We had a beautiful wedding reception and are above pleased with the service provided. The food was delicious and the layout and setting was beautiful. The staff truly cared about us and our event. Our guests have been raving about the wedding. Thank you Black Gold for a lifetime of memories!

We had the honor of getting married at Black Gold and had a wonderful experience! Every step of the process we felt loved and taken care of. Lauren and Joni the wedding coordinator and venue director are phenomenal people to work with on what can be a very stressful but exciting process! They made sure we did not worry once. We had our wedding at Black Gold Golf Club last month and Joni, Lauren, and Marco were the dream team in executing our special day. From the months before to the day of, Joni was impeccably responsive to all of our questions and absolutely meticulous in helping us plan the details of our wedding. No detail was unaccounted for, including a wedding guest allergy that I had missed. The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect and without any hiccups. Joni and her team were gracious to work with our vendors to accommodate our shifting timeline as we ran ahead of schedule! They were also so attentive to us and made sure we were being fed and stayed hydrated throughout the day.

The venue is absolutely gorgeous for a summer socal wedding and we cannot say enough about the delicious food at this venue. Our wedding guests could not stop raving about it! Overall, this was a special wedding venue for our special day and we could not have had a more perfect day without Joni and her team.

We just had our wedding at Black Gold this past Saturday and let me tell you, it was the best experience ever. This was one of the biggest moments of our lives and Joni, Lauren and Marco were responsible for making this special day perfect and amazing. My Florist was pretty late, not knowing if they were going to show up at all Joni actually went to a local florist to give me a bouquet and a boutonniere for my fiancé. They did everything in their power to keep me from being unhappy with anything. We had the plated dinner, steak and chicken which was delicious. The bartender was amazing and kept our guests happy. This by far was one of the best weddings I ever attended, lol. We are truly grateful to Black Gold, Joni, Lauren, and Marco for making our Wedding so perfect 💕

Where should I even begin, the amazing team, the food, the crew Joni, Lauren, and Marco made our wedding the best day of our lives. It has been over a week and our guests are still talking about how beautiful, fun, and perfect our wedding was. Not to mention how impressed everyone was with the food. We had a plated dinner service of steak or chicken. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare for every single person! We were shocked at how the kitchen was able to pull that off for over 100 guests. I know people will be talking about our wedding years from now and it is all because of Black Gold. The entire place is a picture perfect stage for a dream wedding. They even allowed our dog to be part of our bog day, which we were over the moon about. We had lots of decorations for the day and did not really plan it out or tell Joni/Lauren how we wanted things and they made everything look better than I had imagined. The reception room was more than what I had pictured. Everything was even better than I had could dream up! Perhaps we’ll have our baby shower or anniversary at Black Gold. We are truly grateful for our incredible wedding, thanks to Black Gold. Also, shoutout to Marco— anytime my husband and I were without a drink, he magically appeared at our service, this was pre-wedding, post ceremony, during photos and the reception. My husband and I both wish we could do it all over again.

Joni and her staff are more than amazing!!! From the 1st meeting to the end of our reception they were there to answer any questions, give suggestions and made sure we enjoyed everything!!

We were very satisfied with the service Black Gold GC provided for our daughters wedding. I am a wedding planner and have worked at a lot of different venues, and Black Gold Golf Club truly stands out! It is a gorgeous venue with a lovely spaces, stunning views, and an amazing staff. The outside ceremony space is beautiful, the reception area is spacious, and there are numerous locations to take perfect photos to remember your day. Joni, Lauren, Marco, and their whole team are so on top of it and extremely professional. They are communicative, easy to work with, and know how to run a successful event. I got married at Black Gold Golf Club on 4.22.23 and it was perfect! This was the first and only venue my husband and I visited. We wanted somewhere we could have both the ceremony and reception. The location was beautiful and the cost was very reasonable compared to other venues we contacted. Joni, Lauren, Marco and all the staff were great. Joni was our point of contact for the entire process and she made things go so smooth for us. Wedding planning is stressful, but when you have someone like Joni it gets a lot easier. THANK YOU JONI!! Everything about our day went smoothly. The food was delicious and all of our guests said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. One of our favorite parts of the day was getting to ride around in the golf carts. My bridesmaids, flower girls and I were carted to the ceremony site and then my husband and I were carted up the hill to take photos. They treated us so well on our day and went above and beyond for us. Here are a few examples of how they did that. It was warm that day and Marco brought us water and lemonade multiple times. He even put a straw in a water bottle and would bring it to me in between pictures. He also bustled my dress when my maid of honor couldn't figure it out. He's a man of many talents! They also made sure we ate by bringing my husband and groomsmen wings and nachos and my bridesmaids a charcuterie board before the ceremony and then appetizers after the ceremony. These are just a few instances of what we experienced. I'm so happy we went with Black Gold Golf Club! They helped us have the perfect day!

Black Gold is an amazing venue! Not only does it boast incredibly dreamy views but Joni (venue manager) and the entire staff are just so incredibly sweet, professional, caring, and easy to work with. I had my wedding here in October 2022 and I am so grateful I chose Black Gold. Everything went off with a hitch and our guests were blown away by the views, the venue ambiance, and the UH-MAZING food. I couldn't have done it without Joni and her amazing staff. Let's start by saying that we are not a young couple. Our ages add up to more than 100 years old. The staff at Black Gold was super patient with our slightly unconventional wedding. Joni and Lauren were super helpful walking us through the entire process, We could not have had a better experience! Our wedding was a raging blast! I have received so many compliments on the venue and especially the food! One of my guests said that the food was a 12 out of 10! Our pictures turned out absolutely beautiful and Joni went out of her way to take us to different locations to get the best shot. The venue was perfect and our guests had an amazing time. Joni also contacted us with the BEST DJ ever...Steve Burdick. A big shout out to Marco who went out of his way to give us a extra special attention.

Joni was our coordinator along with Lauren and both of them were FANTASTIC with planning up to the day and the day of. There's always the usual little things that come up with weddings and Joni was there every step of the way and helped take alot of the stress off my back. Marco was I believe the head of staff the day of and he took care of things that I didn't even know till after! He made sure my husband and I always had our favorite drinks and we had everything we needed. The staff is all very sweet and made this wedding a great experience!

My wife and I got married in January. We chose Black Gold as our location for our reception. It was the best decision we could have made. The entire experience was exceptional. Even during the planning phase, we were happily surprised. Joni, the wedding coordinator was a true pleasure to work with. She was very attentive to our needs; she gave suggestions when we asked for it. Black Gold has has plethora of decorating options, which made planning our dream reception possible. She allowed us to come by multiple times before the reception, which allowed us to finalize our vision for the wedding reception.

Our favorite meeting was when we had the chance to taste the delicious food provided by their executive chef. It was of great help to be able to have our decorations given to Black Gold the day before and have them set them up perfectly. Joni did an amazing job coordinating with all of our vendors. She even went out of her way to print out something of ours at the last minute.

The day of wedding was filled with more joy. We were greeted by Joni and her assistant Marco with food and water. Marco was very attentive to our needs throughout the day; he was always asking if we needed beverages or food. Thank you Marco.

My fiancé and I knew we wanted an outside wedding ceremony and looked at almost all of them in SoCal. We ended up choosing Black Gold Golf Club because their outdoor space was the perfect spot for us. The views of the hills from the arbor made a beautiful backdrop for our pictures. You can't even tell you're on a golf course from their outdoor venue space. Joni was great to work with from the start. She was super responsive and flexible with anything we needed. She made planning a breeze! Marco also helped on the day of and they are a dream team to work with. Joni even took us to a beautiful picture spot for our sunset photos.

My husband and I held our wedding at Black Gold Golf course on 11/20/21. As a wedding that was planned during COVID, we had been in contact with Joni for almost a year and a half prior. She was always so responsive and professional in her planning skills. While our engagement was on the longer side, we never felt like we were left in the dark and she always would remind us of the planning timeline and the next things we would have to do.

On the day of our wedding when we arrived for our reception (we had our ceremony at a separate location), Joni and Marco were ready and made the perfect dynamic duo. While Marco helped ensure the cocktail hour went smoothly for our guests, Joni had the golf cart ready to drive my husband, photographer, and videographer to all the beautiful locations in this golf course. The photos don't do this place justice! There are so many picturesque spots - whether the waterfall, the top of the hill overlooking the entire golf course and clubhouse, or even the dainty white picket fence. We had a blast hopping in and out of the golf cart to take photos.

After our photo session, the reception was flawlessly executed. As an avid planner, I had planned everything from the grand entrances, speeches, etc. down to the minute and the execution was on point! Furthermore, the appetizer and dinner service were phenomenal! Our guests commented that normally wedding food is pretty mediocre and unmemorable but that they would remember how amazing our food tasted (beef wellington + ahi tuna hor deourves were to die for!), and the chicken was cooked to perfection.

Whenever things go smoothly, it's always so easy to take things for granted. However, as we reflect on our wedding, it truly was the joint effort of Joni, Marco, the rest of the BG staff and our vendors that our wedding was the perfect evening for us. We love you guys!

We originally had our wedding planned for April but moved to July due to Covid. Black Gold and Joni were so accommodating and work with us through everything. The venue itself is beautiful and affordable. I loved the ceremony site. My husband cannot say enough about Marcos and how much he helped on our wedding day. If you're looking for your DREAM wedding - this is the PERFECT venue to have it! Joni - the event planner and day of coordinator has the eye for every attention to detail AND holds to the day of timeline. Marco - the captain running the execution of the food, drinks and service was beyond exceptional of making sure the day was beautiful. We had to postpone our wedding from 7/11/20 due to COVID to 7/17/21 and the wait was so worth it! Our day was beyond everything we ever dreamt of and this team made it all come to life. We had so much fun on our BIG day! We were looking for a golf course venue that would allow us to actually take pictures on the golf course and a bonus is we got a free four-some to play here! The perfect venue to have our wedding. The property is absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious and unique but even better was the service of Joni, the coordinator, and all the staff. They took care of everything and watched us constantly to see what we needed before we even knew we needed it. My husband and I felt like we had our own personal assistants. They went above and beyond to serve us and our guests and made our event run so smoothly. Joni was so patient in the planning stages as we changed our minds often. Black Gold Golf Club is a hidden gem ! It is a beautiful venue for weddings- you will get awesome scenery photos high above OC. There is a lake and waterfall as well. The food is superb and the staff was very attentive. Arthur ( our main bartender) was exceptional. There was no need to have an additional wedding planner as Joni took care of all the details. She is very knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Overall, you can not go wrong with this venue !

I looked for months to find different venues for my wedding and this was the best one!!! I just had my wedding here on 8/17/19 and everything was amazing!! Liz was amazing throughout this process and her team on the day of the wedding. She worked with me and was so flexible and provide great guidance! The price for our wedding was very affordable which is the first reason why I picked this venue, the view was amazing (was very quite and no noise from streets or hear people playing golf), and the food was to die for!! After the wedding all of my family and friends came up to me and told me how amazing the food was! There were no bad dishes or anything over or under cooked. If I had to get married again I would choose Black Gold again. From start to finish everything was amazing!!! We had no problems with any of the vendors getting or coming to the venue and Liz was a great coordinator with everyone. 10/10!!

This review is for Liz & Cara who assisted with all my wedding planning here at Black Gold. I recently got married on April 13, 2019 & held my ceremony at Black Gold. I cannot express how amazing my ceremony was and the entire process that lead to my dream wedding. From the moment I contacted Cara for venue information she was soo informative, so sweet, & so trustworthy. My husband and I didn’t look elsewhere after we visited black gold. We completely fell in love with the ceremony venue! When we signed the contract Cara informed us what exactly we were paying for and that we had the option to pay a little extra to have a coordinator during the wedding day, i completely agreed and paid for the coordinator which is where Liz comes in. Ohh my god! Liz was more than I could ever asked for. She was on top of everything up until the wedding, & the day of the wedding she was remarkable!!! Everyone was asking where I hired her! Liz made my day that much more special, she was so sweet, so calm, & just made everything run so smoothly. I can’t find the words of to express how amazing she was. My wedding ceremony was beautiful, Liz & Cara were more than awesome, & I am so thankful for everything they assisted with making my day that much more of a dream. We just got married here, and we loved every single thing about this venue! The coordinator, Liz Garcia, is everyyyyything! She’s sweet, professional, helpful, to just amazing and great at what she does! She answered any questions we had quickly and took care of any and everything we wanted. Marco, who helped the day of the wedding, was so incredible. He helped make sure everything looked amazing and ran smoothly! He took such great care of us. Also, the food and views here are amazing! We got so many compliments on dinner and how beautiful the venue was. I would recommend Black Gold to any and everyone I know, not just for weddings, but any event!

I cannot say enough positive things about Black Gold, Liz, and the entire staff! I had my wedding there in April and it was absolutely amazing! Everything went perfectly and so smoothly throughout the entire process. Liz was incredible to work with, she is super quick to respond and always has the nicest and sweetest attitude when working with diva brides ☺️. The venue was stunning with their flowers blooming at the ceremony site and in the hills behind. We had numerous guests comment on how delicious the food was for the appetizers and the main buffet that was provided. Our wedding could not have gone any smoother and turned out any more beautiful than it did with the help of Black Gold and their entire team!

We wanted an outdoor ceremony so this was the perfect place to have it. The view was beautiful and because of that, our wedding pictures turned out great. The coordinators were very friendly, helpful and attentive. On the day of our wedding, it was slightly raining so the coordinators gave us the option to still have it outdoors or they can set up indoors. It was a reliever to know especially on your wedding day that we still had an option due to the weather. Beautiful venue!!

This was my first experience with Black Gold. We just held out company holiday party there last week. I’m very picky when it comes to decorations and seeing my vision come to life. I came in there as early as I was allowed for set up. The moment I walked in Marco, Liz and Taylor were there catering to all of my requests. They knew I was stressed and worried about getting everything set up on time. I showed them 1 table and how I wanted it decorated. I set up the basic dessert table with my trays and decore and gave a little direction as to what I was looking for. With that, they made sure EVERY SINGLE DETAIL was executed perfectly!! Liz even reminded me to stop working on everything and go get myself ready, as she had heard my timer go off for that purpose. I walked around the room when we were all done, before our first guest arrived, and took in the entire view. I was in awe and what a wonderful job the staff did for us!!! It was amazing to see my vision brought to life.

Not only is the staff amazing and attentive, I couldn’t believe how delicious the food was! Definitely no rubber chicken at this venue! I heard nothing but positive feedback from all of our guests. I can’t wait to go back to Black Gold!

Black Gold Golf has been nothing short of amazing! They are very responsive to my (many) questions and emails. They are flexible with multiple package options to meet your budget needs. When I first went to check out the venue a year ago, I met with Elizabeth and she gave me a tour of the venue. I instantly loved the ceremony area, and I also instantly loved Elizabeth! She was warm, kind, and very passionate about her venue and her role.

Every other potential wedding venue I had checked out up until that point (and believe me, I checked out a lot of places!) made me feel like I was being nickle and dimed for everything...but Elizabeth made me feel completely opposite. She made me feel taken care of instantly and was willing to work with me and my budget to make me happy. It was a very easy decision for me to have my wedding here, thanks to her!!

Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Elizabeth was AWESOME. She was on top of it! She always happily answered any question I had, helped me with timelines and provided a lot of suggestions and options during my planning process.

She was also amazing on the day of. From making sure guests were seated on time, to driving us around in the golf cart for pictures - she made sure our event was perfect from start to finish.

The food here at this venue is delicious! We received so many compliments on the food - even from the simple dinner rolls to the main courses!

The venue itself is a hidden gem with a beautiful ceremony area, terrace and bar room for cocktaiil hour, and large indoor ballroom for the reception. You also get to decorate the entire lobby area and put up signs and pictures.

A venue to remember! My wedding could have not been more perfect! The team at Black Gold are true experts when it comes to putting on a great event. It was the best night of my life. The food was so tasty and one of the many things everyone is still talking about. The coordination was a success due to the on site coordinator Liz Mahler. She was on top of everything all night as well as the year planning process. My family is so pleased with the turnout and we look back at our pictures with such excitement. The staff, the view, and the atmosphere could not have been better. A big shout out to Liz and the Black Gold employees who made such a difference!

My wife and I had our wedding at Black Gold this past July. The entire team at Black Gold was amazing! Liz and Rachel did a spectacular job in helping us plan and execute the special day. Originally the wedding ceremony was to be hosted outside, but on the day of the wedding it rained! Who would have thought of rain in July during such a dry year? Liz and the team seamlessly moved the ceremony inside and dealt with the adversity so well. Our guests (and of course my wife and I) were extremely impressed with the indoor ceremony location and said what a wonderful job the team at Black Gold did setting it up! The golf course provides wonderful spots for photos. The scenery is spectacular and provides an amazing backdrop.

Chef Gustavo and his team cooked some of the most delicious food we have ever tasted. Everyone was raving about the meals during dinner! The whole reception set up in the ballroom was incredible!

After the wedding, our guests could not stop talking about the amazing job the entire team at Black Gold did. The team is full of true professionals and we are grateful for making our wedding truly memorable!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Black Gold Golf Course and all their employees! Liz Mahler and staff are so attentive, helpful, friendly, and every nice thing you can say about anyone! One my wedding day, California unexpectedly had rain that turned out to be the wettest day in July. We unfortunately were not able to use their breathtaking ceremony site that we fell in love with. Instead Liz and her staff one hour before the ceremony was to start, in the pouring rain, brought in and dried all the chairs and turned their lobby into a beautiful runway type ceremony alter with views of the beautiful hillside. You never would have known this was a last minute effort job. Everything was seamless and more importantly, the guests didn't have a clue the ceremony was not supposed to be there.
Come cocktail hour, as our bridal party, my new husband, and I went outside (at this time it was barely sprinkling) to take pictures, our guests enjoyed the bar and cocktail hour food. We had the international cheese and cracker display, teriyaki meatballs, bacon wrapped scallops, and their caprezi skewer. Everyone was so impressed with the food and the staff. They were also able to watch the bridal party and us on the patio as we were taking pictures and being taken around the golf course on a golf cart. Our guests really enjoyed that!
Our reception went off without a hitch! Our guests LOVED the food! Everyone wanted seconds it was so good! Black Gold also accommodating with our Vegan and Vegetarian guests. Our guests were able to enjoy BBQ Chicken, Salmon, and Tri Tip and our Vegans and Vegetarians were able to enjoy a tofu stack with pasta.
I can go on for pages of how wonderful my wedding day turned out unexpected rain and all.
The best thing I can say about Black Gold, is that it I get a chance to hold another event, I will go back to Black Gold in a heartbeat!

When our daughter and fiance chose Black Gold Golf Club, we began their Wedding reception planning with Megan. She was eager to help make this a day to remember. After a while, we discovered Megan had moved on and Callie was our new coordinator. Callie fit in immediately and she worked great with us all. My daughter living out of state was challenging, but Callie made it all run easily and smoothly. The Black Gold facility is fabulous with great golf course views and city light views at night. We were impressed from the beginning with the Golf course, the friendliness of Callie and staff. We had such a fun evening Reception at Black Gold. Everything was exactly as our daughter hoped, the room, atmosphere, food, everything was amazing. Our guests continue to compliment us on such a lovely evening. We were very pleased to work with Callie and after all was done, she's like family.

I had a beautiful wedding here. I chose them because they were the most reasonably priced for a full-service provider (venue, food, tables, chairs, ceremony site, etc.) The venue is absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony site is breathtaking. All of our photos turned out amazing. They treated me like royalty, and were very flexible and working with me and my budget, and my many mishaps that happened. Their food was so delicous, everyone raved about it. They really work with you to customize your wedding the way you want it. Callie is amazing to work with. I was very happy with my wedding and would highly recommend them to anyone!

I had my wedding back in January of 2014. My husband and I wanted to stay in Yorba Linda to pay tribute to the beautiful town he grew up in. We looked at the 3 different venues around the area and Black Gold had the best options including the most beautiful views. I was the kind of bride that didn’t like looking at 100 different types of lines, cakes, tables settings etc. I had a vision and it was so easy to execute when Black Gold provided most of the services. It was a one-stop shop and with my busy schedule that is all I had time for.

I wouldn’t be writing this review hadn’t not been for our ROCKSTAR day coordinator Callee. She helped us plan everything from the layout to the timeline. She went above her job description, to this day I feel horrible for not being the most organized bride. But what I didn’t do she filled in the gaps, I brought her the escort cards out of order she took the time to alphabetized each one so that guest could easily find. Days before the wedding I would email her -she was extremely responsive she immediately responded with an answer or a suggestion. She contacted all my vendors beforehand and made sure to give them set-up times and direction. She and her team handled everything so seamlessly that if there were any hiccups happening behind the scenes I had no idea because I wasn’t bothered with one issue. We went with served butler style, the food was warm the service was impeccable. For every bride that doesn’t want to work with 20 different vendors, Black Gold is your best choice.

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Black Gold Golf Club on February 28, 2014. Megan was our coordinator throughout the entire process and probably the only reason I did not loose my mind. She was so reliable and considerate of every detail that we wanted. I do not think we could have found a better coordinator than Megan, she was amazing every time we met with her and dealt with her over the phone. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, even though it rained and we had to move the ceremony inside. Our guests loved everything about the venue, the food, the view, and the best staff. My husband and I first picked the venue because of the view from the ceremony space, and unfortunately we did not get to use the space because of the rain. Everything we could have ever wanted in a wedding, was offered and delivered to us at Black Gold. My husband is a self proclaimed foodie and was very picky about any venue food offered, but Black Gold passed with flying colors. Our food on the wedding day was such a hit with our guests, we saw many clean plates on the tables. We especially loved all the packages that were offered to us in the beginning of the process. There is something for everyone at Black Gold. My husband and I would definitely recommend Black Gold to anyone, and cannot wait until we go back for any occasion!

Julie booked and helped us with all the budgeting details and Madelon was our wedding coordinator for all the details. Madelon was amazing. she was beyond professional and if I had any questions through out the entire process and up to our big day. She was just an email or phone call away and usually responded the same day within a few minutes to a couple hours. It definitely helped with making myself, as a bride, the ability to be able to have her there whenever to answer any questions. Our big day went beyond smoothly and any problems, Madelon was on top of them. It was stress free and I can definitely say our big day was PERFECT thanks to Black Gold Golf Club. Black Gold is a beautiful country club. We had been looking at other places and as soon as I was driving up the hill, the view was breathtaking. We met with Julie Spencer, who was beyond helpful and nice. She answered all our questions. My husband and I had other venue appointments, but nothing compared. We called Julie back to book. I worked with Madelyn (Julie's assistant) who was extremely nice and helpful. She always had ideas and was always making sure I was happy. She was very professional and always got to back to in a very timely manner. The food was provided also by Black Gold and it was amazing as well. I got so many compliments on my food. Everything about Black Gold is amazing. It was perfect!

Julie at Black Gold did a wonderful job with my ceremony. I barely had to do anything and she took care of everything, My day went perfectly and it wouldn't have been the same without her help. She helped my photographer get great pictures and was super friendly and helpful. If I could do it all over again I would, again, again, and again!!

My husband and I went to a several venues trying to find the perfect place for our reception. We were looking for a place that not only had a ballroom but would also work for pictures as well. Black Gold provided both of those but that isn't the only reason we chose Black Gold. There was a miscommunication about our first appointment to look at the venue but when we should up and no one was there from the wedding staff another staff member from Black Gold showed us around and then Amy, the food and beverage manager, showed us the ballroom and went over some things with us. When we rescheduled to meet with Julie she was very apologetic about the miscommunication and was very friendly and easy to be around. She wasn't pushy with trying to get us to sign and put our date on hold to give us time to discuss our options. After careful thought and comparisons with other venues we chose Black Gold.

Whenever we went to Black Gold throughout the year after signing our contract and leading us to the wedding the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Julie was very good about emailing me back whenever I had questions.

The day of Julie was above and beyond helpful. I couldn't have asked for the day to go better when it came to the venue. I can't wait to see our professional pictures that were taking around the gold course. It is a beautiful place to have a wedding! I have had so many family members and friends tell me how friendly and polite the staff was. I have only heard good things about the staff and everyone loved the food.

I loved having our Wedding at Black Gold! Everything was so beautiful and very professional. I coud not of asked for a better day on the hottest day of the year. The only thing our guests said was the line was too long to get a drink during the cocktail hour and hopefully in the future they will have more bar staff. Our crowd were big drinkers too. :)

My husband and I had our wedding (ceremony and reception) at Black Gold this past October. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, it's like something out of a dream. The food was so delicious and had many options to choose from. Madelon and Julie were absolutely great and VERY helpful! They emailed back answers to my questions either the same day or next day and were very flexible and responsive to our needs. Our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more, we couldn't have asked for anything else. All of our guests had nothing but compliments and nice words to say about the venue, food, and staff. Finding the perfect wedding reception venue is tough and my fiance' and I looked at or inquired about 15 locations. When we went to Black Gold Golf Club and met with Julie Spencer we knew right then and there that this was the place for us!!! She was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, professional, caring and genuine about our vision. She showed us around and walked us through how the event would go. The banquet hall had a beautiful view of the waterfall, greens, the hillside, and overlooked the city. We saw it at sunset and it was breathtaking. She offered very helpful advise and met all our needs for a perfect day.

We met with Julie several times throughout the planning process and she was ALWAYS friendly, happy, and sincere about our special day. She returned emails and phone calls immediately with answers to our questions. Shortly before our wedding date, we received an email from Rhonda (the new wedding coordinator) and we met with both her and Julie to go over our final appointment information. Ronda was very friendly and worked side by side with Julie on our wedding reception plans. We were happy to have 2 people running our special day and it turned out wonderfully!

Couples get overwhelmed planning a wedding.... Julie made us feel at ease by her confidence, and experience. She went above and beyond to make this day a success.

We received so many compliments about our reception location and how smooth and how the day/evening flowed. The food was great, the decor and set up of the dining room, lobby, and outdoor cocktail area were colorful and the staff was friendly and attentive to the wedding party and guests. We could not have picked a better venue and with Julie as our coordinator, we indeed did have the perfect wedding reception.

I can only echo all the positive things said below about Julie and Black Gold Golf Club. Julie is downright AMAZING and AWESOME with her customer service and YES - SHE DOES CARE. She was very friendly, easy to get a hold of, very responsive, and extremely professional at all times.

With many venues referrals from our friends, we were warned that once we signed the paperwork, all negotiations are out the door. You're on the ship, and the ship has left the dock was what we were warned. I will say that, undeniably, Julie is an exception to that rule. She worked with us as our situation changed and we took on stress.

My wife and I also had an Eastern Indian wedding (like the review below) and we used the ceremony site that's part of Black Gold. It was extremely perfect. We were actually on the site during one wedding and got to see Julie in action - she runs a very tight ship with her staff. Additionally, the bartender (unfortunately, I forgot his name, I believe Eric or Ryan or something..sorry!), was great at serving my friends, cutting off the one or two EXTREMELY drunk people (they started drinking at 10am) in a very polite fashion that didn't upset anyone. Pure skills!

Back to Julie - if your needs work with what Black Gold has to offer (reception room for 220 or less), then I cannot recommend them ENOUGH. Stop looking, call Julie, and book it! :-)

Our outside caterer had zero problems dealing with staff as well. We needed an Indian caterer so Black Gold's in-house service did not work for us. However, I have sampled Black Gold's food and it's definitely worth while as well. Very good if you want non-Indian food.

I just had my East Indian wedding at Black Gold Golf Club and the event was absolutely beautiful and a success in nearly every way. You can get everything at this place: beautiful scenery around you, a outdoor wedding site that is out of this world, flexibility to have your dream wedding, and an amazing staff and wedding coordinator who really CARE about you and your guests. The guests continue to rave about our wedding and I encourage all brides having a wedding in Southern California to make an appointment and meet Julie ASAP!! Best of luck :)

What can I say, Julie is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Whatever we wanted, Julie delivered. We looked at almost every golf course in southern California and Black Gold has the BEST ceremony site, hands down. To top that off, they have an amazingly friendly staff, including bartenders, and a top notch facility. With a view of the 18th hole on a summer afternoon as the sun sets, we couldn't ask for anything more. If Black Gold is one of your options, do NOT hesitate!

I just had my wedding at Black Gold on April 10th, 2010. Julie and Black Gold were by far one of my favorite vendors to work with. She was accomodating to the point where my husband and I were borderline shocked. Julie took care of everything... and thought of everything. The wedding day went by without a single issue. (which is pretty unheard of). The employees at Black Gold always made sure we always had a drink in hand, we were eating, and we were comfortable. I have to say that I had an absolute BLAST at my wedding. The food was delicious. We had so many compliments about the food that was served during cocktail hour and at the reception. I am so happy to have picked Black Gold. It was beautiful.

Julie, the wedding coordinator, and her assistant, Natalie were so great to work with. They took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They kept track of my drinks, my food, dessert - EVERYTHING! The staff was very pleasant to us and I could tell that the guests had a great time. The food was good, the place clean and sparkly. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect reception venue for the fun wedding that we planned.

The whole planning process was wonderful. I booked the venue a year ago and Julie has been great to work with. She's fast on answering my questions and did not get annoyed one bit.

Overall, reasonable prices, great service, and a wonderful experience!!!

I was soo excited to have my wedding at Black Gold, and it lived up to all my expectations! My girlfriend got married at Black Gold a few years ago and I knew that BG was the place I wanted to get married when that time came. The staff, food and setting was perfect. You are overlooking Orange County and the sunsets are breathtaking. Plus, having an on-site coordinator (Julie) makes the biggest difference in the world. It was honestly my dream wedding...

I had a coordinator, Julie Spencer, she was GREAT. She was worth every penny. She made sure I had the best wedding possible. Very easy to work with and she was always trying her best and service with a smile. There was nothing I asked for that did not happen or at least she tried. Very well coordinated and had a schedule that she follwed. I would recommend her to anyone. the venue was very well decorated and she made sure fo that. The food was great. My fiance and I met with the cheff a couple of months prior to taste all of the food and make our selections.

Simply Amazing! Sarrah, the venues wedding coordinator, was our most valuable asset in our planning and day of. Her guidance and flexibility made the process smooth and seamless. Costs were beyond reasonable for the quality and quantity of items. We chose to have a buffet (150 people) and Sarrah helped us pick a variety of food representing both cultures. Cake was included and outsourced to a vendor in Orange.

We highly recommend this venue. Not only is it amazing for the reasons stated above, it is in a premier location. It is tucked away from major streets and provides an added level of privacy. A few months prior to our ceremony, their new outdoor wedding setting was opened and it is simply beautiful! The banquet hall attaches to the lounge-like bar area which housed the chocolate fountain (which came with our package).

Cannot sing Black Gold's praises enough! Truly made our experenience perfect from day 1.

Kathy and Megan helped make my wedding day seamless and easy for me! I had planned my wedding all on my own and the vision I had created they helped to implement. Shortly after I had booked my wedding with Black Gold-there was a staffing change which is why I knocked of .5 star for responsiveness because that time was a bit of a stressful time between me finding out of the staff change before they were able to reach out to me, but their response to my concerns were phenomenal and the relationship built after that was amazing. The girls catered to exactly what I needed, and were very supportive with everything!! Kathy during the rehearsal and on the day of was beyond amazing. She handled everything and was completely in control and was flawless. If I could take her everywhere with me, my life would be perfect! The views are phenomenal and the food is fantastic, but I really think the service makes this place worth every penny!

My husband and I absolutely loved Black Gold. From the Coordinator to the staff, everything was impecable. I knew I was in great hands with Julie, our Coordinator. The only thing I was not crazy about was the small bridal room. But for me the other things out weighed the bridal room. When I look back at my wedding I don't really care about the bridal room. This venue/golf club is truly amazing! From the spectacular views of Orange County to the people working there, everything about this place is really special! My husband and I recently had our wedding reception there and it was honestly one of the best decisions we've made when we were planning for our wedding. Joni is so great and easy to work with, that she (with the help of her wonderful staff) made us feel so comfortable and so welcomed every time we visited the golf club. The stresses of planning a wedding, especially the reception, can be a bit overwhelming but Joni was always so attentive along the way in making sure that they had everything covered, which gave us so much relief. And best of all, they worked so well with our own vendors that everything was so seamless! The venue itself did not disappoint! Cocktail hour, dinner, and a big enough room for dancing and good times were beyond exceptional! Our guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, especially with nice views of the city and some parts of the golf course. We definitely made some core memories here and I believe that my husband and I will for sure be visiting this place more and catch up with Joni and her staff for years to come!

I scheduled an appointment to view this property with Cara and fell in love with it. Liz was our coordinator and helped me with everything, I don’t know what I would have done without her! On our wedding day everything ran so smoothly. The decor was beautiful, food delicious and service excellent. Marco was one of the staff members that went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. My guests and I had an amazing time. I felt the pricing was fair and they offer a lot of options as far as menus, they also allowed me to bring in Hawaiian dancers which made our reception so fun. I highly recommend this venue.

New events manager Gina Homick. I think she was so much better than Liz. She was amazing on my wedding day and made it run incredibly smooth. Staff was professional. The venue was absolutely beautiful.

I cannot say enough about how we were treated. Black Gold is a class act facility. Cathy was our coordinator, and she was awesome. A wedding can be extremely stressful and she was with me every step of the way. The food was excellent, even though I didn't eat due to too much excitment. My husband really enjoyed it and our guests told us after that it was all really good.
I a nutshell, our Wedding was like a fairytale dream come true. We loved every minute of the day and the sunset was just amazing.

A friend of mine had her and her husband's wedding here. When my hubby and I got engaged, we started looking for venues and this was the first venue we visited since it was familiar and my friend really liked this place.

When we did the tour, Julie Spencer, was really friendly and out going. She showed us the tour of the reception and ceremony locations. When I mentioned I really liked chiavari chairs, she was so nice to offer us the chairs for free! (normally, it's an upgrade of $7-10/chair). Overall, after our tour, hubby and I really liked how friendly she was and felt like we could get great service if we booked with them.

After looking at other reception venues and meeting other directors, we didn't feel as welcomed and valued as Julie did for us. So, we ended up booking with Black Gold!

In the beginning, we booked with Julie but ended up getting Madelon as our wedding coordinator. A wedding coordinator fee is mandatory, $400, at the time we booked. But I think it's worth to have a coordinator on the day of the wedding! You won't feel as stressed.

Madelon did a great job on the day of our wedding. Julie and Madelon were pretty good with responding to our e-mails. Sometimes, it seemed like they didn't get our emails but they were probably bombarded with lots of brides e-mailing them it probably got lost in all of that! Also, the wedding coordinator does all the stuff related to Black Gold - tastings, day of wedding coordination, setting up candles/votives/pictures, trouble-shooting on the day of, and coordinating with your vendors. She doesn't do center pieces or hanging of non-Black Gold related decorations.

There were a few requests we wanted and some mix-ups but they were very nice to make sure we were happy and made up for it by giving us some free appetizers on the day of our wedding!

For the reception venue, you cannot hang anything on the walls with staples or tape since it is not allowed by the City of Yorba Linda, I think.

Food: It was delicious! We got salmon and the stuffed flank steak and our guests told me they enjoyed the food very much! It was also very filling!

Service: Great service. I think they try really hard to please the Bride and Groom. :)

A few things to improve on:
-I think probably a little bit more organization for the day of wedding rehearsal and wedding. I had given the information to Madelon when we met before the rehearsal but I think she confused me with another bride. And the day of the wedding, the schedule seemed different from what we gave the DJ so he was a little confused! But, it still worked out in the end.
-Cake: I wasn't a fan of the cake too much. It comes with the package but it was just ok.
-Complimentary golf passes are included in your wedding packages. Hubby wanted to play on a weekend, but we found out it is only valid Monday-Thursday. So, complimentary passes are not valid for weekends. You might be able to get a "discount" for the weekend. Hubby was kinda disappointed because he really wanted to play on the weekend with our passes!

Overall, I think Black Gold is a beautiful venue. Great food. Good service. I would definitely recommend them! I'm so glad we booked them before their prices went up!!

Overall, Black Gold is just wonderful!! Julie was great in getting us started, and Madelon definitely helped us through the process. The ground is kept beautiful - so no complaints there! It may be a bit too small for a wedding over 175, but other than that, it's highly recommended. My husband and I are very happy that we went with Black Gold. =)

We had a great experience at Black Gold. The views are breathtaking and it has a nice balance or vast but intimate. It is a beautiful venue and they were great with working with us on our wedding which included 2 ceremonies and a reception. We had a couple of hitches for example, where we were not told about some food-safety rules until the day of, which made us have to throw away food we had gotten for our guests. It's unclear what happened there but it was definitely the exception because for the most part the team and especially Liz were very helpful and supportive. I would highly recommend!

This venue is beautiful and the staff do a great job- our guests raved about everything! Food was great!

Callie Beebee was THE BEST coordinator they have on this site! She was helpful in every way imaginable! We had a great time at my wedding! She's always available to call if I ever had any questions. The rehearsal also ran smoothly..despite have a huge group with crazy men. Lol. But Callie was fantastic and I recommend HER to run your wedding or any event!!

We booked our wedding with Black Gold over a year in advance for the ceremony only. My husband golfs and I wanted a beautiful venue so we decided to book here. We didn’t have the reception at Black Gold though because we had too many guests to fit into the reception area. Megan was our contact person from the beginning. She took her time with responding to questions throughout the year leading up to the wedding which was pretty frustrating for a bride. Later it turns out a bunch of her emails got returned to me and there was something wrong with the email address. I was trying to confirm a rehearsal date and time but unfortunately they couldn’t do that too far in advance in the case of another event etc. This made it very difficult to plan a rehearsal dinner when you didn’t know when the rehearsal would be. Megan was nice but she wasn’t the most helpful person and did not go out of her way to help you with any concerns you had.
Luckily, our day of coordinator was Kathy and I met her about a week or so before my wedding. She was very nice and very detail oriented which for a bride like me is a huge relief. We discussed all the details that was going to happen at the rehearsal and the wedding day.
People always say every wedding day doesn’t go perfectly and my wedding day definitely fell into that category. The groom ended up showing up at Black Gold when my bridesmaids and I were supposed to be taking pictures outside and this stressed me out like no other because I did not want the groom to see me in my dress. Kathy made sure he walked straight pass my bridal suite and was inside the bar area facing a direction that was not looking outside while we did our pictures. About 40 minutes before the ceremony, we realized my veil was not there and still at the hotel in Costa Mesa. Kathy found someone in our family to leave right away to go back and get the veil. She also got me a shot to calm down and some cheese and crackers since I haven’t eaten. Kathy did great!

The venue was absolutely gorgeous. The food was incredible. Every one was very friendly. However, we thought every thing was going to go so smoothly, because that's what our wedding coordinator kept telling us. The day finally comes, and more than half the time, she was NOWHERE to be found. The DJ had to keep asking us if we wanted to do the next event in line because he couldn't find the coordinator. We couldn't either. I had to go up to some random person that worked there and asked them to cut the cake. I felt this was something the bride shouldn't have had to worry about. We paid for 3 hours of open bar and they tried to charge our guests after one hour. The coordinator forgot we paid for the extra and had to go look at the receipts. It was just little things that I wish she would have taken care of like she promised. Instead people were coming up to us. Which stressed me out at our own reception.
