Becky is so talented!
Becky made both our wedding cake and grooms cake. The wedding cake looked beautiful with the flowers she arranged on it. It tasted just as good as it looked! The bourbon maple pecan flavor was a hit! She also a made a cake that replicated my husband’s Australian Shepperd. That was also a huge hit. It looked great and so much like him. Becky is super nice and easy to work with. Highly recommend!

Fulfilled our Vision
When my fiancé and I met with Becky, I was pleasantly surprised with her methodology for tastings as compared to others that we had gone to. In advance she had us choose a couple flavors and icings that we were interested in, and then at the tasting she had nice bite sized pieces of each flavor and different icings so that we could mix and match everything. She gave us enough time to evaluate and talk about what we liked before pressing us further. We showed her what kind of cake interested us, and she did a mock up on her tablet. I could tell based off of the software that she used, her level of professionalism.
On top of her cakes and icings tasting great (there wasn't one we didn't like), her prices were very reasonable. Becky was always very responsive with any email that I sent her, and due to Covid she was flexible when some minor changes needed to be made.
The cake that she made us, was exactly as we envisioned it. It was absolutely perfect and tasted amazing!
I would highly recommend her for your wedding, and will honestly look into using her for anything where I need a professional cake.

Just what we needed!
Becky at Bit of Whimsy Cakes is everything we didn't know we needed in a cake designer. I went in with a basic idea of what we wanted in terms of flavor and design and what she gave us was far better than anything we could've imagined.
Not only were both of our cakes delicious, but the designs really "wow"ed us! Becky is easy to work with and really takes time to listen to your story and your desires for your day before offering up her delectable advice!

My wife and I hired Becky for our wedding and I was floored during the tasting how delicious all the flavor options and combinations were. We ordered a combination of cupcakes along with a wedding cake. Becky was amazing, on time, and so so helpful and very responsive. Easy to contact and was always ready to answer any questions we had. Becky is absolutely amazing at what she does! From brainstorming to the execution of our wedding cake, it was flawless. Love Becky!
My husband and I initially met Becky at a wedding show in our hometown of Lexington, KY and we hit it off with her instantly. We tried several of her samples at the show and were blown away by the quality and taste of her cake.
We tested several other cake vendors, (Lexington is spoiled with the amount of incredible caterers and bakers!) but in the end we loved so much about what Becky offered as far as the taste of her cake went, her skill level with decorating and her kindness and ease of personality. I will say as a side note, my husband is incredibly picky when it comes to "fancy cakes" as he calls it, and often times doesn't like the texture or icing as much as that of a cheaper store bought cake...well, he loved our wedding cake so that should also tell you something!
Long story short, we loved our wedding cake and absolutely plan on asking Becky to make our anniversary cakes in the future going forward.

Becky and Bit of Whimsy Cakes exceeded my expectations. Not only did the cakes look beautiful (yes the Grooms cake is a to-go B-Dubs box - fooled EVERYONE!), they tasted even better. Her shop in Richmond is adorable! The tasting was intimate and the flavors choices were delicious! I am still dreaming about the coconut cake with raspberry coconut filling. I would definitely recommend Becky with a Bit of Whimsy Cakes! We setup a tasting where she gave us generous size pieces with multiple flavors to try, which was unlike an other tasting we had been too. My husband is not an icing fan, but he really enjoyed Becky's! She setup the cake and cupcakes beautifully on the day of the wedding and was super easy to communicate with. The cake and cupcakes were amazing- there were no cupcakes at the end of the night, which we were obviously disappointed about since we couldn't take any home.

Special Theme Cake
I commissioned a small themed cake from Bit of Whimsy Cakes to surprise my husband during our wedding reception. The owner was very helpful and happy to oblige with my special order of a cake that looked like a Hobbit house. The price for the cake was very reasonable considering it's customization, and the vendor was easy to work with. The cake looked and tasted amazing, and I will forever cherish the look on my husband's face when he saw the cake!

Cake of my wedding dreams
Every little girl dreams about her wedding day. I always dreamed about my wedding cake. The frosting especially. Becky with Bit of Whimsy delivered the cake I had been dreaming about. We had 3 flavors; classic white, lemon blueberry, and my personal favorite pistachio. Each flavor was to die for and absolutely moist! There's nothing worse than dry cake and you will never find a dry cake with Becky. Her buttercream frosting was absolutely amazing and the perfect finish to an already amazing cake. Not only did she create an amazing wedding cake for us, but she was able to cater to my bridesmaids that have severe gluten allergies! She made classic white gluten free cupcakes with brownie batter filling and cream cheese frosting! The girls loved them and were amazed that they were actually gluten free (which they definitely were as one of the girls has to use a gluten tester before she eats)! My parents were blown away by the cake and my father, who lives 4 hours away, said the cake was so good that he would want to get every event cake from Bit of Whimsy. Oh! I haven't even mentioned the tasting! We got to pick a selection of cake flavors, fillings, and frosting options. We were given enough of each to create our own flavor combinations, which was definitely a plus and not something I had experienced at previous tastings. I only wish that I had actually been able to snag a piece of cake on my wedding day! Things were so busy that I was only able to enjoy the bite from the cake cutting. The guests raved about all of the flavors and the whole thing was gone before I got to it. Choosing Becky with Bit of Whimsy for your wedding cake should be one of the easiest decisions you make while planning your wedding. I promise you won't be disappointed! :)

One of my FAVORITE details
Becky was absolutely wonderful to work with, from meeting her at a bridal show and seeing her amazing work to our design meeting where she didn't look at us crazy at all when we wanted every layer of cake a different favor and filling. I was so pleased with how the final product turned out, the cakes were BEAUTIFUL. I had multiple people come up to me to tall me it was the best cake they had ever tasted. The grooms cake was a beautiful "stack of pancakes" complete with syrup and even two little pads of butter! Out wedding cake was gorgeous and exactly how I envisioned it. I will definitely use Bit of Whimsy cakes in the future and be happy to recommend her to all brides in the central KY area.

Becky did a great job on my nieces wedding cake. She made the whole process so easy and stress free. I contacted her through Facebook, she responded within an hour. She answered all of my questions regarding size of servings, amount needed, and pricing. I sent her a beautiful o picture of the cake and completely left it in her hands. She drove over an hour to deliver and set up the cake. It was beautiful, everyone loved it. Not only was it beautiful, it was absolutely delicious!! There wasn’t a crumb left, what wasn’t eaten was packed away by the guests for a friend, family member or their own treat for later!

Our wedding cake was perfect in every way. We originally had another cake style in mind, but right before our wedding I was inspired by another cake with more color and detail. Becky was supportive of the change and was very helpful in every way. Not only was our cake beautiful, but it was so tasty! We looked at a beaucoup cake vendors in Lexington and surrounding areas, but no one was even near the great price or the professionalism of Becky. We will be making the trek from Lexington to Richmond to use Bit of Whimsy Cakes for all of our cake needs from here on out!

Becky is AMAZING!! She made us 9 dozen cupcakes for our big day. She worked with us on our flavors & toppers, let us add half a dozen of gluten free cupcakes at the last minute, and the cupcakes were DELICIOUS. We had heart cutouts from book pages and comic books that we wanted to use as toppers. We dropped them off with Becky and she attached them to little fondant hearts for each cupcake. One of the highlights of our wedding
Becky did an amazing job. One of our wedding colors was copper/rose gold, and she was able to create a hammered metallic appearance for several of our layers which was gorgeous. We sampled many cakes at a wedding expo, and her cake tasted the best by far to all of us. She is reasonably priced, easy to work with, and was very careful with cake placement at drop off (our caterer originally had our cake table placed in a location which could have potentially received enough sun to melt the cake, which Becky caught). Highly recommend!

Becky is a master at her craft! I chose her after trying one of her samples at a local bride show because I initially cared about taste more then looks. But when the cake arrived on my wedding day, I broke into tears at how beautifully simple and elegant it was! And it was DELICIOUS. We had two flavors - strawberry champagne and a key lime cake with coconut raspberry filling and the signature buttercream. It was out of this world. I mean, maybe the best cake I've ever had in my life. We actually hoarded some away to eat for a few days after because I couldn't bare for it to be all gone. Becky is so nice to work with, so easy and accommodating. Our cake tasting session was very laid back and fun. We will probably be contacting her soon for birthday cakes! She's definitely worth every penny and will create something unforgettable and oh so tasty for your wedding!

Becky was a joy to work with and I feel so blessed to have found her. She was very responsive to emails, very personable, and from the initial cake tasting (which was extremely organized and a fun experience), to the delivery of our cake for our reception, every step was flawless.
Now to the most important part ...hehe, the cake & icing was absolutely delicious! Becky has so many fun flavors to choose from and our guests LOVED it! We chose french toast, pumpkin spice, & carrot. All were phenomenal, but the french toast was of course a major hit....and with maple buttercream icing ... can you say mouth watering? The design was also exactly what I had envisioned. So happy to have used Becky!

I can't say enough great things about Becky with Bit of Whimsy Cakes. Not only do her cakes taste AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!! (They have French toast cake btw) but she goes above and beyond to get your cake exactly what you dreamed of! I knew I wanted a TON of sugar flowers and she made sure we had just that! Everything went so smoothly and I absolutely adore her!!!!! Would recommend her and her cakes to anyone and for any occasion!! You won't regret it!!

Becky from Bit of Whimsy made our wedding cake and it was fabulous! We did a tasting ahead of time selecting what flavor we wanted. We changed our venue and she drove two hours to deliver our cake. This is not a complaint of her, but I did not double check our cake topper size ahead of time and did not realize it was too large for the top layer of our cake. Becky texted me the day of the wedding after setting up the cake saying the topper wouldn't fit, which was disappointing, but totally not her fault. It turned out to not be a big deal at all and the cake topper was not missed! The cake was beautiful with a carefully crafted batman symbol etched on the front as requested and it tasted wonderful! We highly recommend her!

Becky is beyond amazing to work with! I met her at a bridal fair where I tasted every single bakery sample there and her cake was BY FAR the best! It was the only sample that was moist, fresh, and flavorful. I went with it knowing nothing about her company other than the sample tasted good and the designs on display were pretty. We met up for a tasting a few weeks later and she was an absolute joy to work with. She took all of my ideas and sketched out exactly what I was visualizing. We walked away that afternoon and my fiancé (now husband) said it was the best cake he had ever had. We had a 5 tier cake for ~200 people and it was DEVOURED! Not a single piece was left at the end of the night (other than our top tier we saved) and since the wedding, several people have admitted they ate 2-3 pieces because it was so good! My guests are still raving about it! Becky made my bridal shower cake too and I got the same response from it. If you're wondering about flavors, I'm SURE they're all great... but we LOVED the following: Strawberry with strawberries and cream filling and buttercream icing. This is what we had for my shower. | Coconut with coconut buttercream icing. We had 3 tiers of this combo. It's my husband's favorite! Very light and fresh. The coconut buttercream icing is beyond amazing. | Classic almond with strawberries and cream filling and classic buttercream icing. These were the other two tiers of our wedding cake.
My most favorite detail was Becky's willingness to accommodate the special touches that meant so much to me. My grandmother has Alzheimer's and was not able to attend the wedding. I collected hobnob milk glass with her and we were planning to use several pieces of our collection as table centerpieces in her honor. Becky decorated one tier of the cake in a hobnob pattern to mimic milk glass. It looked like it was actually made of milk glass. It was spectacular & SO special! I cannot recommend her enough!!

Becky was just a dream to work with. She understood exactly what I wanted and was willing to work with me on every detail of the design. She always responded promptly to emails and question and had everything in order on her end throughout the process. She traveled with my cake to a remote Bed and Breakfast and got it there intact! She also was flexible and professional enough to deal with a less than pleasant venue host and to present a stunning cake despite that obstacle! It was so yummy and very affordable to boot! I could not ask for anything more and my cake was probably my favorite detail of the whole event! I can't say enough about how pleased I am with Becky's service and kindness!

When we met with her for our tasting and cake design she was so easy to work with and listened to every detail that I wanted. I was nervous about my wedding cake because I wanted huge and color! But she drew a sketch and sent me pictures of examples and I knew I was in good hands. We were able to choose any flavor cupcake, filling, and topping. They were there to set it up several hours before the wedding. The grooms cake was amazing: it was a sugar Ale8 bottle in an edible ice bucket with sugar ice cubes. The guests love it!

Once we tried all the other flavors we couldn't choose just one. We decided on a variety of cupcakes in almost every flavor they offer. We also had an AMAZING grooms cake made by Bit of Whimsy Cakes. I can not say enough about Bit of Whimsy! She made the cake for my wedding in Lexington, at the end of July. That's a 30 minute drive at least, and it was burning up but you'd never know it, the cake looked perfect.
We didn't have a SINGLE PIECE LEFT! The cake was the hit of the wedding. Our main layer was Strawberry, then Lemon and finally, for the groom, French Toast. Excellent value as well! I have already suggested Bit of Whimsy to three other brides. She also makes gluten free cakes that taste really good! Which from what I've heard is a difficult task. Highly recommend and truly believe Bit of Whimsy is 5/5! Book her!

I was able to go to her with an idea in my head and she brought it to life with our cake perfectly! Every layer was a different flavor, so we were able to have everyone enjoy a flavor they liked! She's also amazing with groom's cakes! My husband wanted an airplane and it came out awesome! She's super professional and all around awesome! :)

We received so many compliments on our cake; not only about how beautiful it was, but about how delicious it tasted. The price was very competitive as well. GREAT VALUE!!

Ms. Holman designed a cake for me based on my description. She created exactly what I had in mind and it was fantastic. The quality of the cake was excellent and her service was beyond my expectations. I would certainly recommend her to someone looking for the perfect wedding cake...or any cake for that matter.

Becky was a blessing from the moment we met her. She was willing to listen to what I wanted for my cake, and transform it in to a reality. Our biggest concern was allowing the cake to sit in the non air conditioned airplane hangar that held both the ceremony AND the reception, but Becky was amazing! She accommodated delivering the entire cake/cupcake order in the small amount of time between the ceremony and reception.
In addition, the cake and cupcakes were not only beautiful, but absolutely delicious!! I still have people asking me where they can find Becky and the heavenly lemon-blueberry cupcakes!!

Becky was very professional and easy to work with. We had a cake consultation first so she could get an idea of what I wanted. The final product was amazing! We had a marble cake with white icing. It was delicious! She did such a great job of decorating our cake. I would recommend Bit of Whimsy Cakes to everyone!

Bit of Whimsy Cakes literally turned my dream wedding cake into reality. Her work was not only beautiful, it was also delicious! Numerous guests came up to my husband and I to tell us how much they enjoyed it, many guests actually went for seconds! Our grooms cake was a great talking piece! Becky created such an amazing cake! Never would I have dreamed that I could have such a gorgeous cake AND have it taste sooo heavenly! My husband, guests and I are still talking about it. She worked with us through multiple designs and clarifications. She truly outdid herself and we felt that we really didn't pay her enough for the value of our beautiful cake. You can't go wrong with her!

Take your dream cake for any event & let Bit of Whimsy Cake take your idea & make it come to life! I took bits & pieces to Becky & she pieced them all together & made my absolute dream cake come to life! Not only was it the WOW factor I was looking for, but it was DELICIOUS, too! Our wedding was a huge event with lots of people & we had plenty of cake. She was on time, reasonable pricing, excellent in setting & making it perfect, wonderful to work with, etc. The entire cake was real, too! None of it was faux. I could not have asked for any better!

Best Baker to work with in Lexington
Becky with Bit of Whimsy Cakes was wonderful to work with! Not only were her Cakes gorgeous and super tasty but she also has the most reasonable prices. We loved everything about our cake. It was so delicious, it came out exactly how we wanted it to look and she handled deliverlly and set up as expected. She was so welcoming and helpful during the tasting. My husband ended up having to miss the tasting and so she went above and beyond to send his portions home with me. I was also impressed that we got to pick what we tasted, something like 3 cakes, 3 fillings and 2 frostings. She was the only Baker that we tried that offered this and it was perfect. We got to narrow our choices down and actually try the cakes we would choose between. I would recommend Bit of Whimsy Cakes to anyone getting married or needing a cake for a special event!
