I met Dorothy about a year ago and from the start she was very professional, communicative and is an amazing florist! My now husband and I met with her to discuss possibly using her as a florist for our wedding and from the time we met her, we knew that she was the perfect fit for us! She listened to my vision and made it become more than I could ever imagine! She is very helpful and detail oriented when it comes to her designing and amazing flowers! She is very fair when it comes to pricing and works with any type of budget. The night before my wedding, we decided to make a change to the location of the reception due to rain. Dorothy took your typical kitchen/living room/ dining room and transformed it to a boho greenery dream! So many of my guests said that it was the most amazing decor and florals that they have seen and even said it should have been in a magazine. She did all of my florals, ceremony decor, reception decor, coordinating, etc. Highly recommend Dorothy and you won’t be disappointed!! -

The day of the wedding when I walked into our tent it was perfect! I would definitely recommend using Dorothy and Bells & Whistles for your Outer Banks Wedding! -

Dorothy captured my vision so beautifully and was a pleasure to work with during the whole process. The rest of the decor she supplied for our ceremony and reception was just as gorgeous as the florals. Everything was even better than what I had pictured in my head! -

Dorothy and her team are fabulous. Our wedding was in Hatteras/Buxton area and of course, a tropical storm decided to pop up extremely quickly week of our wedding. She was so communicative during the process, and with fears of route 12 shutting down was quick to send her team down with flowers early, as well as communicate with our venue about set up changes and advocated for me to get set up going early. As for the actual florals themselves, absolutely stunning. I am not a good planner, and through my extremely vague descriptions of my style, and lack of solid wedding color plans, she was somehow able to perfectly grasp everything and put together a plan more beautiful than I ever could have. Without her florals, it would have looked like a completely different wedding. Highly highly recommend Bells and Whistles! -

Jenna Sent on 06/19/2018Dorothy was phenomenal!!!! I had talked to a few different florists that just didn’t really do it for me…. until I connected with Dorothy. I was a bride that didn’t really have a vision (there was no secret Pinterest Board for this girl) and she was so kind and patient with me. She talked me through every step of the process – provided recommendations based on my venue - provided visuals when I couldn’t quite grasp what her vision was - reworked my quote when I changed my mind for the 10th time – all with genuine passion and enthusiasm. I especially knew I had picked the “one” when we drove down to OBX from Boston in January for our pre-planning visits with our vendors. It had been snowing in OBX and the temperatures were unseasonably low - the roads were completely covered in inches of ice. For a Boston girl like myself, this was nothing, but I knew that in a place like OBX – the island probably shut-down in these conditions. Dorothy knew that this was our only opportunity to meet, as we would not be back down before the wedding and braved the elements to keep the existing appointment we had made. It sounds so silly, but this really meant so much to us, as we really wanted to connect personally with our vendors before our wedding in May. She was just as lovely, talented and creative in person as she was over the phone. Our florals came out better than I could have ever imagined. Dorothy (and team) listened to what I envisioned and executed it flawlessly (for someone who had no vision – I was very particular in what I wanted). The flowers were beautiful and so fresh. Our bouquets were GORGEOUS. I cannot tell you how many people complimented them. We had two very young flower girls and she made the most adorable flower crowns and wands for them to use – they loved it. The venue couldn’t have looked better – she completely transformed the space and gave it that romantic feel we so desperately wanted. We cannot say enough great things about the Bells & Whistles team.

The flowers for my daughters March wedding at Pirates Cove were amazing. From our very first meeting a year prior, Dorothy was quick to respond to our questions, patient with our lack of flower knowledge, and brilliant with her creations. She listened to what my daughter hoped for and her work was way beyond what we imagined. We received so many compliments on her tablescapes, the bouquets, and ceiling installation. -

We worked together throughout my engagement to identify colors, ideas and overall themes for the day-of. I received countless compliments on my wedding day and even after about how beautiful the wedding was, how fabulous the bouquets were and how serene the event was. It was all because of Dorothy's craftsmanship and I am thrilled that I had the opportunity to work with her. I would never have dreamed that my wedding would feel so magical and I cannot thank her and her very professional staff for making my wedding so flawless. Additionally, her prices are more than reasonable and her product is amazing. She works within every price point (mine changed during the course of my engagement) and gives various options to achieve your wedding dreams. I cannot say enough about Bells & Whistles!!
