went above and beyond what was required by a florist, and actually helped keep some of the other vendors on track. He also provided the linens and up-lighting for the room. I will definitely refer all my friends getting married to him in the future!

Todd does amazing work! His designs for our wedding were over the top, and so many people commented on how beautiful the flowers were! He was easy to work with and really listened to my vision for the wedding. Then he took my ideas and made them into something I never could have imagined. We highly recommend him and could not have been happier with his results!

Black Iris Floral exceeded all my expectations and the flowers were absolutely beautiful! I had more compliments on the flowers than anything else at the wedding. I will highly recommend them to all of my friends.

Words can not express the thanks to Jason and Todd for making my day so much better than I ever expected I was so so happy the minute my box of bouquets got to the house. they were packaged so nicely and marked so we knew what was what and the church just a pretty.
When I walked into the BallRoom I was so Happy I cried again!

Black Iris Floral Event staff did an amazing job with our daughter Amber's wedding. We where so amazed with the flowers it just made everyone so happy. Everyone came to me to find out where we got the flowers and linens came from. Black Iris did everything from invitations , linens, lighting, and flowers. Todd and his team did an incredible job for our wedding in Cape Charles, VA. I gave Todd a few pictures that I liked in the beginning stages, and he really used his creativity to make the venue shine. The centerpieces at our reception were absolutely stunning, as were the other arrangements that he placed around the
bar, cake table, etc. The ceremony arrangements were showstoppers. Our bridal party bouquets and bouttenieres were perfect. Todd was there with his team bright and early to set up, and he even took care of the beautiful pintuck linens for us. He also took the liberty of placing little lanterns on the outdoor tables to make them more inviting. He really paid attention to the little details, and it didn't go unnoticed. Everyone that attended gave us so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding and reception were, and I think that Todd had a huge hand in making our wedding exceed our expectations! I would recommend him to anyone.

Todd did a great job on the floral arrangements, especially the bouquets-they were gorgeous!! He also provided lighting which enhanced the decor and mood of the ceremony and reception rooms. He is well connected and and assisted me with getting linens for my wedding as well. I would recommend his services for weddings or other events.

I enjoyed working with Black Iris and Todd on my wedding very much. I had originally had another florist but after sitting down and talking to Todd, I switched. Their flower arrangements were gorgeous, I had calla lillies and roses for my bouquets and everything was fresh and beautiful. They were there early and promptly began setting up. The linens we ordered were a perfect match to our colors and the candy bar table set up was stunning. Everyone complimented us on it! Thanks Guys for such a wonderful job!!!

Black Iris is THE only florist to go to! Todd and his team are awesome and know what they are doing! The flowers were gorgeous! And not only do they do flowers, they do linens, lights, invites and candy buffet's!! We decided to go ahead and go with the candy buffet for our favors. It was beautiful! I received so many compliments on that. In fact, I got so many compliments on how beautiful Black Iris had made the room look.
It was amazing!!

The flowers were absolutely gorgeous! Todd did such a great job. They arrived early at the venue and had it all put together so beautifully so when I walked in to get ready, I saw these elaborate pieces. The photographs of my wedding speak for themselves. I would recommend their work to anyone. They went above my expectations for such a great price!

I would highly recommend Black Iris Floral Events for your wedding or any other celebration/event. They were amazing, so patient and listened to exactly want I wanted for my wedding. I was so happy with the results and still get complements from my friends and family on the flowers from my reception.

Black Iris was FANTASTIC!!!! All around everyone who worked with Black Iris was amazing. The price was phenominal when the end product was produced. They were extremely flexible regarding any last minute wedding changes and they were very flexible on the day of the wedding when we had a few last minute issues. Nothing was left untouched or forgotten. I personally recieved many compliments from the venue itself regarding the turnout of our wedding flowers and decor. They had never seen such an amazing transformation. Black Iris exceeded my expectations down to the very last detail. Todd, the designer, had a vision that blew my mind. I couldn't wait to see it in all its glory. I can't stress enough how wonderful Black Iris is and I would recommend them to anyone. They take your ideas and make them happen. They really care about you and your day. I recieved multiple phone calls from them to keep me up to date with what they were planning and they really want you to get the biggest bang for your buck. I know everyone gets the initial sticker shock when quoted prices; but when it was all said and done-- I would have paid more. I got great quality work that was timely, flexible, absolutely stunning-- and everything looked like I paid more than I actually did. Black Iris has bride's best interests at heart-- they really want you to be happy with their work and trust that you hired the right people. We were so happy with the final product at the wedding that we asked them to stay and enjoy the night with us. I researched many vendors before meeting with Black Iris and got stressed at the fact that I had to contact so many people in the design and flower business to get what I wanted. When I meet with Todd from Black Iris he said he would take care of everything. Their company not only covers flowers and decor but everything in between. He said he was even available to help with the stress of the final day in making sure everyone was in their right places. I thought he was only going to be working with flowers and decor; but he covered everything; from flowers, candles, cake cascades, cake stands, table centerpieces, lighting during the reception and ceremony, votives, ice sculptures, table covers, chair covers, and he even took care of things that I didn't have time to stress about. His company even set up the venue. I really cannot recommend them enough-- you won't be dissapointed with anything. The best part about Black Iris is that they don't want you to waste your money. I was a bride with big visions and a small budget and Todd actually saved me money with his ideas. He suggested budget friendly design ideas and flower options that still looked expensive and beautiful but didn't hurt my budget. They really want you to be happy about your big day in the end and not be in debt when it's all said and done. I really can't thank them enough for being a huge part of the our big day. You won't be wasting your money or time working with these true professionals.

Todd was great to work with. I lived in a different city from where I was getting married and he took the responsibility and ran with it. It was nice to know that things were getting done even though I was not there. He is very knowledgable and knows a lot of people in the area. He made our dream wedding come true. Thank you Todd!

Todd exceeded my expectations with the decor for the outside wedding and the inside reception. He decorated the tables and the cake! I felt like one of those brides on TV that has spent a million dollars (though I was so far from that). Thank you for making my wedding day perfect! :)

Black Iris was a true life saver. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was left searching for a new florist 2 weeks before my wedding date. The guys at Black Iris stepped right in to help and even met with me on a Sunday afternoon. The final result left me speechless. My bouquet was better than I could have imagined, it embodied all the aspects I described in our initial meeting. The ceremony/reception florals were AWESOME! Guests are still raving about dramatic they were. These guys are awesome and are truly some of the best people to work with. Thanks guys!
