My Husband and I were married on October 22nd 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay in Cambridge, MD. We found Melissa and her team online with outstanding reviews.
Y'all I cannot stress this enough at how PERFECT Melissa and her team made our Wedding day. All the emails, phone/zoom calls, and texts to help put our special day together. The times she had to talk this groom who struggles with mad anxiety through a few panic attacks. Melissa is an absolute QUEEN and we 150% stan.
All their hard work and detailed organization/coordination with the venue and other vendors went off without a single hitch. Especially the moment she showed us the reception space for the first time and it literally felt like that epic reveal moment from Extreme Home Makeover where everyone shouts "Bus Driver, Move That Bus!"... Absolutely spectacular!!
They did all that while putting together and working another wedding at the same venue the day before. My husband and I are simply in awe of how everything turned out.
Thank you all again so much for all of your hard work. You made our wedding day simply the best day ever. -

From our initial conversation, I knew that Melissa would be the one to make my dream wedding come true with under 4 months to plan. Since I was a little girl, I have always fantasized that my wedding would take place in the backyard of our historic family home in Rehoboth. Melissa listened to my vision and made my dreams a reality! During the planning stages, she made awesome local vendor recommendations that I wouldn't have been able to find myself and was my trusted advisor when making decisions regarding where to allocate our budget. With any question I had, she was prepared with a logical, thoughtful and proactive answer that was ALWAYS aligned with the vision I shared with her from the start. She really just "got it." By the end, I felt as though she knew the ins-and-outs of my wedding, our property, and what would really make the day special better than I could have ever imagined! That aside, I can honestly say that her presence and coordination on our wedding day was INVALUABLE. I literally cannot think of how we could've done it without her there. In the midst of what felt like completely chaos, she remained calm, patient, and professional. Her steadfast nature helped wrangle all of the vendors, florists, guests, family members ... and she even convinced the rain clouds to stay away for our incredible beachside ceremony! :) The memories that we made that day will truly last us a lifetime. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making it happen!

The best planner in DE/MD!
Our wedding could not have been what it was without Melissa! Since we live in New York and were getting married in Rehoboth, we knew we needed someone we could trust and who was knowledgeable of all the local vendors. Melissa instantly understood our personality, our style, and knew what was best for us every step of the way. Her attention to detail in planning and the day day of the wedding was recognized and praised by all of our guests. We absolutely loved working with her and recommend her to anyone planning their big day!!! -

My husband Seth and I were married on May 20th 2023 at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina. My mom and I knew we wanted to be very hands on with the planning so our goal for hiring a planner was to make sure we did not forget anything and to cover all of the day-of duties. This venue had a list of recommended vendors and Belle of the Ball was one of them along with some other planners but Belle of the Ball was one of the more affordable options and had good reviews so that is how we initially chose Melissa. We had already booked a few vendors before hiring Melissa but she recommended and booked a beautiful local florist and chair rentals. We sent her all the contracts and she was in contact with all the vendors and made sure that everything was prepared and accounted for leading up to the wedding. She met with us at the Hyatt for the tasting and was amazing with her knowledge of the venue. She was always able to answer any of my questions via email or text even if it might take her a day or two to get back to me (she also just had a baby during this time and was still able to be very present in helping plan). She supported us when our videographer was unresponsive and we had to hire a new one and when our cold sparklers cancelled on us, she wanted to help us find new ones. She made a detailed timeline by the hour that flowed perfectly. She also made a pretty vision board that included colors and inspiration photos. Melissa’s day-of assistants Gabby and Jeri were also just as amazing and helped me have a perfectly stress-free day by keeping all of us on track and making sure the ceremony and reception space were beautiful. They stayed until the very end of the night and made sure we had our private last dance. I will recommend Belle of the Ball time and time again!! Thank you so so much Melissa, Gabby and Jerri! It was the best day of my life and it would not have been so great without you! -

My mother found and hired Melissa to plan my wedding and it was by far one of the best decisions I ever made. I was trying to coordinate a wedding happening on the east coast from the west coast and she made the process seamless.
She was always responsive and helped keep me and others in my family calm when we felt inevitable wedding stress. She found me amazing vendors, who all did excellent work.
Working with her was worth every penny. My wedding was better than I imagined, and I owe it to her! -

We Had a Ball
We had a great working relationship with Melissa at Belle of the Ball. She was very helpful in finding vendors and had great ideas for our daughter's wedding. Her help with keeping us on track in the planning phase was invaluable. To be able to call her at anytime about anything was something we really liked.
We had a few events over the wedding weekend and her presence was so comforting, allowing us to just enjoy the Welcome Party and the Wedding Day festivities. -

There are truly not enough words in the dictionary to reiterate how thankful we are to have had Mel as our wedding planner, question answerer, nerve calmer, and all-around superwoman. Mel will treat you like family and truly go above and beyond to make your day the most special day of your life. Mel was there for us through texts, emails, phone calls, FaceTimes, zoom meetings, site meetings, you name it. With every question and concern, we raised because “we have never done this before” she responded with calm patience + excitement that was truly contagious. We knew we were in great hands through the entire planning process, even with all of the uncertainties of the past 18 months. When our wedding weekend came, Mel truly moved mountains to make our vision come to life. She wrangled our rowdy bridal party, she answered every vendor question through a torrential downpour before the ceremony, she moved furniture, she calmed nerves. There is no question in our mind, our day would not have been what it was without her in the lead. We owe you the world, Mel! -

When I started my wedding planning process, I honestly didn’t think think I would need help. Boy was I wrong! We had Melissa for 30 days prior to the wedding and day of coordination and she was absolutely amazing! She basically took over everything so we could be stress free the last 30 days, and that was much needed after planning a wedding through a pandemic.
We were able to actually enjoy our wedding day and not have to worry about a thing! She made sure everyone was in their place and had us running on time the whole night. It was the most perfect night and I can’t thank her enough for everything she did! She is a great addition to your wedding team and you won’t be disappointed! -

I really don’t know what I would have done without Melissa's help pulling everything together the month before our wedding and on our actual wedding day. She spent so much time and effort reaching out to all the vendors to make sure everyone was on the same page. She met with us on-site and developed a really great timeline for the day of the wedding. She was there first thing in the morning to make sure the tables were set to perfection and she stayed late into the evening to make sure everything was cleaned up properly. There were so many things we hadn't thought of beforehand, and Melissa dialed it all in with style and grace. She is a genuinely sweet and kind person with a very calming presence and yet knows how to bring her A game. The evening of the wedding, I was just blown away by how perfectly everything came together! Hiring Melissa with Belle of The Ball was one of the best decisions I could have made. -

Well Melissa is it!!! She truly was a pleasure to work with! We planned my wedding during a pandemic and not many brides can say they were stress free on their wedding day but I was !!! She jumped right in and made the timeline happen and coordinated with the vendors seamlessly. To my knowledge there were no hiccups and isn’t that what counts?! She was able to run around a huge venue, organizing the ball room, make sure we were on time, tell people what they needed to do in an efficient and professional manor and she truly knew what she was doing! -

There every step of the way!
Melissa was the planner for our wedding! I selected a combination of her packages for 15 hours of planning as well as our day of coordinator. We were not local and having her there was super helpful for errands, recommendations, and being places that we couldn't always get to.
Melissa was easily reachable, attentive to details, organized, and helpful. My husband and I have been in tons of weddings and knew exactly what we wanted for ourselves, but still needed a right hand chick to delegate and run the show! We showed up to a dream reception, and didn't even have to know about the things that didn't go the way we had hoped with other vendors, because Melissa was there to handle them and fix them.
We will forever be grateful to Melissa for taking on our requests without batting an eye. When I felt like a bridezilla, she calmed my frustration, when I had a worry, she made me feel at ease, when I had a crazy vision, she found the resources and ways to make it come to life. She is absolutely, positively, amazing!

Melissa planned our wedding and we opted for the full package, meaning we started working with her over a year out.
Before I go any further, let me say this :: I am
incredibly hard to please, very controlling and type A when it comes to details. With that said, throughout the year+ Melissa and I worked together, I had my moments/ freak outs that were not my best. Yet through it all, beyond anything else, I always felt like Melissa was in my corner and truly keeping my best interest in mind. She was very honest when I asked for advice and recommendations (where to splurge, what to cut when I was worried about my budget) and has a strong personality that is necessary for a planner to keep things moving forward and on track, from a year out through wedding day.
When it comes to familiarity with the Eastern shore wedding industry, Melissa is very well-respected, knows and has worked with just about everyone, and has a ton of insider knowledge. That was immensely helpful when selecting local vendors and working with the vendors - I swear she has many of them
on speed dial!
While there were a few things here and there that were forgotten and/or could have been improved, looking back I am so happy we chose Melissa for our wedding day. She feels like a friend yet keeps things incredibly professional, and we truly wouldn’t have been able to pull off our amazing wedding without her! I highly recommend her to any bride - you will not regret hiring Melissa! -

My experience with Belle of the Ball Planning, specifically with Melissa as our day-of coordinator, was mixed and ultimately not the right fit for a couple like me.
On the positive side, the wedding day itself ran smoothly, and nothing major went wrong. Timelines were maintained, vendors were coordinated, and the event stayed on track. That level of execution matters and is worth acknowledging.
That said, I was disappointed by a lack of attention to documented details. I created a very detailed wedding planning binder over the course of a year and shared it in advance. On the day of the wedding, it was clear that this planner was not fully referenced, as about half of the decorations I had carefully prepared were never put out.
I was also explicit ahead of time that all questions on the wedding day should go through my maid of honor, not me. Despite this, Melissa repeatedly came directly to me with questions throughout the day. On your wedding day, you are not thinking clearly, and in hindsight the answers I gave were not actually what I wanted. My maid of honor had memorized my planner and would have been the appropriate person to consult.
I understand that some oversights are common in weddings, and this may reflect broader industry norms. Still, when you pay a significant amount for day-of coordination, attention to detail and respect for communication boundaries should be standard, especially when expectations are clearly documented.
Overall, while this service was not the right fit for a highly detail-oriented, Type A couple, I would recommend Belle of the Ball Planning for more Type B couples. Melissa is kind, professional, and capable of keeping a wedding day running smoothly for couples who prefer a more flexible, hands-off approach.
