Birdsong is the Absolute BEST!!

We could not have asked for better photographers! Jess & Genie are so sweet, professional and crazy talented! Before we even hired them, Jess met us at a coffee shop to get to know us and answer any questions we had. We ended up chatting for almost 2 hours and it felt like we had known him forever.

Fast forward to our wedding day - we were the first wedding to get cancelled due to the pandemic. Birdsong was so understanding and flexible with us when we had to reschedule. We finally got to have our big day in October 2021 and Jess and Genie were an absolute joy to work with! My husband hates taking pictures, but they made it super fun and easy for him. They took beautiful portraits and captured all of the best moments of our special day.

To top it all off, we did a day after shoot with Jess where we rode around in his Jeep and took the most magical, picture perfect nature shots. It was such a fun day and the photos turned out so dreamy! I would 1000% recommend Birdsong Photography for any special occasion. They are the best and their prices are really reasonable too!

Everything you could want for your wedding

Jess and Genie immediately feel like family, and are amazingly professional. They were a great addition to our wedding day, getting everything they need to capture the event, as well as gathering the moments you didn't realize you wanted or even missed. Fantastic Photography experience

Jess & Genie are hands down amazing! Hiring them as our photographers was the best decision we made. They made sure to get every shot we wanted and then added their expertise. We definitely recommend hiring them. They were also great with the kids, we all know how difficult kids can be with photos and they were great dancing around and making monkey sounds. Love them! We will be hiring them for any other photoshoots we have in the future.

We hired them based on a recommendation from a friend, and we couldn't be happier at taking the advice! The photo's are amazing! They take a ton of photos, and send them all to you on a CD drive! You get hundreds of touched up photo, and all the untouched ones! They know the area well, and are very helpful with locations. They were also fun to work with :)

It is obvious from the sample photos on Birdsong’s website that Jess and Genie are artists. After booking them for our wedding, we can attest that they bring the same level of artistry to each and every occasion that they photograph. My husband and I are incredibly pleased with our photos, and have received wonderful feedback from our family and friends. Beyond the physical photos, Jess and Genie both helped our wedding flow smoothly and guided us into looking poised in our photos. Genie was great in the dressing room for the getting ready shots with the girls. It was really valuable to have two photographers during the ceremony. They got simultaneous shots of us reading and responding to our vows. The family pictures turned out beautifully, and we will treasure the shots of just the two of us forever. We couldn’t have picked a better team!

HIRE THEM!!!! We are so in love with our rich photos!! HUGE Thank You to Birdsong Wedding Photography Jess and Genie. Not only are they the BEST photographers money can buy, but turned out to be dear friends to us!!! Jess was a photography teacher at a University here in AZ! (So you bet they know what they are doing!) He taught a few photographers we know and they highly recommended him as well.
They have been our ROCK through the whole process! Jess, you've been my go-to on everything! Always gave me the best advice and respectfully knew how to handle me and my unnecessary bridezilla moments :) They are a dream team- real artist and I adore you both! Birdsong was amazing to work with! Jess is such a professional and has a calmness to him. Everything at my wedding went wrong, from the flower arrangements to the caterer running out of food. But I had no issues with Birdsong at all! Jess and Genie are so friendly and down to earth and even calmed me down when everything around us was falling apart.
My husband and I did a day after photo session in Sedona and it was like hanging out with friends! They were so fun and awesome to talk to as we walked to different locations. They were very knowledgeable of the area and knew all the amazing spots to take great pictures at. It was as much fun as our wedding had been the day before! I know my pictures will be amazing!!!!They knew my vision and took the time to get to know us and they were so excited to make my dreams come true. Even the few sneak peaks I saw look like magazine covers. I can't express how much we loved working with Birdsong! My husband is already planning for them to do our maternity photos... and we aren't even planning a family yet!

Jess and Genie were amazing! We have pretty interesting families, and they were able to keep everyone on track to get pictures taken before it got dark out. We had a few mishaps, and they stayed LONGER than we scheduled them to accommodate out mistakes. And on top of that, our pictures are absolutely beautiful. This husband and wife team were awesome! While we have not received our photos, I have no doubt they captured everything we wanted. They were efficient and thorough and followed everything we discussed. You know they are passionate about they do and want the best photographs for you - they pulled us away at an opportune moment as the sun was hitting the backdrop mountains perfectly so they could provide us with the Red Rock photos we hoped for.

They have been rated as one of the Top 10 Photographers in the Nation. Beyond that, they're extremely personable, professional and fun. They have all sorts of packages and price points to accommodate any budget. We chose a package that offers 6 hours of wedding day coverage with both Jess and Genie shooting, so 2 photographers for 6 hours. This package was about $1000 more than what we had envisioned paying for photography, but after seeing their work, my fiancé and I quickly agreed that it was well worth it and actually, a bargain for the quality of photos they produce. I've lost count of how many times I've heard couples say, "We wish we would've spent more money on photography and less on flowers or cake." Anyway, I hope this was helpful. I recently reached out to Jess and Genie to inquire about photography for my April 2016 wedding. Jess has been wonderful to work with so far. He scheduled an hour of his time on a Friday night (that's what worked best with my schedule) to set up a phone call to answer all of my questions. I was truly impressed by the knowledge and wisdom Jess and Genie have for the Sedona area. Jess took into account what my fiancé and I are trying to capture and made suggestions for our engagement session and wedding day photography. His expertise his highly valued and appreciated. Jess and Genie are also flexible to help you find the right wedding package that fits your needs. We are scheduled to do our engagement session with Jess tomorrow, and I am so excited to work with him. Jess and Genie with Birdsong were just incredible. We had the hardest time settling on a photographer for our 3/14/15 wedding, but as soon as we met with them we knew we had found the right photographer for us! I was so pleased with the photos I received, I would have paid more than I did for them. Both Jess and Genie were nothing but professional and truly helped capture the spirit of our big day. They were very flexible, rolled with the punches, and went above and beyond what we expected. Many of our guests and wedding party commented on how much they enjoyed having Jess and Genie there.

If Jess and Genie are available, book them. From the initial consult, to check-ins prior to the wedding, to the actual day, it was clear that they were professional, loved what they do, and were really invested in making our day special. On the actual wedding day, they were completely patient with me while I was stressed out over running late because of some relatives, and got shots that reflected the joy of the day, not the stress. The value for the money was exceptional, and we have thousands (literally) of photos to commemorate the special day. They are talented photographers as well as talented business people, and I have no doubt that no other photographers could have captured our day with the same care and skill.

Jess and Genie were so amazing to work with! From the very first phone interview I could tell that they were professional, passionate about their work, and so completely genuine! We booked an engagement session and our wedding with them.
Our engagement session was actually so much fun! We were honestly dreading hours of pictures. But they actually made it fun! We laughed and talked and it felt more just like hanging out with friends! They coached us through the whole process to get the most amazing pictures! Many people commented the photos looked like something from a magazine!
Now, we haven't gotten our wedding photos back yet (wedding was just over 2 weeks ago) but I am not concerned one bit! I am so excited to see their quality, artistic work! They were early to arrive day of, with smiling faces, so ready to do what they love. They made everyone at ease! I cant imagine how frustrating it would be to organize families and people for photos. Jess and Genie were so calm and efficiently got each person posed and into the pictures. We had family comment how nice they were and that generally photographers get overwhelmed and snappy when they have huge weddings to arrange, but not once did anyone get that from Jess or Genie!
So happy with my choice to book Birdsong Wedding photography and would definitely recommend them!

Genie and Jess did the photography for my neices wedding a few year ago and after seeing the photos it was a no brainer that we chose them for our wedding. They are so creative and caring. I first contacted Birdsong Wedding Photography while I was working overseas and attempting to help out my fiancé with some of the wedding planning. Our initial conversation was about two hours long, which was partially my fault for being a talker but also on Jess’s behalf because he is so personable. It is this trait that certainly separates Jess and Genie of Birdsong Wedding Photography from any other photographers out there. From the start Jess and Genie were like long time friends rather than just another vendor at the event. They helped us with more than just the photography but also gave us recommendations and opinions relating to other vendors and ideas that we had for our wedding day. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about them and the services that they provide. Pricing was what we expected but service before, during and after the event was far better than what we could have ever expected. We highly recommend them for your event! Truth be told, we had already decided on hiring them for the event after looking at their website and seeing the quality of pictures and the locations on where they take them. My husband and I spent a few weeks looking through photographers for our wedding. I love photography, so picking a great photographer was on the top of my to-do list. After seeing the photos from Birdsongs blog, I knew that I had found my photographers. Their pictures are beyond amazing!

Working with Jess and Genie was the best experience, they are very professional and extremely nice and helpful. They spent a good hour going over their equipment and talking to us about the pros and cons of our particular venue. After booking them they helped us set up a timeline for the wedding that would be the best for lighting/ photos. They were very helpful and always responded to emails in a timely manner (which is important when planning a wedding). They even helped us find an officiant for the wedding last minute after ours canceled on us.

The photos from the engagement session, wedding, and day after photos all came back amazing. The lighting and angles are perfect. We are so happy that we choose to go with Birdsong because they captured our wedding day just how I had always imagined it. There is not a single thing that I would change about the photos, I am so happy with them.

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!! My pictures are perfect!!! Jess and Genie are wonderful people!! Their blend of professionalism and character meshed so well with the feeling we wanted at our wedding.

Just to explain how good they are at what they do... I greatly wanted a photo with a child who had autism and made VERY little eye contact. I CAN NOT believe that you got multiple pictures with eye contact from her! I can not begin to tell you how incredibly blessed I feel to have breath taking pictures with these people I love!!

Words can not describe how incredibly grateful we are! They even went beyond what the contract outlined and sent us 85 more 'worked up' pictures than what we paid for.

They also know their stuff!! They urged my new husband and I to head next door to take advantage of the scenery for some photos. We were excited to get to the party but ended up going next door to get those shots. Boy are we glad we did. They weren't kidding! We had some incredible photos and Genie was so quick with her game plan that she must have mapped out ahead of time!

Jess and Genie are truly talented and we really appreciate all the work they put into our photos. We have already recommended them to a bride and we will continue to brag about how outstanding our wedding photographers are.

I first met them at a wedding show in Phoenix. They took the time to answer questions in detail and give advice. There was a real rapport with them that was missing with other photographers. Your photographers will be in your face all day on your wedding so you want someone that you feel comfortable with.

I appreciated how clear they made the expectations for the process right from the start. Emails and phone calls were answered quickly. They always were helping us look our best by asking us to not smile or smile – to get that real smile and how to place our arm or head. If you are looking at their packages, go for the full. This is the area of your wedding to invest in. Get your engagement photos with them - you will get to know each other which will make the day of the wedding go even better.

They were also open to my ideas on photographs I wanted taken. Of course, with their great expertise, they took all of the right photos I could never think of. Our guests loved working with them the day of the wedding - they were everywhere taking pictures and such fun to work with.
After the wedding, they went above and beyond to get our pictures perfect. We received a small selection right after the wedding that I was able to use on our Thank You cards. They take their time to edit photos to perfection so you can have them forever. I love that not only do you get the edited photos in the contract but you also get all of the photos they took – thousands of them! Not all photographers do this and it really sets Jess and Genie apart. The effort they made in making the pictures look great was phenomenal!

I can not write enough positive feedback about Jess, Genie and Birdsong Photography!!! I was a destination bride in Scottsdale, AZ and found Birdsong from a google search. Not only were their photos beautiful, but their pricing was much more reasonable compared to the Scottsdale sticker price. I did alot of emailing with them about my wedding day and the package that would best suit us for our BIG DAY. They were always very responsive and did a great job steering me in the right direction. I did not meet them until the day of the wedding which can be alittle frightening as a bride however they showed up and were so professional. You can tell they have done hundreds of weddings because they were efficient with our time and didn't spend too much time with one set of our guests (both family and friends). Many of our guests commented on how professional the two of them were and helpful in placing people where they needed to be. Once the wedding was over I was eager to see our photos. Jess & Genie completed our photos sooner than they had promised and went above and beyond what my actual package consisted of. We were overjoyed with how they turned out!!! I would recommend this couple to anyone and everyone looking for a talented, spirited, and professional photographers in the Arizona area. Job well done!!

Jess and Jeanne were absolutely excellent. After our first meeting I knew they were going to do an awesome job and it was nice to not have to worry about anything. From the moment we introduced ourselves to Jess and Genie, Jason and I knew we were going to schedule them to be the photographers on our special day. We talked to the two photographers for several minutes to find out about pricing, scheduling, packages, etc. and it only took us walking away from the vendor table for one minute to turn right back around and make sure that we had them booked for our day. Jess and Genie were amazing. They both are progressional, their pictures are amazing, and they are so fun to work with. Jess and Genie are absolutely phenomenal photographers! We met Jess when we were looking for photographers for our wedding. We live in Chandler, while they are located in Flagstaff. Jess drove all the way down to meet with us. Right off the bat, you could tell that Jess was a serious photographer. We could instantly tell how passionate he is about photography. We were drawn to his fun personality and how knowledgeable he is about photography. Jess knows a lot about lighting, cameras, Photoshop, and basically everything a great photographer needs to know!

We did our engagement session with Jess up in Sedona. He is very familiar with the area and knows all the great spots to take pictures in. He ended up spending the entire with us taking pictures in various locations around Sedona. The engagement pictures were perfect! We got so many comments about how great the pictures were! After seeing the engagement pictures, we knew our wedding photos would be fantastic!

Fast forward to our wedding day… Jess spent the afternoon taking pictures with the guys, while Genie worked with the ladies. Genie is a fantastic photographer as well! Her attention to detail is amazing! Jess and Genie are quite the pair! They have everything under control. They give great direction, which was awesome during some of the family shots. They work so well together and constantly bounce ideas off of each other. Throughout the ceremony and reception, Jess and Genie were like photography ninjas. They we’re intrusive at all; they did a great job blending in.

It took a little while for us to get our wedding pictures, but they were definitely worth the wait!! The fully edited pictures are incredible! I have received so many comments from friends and family about how great our pictures turned out.

Overall, Jess and Genie were awesome to work with. They are simply the best wedding photographers out there. I highly, highly recommend them!!

Jess and Genie were amazing to work with. I found them at a bridal expo in Flagstaff, AZ and their photos were outstanding, so I decided to meet with Jess to see if they would work for our wedding. Jess was extremely professional to work with and completely honest. He is not going to try and sell you something that you do not want, but he will tell you how your day will go, realistically as far as which photo package you chose. They have done several weddings and are very knowledgeable.

Leading up to the wedding Jess was able to help me answer some of my question about what is traditional, what looks good in a picture and even if he had worked with another vendor that I was considering.

The day of the wedding was exceptional!!! They were prompt and ready to take photos. Jess went and did photos with my husband and groomsmen while Genie did photos with me and my bridesmaids before the wedding. During the wedding I received several compliments about our photographers and what a good job they were doing. Everyone was excited to see the photos.

They are busy and we were married at a busy time of year for them. We were able to get 12 photos that we could use for thank cards two weeks after our wedding. We had to wait 4 months for the remaining photos. It was well worth the wait and now I have amazing memories that will last a lifetime.

Jess and Genie did not only put in a tremendous amount of effort on the day of our wedding to make sure everything was in the right place, but they also picked out the photos to best tell our story and did an amazing job editing them.

Our wedding day photos are everything we wanted and more, they truly know how to capture a wedding and to make everyone look outstanding! If you need a wedding photographer I highly recommend them and would not have used anyone else!

When we decided to have our wedding in Flagstaff, we knew it was going to be a challenge to make all the decisions when we both were living separately and out of state. We explored the options online and made inquiries through email, and to be honest, I almost didn't even email Jess at Birdsong. A few of the local photographers had quotes upwards of $8,000 for their most comprehensive package, and to say the least, I was frustrated. When I saw Birdsong's website, I almost just said "forget it", its gonna be WAY out of our price range. But, I tried my luck one more time and couldn't believe the affordability and value for such amazing pictures and photography package. We met with Jess on a quick weekend trip to Flagstaff, and we were very impressed with his personality and professionalism. Through the next months, Jess was by far the best of our vendors to be in contact with. He was prompt with responses and so helpful and willing to please. The day of the wedding, Jess and Genie were amazing. They made us feel at ease and never added any extra stress. Jess and Genie from Birdsong Wedding Photography were AMAZING! We had found them through their website and instantly fell in love with their style and photos. We loved how responsive Jess was to all of our emails and phone calls. We did our engagement photos with Birdsong as well, Jess had a lot of ideas on where to shoot at, and great poses to be in. Jess and Genie were absolutely AMAZING! They did our engagement pictures and wedding photography, and we couldn't be happier with all of our photos. From the moment we began planning our wedding in March 2012 and first happened upon their website, to enjoying our own OUTSTANDING wedding photos, we have been so impressed and pleased with Jess and Genie of Birdsong Wedding Photography. Jess and Genie are the absolute BEST. We interviewed a few photographers, but when we met with Jess and looked at his work we knew that he was the perfect person to document our wedding. Jess was kind enough to travel to Pinetop, AZ (where we got engaged) to shoot our engagement session. After we got our engagement photos back we KNEW that we made the right decision for our photographer. We just got our wedding photos back and they are incredible! We couldn't be more happy! Jess and Genie captured every emotion that we went through on the day of our wedding and you can see it in each picture that they took. We can't stop looking at our photos...and neither can our family and friends! Their pictures truly told the story of our special day and I know that we will be able to relive our wedding day for years to come.
Jess and Genie were very professional throughout the entire planning process and gave us great advice. Not only were they easy to work with, most importantly, they were fun to be around! Everyone in our wedding party commented on how great our photographers were. In addition, we had a three year old flower girl and they were amazing with her...she was in several photos and they got her to look at the camera and smile for each one! They were also very accommodating. We didn't want to see each other before the wedding, which required a lot of planning. Jess and I spoke two weeks before the wedding to work out the details of the day and everything worked out perfectly.
It was so helpful to have two photographers. The day of the wedding Genie stayed with the girls while Jess stayed with the guys. Jess and Genie didn't skip a beat...they were extremely organized and knew exactly what the other was doing.

If you are looking at this site and still on the fence, JUMP! The pictures were more than we could have dreamed. To have two photographers to snatch moments of your big day is worth it. Jess was an absolute gem guiding us through the poses for all the traditional shots and he was open to anything we wanted to try. Some how both Genie and Jess were everywhere for these shots but not ever in the way, I really don't know how they did it. We had to wait for a while for the finished product, but it was WORTH it! Now I can't wait to have an anniversary party to hire them again. The professional and personal touches these two photographers gave our day, will keep them in high demand for some time, so get your date in order and call them. My husband and I are so impressed with Jess and Genie that we feel lucky to have had their time and effort. We've never met anyone so dedicated and passionate about their work. They really know photography and weddings. They were so organized and always exuded energy and enthusiasm. They'll do anything to get the best shot...Genie fell in the river at one time and Jess was digging himself into the dirt to get the right angle. They both magically got our huge family (from age 8 to 80) in a photo within minutes...AND we all looked good. They also took us in their jeep to get to the most exclusive off-road spots in Sedona. When we saw our finished photos, I was grinning from ear to ear throughout the whole slideshow that my cheeks hurt. My favorite, besides the breath-taking Red Rock shots, were the candid photos of our guests and the children! They really captured the sparkle in their eyes. My Mom was also very happy with how much more slender her arms looked (after editing :P) Jess and Genie's dedication go beyond the day of your wedding. They meticulously sort and edit thousands of photos to deliver only A+ work. So if you want a photographer to send you all of your photos within a week or so, pick a different photographer. Weddings are stressful to plan, but trying to find a photographer a week before your wedding I thought to be impossible. I was truely blessed when I found Bird Song Wedding Photography because they enthusiastically and proffessionaly booked my wedding with such short notice. Jess was so easy to talk to on the phone and was very open from the begining. Then my wedding day comes and I meet the wonderful team and with my good luck it rains turning my beautiful out door wedding to indoors, but Jess and Genie didn't flich; being the professioals that they are they still produced the most amazing photos that I did't think to be possible. Genie was a blast to work with taking fun photos of all the girls getting ready, and shooting all the little details that seem to get missed on such a very big day. Why it’s worth it to get the best wedding photographers you can:
I don’t have very many beautiful portraits of my family. We don’t always have an occasion to bring everyone together over the year, and the roster has changed since we last did portraits. The kids have partners now and my parents divorced a long time ago and are on second relationships. All those positive developments needed to be recorded! I looked through the photos with my mom when they came back and we both cried with happiness. And just think—you aren’t just giving a gift to the people you know now, there are people you haven’t met yet (kids, perhaps?) that will treasure these photos long after you’re dead and gone. Nobody will remember the food or entertainment. But those photos are forever.

Another reason photography was so important to us was we knew we might not have some of the current family members with us for much longer. Though healthy, my grandfather is 87, and my husband’s grandfather was just barely well enough to make it to the wedding. It turned out to be his last night out with everyone--now, four months later, he is in hospice care. Those pictures of him dressed up to the nines and salsa dancing with his daughters (though he had to remain in his wheelchair) are absolutely treasured by my their whole family. He looks positively dashing! The photos happened to come back at just the right time to bring them some joy during this difficult time. :’-)

Of the wedding vendors we worked with for our wedding, I was happiest about choosing Jess and Genie (the kind faces behind Birdsong Photography). I’m kind of poor, and did have to cheap out in some areas of the wedding budget in order to afford world-class photography. But for the quality of those images, the cost was totally reasonable. I am so, so, glad I went for it. Here's why:

Genie and Jess worked with us to record each little wedding detail. There is a beautiful detail shot of my late grandmother’s pearl bracelet that my mom loaned me to wear for luck. The shots of the dress, rings, programs, etc, are technically perfect, and beautiful. The women at work were gasping over a picture of my SHOE, if that helps you understand. We did a “first look” and the pictures of that are some of my favorites. I’m cute I guess-- but basically, you know, average looking-- and in the photos they made my husband and I and our families look like ourselves, but GORGEOUS. Something with the lighting—we all look smokin’ hot! The ceremony pics, family portraits and photojournalistic ones all look incredible. I’m not going to say much more about the quality of the photos, I mean the galleries speak for themselves.

They were on time, prompt with communication, at ease, comfortable, friendly, and low-key. Trust me I am more than a little camera shy but I immediately felt great working with them. One thing I appreciated is they stayed with us the entire day, from me getting ready to the very end of the evening, for a flat rate. Some photographers only stay a few hours—watch out for that. We absolutely LOVE our photos! Jess and Genie did such an incredible job! They have captured our special moments and delivered them the way we imagined them to be. Being in the creative business, we completely appreciate the level of detail in their photos—from the composition, lighting, clarity, to the color balance, Jess and Genie nailed it! Their true dedication to their craft is reflected in their beautiful work.

In addition, they're very responsive and they take their time with you to discuss your needs. They're very honest and will give good tips and suggestions. They will tell you what you'll exactly get with certain lighting during the day, location, etc.

Great value as well since you get two of them—more angles, perspective and locations. Genie photographed me and my bridesmaids getting ready, while Jess was at my groom's room with the groomsmen. Then, Jess took care of our after ceremony shots, while Genie was at the reception to take photos of table details, guests arriving, etc.

Overall, we had a wonderful wedding day, and we thank Jess & Genie for the memories we'll always cherish through their amazing photography.

Jess and Genie are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Their talent and professionalism is exactly what every bride and groom dream of to document their perfect day. They make such a great team, which enables them to capture numerous happenings simultaneously, each possessing a unique eye and perspective. They are very discrete, however numerous family & friends commented on how impressed they were by them. We opted to do a second photo shoot the day after the wedding to allow us to spend less time the day of taking pictures, as well as take advantage of all of the beautiful scenery in Sedona. For this, Jess and Genie took us to the most beautiful (and off the main path) locations. They were literally willing to do whatever it took to get a great shot, which is VERY rare for photographers (most that we interviewed were more interested in the ‘minutes’ you were purchasing). Our pictures are absolutely breathtaking - they literally look like they're out of a magazine. We confidently and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone! Jess and Genie exceeded our expectations! I looked at all the photographers in the area and none of them could match the talent and value of Birdsong Wedding Photography. I loved that their work wasn't just gorgeous, it was original. From beginning to end, they were amazing to work with. Jess was always very responsive on email and talked to me on the phone several times to work out all the logistics. They really made everything low stress; I never had to worry about what they were doing or working on because I knew they had it under control and were super organized. SO many people told us how wonderful they were in terms of accommodating photo requests, being pleasant and kind, and just being so great to work with in general. Jess and Genie were 100% committed to getting awesome shots. Seeing them genuinely excited about the shots they were getting really showed how much they truly love what they do; it's not just a job to them.

When we got the pictures back, we were blown away. We had always hoped they would be good, but they were more than good. Jess and Genie put in more time than any average photographers in choosing and carefully editing each photo and it showed. They depicted our day in an original and intimate way that left a huge smile on our faces as we looked through them. The day after pictures were AMAZING. So original, creative, and beautiful. After the wedding day is over, there are so few things left to remember it by as years pass so the photos were a priority for us. We feel so honored to have such beautiful, original photos that reflect us and our day that we can cherish for years to come. The photos were magazine quality with a creative and intimate twist unlike anyone else's photos, which was the reason we chose Jess and Genie and they more than exceeded our expectations.

One set price for 2 photographers for as long as you need them, do I need to say more? Gene and Jess were so pleasant to work with - they truly care about you as a bride/groom and your big day. You can tell these two are a dynamic pair when you first meet them - they divide and concur. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Given it is wedding season, we do not have our finished product yet - however, clear expectations were set upfront which I respect. I have no doubt the photos will be amazing.

Choosing Jess and Genie to shoot our wedding was one of the easiest choices we made for our wedding. The duo was extremely talented, professional, and fun to work with on such a special occasion. Their vision for our engagement and wedding photos were completely aligned with ours, and the artistic quality that they brought to the table made all of our pictures truly incredible.

As Chicagoans, we were planning a small, destination wedding. Our ceremony was comprised of only 15 people, and each person present played a very important role in our ceremony. Jess and Genie successfully captured each moment and delivered breathtaking pictures of us, the bride and groom, but also our families and friends. The photos we received were outstanding quality, and Jess and Genie provided us so much more than what we expected! Each picture incorporated the emotion and joy of the day, along with the beauty of the location. Furthermore, we are able to easily reproduce all the images that were taken, as they provided us with several discs of all the images.

We are so thankful that Jess and Genie were able to participate in our wedding, and would not change one thing! We will always be able to remember the wonderful events of our wedding day because of their incredible talents.

Wow, what can I say... Jess and Genie were just simply amazing. I had hardly any idea what I was doing on the wedding day but when it came to the photography, Jess and Genie knew exactly what to do and made it very easy and natural for us. From beginning to end, our communication with them was open and clear. Jess told us exactly what to expect and exactly what we were getting. They are extremely prepared and just exude the air of well-trained professionals that have seen hundreds of weddings. They knew exactly what to say to get people to smile. They joke at the right times and know how to connect with every single member of the wedding party and guest that they photographed. And they do all of this naturally because their personalities are just likeable. :) Out of all the vendors that I hired that night, family and friends commented on and praised Jess and Genie's work the most, noting that they were just SO on top of things. Everyone said these things without even having seen a single photo (our wedding was just 2 days ago), THAT'S how good they are! And we can say the same... that you cannot go wrong with Jess and Genie. They know their stuff! And you are definitely getting your money's worth! For example, I had no idea there would be no lighting on our dance floor. So we were all dancing... in the dark. But Jess and Genie rolled with it, didn't even say a word to me and just kept shooting. They are such troopers and do such an awesome job. Jess and Genie are an amazing team. They were our wedding photographers and did a shoot in Flagstaff, Sedona, and traveled with us on our destination wedding to Mexico. Let's just start by saying that Jess is amazing and incredibly talented! Jess spent ~8 hours shooting our engagement pictures in Sedona and those turned out beautiful! Jess and Genie spent all day with us at The Boulders for our ceremony/reception; they were extremely professional and flexible, fun too! We are so excited to see our wedding photos and are confident they will exceed our expectations. So now that it has been 60 days, we received our pictures and they did exceed our expectations! They are so beautiful, I cannot wait to frame my entire wedding! I honesty have no idea where to start because there are so many great shots! I think it can often be challenging to capture people outside and everyone looks so soft. It has been two weeks now since we have seen our pictures and I look at them everyday, reliving our perfect wedding! Jess and Genie are by far the most professional and skilled photographers that I have worked with. They genuinely care about providing each and every client with an experience and photos that they will cherish forever. They photographed our wedding four months ago and our guests are STILL raving about how impressed they were. I am a wedding photographer, so of course the photos of our big day were one of the most important things to me, and I am awestruck by the photos we received. Jess and Genie went above and beyond our expectations in so many ways. They are truly dedicated to their work and it's obvious how much they love their job when you look at the quality of the photos they produce and the relationships they build with their clients. Jess and Genie are both very professional and very talented photographers. In this day and age it takes more than that though, and this is where Jess and Genie excel. We had booked this vendor for a January wedding and they were very flexible, professional, and paid full attention to detail. They had no extra charges when going anywhere within Arizona and they didn't charge you by the hour like most other photographers do... Jess and Genie are absolutely, 100% a class act! Not only are they extremely talented, but their customer service is SECOND TO NONE! This was evident from the first moment I spoke to Jess on the phone, as he called me shortly after submitted my inquiry online. He took the time to explain to me what to look for in a photographer, even if we chose not to go with him. Between the website photos and his charming personality and knowledge, how could I want to go anywhere else?! It was evident from that moment that they really, truly care and LOVE what they do...and that love is put into every shot that they take from the event through the tremendous amount of post-production work that they do!
We did our engagement photo shoot with them and the photos are breathtaking! (Please see us on their website, under “engagement” – we’re with the airplanes!) Jess and Genie genuinely listen and go above and beyond to accommodate your needs…battling crowds, enduring sunburns, precariously perching on ladders – whatever it took to get “THE SHOT”! Love it!
They were just as amazing on our wedding day! They were efficient and friendly; they mixed well with the guests and weren’t shy about directing friends/family to make sure we got all of the shots we wanted. They were with us for the duration again, too - bless their hearts! The pictures of course are absolutely stunning – I cried when I saw them because they are SO beautiful! Some of them look like magazine ads. Can I just say that I love the way I look, too? I have never felt so beautiful as I did looking at our pictures, I am SO proud to show them off!! They were really able to capture the scope of our wedding day and every special moment…along with some very fun moments, too! I HIGHLY recommend them, for not only are they the best in the business, they are extremely affordable as well. Jess and Genie, are by far one of the most professional people I have worked with. My wife and I began our search for photographers while I was deployed and she came upon this one. Due to the lack of internet I could not see their website, but the price had intrigued me. The photographers I reviewed prior to the internet going out, their prices were outrageous. Trusting my wife to be at the time, we decided to go with them and it has been the best decision ever. Through emails and phone calls we kept in touch and a month prior to the wedding we finally met with Jess at our venue so that he can get an idea of how things were going to flow. He was most accomadating to my schedule since I left quite a bit prior to the wedding. On the day of the wedding they showed up at 9am to photograph my wife and her bridesmaids getting ready, they are great to sticking to the timeline and everything went on without any hic-ups. THey stayed with us until about 11pm. The end result was absolutely amazing. THey provided us with 3000raw images taken that day, the finished product of 307images in color, black and white, web ready images, 4x6 images and 8x10. The 307 images they chose were great and retell the story of our wedding. Our package included a day after shoot, or trash the dress and Jess met us up a month later to take that. Their knack for getting the right picture is amazing and both wedding day and day after shoot were awesome. All of our friends and family are ranting and raving about our photo and of course that would not be without Jess and Genie. We had our wedding at Skyline Country Club and all the pictures are amazing. I highly recommend Birdsong as your wedding photographers and future events!

Jess and Genie are by far THE best photographers in AZ. Talk about getting your money's worth plus some~! While a lot of photographers charge a significant amount of money, don't let their budget friendly price fool you, I will gaurantee you that they will do 100X more than the other photgraphers out there. They showed up on our wedding day at 9am and did not leave until about 11pm, without charging us extra, they are truly there for you and your big day. They captured everything we wanted; they gave us all the 3000 raw images, along with their edited photos in color, black and white, web ready images, and images to print in either 4x6 and 8x10. They are friendly, professionals and most importantly an artist with their equipment and vision. We had our wedding in Tucson, at Skyline Country Club and we had the most amazing photos. Our package included a day after, or trash the dress session with Jess, a month later, and he did an awesome job to tie in the theme of our venue from our wedding day. We met with Jess before the wedding, Jess and Genie were with us early on our wedding day until late evening and a month later for our trash the dress. They respond to all emails and phone calls in a timely manner so that coordination is as smooth as possible. I highly reccomend them for your wedding or next event!

Jess and Genie were AMAZING photographers at my wedding!! The photographs are absolutely beautiful and more gorgeous than I imagined! Your ceremony generally lasts for 15 minutes but your wedding pictures are forever. I looked long and hard to find the right photographers. Being a photographer, I thought it would be difficult to select a photographer that met my expectations. As soon as I saw their website, I knew I had found them. From first contact until the delivery of our photos I have been nothing but pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality and professionalism I was provided with. Jess and Genie are absolutely incredible. I had visited with several photographers prior to meeting with Jess and Genie and as soon as I met them, I knew they were the right choice... they even impressed my mother (sometimes hard to do!) After reviewing their portfolio and meeting with them, I was certain that our wedding pictures would be great. From the moment I met Jess and Genie to after the big day, they have been such a pleasure to work with. They set the bar so high, that I was expecting great photos... but they went above and beyond we have AMAZING photos. All of our friends keep asking, "Who was your photographer!!!???" Our picture are stunning and the emotions of the day are perfectly documented. In addition to absolutely wonderful work, Jess and Genie are professional, kind, patient, creative and organized. I give them my highest recommendation and hope to work with them in the near future! You will not be disappointed with your pictures or the experience!!

You have a beautiful way to capture the imagination. During our photo shoots and interacting with you on our wedding day, your perception had meaning and feeling. Jess and Genie were wonderful to work with. From the moment we hired them to the day of the wedding, they were helpful and professional. No matter what we always felt comfortable calling them and getting their recommendations for a stress free day with great pictures. In fact, we loved their work so much we ended up using them for several other photo shoots, like one with my mom for mother's day. Out of all of our wedding vendors, they were the most reliable and trustworthy, and we really felt comfortable having them at the wedding. In fact, at that point they felt more like guests at our wedding than vendors.

Jess is the best photographer you could get! His pictures and creativity are unmatched. He is professional and friendly with the guests. We have used him for other photographs as well because he is the best!

Jess and Genie at Birdsong Wedding Photography are amazing and we could not have wished for a better experience on our wedding day. They are sharp, imaginative, creative and artistic. They have been able to capture that ' tender, intimate and emotional moment' that words could not express on our wedding day through their camera lens. We can not thank Jess and Genie enough for all their hard work, and believe me they worked very hard making sure the lighting was 'just right' running up and down a hillside of rock to capture that perfect picture at sunset. Jess and Genie are not your typical wedding photographers, they are the best up and coming professionals that wedding photography has seen. Thank you Jess and Genie, you have been able to take the love that we have for each other, capture and express it in your work.

Jess and Genie provided me a sense of relief on my wedding day. I simply let them take the lead and they completely knew what to do. I was very comfortable with both of them, and they got along beautifully with my friends and family.

My favorite thing about them is that they are not typical wedding photographers---they gave us a sense of modernity, which was what our wedding was all about. They have a great eye, and because of them, I have beautiful memories of our wedding day.

We purchased the all day package----which, for us, was necessary. The value could not be beat, especially for the level of professionalism and quality we received. I highly recommend Birdsong!!!

Jess and Jeanie are amazing photographers. They were really great with my guests (especially getting the kids to smile) and were totally receptive to my special requests. The preview photos were great, and I'm totally excited to see the rest of the pictures. A bonus with Birdsong - they give you a digital copy of ALL the shots from the wedding/reception (not just the ones they edit).
Absolutely recommend - plus their prices are very reasonable.

Jess and Genie are very talented photographers and their personalities make you feel at ease, especially if you are initially uncomfortable (like me!). They guide you through the entire process and have great ideas. For example, we had our engagement photos completed by Birdsong as well as our wedding. All we knew was that we wanted our engagement photos taken in Sedona and Jess immediately knew of great places to take us. The backdrops for the photos were incredible!!! It was like taking a guided tour of Sedona! Jess even has an Off-road Jeep to be able to go to places that no other photographers could go. Jess was also a great coach and was able to direct us of how to pose more naturally. The pictures on our wedding day were also spectacular and they did not miss a thing. Since there are 2 of them, the took some pictures that may have been missed if there were just 1 photographer. I listed a 4 out of 5 on flexibility only because they are in such demand that they are very busy (rightfully so because they are so good). Jess was very good about responded via email and explaining the plan in detail. I highly recommend Birdsong and I am so glad that we were able to have them document our special day. The only thing I wish I would have done is request more "natural pose" photographs as if it were just my husband and & I together without posing. Regardless, I love our photographs and am so relieved that they turned out so well. Birdsong is amazing!
