    100% Amazing

    We chose the Bern Farm very early on in the planning process. The kindness and expertise Andrea displayed from day one were amazing. She treated us like real people, not just pushing for us to choose the Bern Farm. Andrea answered all of our questions and had multiple meeting with us to ease our minds. The venue is absolutely stunning and has so many options. The ceremony and reception spaces are so beautifully decorated, we had to bring very little decor in. It rained on our wedding day, but Andrea was sure to not let the weather interfere. The team at the Bern Farm was so professional and kind, we could not have chosen a better venue!

    Easy going and super helpful!

    Absolutely beautiful venue! Great pricing and super nice and flexible. Would highly recommend.

    Such a beautiful venue!

    We chose the Bern Farm for many reasons including location, ceremony/reception options, price, and friendliness. I can't express enough how beautiful this venue is! Andrea does a wonderful job with this wedding venue. We had many different options on where we could have our ceremony and reception. Our ceremony was outside by the shed, cocktail hour was beneath the barn and reception was in the barn. Everything turned out perfect!!! Andrea was very helpful throughout the planning process and always responded quickly to our questions. We loved having our big day here! Such a beautiful and memorable property! Highly recommend and for the price you really cannot beat it ! you get a lot for your money. Andrea also has decor that you can use at no extra charge which was a huge help and made our event even nicer!

    The carriage house at bern farm

    Andrea is absolutely amazing !! She will sit with you until there is nothing less and if she gives you recommendations make sure you call it was the best thing I did

    Andrea was our saving grace when our venue plans fell through 4 months before the wedding. She put together an absolutely beautiful ceremony in the barn, and assisted with much of the decor. She was flexible with our preferences and encouraged to visit and contact her with any questions we had. Her responsiveness was impressive- replying on nights and weekends when we were hammering out the details pre-contract. She was a delight to work with and we knew we could trust her with the most important day of our lives. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

    Made every aspect of our experience wonderful

    Andrea was wonderful and Bern Farm worked with us as we had to postpone with one month left to go because of Covid. For how stressful planning was, and adding in covid changes for our wedding a year later, working with Bern Farm was so easy and Andrea gave us suggestions for vendors as well. We had the best time and everything came together perfectly. Couldn’t say enough good things about our experience.

    Absolutely beautiful location, many options for where you want the ceremony and reception! Great place for good pictures, has a lot of space if you are looking to have a decent size wedding. We did have some miscommunication's with them when we got closer to the wedding but they went above and beyond to correct the issues. Price was pretty reasonable for the size of the venue, they are a newer venue so some bumps are to be expected but they have great potential.

    Unprofessional

    Had previously written a review on how great and beautiful this place was when we booked them for our venue. The place is beautiful, but, they take forever to return your calls or messages, after you pay 5700$ for the venue they then tell you you owe them another 400$ for bathrooms. We were pressured into paying for trash cleanup at 10$/hr for two people. Didn’t hire them but they were their anyway picking up trash and throwing guests drinks away they weren’t finished with. Half of our guests left halfway through the night because they thought the reception was over. They are rude to your guests and will constantly pressure you into doing things her way instead of the way you want it because it’s easier for her. Our guests were kicked out of the downstairs area when we purchased the venue until 10pm. Only one heater downstairs would work so everyone was cold and huddled around that one heater. She will also wait until the groom is not around to try to pressure the bride into paying for anything the groom refused.

    However, we would like to describe our Venue's point of view in response to your review.
    We tried to go above and beyond our standard venue services for your wedding.

    With sincere respect, we completely disagree with you and adamantly deny that we pressured anyone about anything, was rude, or did not answer emails in a timely fashion. This is not our style.
    The only time we do things "our way" is when a facility policy needs to be followed or a safety concern happens. Otherwise we are pretty open to suggestions for an awesome event.

    Our belief is this is your wedding, your day, your vision. We only want to make it happen for you.

    We asked where and how you wanted your wedding, we were ready to make your wedding where ever you wanted on the farm, and we said this to you specifically!
    A suggestion was made to change the outside standing ceremony to an inside seated ceremony option because of the cold, breezy, cloudy November weather.
    We specifically asked you the day before the wedding what you wanted, and you made the final call. Not us. We would do what you wanted and we said it to you often.

    We kindly created and put together your wedding ceremony arbor with our autumn decor and ferns, and then took it down to transition to your dance floor.
    Our Staff did this during your cocktail hour.
    This was not our responsibility, however, we did it because we truly love to make our couple's happy and wanted a smooth transition for your day.

    We also were there for your rehearsal practice, dinner, and clean up.
    We set up your cocktail hour with our linens and table decor.
    We were there so you could enjoy your evening with your family and friends because isn't that what it is all about? We asked for nothing for this service.

    Regarding venue/wedding clean up:
    Our contract covered this -

    "Your Catering Company and Bar Service is responsible for the set-up, break-down, and clean-up of the entire catered site including guest tables. All Vendors must have a Certificate of insurance".

    "Please allow appropriate time for break-down and clean-up".

    "All event trash must be disposed of in the designated areas at the conclusion of the event by Caterer or Clients".


    The hired Caterer was to be the person to clean up - including plates, glasses, ECT from the guest tables at both Cocktail hour and reception.
    Your Caterer, Mission BBQ( who we love because they are awesome!!!) does provide this service. We know this because they have been to our facility before and fulfilled this contract obligation.
    However you chose family and friends to help, which we are very cool with but...

    This is what happened at your wedding-

    The cocktail hour location was not cleaned up by anyone.
    It was left with food, trash, drinks for longer than an hour after cocktail hour was transitioned to the reception.
    I respectfully ask you - who was going to do this service during your reception ceremonies?

    Yes, we cleaned up the cocktail hour and Properly wrapped up your food to prevent spoilage, and removed all the trash. Our staff did this work at N/C to you out of respect for you and your guests.

    As a Venue it has been our experience that guests do not want to help clean up at a wedding.
    This is why we put in our contract that a service must be hired to have this done. The guest table clean up was discussed with you and you assured us that your guests would pick up their plate throw it out and take the trash out to the correct area.
    This did not happen. Your guests did not clear their places.
    At 830 pm (5 hours into the reception) plates and trash were still on the reception tables. This was not acceptable.
    It has also been our experience that guests do not like to sit with half eaten food, dirty plates and utensils at their tables. Therefore we removed the trash, and dirty plates only.
    Your guests "thanked" our Staff for finally clearing their tables.

    Our Staff did not clear drinks because your reception at this time was still in progress.

    Regarding the outside heaters, anyone who was outside around the heater on the patio was smoking.

    Our facility policy is that we ask that Smoking be on the patio area, that is why we put the heater out on the patio , for the smokers, to stay warm while they are smoking outside.

    We also set up your smores bar for your guests to enjoy. Your guests loved it and enjoyed the open fire pit. We knew you wanted a smores bar, searched for the supplies and made it happen because we knew it was what you wanted for your wedding vision.

    Regarding your mention of the downstairs - the doors were closed because it was a cold evening and no one was using that location. All guests (except the smokers) we're in the reception area enjoying your wedding.

    Your cocktail and reception went from 3:30pm till 10pm. We were there till you dismissed the bar service and D.J.
    We did not end anything early.

    Our staff is truly hurt by your review.
    We worked above and beyond to make your wedding a beautiful day for you and your guests.
    We are sorry we did not meet your standards.

    literally a nightmare

    We were to have our wedding here. Due to COVID we could not. I cancelled Andrea told me she would refund our deposit if she rebooked. I went on our day and sure enough she had another event there. I still have not received my deposit. She won't even return my calls, emails or texts. Very disappointing.

    I had a pre-written review for this venue, it just happened to be about 3x longer than the site allows. It was THAT BAD! I’ll highlight some of the issues for you.

    1)The venue has an in house coordinator that is absolutely terrible. She’s also your only option when it comes to interacting with them.

    2)She is nearly impossible to get ahold of and takes weeks to answer your messages or calls. When she does it has nothing to do with your email and she talks in very loose circles

    3)She’s absurdly rude, showed up to our wedding and reception wearing leggings and a T-shirt, yelled at guests, then mingled with them while drinking the wine we had for guests

    4) she did not keep notes regarding the plans for our ceremony and reception. She didn’t put out things that we asked for as well as things that common sense dictates such as garbage cans. She insisted repeatedly that set up was her responsibility but did nearly nothing to help with it

    5) she is entirely unresponsive to your concerns. She did not clean bathrooms (again her responsibility) and unbeknownst to me left my sister in law to scrub urine from the floor, from the previous wedding, in a bridesmaids dress

    6)She attempted to ignore our requests to do what was “easier for her” and also tried to charge us for things that were supposed to be included repeatedly. During multiple discussions she told us a commercial kitchen was available (never mentioning additional cost or listing this in the contract). The day of the reception she added a large price tag to it and jeopardized the entire reception! These additional costs were despite drop in venue cost of $1200 71 days after our wedding.

    7)I emailed her about these concerns and received a generic response without addressing any of them or an apology

    I’d never use this venue again which is so sad as it’s absolutely gorgeous
