Bentwater Yacht Club Reviews

Our wedding was on Saturday, December 2, 2023. We had a full-service wedding with Bentwater, which included the venue rental, catering and alcohol services, and our bridal party stayed in the villas at Bentwater for the wedding weekend. We first booked the venue on May 1, 2022, with the previous event coordinator one day after their spring sale ended, but the manager was nice enough to still give us the sale discount with our contract. Green flag number one! We then met with their new event coordinator, Mirinda, a couple of months later and had the best initial meeting. She helped us ease our worries about having enough room for 150+ guests for a sit-down reception. We then set up our menu tasting, which was super professional and presented super nice (It had a mockup wedding menu with our choices as well, so cute!). We all loved our options and got so many compliments about the food the day of our wedding! We had three different passed appetizers during the cocktail hour and two different entree choices for the reception. Food is one part of a wedding that guests remember, good or bad, and we're happy everyone loved it! Green flag number 2! The Bentwater staff was also super accommodating for all of our DIY projects. My husband handmade an ice cream cart, which they used as our cocktail hour bar on the patio. The bartenders were super friendly, professional, and highly skilled! My dad remembers explicitly the many tricks they performed while serving the drinks, and they expertly handled the ice luge my husband surprised me with for the reception! The week before the wedding, they ensured we had plenty of backup plans for any weather (Houston/Conroe weather can be highly unpredictable for outdoor weddings). Thankfully, the weather was perfect, and the lake as our ceremony backdrop made for a truly breathtaking experience! Mirinda also recommended us to Andrea, a fantastic wedding planner (Weddings by Andrea) who also worked for Bentwater and planned the day out perfectly! Bentwater Yacht Club is such a beautiful and romantic event space! I wish I could do it all again at Bentwater every weekend!

Kudos to Bentwater Yacht & Country Club for not only providing a gorgeous backdrop for our wedding, but the expertise & professionalism to make it a day to remember. And I don’t know if it was luck of the draw but I had the pleasure of working with Mirinda Crawford, Event Coordinator who went over & beyond to help turn our vision into reality. Kudos to Mirinda, Chef Tim & their awesome staff! Our guest-list was relatively small (approx 60) but we highly recommend BW to anyone planning a special event regardless of size.

We had my sons wedding here and it was beautiful. From the first meeting with Mirinda, the event coordinator, we knew Bentwater was the place. Mirinda stayed in contact with us and walked us through every step. We received so many compliments on the venue and food. Do yourself a favor and make an appt for a tour. You won’t regret it.

Beautiful venue & view!! I had a micro wedding (around 50 people) and lunch reception afterwards so I was looking for something affordable since our big celebration will be in Dallas in September so this checked everything off my list. Thank you so much Cheryl for all your hard work! Your customer service, professionalism and heart are the selling point of this venue. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the manager and staff. The heat in Houston was unbearable and they accommodated us to still have a water view and take photos by the gazebo overlooking the lake. It’s truly breathtaking. As a bride trying to calm my nerves was hard enough so I won’t go into the negative but all is well now and I’m just grateful Cheryl had the right mindset and attitude that helped me remain calm.

We toured Bentwater’s yacht ballroom 8 months previous to our date. The minute I walked in, I knew I would be choosing the location. What made it better was dealing with Cheryl White. We took us on like family and made sure we understood every step of the process. Sure, there were some frustrations but overall we adjusted and overcame anything that was thrown at us. It was truly an honor to have my wedding with Bentwater. The serving team, management, coordinators and the front dest at BW have been such a joy to work with.

This venue is AMAZING. They have everything you need-- two gazebo options, a lighthouse, a pool, a fountain, a beautiful reception hall filled with windows, in-house catering, a spa, and villas for guests to stay in. The service here is fantastic. I worked with Cheryl (event coordinator), Mirinda (her assistant), and Peter (banquet manager). They were extremely professional and prompt. Cheryl coordinated with the DJ (DJ Duke -- https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/events-by-duke-houston/b9863d756739da0d.html) and our photographer (Mike Rathke -- https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/rathke-photography-humble/394e0926ec469828.html) and made the timing of everything perfect. From the ceremony through our own private dinner, to our entrance, first dances, speeches, cake cutting, and departure Cheryl was there every step of the way keeping time and making the schedule flexible for us. Peter was also flexible in timing and anticipated our needs, making sure we had food and champagne all night. Mirinda was an angel -- she kept notes of every meeting and designed a "no cellphone wedding" sign that was BEAUTIFUL. The staff working the wedding were prompt and efficient (I had guests come to me to comment on the service). Everyone truly went above and beyond to make this night unforgettable. I.e. I visited the venue a few weeks before the wedding and noticed the fountain was off. I notified Cheryl who talked to maintenance who miraculously ordered the part and fixed the fountain in time for the wedding. A week before the wedding, we decided to change the color of our linens and Cheryl made it happen. Everything was beautiful, seamless, and stress-free due to Cheryl, Mirinda, and Peter. If you ever find yourself looking for a marina/country club with a beautiful view, excellent service, and fantastic amenities, I highly recommend Bentwater, and more specifically, working with these three individuals if given the chance.

I worked with Kam from the beginning, she was very helpful with all information up front and super thorough with littlest of details. She thought of everything we would need. When we arrived the room was very clean and beautiful! Kasey was there day of to help, she was willing to help with any and everything! Amazing experience!

Excellent food and service. Only one very small comment is that the tables were not set up according to the diagram but only one place setting needed to be moved and the staff took care of that promptly. Everything else was exceptional!

Cassondra the Event Manager was great. She knew what we needed for the event and was over the top in everything!
We had a great time and it could not have been better.

Had a wonderful wedding reception at Bentwater Yacht Club! We live in the neighborhood so were very familiar with the venue. They recently underwent some remodeling with all new chairs and lighting. The updates are wonderful and you can’t beat the lake front location. We had tons of compliments on how wonderful the serving stuff was! Bentwater is highly punctual and really led the way with a lot of tasks that other venues do not. We had tons of compliments on the quality of food - and of course it makes it easy that Bentwater does their own catering and liquor. It’s a one stop shop. We just did a cash bar and it was a hit!

Absolutely perfect, they worked with me every step of the way to help make all my visions a reality. The venue is beautiful, the bridal tower is private and spacious, and the staff is wonderful.

From beginning to the end Kam was available for any questions that I had, I would certainly recommend her and the Bentwater venue.

My wedding was on 9/15/18 and I can honestly say everything was perfect! Kam is great to work with she responds very quick to emails. She definitely made my night perfect along with the staff. The view is wonderful and exactly what I was looking for. The food was also great by the way! I received many compliments from my guest. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

I had my wedding reception at the Bentwater Yacht Club. Connie and her team were so professional and everything went so smooth. Never an issue and she was so flexible with meeting with me since I live out of the area. The staff was professional and the space was clean and the food was fantastic!

Great experience. The help we received while planning our wedding was superb. The care that was taken to ensure we got everything done in time and that it was up to our expectations was so appreciated.

Gorgeous Venue. Food is delicious and surroundings provide for awesome photos. The coordinator they have at the venue is lacking though. We had a friend who was helping us out with coordinating and without our friend being involved the wedding may have had a lot of flaws. The event coordinator for Bentwater was showing people around the venue just hours before our wedding ceremony was to begin and she also left before we even cut the cake. The venue itself though was absolutely amazing!

Cindy was so helpful and made sure that everything ran smooth. The food was great and we loved that alcohol was included with the food package. We had so many complements on how beautiful the venue was!

CINDY DEY IS AWESOME! She's the one responsible in making every "Dream Wedding" come true. Her attention to detail and professionalism is one of a kind. After meeting with so many vendors and venues we knew this place was the one—the beautiful place, the exquisite food and the great service. Cindy is not just another vendor... she is your friend.

I was most happy with Cindy Dey for her professionalism. She never said "no" to any of my ideas and had plenty suggestions. Cindy would call any vendor to straighten out my concerns. She made my job so easy. Cindy is always calm and willing to please. That is a big help to a Mother of the Bride, who has so much on her mind.

I had more guest than expected, as my guest entered she was setting tables to accomadate them. I was busy with the bride, while she made sure all my guest needs were met. I had several child as guest, they had a wonderful time. They had high chairs and tired children sleeping everywhere.Cindy had no problem with a big family wedding. My relatives had nothing but praise for the Bentwater staff. All of my guest thought the menu tasted outstanding, way to go Chef!

The wedding party was treated like royalty. Cindy greeted them outside in 95 degree tempertures to get them to the ready room, before presenting them to the guest, where they enjoyed refreshments. Also, she and her staff packed a to go dinner, put it in the limo, for them to enjoy on their way to the hotel. Just in case the bride and groom didn't get to eat all on the menu.

I seriously could not have been happier. It was a lovely day!! I would highly recommended anyone to book any event with Cindy and Bentwater yacht Club Staff.

This venue is gorgeous and Cindy Dey was incredible as a lot of the planning was done from out of state. We married in the gazebo and then had our reception in the yacht club. We opted for the pasta dinner choice and our guests (from young children, to 20/30 somethings, to 60+) all commented on the great food, service, and overall presentation. They told us it, "was the best wedding food we have ever had...maybe even the best food!"

We were able to bring in a couple of our decorations, but the yacht club provided everything you would need. Again, Cindy coordinated our rehersal, the cake cutting, kept the photographer and DJ on track, and got us to where we needed to be. There are 2 large rooms for the bridal party, andthe views were sensational.

We were able to do a sophiscated 90-95 person wedding for under 10-grand - this included our beer/wine, and champagne toast. Our friends and families stayed in the villas and we were able to get together before and after, making that last minute help easily accessable.

We did our rehersal dinner on a rented 50 person party boat that also came and picked us up/dropped us off the day before right at the Bentwater gazebo. We had a brisket dinner brought in and the guys from "Just For Fun" were also superb as they drove us around the lake. We rented that same party boat for a half day the day after the wedding as well, and same wonderful service.

I don't think you could find a better venue for your wedding - two thumbs up for Cindy Dey and the Bentwater Yacht & Country Club!

Having my wedding at Bentwater was a Sheer Delight! I enjoyed working with Cindy, and Bentwater offered everything I needed to make my day Special. I highly recommend future brides to book their wedding at Bentwater, You will LOVE IT!

I would recommend this venue to everyone! The Bentwater Yacht Club was magnificent in both beauty and staff. My husband and I had the best wedding and people keep coming up to us and telling us how great the wedding was, and how it was one of their favorites! They also tell us that they didn't know this gem excited so close to Houston. It's like being at a destination wedding but only an hour outside of Houston, TX. Not only is the scenery great, but the food was great too! So easy to coordinate food and alcohol since its with the venue and they actually work with you unlike most places who flat out tell you a number and price. I could not have survived the planning process without Kam Brewer; she made sure every detail was perfect and responded to my emails literally at all hours of the day, 7 days a week. She is the most amazing caterer/assistant/decorator/coordinator/planner/manager extraordinaire, and she is really the reason my wedding day was absolutely perfect.

Cindy Dey and her staff at Bentwater were incredible. They had everything under control the day of the event. My daughter's wedding day turned out to be a cold, rainy, miserable day outside, where the ceremony was planned, but Cindy and her staff were "ON TOP OF IT" and moved the ceremony inside. It turned out to be a very beautiful, warm, intimate ceremony and reception. My daughter and son-in-law couldn't have asked for anything more. You won't have to worry about anything because the staff at Bentwater will take care of all the details. All you have to do is enjoy the special event.

The venue is gorgeous with total water views! Cassondra and her team were extremely helpful and patient working with me. They had great ideas, were timely, responsive to any and all concerns and made my son's rehearsal dinner go off without a hitch!

Had my wedding there September 23, 2018. Was beautiful venue and entire staff was courteous, professional and very helpful. The food was good and the villas were a good place for my out of town guests to stay. Also had my rehearsal dinner there. It was a pleasure working with the staff at Bentwater and would definitely recommend them.

I looked everywhere for the perfect venue. Just when I thought I would never find it, I came across BW and was ecstatic! However, the reviews made me somewhat stand-offish, but once we toured the venue, we booked it instantly. The venue is absolutely stunning, and you really can't beat the inclusive wedding package they offer. At the time of my booking, BW was undergoing some changes, so I dealt with 2 coordinators, one being Trish... So, I can understand a lot of the reviews posted here. However, Trish is a very bubbly & fun individual, and really does want to make your wedding dreams come true. She may not have responded to my emails that exact day, but being the main event coordinator for all of BW and trying to cleanup the mess the previous coordinator(s) left behind, I totally understood that she was a very busy person - some people just don't realize this. Trish really did work extremely hard to accomodate our wishes and helped us have the best night of our lives! Bentwater was our dream wedding spot and Trish played a huge role in making everything perfect!

It's pricey but it's worth it for the view and service!

Absolutely gorgeous venue for a reasonable price! Unfortunately, there were quite a bit of changes in coordinators during my wedding length but everything worked out in the end thanks to the amazing Andrea! The venue has both food and drink packages which make planning convenient. This venue also has villas at a discounted rate for wedding parties. We were unable to take advantage of this perk but would defiantly encourage other brides to! We did have some issues with guest not knowing where the venue was due to poor signage and guards lack of direction of guests (so make sure to provide explicit detail on your wedding website/invitations). Overall, so glad we choose this venue for our wedding and would highly recommend others to as well!

The bottom line is that the Bentwater Yacht Club is a gorgeous place for a wedding and the value is great. I was able to afford a better food and beverage package there than I would have at several of the other places I considered, and I have gotten endless comments about the beauty of the location and the quality of the food and service. I loved having my wedding there and the day went perfectly.

I would have loved to give Bentwater 5 stars in every category, but there were a few hitches during the planning process that I couldn't ignore. I think they've sorted out their administrative issues now, though, and I would recommend Bentwater to anyone.

Overall our wedding was perfect! There some issues leading up, more so just miscommunication! BUT the food was amazing, and the venue is gorgeous! Our guest loved everything, and talked so much after the wedding about how delicious the food was and how beautiful it all was. We got married at he front garden gazebo and even though there are not too many lights out there, it turned out!!
Connie really helped make it all happen for us and we are grateful we were able to have our wedding at Bentwater!

We had our wedding here and it actually turned out great but the stress I had to endure in the planning was unreasonable. The catering department is a disaster, apparently. I never got anything in writing about the details of my wedding until two days before the wedding. I would call and leave messages and no one would return them. And if I did get a hold of them, they would say, oh ok, I'll have it to you by Friday and then nothing for weeks. My husband's aunt called a million times to set up a brunch for the next day and no one called her back for over a month. Luckily, we had a Day-Of coordinator not associated with Bentwater that made sure things happened correctly at the event so it turned out ok. Thank goodness
The Pros: Beautiful, nice villas, food was definitely decent, price, flexible (provided babysitter that was great and made us pies)
Cons: Not professional or responsive AT ALL, no follow up, they forgot my aisle runner so I walked down the aisle on concrete :( who knows what else would have been missing if it weren't for our coordinator??

I am sorry to say that I am shocked and extremely disappointed at the unprofessionalism and deception that Bentwater has presented me with. From Jan-April, Bentwater went through several wedding coordinators. I can't tell you how many women I talked to that I had no idea who I was, couldn't find my wedding info, etc. Furthermore, we also had reserved 30 Villas for our guests with Cindy. Every time I spoke with Trish, I asked "Are our villas still blocked off? Will you please check to make sure?" 3 months before the wedding she calls saying that we only have 9 rooms because they had to use the other ones for a golf tournament. Now, two days before my big day, Trish calls about last minute details and informs me that there will be a dinner party in the room next to ours at the same time as my wedding. This is also the room that I was supposed to be getting ready in. If you've been to Bentwater, it's not a big place. There is only one set of bathrooms and one bar in the venue. So my guests and I will be sharing my wedding reception with 50 strangers when we have paid over 12K for a venue that specifically states in the contract that we have the entire venue? Trish did not offer to try to change the dinner plans. She made it seem like I was whining and complaining over nothing. In her words "This is how this business is" and "what are you upset about?" No apology. No compensation. To add the icing to the cake, when my mother calls to deal with this issue, Trish HANGS up on her and refuses to speak to my mom. Please do not book here. The location is absolutely beautiful and the food is amazing but it is NOT worth the hassle and stress that we have had to go through with the administration.

It's absolutely heart wrenching to give them place such a bad review, but I have no choice. If Bentwater would like to actually become the diamond in the rough that it is, they must do something about their management. I could never recommend this venue to any other bride, because I would never want her to go through what me and my family experienced.

Although my wedding was beautiful and went smoothly, that was all thanks to my amazing family who was there to fully support me behind the scenes.

There are many things that I could express that frustrated me about working with Trish, but I can just say that I never felt fully supported at all at any point during the whole planning process. All I recall Trish ever relaying to me was "You do not need to ask those kinds of questions, all you need to do is show up and we will do the rest." NEVER say that to a bride and gives you any right to avoid giving me details about MY wedding.

All I can say is I an very happy to never have to work with these ladies ever again.

I waited a while to give this review so that I could write it rationally and non-emotionally.


The Good: The site is beautiful, the food is good, the prices are reasonable. The waitstaff and the bar staff are fabulous and helpful.


The Bad: The management is not good. The event coordinators are shockingly bad - unproffessional and rude. As other reviews have stated, the response to phone calls and emails leading up to the wedding was bad. Many of the things that they were contractually obligated to do - they did not do. The week of the wedding we were informed that part of the reception space was booked for another event at the same time which was in breech of our contract. They tried to get around that saying the change was written on a food/alcohol invoice. We had to consult an attorney to prove that an invoice is not legally binding and that the original contract was legally binding. We did however lose that part of the reception space for more than half of the wedding event. This was the biggest offense but not the only offense. The food that was served during the wedding was completely different from what the bride and groom ordered. We hired a day of coordinator to help us communicate with the event coordinator. Once the event coordinator found out that we hired a day of coordinator, she did nothing. Days after the wedding my coordinator told me how mean they were to her. The stress that the event coordinators/management put us through is not worth the beauty of lakeside event.

My advise to anyone who wants to have a wedding/reception here is:

1. Hire a day of coordinator, unless you are well versed in running a wedding.
2. Get EVERYTHING in writing.
3. Review the contract thoroughly and refer back to it often. Do not trust that they will follow through with their contractual agreements.

DO NOT BOOK HERE! This was the worst experience ever! They do not return calls and they have gone through 3 different wedding coordinators in 5 months. I would call and email with no response for 3 weeks!! No one ever calls to update the point of contact and let us know. You do not want this stress about your food and venue. Awful awful!!!
