Best caterer we could ask for!

We are so happy we chose Bittersweet Catering for our daughter's wedding. Laura and her staff are fantastic to work with are were supportive and accommodating during the planning process. Fabulous Caterer

I cannot express how much we loved Laura and company! Everything they touched was absolutely divine. I couldn't have asked for anyone to grasp our tastes so perfectly! The food was outrageously good. The cake was just as I wanted. Bittersweet is a one-stop shop! The provided all the chairs and tables, the food, the cake, just everything. It was absolutely outstanding! Corporate Holiday Party that ROCKS!

Laura and her team have done our holiday parties now for the past 3 years and each year gets better and better. They do a great job on the menu planning and execution. Her desserts are to die for!!! Trying to figure out new ways to use them for other events!

Corporate Event Success

Laura, Julie, Bryan and other wonderful co-workers made our corporate Christmas Happy Hour absolutely delightful! Beautifully prepared food (including roast beef crostinis, pulled pork sliders, shrimp and other appetizers) and outstanding desserts! The presentation was spot-on and the service was impeccable. I can't recommend them highly enough and we will enjoy having them again in 2019!

The food was amazing, and they were able to accommodate our plethora of food restrictions/allergies! The whole process Laura was kind and accommodating, communicative, and patient. I was thrilled with their service, and everyone really enjoyed the dinner and dessert.

Every single detail was accounted for and handled without needing to ask me on my wedding day. Laura was prompt, professional, detail-oriented and cooks damn fine food. Laura catered our rehearsal dinner for about 30 people and our wedding reception for about 40 people.
For our rehearsal dinner, she catered a cocktail hour, with a variety of foods, including from scratch hummus, pimento cheese, guacamole and salsa. We had a buffet style dinner of grilled chicken and beef with optional sauces on the side, roasted potatoes and peppers and a cous cous salad. Everything was cooked to exact specifications and was served at the correct temperatures. We had very specific instruction on seasonings and she followed every single one of them. We also had a desert bar and she made loaded brownies, assorted fruit and amazing fruit tarts. Everything was perfect!

For our wedding reception Laura also catered the cocktail hour. We had shrimp cocktail, Cajun crab cakes, caprese skewers and fresh fruit kabobs. We choose a family style dinner and everyone passed dishes around. We had Beef Tenderloin with a bordelaise sauce with mushrooms and Salmon with a lemon-basil aioli. We also had sides of gourmet mac and cheese, whipped potato bar, asparagus, mixed green salad and homemade herb biscuits. Again, we had very specific cooking and seasoning instructions and it all came out perfect!

We also choose to have Laura design our wedding cake. We had a beautiful two-tier cake filled with a strawberry filling and a delicious buttercream frosting. It truly was amazing!!!

We had an wonderful weekend with Laura, all the food was excellent and we couldn’t have been happier! We would recommend Laura and Bittersweet Cakes and Catering to everyone.

Laura and her team helped make our wedding day turn out perfectly.

From the start, I had a feeling Laura would be perfect for our wedding. We only wanted appetizers and a few servers to pass them out and serve drinks. She understood our needs and didn't try to sell us more than what we asked for. And, her menu suggestions were exactly what I had in mind.

On the wedding day, we literally opened the door to let her and her team in, and never had to think about the caterers again. Everything went so smoothly and everyone loved the food! She served bacon-wrapped shrimp, which everyone loved, crab cakes, salads, a cheese tray, and my personal favorite, beet humus (never had that before, and it was delicious)!

We highly recommend Laura and her team. Thank you!

Laura Eliel, owner of Bittersweet Cakes, catered our son's wedding rehearsal dinner in our home. We had a sit-down buffet dinner for 45. The dinner selections were awesome (fish and chicken and a mac and cheese bar) and a dessert buffet ( a real highlight). The presentation was gorgeous. Our guests really enjoyed themselves. As Laura and her crew cleaned up, they put leftovers into containers and tucked them away in the fridge. Next day, when we were all getting ready for the evening wedding, it was easy to put our another terrific meal by Bittersweet!

Much as we loved the food, it's Laura's staff that really put the shine on the apple. They were friendly, prompt, courteous, and efficient. In fact, we were so impressed that we hired them to help out the next day at the wedding itself. We could not have done it without Laura and the Bittersweet staff.

We loved Laura and her team at Bittersweet! They did both our appetizer/dinner and our cake/dessert table. She was amazing when helping us put together our menu and the food was phenomenal. Laura did the catering for our backyard wedding. I can not say enough about how well the event went from planning, drinks, appetizers, dinner and deserts. All the food was awesome, service professional/polite and the final gift was a clean kitchen & all the food put away. Everyone is still talking about how wonderful the food was. We were introduced to Bittersweet Cakes & Catering through thumbtack. What a blessing it was to be introduced to Laura. We were looking for something special to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, and Laura was the only vendor who met all my requests the first time. She invited us to a tasting, and was so gracious. It was difficult to select from the variety she offered because they were all delicious and appetizing. Plus her costs were less than all the others who didn't meet my requirements for food selection. On the evening of the event, Laura was very professional, but also a gracious host. She treated my wife and I as if we were family. I almost thought she was our sister, the way she doted over us. All our guests raved about the food preparation and selection, starting from the appetizers, through the salad (which was an absolute hit), to the entrees (pesto chicken & stuffed roast pork loin) to the piece de resistance, the 3-tier anniversary cake (multi-flavored). This was a buffet meal, but Laura personally took care of us by preparing our plates so we could stay at our table. Then she helped us with the cake cutting, as it has been some time since we did that, and provided us each our own personal plate with a part of each of the three flavors. Then she continued working behind the scenes invisibly, but always there when needed. I would highly recommend her for any event and hope she will be there when we celebrate our 75th (25 years and counting). Laura, thank you and God bless you for making this special event just that much more special.

Laura is the consummate professional. From the tasting, to the menu decisions and options, through execution on the day of, she was simply superb. Ours was a very small affair - 30 guests - but Laura's attention to detail, and willingness to work with us to address issues as they arose was very helpful. She took care of all the details, only seeking input when needed or required! We were lucky enough to link up with Laura and Bittersweet Catering for helping with our wedding at Laguna Gloria in Austin. She was amazing! Very experienced, helpful and flexible. Laura Eliel brought a great deal of professionalism and class to my event. My (now husband) and I wanted food catered that all of our guests would enjoy, and not leave hungry. That's exactly what Laura brought. From the delicate hors d'oeuvres, to the very delicious cake and dessert bar, all of our guests were fully satisfied. We chose a buffet because it was more for our budget, but the setup was still very classy and elegant. Laura is also a great communicator, anytime I would contact her with a random question she was happy to help. I wanted a lot of variety, because all of our guests have different tastes, and Laura was so helpful in accommodating us. I definitely would recommend her to a friend or family for any future events.

I hired Bittersweet Catering for my son's wedding. They did the reception and the cake. The pre-planning was easy and Laura was eager to accommodate special requests of the happy couple.

On the day of the wedding, they were on time, efficient, and left the area very clean.

That's great, but what deserves special praise was the food! The appetizers were devoured by our guests and the main courses were raved over. I've had at least five people contact me since the reception to comment on how good the cake was! All told, we could not have been happier! Thank you, Laura!!

Our wedding was this past weekend in Driftwood, and Laura with Bittersweet provided the dinner, cake/desserts, and bartenders. It was so nice to be able to have so many services combined into one vendor! The food was incredible. So many guests were coming up to us telling us how great it was (even my Godfather who is a professional chef and restaurant owner)! The cake was amazing as well as the other desserts Laura and her team made, including mini pumpkin and pecan pies, tiramisu cups, and cupcakes. The appetizers were great too and Laura's staff passed those around at our cocktail hour. Everything was truly phenomenal and at a reasonable price. Do yourself a favor and book Bittersweet Cakes and Catering!

Laura Eliel was very easy to work with when I was looking for an in-home dinner party experience. I wanted someone who would come to my house, prepare and serve a special dinner for our small party. There were six of us. She and her assistant, Colleen, were so pleasant and professional and took great care of us. And, the food was excellent. Everything was special and delicious. We give Laura our strongest recommendation. We engaged her to cater our wedding, at a unique outdoor / indoor venue for around 100 people. It was among the best decisions we made.

Laura was highly responsive in all communications. She helped us work thru several iterations of proposals until we we found something that worked for us. We had a number unique needs that seemed challenging to us, but which Laura easily handled. We did not have to put much time into managing the catering after we engaged Laura. Once she understood what we needed to get done, she handled a ton of the small details for us.

Bottom line: The appetizers, meals, and baking she prepared were graciously served, were interesting both visually and to the palette, and delicious! Finally, she is competitively priced. Considering the quality of her food and services, total value she delivers is unmatched in our experience.

Laura with Bittersweet Cakes & Catering is awesome!! She was extremely helpful with planning our menu & meeting our budget. She was able to work in everything we wanted for a set price. The quality of food & service they provided during our reception dinner was exceptional. The whipped potato bar was not extremely hot, but it was VERY tasty.

Oh, and if you haven't tried her Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork ... you are missing out. It's incredible.

I can't say enough on how Laura and her team at Bittersweet made our special day one to remember and cherish. From beginning to end Laura was always available and responsive to our needs and desires. The food was incredible with its taste of home and loved touch. People are still talking about it weeks later. "Great Food!!!" No, corporate catering here. The cake was the best as well, white chocolate raspberry was a hit for all. Her team on site was on point the entire time! Laura from Bittersweet Cakes & Catering did a great job for our wedding! And not just the wedding, Bittersweet Catering was great from the tasting ‘til after the reception. Two things that came across working with Laura is that she can cook, and she knows the catering business, especially for weddings! Between these two things we got amazing meal and cake that all the guests (and us) loved along with service that helped the reception go smoothly. Throughout the process, Laura was eager to help with good suggestions so that we could focus on our big day. The catering was PHENOMENAL!!! From the start, Laura impressed us. We weren't from the area so it was important the caterer be available via email and she was super professional. Above and beyond that - of course - was the importance of the food quality/taste. When we did the tasting, she said she could make anything we wanted, but we were sold immediately on her breaded chicken breasts with pesto. It was a super creative way to do chicken that went far, far past standard catering fare. It was amazing. I wish I could order it at a restaurant on a regular basis. Maybe I'll ask for the recipe. Anyway, we also had BBQ pulled pork which was so delicious - everybody wanted to try both! We also got to do the trendy "XYZ bar" setup with mashed potatoes with all the "fixings," with the fixings included more gourmet things like sauteed mushrooms. Even the salad exceeded expectations. I can't say enough good things about the food!!!!!!! We even had guests call our parents later in the week to say that the wedding food was better than one of the semi-famous restaurants in the area. It was so good - super grateful my parents ordered enough for us to have leftovers :)

After the fact, I have no idea how we got that great of food for the value. It was just too good. Oh! And she made sure my now-husband and I got to eat, and to try everything, so we did not have the stereotypical "you don't get to eat at your own wedding" story. They also did the cake cutting which went great and was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend working with Laura for your wedding catering!!!!

Laura catered our daughter's wedding, providing the dinner, the cake, and appetizers. Everything was delicious and interesting and very attractive. Her appetizers and cakes were especially amazing. Laura was very easy to work with, competitively priced, professional and helpful, and her staff was great. When our day-of coordinator got pressed for time on set-up, Laura had her staff jump in and save the day. She did everything possible to make the dinner and reception go smoothly and to keep us all happy and un-frazzled. I will be calling her again the next time our family needs a caterer; I highly recommend Bittersweet Cakes and Catering.

If you are looking for a wonderful caterer, look no further! Laura pre-arranged a meeting place for a taste testing before booking and went over all of my menu options with me. She was even willing to plan the menu around the fact that my venue did not have an area for cooking. She was responsive to my budget, all of my needs, concerns, and any questions that I had. On the day of the wedding, Laura and her team operated so smoothly - I didn't have to worry about a thing! Food (and even cake after the cutting) was set aside for my husband and I and was waiting for us at our table. The wedding cake was beautiful and though my husband had an odd grooms cake request, it came out perfectly and was a huge hit. Everyone raved about how wonderful the all food was at the wedding! (My new mother-in-law said it was the best wedding food she had ever eaten)

After researching and getting quotes for a slew of caterers for our wedding, we finally went with Bittersweet Cakes & Catering. The other caterers we contacted would give us crazy priced quotes (some caterer wanted a 15% admin fee, I have never seen this before), in the hopes that our parents would just sign on the dotted line. Dealing with Bittersweet Cakes & Catering was completely different, we got a reasonable quote that was based on our food desires and the amount of guests. After receiving their quote we meet the chef for a tasting, the food was delicious, and the cake samples were great too. It was nice to know that we had our food taken care off, and the cake through one vendor. During the wedding the food was fantastic, everyone really enjoy the meals, with plenty of people going for seconds. The best appetizer was the chorizo stuffed mushrooms, which I ate quite a few of. One of the best things was the caterer and her team actually delivered a tray of appetizers, and got our plates of food for us at our table during the wedding. We always heard stories from our friends that they didn't eat during their weddings, but with the professionalism of this caterer, she made sure we were not going to go hungry. The food was awesome, the catering team was professional, and it was nice not having to worry about having great food at our wedding.

Laura, owner of Bittersweet Cakes and Catering, provided catering services for our wedding in July. We found Laura to be fabulous! She was professional with a friendly touch. She made recommendations that would suit a summer wedding. We felt at ease with all correspondence with her. When we had any questions, they were answered quickly and with great knowledge of what would go well with our reception menu. Her daughter, Jamie, did a wonderful job organizing the reception dinner. Jamie was also very polite to our guests by explaining dishes and greeting them with smiles. It has been a couple of months since our wedding and guests continue to rave about how good the food was. Laura also provided the cakes for our wedding. We loved our cakes! The personalized cake decorations were awesome and the flavors were delicious!

Laura was very helpful in making plans for a small wedding. She referred us to other vendors for the things she could not handle (flowers, linens). She asked for a budget, we gave her one, and she stuck to it. The food was great, the cake was yummy, and the bride was very happy! What else matters?

Catering was the one thing that was giving me a headache for the wedding. Bittersweet made my experience SO EASY! They were always positive, great communication, and found a way to make EXACTLY what I was looking for at the price point that we could afford! She was WONDERFUL to work with. She put together a meal for us to try and had it ready in 4 days! we didn't have to schedule weeks ahead of time just to meet with her. She took time when we were available and were willing to meet us anywhere! When we told her our interests- she made a PERSONALIZED meal plan that fits our idea which was very different than the norm. She made sure all our favorite foods were a part of it even through they were not on the normal list. we could switch out any part and she would work with us to make that happen.
On wedding day she had our food prepared to our table and ready to go right when we sat down. She has a personalized plate of aps for us to have during pictures and checked on us throughout to make sure we didn't have to lift a finger! Everyone RAVED about our desert table. They kept wondering when MORE was coming out! She was a BLESSING in our wedding. They did an AMAZING job and I could not recommend anyone more!

We wanted our only daughter's wedding reception to be perfect, and it was. We give much of the credit to Laura. Working with her was a dream and our guests continue to tell us that the food at the reception was the best they'd even had at a wedding. The cost was reasonable and Laura's staff professional, efficient, and gracious. My husband's comment is simply, "Excellent," a word he does not use lightly.

Laura with Bittersweet Cakes & Catering truly took our wedding to another level. Her personal service and professionalism really made an impression. Not only did she travel to meet me and my entire family close to my home, she also met a second time with me and my husband (then fiancé) for a special cake tasting. It is hard to decide which part of our meal was more impressive. The three tier wedding cake was mouth watering with three tiers of different cake flavors. I wish I had stashed the groom's cake away to keep for myself! And the food was to die for. Lets start with the appetizers. The antipasto skewer was my favorite and Justin and I couldn't stop eating them even two days into our honeymoon. Another appetizer, garlic shrimp with garlic-chili aoli sauce, was also amazing. Our guests ate every bite. And now the main course. There were two entrees to choose from, pork loin and beef cabrales. Incredible. Even the sides were outstanding. Literally, one of our guests wrote in our guestbook, "thanks for the mac n cheese". Not to mention Laura's pricing is mind-blowing and includes a drink station (water, iced tea and lemonade), 5 servers, cutlery, china, cakes, appetizers, and the main course. You cannot overstate the value she brought to our wedding. From the bottom of our hearts we say "Thank You Laura!"

Fantastic food! I ordered extra sides/appetizers to supplement the BBQ food truck at my daughter's wedding. All I can say is WOW!! Outstanding flavors, timely delivery and very professional! Highly recommend for all your catering needs!!!

Bittersweet Catering did a wonderful job at my daughter's wedding. The food was all delicious, from the appetizers to the cakes and everything in between. Laura and her team were very professional and efficient. Appetizers were all beautifully presented. Antipasto skewer, bruschetta, pesto cream cheese crositni and garlic shrimp! A great variety. The buffet had choices of meats and sides were all good especially the gourmet mac and cheese. The servers were very good and stayed on top of things. I highly recommend Bittersweet.

We have worked with Laura for several special occasions. She is a delight to work with, very professional, has great suggestions, and most of all her food is phenomenal. I was given the task of planning a holiday party for 80 guests, and was only familiar with one caterer in the Austin area (who's bid came in almost twice that of Laura's). When searching online, I found 4 caterers that I contacted for bids. Laura was quick to respond, and really listened to what I had in mind. She submitted a great menu. We met for a discussion and "tasting", and I was very impressed by the presentation and taste. The party was a huge success, and everyone thought I was quite the hero for finding Laura and her team. They were on time, professional, and very helpful, truly going above and beyond the actual scope of their contract. The food was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! We will certainly be calling Laura for our next event!

Laura is outstanding at helping you to put together just the right menu - and her offerings are ALL delicious, so you can't go wrong.

She is also incredibly accommodating, and met with us for a second tasting when I decided to add more items to our tapas style dinner.

The food was fantastic; and, we were able to meet with the owner beforehand and go over our menu preferences. It was presented beautifully and tasted wonderful! In fact all night our guests were commenting on how great the meal was. I loved that she offered a customized menu which allowed us to choose a fair and delicious selection for many diets, including vegetarian, gluten free, etc. My absolute favorite were the Cajun Crab cakes with garlic Chili aioli and the Pesto Cream Cheese Crostinis!

Across the board 5 star rating! Laura listened to what we wanted and came up with a fantastic menu that was within our budget. She offered advice on ways to avoid wasting money. She was AlLWAYS positive and energetic. She and her crew were spot ON the night of the event! The cake and petit fours were absolutely beautiful as well as being delicious. One weight conscious guest commented that she got cake with the intention of only tasting it, but it was so good that she ate every bite. She said it was totally worth the calories! Everyone loved the food. ...fabulous asparagus aioli. When word gets out about Bittersweet, I predict that it will be one of the most sought after wedding caterers in Austin. Thank you Laura!

I cannot express just how helpful Laura and Her team were on my Wedding day. from start to Finish she was so responsive and helpful in planning my big day festivties. She was understanding when I made a decsion and then changed my mind about that descion days later. The cake by far was the most delicious cake I have ever tasted, the flavors were so rich and memorable. The food was exceptional and I could not believe all of the selections and choices that I was able to get on my tight budget. I highly recomend this vendor if you want to impress your guest but are working on a not so impressive budget.

Laura catered a Christmas party at my home for 25 people. She was fabulous!! She created a wonderful appetizer menu which was classy, easy to eat and mingle and absolutely delicious. The crab cakes and shrimp were hits. And her raspberry cheesecake was heavenly. Best of all, she was very self-sufficient and Inconspicuous. Laura commandeered the kitchen like a pro, kept the buffet flowing smoothly and discreetly cleaned up empty plates and cups (not to mention the kitchen when she was through)

Laura and I only spoke on the phone to plan the event. But she was very attentive; made sure we were both on the same page, communicated frequently and was very flexible. She showed up on time and well prepared.

Because of Laura I was able to actually enjoy my party. I would recommend Laura to anyone who has an upcoming event.

I hired Laura to cater my October wedding as well as provide our dessert bar and I am so happy I decided to go with her! From the very beginning, she was incredibly friendly and professional. We wanted a nice menu, but not too stuffy, and she was able to achieve that with a mix of different entrees and a carb bar (Mac n' cheese, mashed sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes). Everybody at the wedding complimented us on the food. Our dessert bar was beautiful and delicious. Plus, her pricing is extremely competitive. She showed up early on the day of, her staff was awesome, and she even helped us set up our bar. I highly recommend her. She's a great lady and a great caterer!

My friends and I held an overnight couples retreat at Smithwick Castle and lodge that included catering for dinner and breakfast.

The event was great! We loved the Moroccan menu, the food was fantastic. The outdoor table was very pretty with white lights and fresh flowers. My whole party was very impressed with dinner under the stars. I really enjoyed working with Laura and everything went great!

The accomodations were very nice. 5 bedrooms all well decorated and very clean. Made the event perfect that we could enjoy dinner and the party and not worry aboiut driving back to a hotel.

Our daughter's wedding reception was catered by Bittersweet Cakes & Catering on August 3,2013. Laura was just wonderful to work with, and
Bittersweet did an outstanding job providing a great meal for more than 400 guests. Laura was flexible, agreeable, professional, understanding and honest. The food was absolutely delicious and Bittersweet was the most reasonably priced caterer we considered.

We had to make several changes and Laura was always gracious and kind to us. She truly cared about our satisfaction and our desires. We highly recommend Laura and Bittersweet Catering. We could not be more pleased--or more grateful--for the fantastic job they did for our daughter's reception. 5 stars for sure!!

Laura was great! She responded to emails very quickly and was always willing to make changes along the way. I cannot say enough about how pleased I am with my decision to use Bittersweet for my wedding. My husband and I spoke with several different caterers in Austin/Dripping Springs/Wimberly, many of whom were recommended by our venue. However, the kindness, flexibility, attentiveness and professionalism we experienced from the beginning with Bittersweet, we didn't find with any other caterer.

Laura, the owner, was always quick to respond to our questions by email, which was most convenient for us since both my husband and I travel a lot for work. We also met with her in person several times for tastings and she was always prompt and made it clear we were a priority to her.

We were able to completely customize our menu according to our desires and budget. Most caterers (and other vendors in the wedding industry) are quick to nickel-and-dime you on every little thing but with Bittersweet, we found that she was interested in helping us get the most for our money and never made us feel like we were trapped into a specific contract.

Not only did Bittersweet provide a delicious and unique menu for our guests, but she also provided AMAZING cakes. We chose to do a small cutting cake and then petit fours in 4 delicious flavors for our guests to choose from. The number one regret we got from our guests was that they wished they had eaten more cake! I still have friends and family talking about them! I highly recommend the petit fours--they were a fun alternative to the popular cupcake trend which everyone seems to be doing right now. I attended 4 weddings this year and, although I might be biased, our cakes were better than all of the other cakes and cupcakes we tasted.

Overall, we received rave reviews from all of our guests on the appetizers, dinner and desserts. Laura's professionalism and great attitude before, during and after the wedding was refreshing. I would recommend her services to anyone in the Georgetown/Austin/Hill Country area!

Laura was fantastic. I got her name from a friend of mine for a catered event that I had at my home for about 100 people. I had no idea what to do with an event this big, she came to my home, gave me ideas on where to put the people and created a wonderful menu. The party was a great success and everyone raved about the food and the service. She went out of her way to help us with things we would need, renting tables, etc. It made it easy for one stop shopping, I didn't want to have to deal with a million different vendors. she did it all, and was very helpful overall. Days later, i am still getting raves about the lovely catering and ambiance of the party.

Laura was fantastic to work with. The dinner was very well prepared, and flawlessly catered. We have never had a better cake. She was able to create a lovely display for the cake table, as well as provide service for the cake.

All of the servers were courteous and considerate with any issues that arose.

Laura took the time to visit the venue in advance of the event, to assure everyone involved in the event that any issues were addressed in advance of our event!

From the very beginning Laura made choosing a menu and planning the catering details for my wedding a breeze. I eventually went with heavy hors d'oeuvres that consisted of plenty of delicious food over a sit down meal. My favorite things were the grilled kabobs, the crab ceviche, and the pesto cream cheese crostinis.

I also did my cake with Bittersweet Cakes & Catering and couldn't be happier. Laura offers the best cakes at the best prices, and believe me I did a lot of shopping around!

Overall I am very pleased with the catering and with the unbeatable price.

Laura was wonderful! The apps, food and cake tasted great and the presentation was perfect! Everyone raved about the food and cake. We had about 150 people at our wedding and Laura and her team did a great job handling everyone. She even organized getting the TABC bar tenders for us. The communication and service are also fabulous. Email responses were quick (which is important for a bride) and the follow through was perfect.

Laura has baked cakes for us in the past, which were unbelievably delicious. She has recently catered our daughter's prewedding bash for about 50 out of town guests. The food was delicious, she was great to work with, and very flexible about the serving time. She also catered the morning after the wedding brunch, and the food was not only delicious, but plentiful.

Laura and her staff did an outstanding job catering my daughter's wedding. The food presentation and service was exceptional. Laura and her team did an outstanding job at our Wedding in October. They were extremely helpful and very courteous. Laura went out of her way to make sure the wedding cake would not melt with our outdoor wedding and accommodated bringing the cake in later to make sure everything was perfect. The food tasted amazing and the cake was a big hit! We were very pleased with the outcome and would recommend her team to future bride and grooms.

Laura is absolutely wonderful to deal with ! Called her somewhat last minute for a very special baby shower ! She created the menu, designed cake and everyone was RAVING about the food, service and set up ! Her menu items were unique, creative and DELICIOUS ! Laura and her expert team catered our wedding reception and provided the meal and the cake! We had tested cakes from numerous other bakers in town, and none of them came close to the cakes Laura makes. Her cake was beautiful to look at and even more beautiful to taste! The meal we had catered was Mediterranean and the lamb meatballs, spanakopita and chicken were excellent! We could not recommend Bittersweet Cakes and Catering enough!

The perfect day!

We originally approached Laura for a full adventure wedding at her gorgeous venue in Marble Falls, but chose another venue closer to home. We were so excited to discover she would cater our wedding at the venue we chose. The attention to detail and , love Laura sent our way made it easy to chose Bittersweet Cakes & Catering. Bittersweet catered our wedding in April and executed a nearly flawless job. The owner, Laura, is extremely easy to work with and responds to emails in a timely manner. Her pricing is very fair and food is delicious. We met with her twice throughout our planning process, once to pick out our menu and cake flavors, and again a month before our wedding to nail down the final details. On the day of our wedding, the Bittersweet staff arrived on time and immediately got to work. Our guests raved about the appetizers; we served the coconut shrimp, bacon wrapped jalapenos, mini crab cakes, and gorgonzola stuffed mushrooms. Our main course included the pesto chicken, beef, salad, mac n’ cheese bar, and potato bar, and all was delicious. The cake flavors were our favorite part – we chose ducle de leche, pina colada, and raspberry vanilla. The only mix-up of the night was that our cake flavors were on the wrong tiers, but no one but us knew any different! Overall, I highly recommend Bittersweet Cakes and Catering.

Laura was very responsive and also provided us with a lot of very helpful wedding reception planning advice.

The buffet food was set up beautifully. Laura and her two professional staff members kept the food hot and the serving area clean and appetizing. I loved that Laura prepared two special plates for my daughter and her husband so both got a change to eat before mingling with their guests. The BLT and pesto crostini and wrapped fig appetizers were plentiful and so tasty! The mashed potatoes were a little bland. The brisket was good but the lightly breaded stuffed chicken with avocado was just delicious! The summer salad was colorful and fresh and the two dressings were just right. We provided our own cake but Laura reminded us (thank goodness) to get a volunteer to help cut and serve the cake. Our over 150 guests complimented the food and everyone got their fill. Laura packed up the left over food and it provided two dinners for about 10 of us.

I can recommend Laura and Bittersweet Cakes & Catering.

Thank you, Laura and Jim! The rehearsal dinner you catered for us was wonderful. Thank you for being so flexible and listening to our requests and your suggestions. The food was fantastic. You two were awesome at dealing with some small issues, like an oven not working, and adapting to a moving service time. Our menu was great, everyone loved the anti-pasta skewers, the shrimp and cheese tray (the pesto jack was really good!) To the harvest salad adapted to be a bit more texas by spiced pecans and smoking the stuffed beef tenderloin, adding a sauce to the stuffed chicken breast with spinach and feta. The cupcakes met my expectations and then some, y'all did a great job. Made our family night of the rehearsal dinner so much easier and darn good food, too! My only disappointment is the pics of the food didn't not come out well enough to share. Next time we have a need for catering, I will be calling Bittersweet and Laura! Thanks Again!

Laura is prompt on emails and correspondence. I did everything online with her and her staff showed up for event right on time. Food is always fantastic. Try the coconut shrimp!

Bittersweet Cakes and Catering did both our meal and cakes and we were very pleased with everything. Our venue recommended Bittersweet and so we chose to do our first tasting with Laura (owner) and we loved the food and cakes we sampled and decided to go with them for our wedding. The food was delicious, we just wish we could have had more time to eat it on our wedding day! Our guests really enjoyed everything though. We also did the petite fours and a top to cut for our wedding cake; all the flavors were delicious. We were so crazy busy the last couple of months before our wedding that we didn't think of any design ideas for the cake, so Laura offered to choose the decorations and they came out great. Also the groom's cake was an Austin PD badge and it looked exactly like the real thing, and tasted great!

Overall we would recommend this caterer to others and are glad we chose them to cater our wedding.

Laura was great! She created a wedding and groom's cake from our vague descriptions of a Day of the Dead theme. I also had different kinds of cake for each layer. The cake was beautiful with "cute" skulls and skeletons, and the groom's cake was an awesome red velvet sugar skull, perfectly decorated. People didn't even realize it was a cake.

My husband and I loved our rustic Italian themed menu--the pesto provolone chicken was to die for! And the food looked so elegant. And Laura was incredibly kind and personable. The only thing we would have done differently is our cake. Although the catering company's cake looked beautiful, and tasted okay there just wasn't enough of it for the price. We actually bought a cake from HEB in case we ran out and sure enough we did. That cake was a fraction of the catering cake price and tasted a little better. I guess it comes down to what you value more--presentation or taste. However, I would still hire this company again. :-)

We did a bunch of apps for our event. Laura was very flexible with our requests and provided a great variety to appeal to the different tastes of our guests. She also did our cake which tubed out just the way we wanted. Very happy with the outcome of everything.

Our cakes were amazing. They tasted delicious and looked just like the pictures I e-mailed. They offer many options for flavors. We gave them our budget per head and they types of dishes we would like to serve and they came up with a wonderful menu full of variety.

I highly recommend Laura for your catering needs. As I'm writing this review Im wishing i had a slice of wedding cake available.

Laura was able to cater a menu according to our budget. We have plenty of appetizers, cheese, two dinner entrees (chicken and beef) and the wedding cake and petit fours were really good. I think the best thing about the catering was at the end all the leftovers and cake were wrapped up and some how ended up in my fridge. I was very grateful to have this happen during such a hectic day.

The food was delicious!! Everyone from the wedding couldn't say enough great things about it. She was very nice, only a few issues. The linens were not ordered correctly, and she took all of the left over food with her when she left (our venue donates it to the fire and police dept). Others than that she was fabulous. I would defiantly use her again.

Sadly the food didn't turn out the way it should have .The pork loin which was left uncut had no flavor,The cheese and the pesto stuck to the wax paper not the chicken and her fruit plate was just strawberries and grapes which to me is not a fruit plate. As for the cake the petite strawberry cream ones were to die for but the actual cake was not the caramel it was supposed to be and she left no place to put my cake topper.

The food and cake was fantastic! Everyone raved about the quality of food. The venue was pretty but when we got there we were informed that we had to clean off all of the chairs and tables for the ceremony. They were covered in dirt, mud, and bugs. Not fun. Also, the top tier of my cake was served even though it was discussed that we were following tradition and saving it for our one year anniversary. When my maid of honor brought this up to the staff they responded by calling her snooty. There was a severe lack of professionalism. Also, the price of the wedding kept going up and up. Food was added to the menu by the venue during our tasting and we were upcharged. We told her originally that our budget was to stay under 10 grand and we ended up paying 14 grand... even though she told us we could easily stay close to 10 grand and still get everything we wanted. We had no crazy requests at all and I was even told by multiple vendors that I was one of the most easy going brides they had worked with. It was a great wedding overall but mostly due to family, food, and the dj!
