I met Dorothy about a year ago and from the start she was very professional, communicative and is an amazing florist! My now husband and I met with her to discuss possibly using her as a florist for our wedding and from the time we met her, we knew that she was the perfect fit for us! She listened to my vision and made it become more than I could ever imagine! She is very helpful and detail oriented when it comes to her designing and amazing flowers! She is very fair when it comes to pricing and works with any type of budget. The night before my wedding, we decided to make a change to the location of the reception due to rain. Dorothy took your typical kitchen/living room/ dining room and transformed it to a boho greenery dream! So many of my guests said that it was the most amazing decor and florals that they have seen and even said it should have been in a magazine. She did all of my florals, ceremony decor, reception decor, coordinating, etc. Highly recommend Dorothy and you won’t be disappointed!!

Absolutely stunning.
Dorothy and her team are fabulous. Our wedding was in Hatteras/Buxton area and of course, a tropical storm decided to pop up extremely quickly week of our wedding. She was so communicative during the process, and with fears of route 12 shutting down was quick to send her team down with flowers early, as well as communicate with our venue about set up changes and advocated for me to get set up going early. As for the actual florals themselves, absolutely stunning. I am not a good planner, and through my extremely vague descriptions of my style, and lack of solid wedding color plans, she was somehow able to perfectly grasp everything and put together a plan more beautiful than I ever could have. Without her florals, it would have looked like a completely different wedding. Highly highly recommend Bells and Whistles!

My dream flowers!
I'd like to start by pointing out something that I was unaware of early on in the planning process when I first found Dorothy and Bells and Whistles...she can coordinate rentals too! I called her for flowers and was thrilled when I found out she could also do our ceremony chairs, arch, and lighting and drape in our venue....and she can also do table decor and napkins. Since she was handling all of that, I had the peace of mind knowing it would be expertly coordinated. The website mentions rentals, but it undersold what she can really do, in my opinion! Having all of that in a one-stop shop was so nice!
Now to the flowers. THE. FLOWERS. Dorothy made my pinterest dreams came true and then some. I sent her pictures for inspiration and told her what I liked and didn't like. She took my vision and ran with it. The quantity and quality of florals we received were honestly more than I was expecting. Dorothy expertly chose bud vases and accessories that perfectly complemented the style of the wedding and were, yet again, above my expectations. My grandmother, who is VERY particular about flowers, has been raving about how beautiful they were since the wedding. Trust me when I say that is a HUGE compliment coming from her. I am so glad that I hired Bells and Whistles at the Flower Field for our wedding and would do it again in a heartbeat!

Overwhelming Beauty
The flowers for my daughters March wedding at Pirates Cove were amazing. From our very first meeting a year prior, Dorothy was quick to respond to our questions, patient with our lack of flower knowledge, and brilliant with her creations. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding flowers. They turned out so beautiful and Dorothy was a pleasure to work with. She was very thorough and detailed in learning about myself, my dress and my maid of honor in order to help her choose the right design. She brought our vision to life with the wooden alter draped in fabric and floral sprays. We were faced with a tough decision on the day of wedding as it was supposed to be outside, but the weather was bad. We had to make a decision to put the alter inside and everyone was so flexible. Everything was perfect!

Both our daughter’s weddings were done by Flower Field/Belle and Whistles.
The flowers were extraordinary. There is nothing run of the mill with their decor and arrangements .
Our latest wedding was supposed to be on the beach A wicked Nor’easter meant no beach wedding. They calmed us down and moved everything into the tent. It was beautiful and great memories were made.

Dorothy was simply amazing. She turned our rental into a fairytale for our reception for our COVID mini wedding! I honestly just had a short conversation with her and sent her a few photos and the information about the house and she went from there to create the perfect decor! The best part was that the wedding was on Monday and we got to enjoy the flowers all week! My bouquet was so beautiful it made me cry (luckily before my makeup!)

We had our wedding at a beachfront home in the Outer Banks and chose Bells & Whistles for both our flowers and our event decor. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. Working with Dorothy was simply amazing. She handled everything, from the beach ceremony to the reception at our house, and everything was beautiful, and went seamlessly. She clearly demonstrated her expertise! The flowers she supplied were gorgeous - and she incorporated every color in the scheme I had chosen! Beautiful Summer Wedding 2020
My daughter was married on 8-22-20 at the Outerbanks. We met Dorothy Heath at the annual OBX Wedding Expo about one year prior to the wedding and really connected with her right away. All of the planning was conducted over the phone and via email coordination as we live out of state. Dorothy captured my daughter’s style and vision perfectly. She was so wonderful to work with and surpassed all of our expectations! Dorothy is an amazing artist! She stayed within the budget we set forth and had the most wonderful ideas! She recommended things we would never have thought! She turned the wedding reception into an absolutely beautiful summer garden with elegant touches of gold accents and flickering candlelight! We were completely blown away! Our friends are still talking about how beautiful everything was. The bridal bouquet and bridesmaid flowers were so gorgeous with the most amazing cabbage roses! Our flowers girl Halos were darling and the sweetheart table..wow!! We will be forever grateful to Dorothy and her amazing team for creating a magical day during a stressful pandemic year. More than I knew I wanted
Creativity; romance; out of the box; garden colors; I could go on and on. I had a destination wedding where I planned everything through email and phone. The flowers and décor were wonderful. I wanted to incorporate my indian heritage with the outdoors at the baech on a golf course. We did it!
On one of those rare days we had storms come through. Dorothy and her team quickly figured out a plan B. Everything turned out well.

I researched florists in the Outer Banks, as I am not local, and Dorothy with Bells & Whistles at the Flower Field blew all of my expectations out of the water. She grows a lot (if not all) of her flowers on her property and her arrangements are outstanding. My husband and I got married at the Sanderling Resort and used their Pavilion for our reception. Not only did Dorothy and her husband deliver outstanding floral arrangements, they completely transformed the Pavilion at the Sanderling by hanging lights and drapery throughout. Me and my fiancee decided to elope. In two week planning time period I was able to find a local florist for our beach elopement. Elopement in the beach

Everything was breathtaking!
Dorothy was absolutely amazing to work with. I had multiple florists in contact with me and had heard a lot of things about Dorothy. I’m not a big flower person, but I knew if I had them, I wanted it to be beautiful! When I walked into the reception & ceremony area, I got goosebumps! Everything was beautiful and even better than I could have imagined. I gave her ideas & boy did I change my mind a million times, but she worked with me and was so kind throughout my indecisiveness. From the draping, arbor floral arrangement, and centerpieces all the way to the BEAUTIFUL wreath hanging over the dance floor with fairy lights, it was all breath taking. I remember gazing at the wreath when I finally got a chance to breath & was in awe! Flowers big or small, I would recommend Dorothy any day!

Everything was stunning!
Dorothy and her team did an incredible job with the design and decor for our wedding! We were planning from across the country, so it was tough to do, but they really brought our vision to life. We had so many compliments throughout the day and she turned a simple beach house into a perfect wedding setting. The bouquets were incredible and our palm leaf arch held up so well on such a windy day. Thanks so much Dorothy!

Dorothy was so flexible and easy to talk to!
We trusted Dorothy completely. She had beautiful examples of her work and made sure we were satisfied with her suggestions as well as with our own vision. She made a beautiful bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, mother corsages, father boutonnières, groom and groomsmen boutonnières, flowers for the cake, lights strung across the ceiling, decorative frames on the wall. The venue was gorgeous! She is so flexible and super easy to work with. We’re so happy we chose Bells and Whistles - we can’t imagine anyone else doing such a beautiful job.

Dorothy was so great to work with for our 9/22/2018 wedding! Originally my mom and I had met with Dorothy in December 2017 with a general idea of what we wanted. Dorothy was extremely professional throughout the year whenever we would speak and I am so impressed with her decorative eye!!! Dorothy ran with our loose plans and colors and everything just came to life so beautifully during our wedding. The bouquets were absolutely stunning!!!! Dorothy also decorated our reception venue and it was perfect.

Dorothy did a beautiful job with our wedding flowers! Admittedly, I had very little "vision" in the floral department. I just knew I wanted something beautiful that wouldn't break the bank. Dorothy took my lack of ideas and ran with it, coming up with a bouquet that received countless compliments on the big day! She did boutineers for all the guys, and the corsages for the mothers and grandmothers were SO elegant. The centerpieces were magazine-worthy and my hairpiece - the only thing that I was very specific on - turned out perfectly!! They were responsive during the planning process and were prompt with delivery the day of! I was so pleased with everything they did for us and cannot thank them enough! :)

Dorothy was phenomenal!!!! I had talked to a few different florists that just didn’t really do it for me…. until I connected with Dorothy. I was a bride that didn’t really have a vision (there was no secret Pinterest Board for this girl) and she was so kind and patient with me. She talked me through every step of the process – provided recommendations based on my venue - provided visuals when I couldn’t quite grasp what her vision was - reworked my quote when I changed my mind for the 10th time – all with genuine passion and enthusiasm. I especially knew I had picked the “one” when we drove down to OBX from Boston in January for our pre-planning visits with our vendors. It had been snowing in OBX and the temperatures were unseasonably low - the roads were completely covered in inches of ice. For a Boston girl like myself, this was nothing, but I knew that in a place like OBX – the island probably shut-down in these conditions. Dorothy knew that this was our only opportunity to meet, as we would not be back down before the wedding and braved the elements to keep the existing appointment we had made. It sounds so silly, but this really meant so much to us, as we really wanted to connect personally with our vendors before our wedding in May. She was just as lovely, talented and creative in person as she was over the phone. Our florals came out better than I could have ever imagined. Dorothy (and team) listened to what I envisioned and executed it flawlessly (for someone who had no vision – I was very particular in what I wanted). The flowers were beautiful and so fresh. Our bouquets were GORGEOUS. I cannot tell you how many people complimented them. We had two very young flower girls and she made the most adorable flower crowns and wands for them to use – they loved it. The venue couldn’t have looked better – she completely transformed the space and gave it that romantic feel we so desperately wanted. We cannot say enough great things about the Bells & Whistles team.

We had a very good experience working with Bells and Whistles. Our center pieces and urns for the church/reception were beautiful. I was able to add charms that I had made to my bouquet which was a nice touch. The flowers and presentation certainly added a great deal to our wedding!

Dorothy made my dreams a reality! My event was gorgeous because of her and her team. Not only did she do everything we had spoken about, but she went above and beyond. The ceremony on the beach was picture perfect and the dining tables were out of my dreams. After the ceremony, she repurposed my rentals so that I could use them all night long - it made such a difference to have the glow of lanterns all around. I could not be happier with the outcome!

Dorothy was incredible to work with from start to finish. We were married March 24, 2018 at the Kitty Hawk Pier, and worked with Bells & Whistles since summer of 2017. Though we planned our wedding long-distance and never got to meet Dorothy until the day of, she took a great deal of time speaking with us both on conference calls, to really get a “feel” for who we are and what our style is. She pulled up my Pinterest account to better acquaint herself with what we liked, when I was unable to articulate verbally exactly what we were looking for. A last-minute purchase of statement earrings changed my vision on the flower crown, and I gave Dorothy full liberty to decide on the final product for me. I cried when I saw my crown and the bouquet, it was perfect! Also, she was great at working with us to stay within our budget and working to ensure we had the most important elements for our venue décor. Dorothy was so detail oriented, when we decided last-minute to add Duck donuts in addition to our cake, she offered platters and even offered to call Duck Donuts to find out what assortment they were making for us so she could make signs so our guests knew what donuts we offered. (I did not have time the day before the wedding!). We would highly recommend Dorothy for her professionalism, quality of products (flowers, ribbon, plants and greenery, china, platters, décor, vases, candles, etc.). If you are fortunate to see her shop, you will see all of the lovely items she has to offer, and I’m sure we didn’t even scratch the surface. Thank you Dorothy!

Dorothy and the rest of the team at Bells & Whistles was incredible! I knew I wanted lights strung over the backyard and pool and it looks better than I could have imagined. I wouldn't trust anyone else in OBX for your lighting needs! For decor and flowers - I didn't really have a clear preference. I knew my color scheme but didn't have a vision for flowers, bouquets or our ceremony arbor. With a small budget and no direction -- Dorothy KILLED IT! The decor was exactly what I wanted (but didn't know). It was simple but perfect!

We had a wonderful experience working with Bells and Whistles for our September wedding! Joanna was amazing and very fun to work with, and we had a blast planning all the details to make our dream wedding come to life! The greenery chandelier was stunning, and all of the flowers were beautiful! My bridal bouquet was incredible, and they even made a matching hair piece with greenery! I absolutely loved working with Dorothy to create my dream wedding! She did such a great job incorporating everything that I wanted and making it even more beautiful than I imagined! She made a gorgeous tree for the entryway that had our guest seating assignments hanging from coral ribbons surrounded by gorgeous greenery, roses, and drift wood. Dorothy did a fabulous job creating the rustic beach theme I had envisioned. I would definitely recommend her to any bride!

I can not say enough about Dorothy! We met with her for my daughter's wedding. Initially my daughter thought she wanted a "beach theme", but Dorothy had the insight to dig deeper into "who my daughter is" and what makes her happy. She's an artist...so, Dorothy asked about creating an "artistic" wedding using many colors, having my daughter create this beautiful 3 panel painting as the backdrop for the wedding and spinning all the decor around her painting. It was so personalized to who my daughter is and what she loves, art. We received so many compliments from our guests. They have never seen such a colorful wedding done so tastefully. The flowers were ABSOLUTELY amazing and breathtaking. Dorothy thought of all the small details; signage, shoe valet, escort card designs, back drop for guest photos (yet another painting), a huge sign with the wedding date to block off the pool area and use as a backdrop for the dance floor. I could go on, but you get the point. If you are having a wedding in the outer banks, NC.... Bells & Whistles (Dorothy) is really the only choice for your decor. Thanks again for a memorable wedding!

Dorothy and her team blew us away on wedding day!!! We trusted Dorothy to work with my favorite colors but free to create her completely own ceremony and reception decor, floral arrangements, bouquets, boutonnieres, and everything else you can think of. I wanted our venue to be totally transformed into someone we've never seen before. I couldn't dream up a better wedding if I tried. Every little detail was absolutely breathtaking! Our families and guests are STILL talking about the decorations and florals! It was a complete dream and we are so thankful for Dorothy's talent and creativity to make such a memorable and beautiful masterpiece of a wedding. DIY is not something you want to get into- hire someone who knows what they're doing and can give you the stress-free dream wedding you really want!

Bells & Whistles did NOT disappoint!! I worked with Joanna and she was always so quick to respond to my calls and emails!!! I met with her and explained my vision and she understood it completely. The flowers at my wedding were absolutely beautiful!!! Everything was exactly as I wanted it!! We were outside setting up the reception and she happily stepped right in to help!! While we did most of our reception decor ourselves, we relied on Bells and Whistles for our bouquets and our ceremony decor, and it was certainly one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding vendor team!! My bridal bouquet was everything I ever dreamed of (and I had a pretty specific vision) and the bridesmaids bouquets matched perfectly. I cried when they dropped the flowers off at the house where we were getting ready because they were so beautiful!! The ceremony setup was exactly what I wanted, too - beachy and casual and totally perfect.
Communication with the team was great and it was easy to send photos of what I liked along the way for inspiration.

From the initial meeting with Dorothy talking about our vision, to the amazing, gorgeous, perfect dream come to life at our wedding. We got married on the beach and the arbor and surrounding flowers and decor were gorgeous. She offers the ability to create your own centerpieces, which we did. We brought the vases to her shop, we picked our own flowers, and with Dorothy's guidance created our own personal centerpieces for our wedding. Truly amazing! My advice would be to use Dorothy Bell's and Whistles for your wedding flowers. She recently did our wedding and the flower arrangements for the attendants, church and reception were AMAZING. She really listened to us and understood exactly what we liked and disliked in floral arrangements. Our guest were constantly asking "who did your flowers"? Thank you Dorothy!!

Dorothy and her team at Bells & Whistles made our wedding PERFECT!!! They provided the most creative and gorgeous decorations and flowers. We got married on the beach and their mix of bright pops of color, lights, and natural elements truly set the stage for our amazing day. Dorothy was very responsive to emails and phone calls and she shared ideas with me openly. When I needed to modify our budget, she worked with me until we found something that worked for us-which really meant a lot to me! I can't say enough about how beautiful and fun everything looked. I HIGHLY recommend their services!!!

I was completely stunned when my flowers arrived at our ceremony site. It was exactly what I had pictured. I let Dorothy and were creative staff do what they do best and create a wonderful bouquet for me and my daughter plus one boutonniere for my husband and only sending them one picture of what I had in mind. Nothing but perfect. My bouquet is now dried in a shadow box haning on my wall. Dorothy, thank you!!!

Dorothy and her team were great! Our wedding was so beautiful thanks to them. She took my vision and rolled with it. I knew from the moment I found Bells & Whistles online and looked through their portfolio that I wanted to use them for our wedding. I worked with Dorothy through email since it was an out of town wedding for me and she made things very easy. She even made time to meet with myself and my mom a few months before the wedding when we were visiting. Fantastic team and fantastic work!

I am sitting here trying to come up with the words to describe Dorothy and the flowers she created for my wedding but I am at a loss for words. She took my ideas, inspiration, and vision, and turned it into something that was so beautiful that I couldn't have come up with it in my wildest dreams. My bouquet was the most beautiful bouquet I have ever laid eyes on. Every single detail was thought of and they all arrived on time and couldn't have been more perfect. If ANYONE is looking for a florist and event designer, you have to go to Dorothy. Easily one of the best investments we made for our wedding...

We received a ceiling installation that was made of white tulle fabric with lights in a zigzag pattern over the center of the room. It was absolutely gorgeous and very fairly pried. Everything went very smoothly with this vendor.

The flower arrangements were exactly how I wanted them and they were beautiful! What I liked most about this company is that leading up to my wedding day, the boutonnieres that I wanted (single white calla lily) did not look right, so they called me and made sure that I was okay with changing the color instead of not notifying me and chasing it anyway. I am a pretty laid back person so I wouldn't have cared anyway, but I thought it was very professional and respectful that they called and let me know. And did I mention the arrangements were beautiful???

Our wedding was somewhat a destination wedding and I like to think that I was a pretty easy bride to deal with. With that said, I pretty much put all my trust in Dorothy and her team to decorate for my wedding and I have no regrets! The decorations and flowers were absolutely amazing! It was beyond what I pictured and was super excited and pleased with everything the day off.

Dorothy and the girls at Bells and Whistles went ABOVE and BEYOND for our wedding day. Plans changed last minute due to the weather and they still made every attempt to make everything as beautiful as ever. We were floored when we walked into the reception. They did an amazing job!

Oh my gosh... where to begin! Dorothy and the crew at Bells & Whistles @ The Flower Field are beyond amazing!!! If I could give 10 stars that still would not be enough! It's hard to put into words how beautiful everything was that day... they completely made magic happen!!!
Dorothy was the first vendor I met with after we got engaged. I've known for years that when I got married, she was the one who would be handling this portion of our wedding so I met with her first to make sure I had her secured for our day. She took a look at my Pinterest board images for the look and feel and ran with it.
We wanted to transform our venue into something special and unique since it was a place we visit often. Bells & Whistles turned Duck Woods Country Club into a fairy wonderland with flowers, candlelight and a sprinkling of Scotland at every turn. She even managed to incorporate a few of my ideas and made them blend right in with everything seamlessly. The reception venue was very cozy and at the same time romantic and magical. Our guests said over and over, it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.
My bouquet was a work of art and somehow, Dorothy managed to arrange for us to have a rainbow appear during our reception... she's THAT GOOD! ;-)
I knew that everything would be amazing but it was more than I had ever imagined! I HIGHLY recommend Bells & Whistles @ The Flower Field for all your floral and event decorating needs! Thank you, thank you, thank you to the entire staff at Bells & Whistles!!!

I ordered my bridal bouquet and boutonniere from Bells and Whistles for my April wedding this year. The woman I spoke with was very professional and gave me advice on flowers to chose based on my requests. I emailed her bouquets that I liked and she was spot on with my own bouquet! It was so beautiful. I just wish I would have had it dried or preserved so I could enjoy it more than a week.

Words could not ever explain how beautiful my flowers and decorations were!! Dorothy was recommended to me by my wedding planner (The Proper Setting, LLC), she and I only spoke over the phone. With a few pins to my Wedding Board, Dorothy captured my vision (even better than I), and ran with it! My OBX wedding would not have been as beautiful without Dorothy and her Team! I spoke with Dorothy over the phone to give her an idea of what I was looking for and was able to meet with her in person to look over some of her ideas. I was not a bride who came in knowing exactly what I wanted, but after showing her the color scheme we were going for she came up with flowers that were absolutely beautiful! Dorothy and her staff did an excellent job with our reception. Due to a weather inconvenience the venue changed and she was more than accommodating to our new larger space at the Paviion in Sanderling Resort in Duck, NC. Being a destination wedding made the choice of vendors difficult to pick. She came highly recommended. The bouquets and boutonnières were beautiful. Thank You for the beautiful peonies and hydrangeas at our wedding!

Dorothy really did a wonderful job for us, especially on short notice. The flowers and the chiffon pieces she provided were perfect for our small event. The purple flowers she found based on my Pinterest ideas were just beautiful and she worked so well with our cake vendor and our venue to make everything perfect.

I've known Dorothy from Bells and whistles for a few years and never had a shred of doubt that she and her team would make our wedding beautiful!! Beautiful is an understatement!!!! Dorothy at Bells and Whistles did an amazing job for the flowers and décor at our wedding. I had some pictures in my head of the colors I wanted and what I wanted the centerpieces to look like. We discussed them during a phone consultation and I sent a few small Pinterest pictures – she created centerpieces and bouquets that exactly matched what I envisioned (but probably didn’t do the best job describing). The flowers were absolutely beautiful, and the tables looked amazing. I couldn’t have asked for anything better! Thanks Bells and Whistles!

DOROTHY! DOROTHY! DOROTHY! I cannot recommend her enough! She is creative, really understands what will work for your specific event and she is extremely reasonably priced. She was able to transform our entire "rustic, backyard barbecue" themed wedding into the most romantic indoor event (due to rain). I wanted to cry when I walked into our reception...it was so beautiful. When you find out that your party is going to be rained out you kind of resign yourself to the fact that you're most likely not going to be 100% pleased. I cannot disagree more. It felt like our indoor reception was planned that way from the beginning. And she made all the changes in ONE DAY! A reall pro. I cannot thank her enough!

Dorothy and her team brought my dream wedding to life! WOW, what an amazing and perfect day.
I met with Dorothy and told her what was in my head, which was a lot. She gave me some wonderful suggestions and made me feel totally at ease (i can be a bit of a control freak). The day of my wedding everything looked even better than I had imagined. The flowers were gorgeous and so was all the decor she provided. Lots of glorious shells, candles, coral roses, lanterns, just beautiful. From the great suggestion of mixing in farm tables to the use of her multi tiered wooden chandelier layered with candles, it was a day to remember. Working with them was effortless and such a joy! Highly recommend!!!!

Dorothy did an amazing job for our son's wedding. She decorated our beach house for the rehearsal...it was beautiful! She then transformed a huge tent at the Whalehead Club into an amazing and stunning site. Everyone was commenting on how beautiful it was. Her vision was so spot on to what our son and his new wife wanted. We all couldn't have asked for anything more.

It was a sincere pleasure to work with Dorothy Heath Morris. She took time to listen and work with us as well as making time to find out things that we liked, things that were important to us and worked with us to keep things in our budget. Dorothy genuinely cared about us and it showed throughout the entire process. Her vision and talent is amazing and she delivered everything we had envisioned an more. We had numerous guests who came up to me and all said "the decor is so you", "whoever did your decor really knew you" and even the caterers and band said "this decor is just stunning". I didn't want to wear a veil and Dorothy suggested a headpiece... she and her staff created the most stunning and unique head piece that included orchids, feathers and rhinestones attached with ribbon that matched my blush pink wedding dress exactly. She understood the "look" I was going for and not only created it but made it happen. I would highly recommend and her team.

Dorothy has a extensive variety and selection of vases, bottles, lanterns, votives, candelabra, lights, and the list goes on. Indeed if you have a wedding vision, Bells and Whistles can make it come to life. Dorothy and her team are also creative and flexible - if you have some pre-cooked ideas, they will both deliver on those ideas and make them better; if you are more of a free-form bride, they can dream something up for you that you never even imagined you wanted until they created it for you.
