Dream wedding
I had the wedding of my dreams at the Belk chapel! The staff were absolutely amazing! So helpful and sweet. I had a super big court with lots of kids and they were so sweet about it. I had about 375 guests and they were able to accommodate them all. -

We used the Belk Chapel for our ceremony rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and ceremony. We (and our guests!) loved convenient location to our reception venue in NoDa, ample (FREE) parking, delicious food for the dinner, the beautiful natural light in both the Chapel and Rotunda, the kind-accommodating-proactive-thorough-thoughtful team and well, basically everything. I cannot recommend higher than five stars, but I do! -

A wonderful place for a wedding reception!
We had our reception at Queen's Hall and Terrace in April, 2023. This parlors and terrace open to the main campus quad, making for a beautiful backdrop. The venue rental fee was a fraction of other venues in the area, so that was also a bonus. As required by the university, we used the Queen's campus catering for our reception food. The food and venue by far exceeded our expectations! Jarrard Slater and the Catering staff went above and beyond for our big day. The food was excellent and our guests still talk about it months later. Instead of a seated dinner, we opted for cocktail style stations and a mix of high top tables and seated tables throughout the venue. This allowed us to host 150 guests with plenty of room for our guests to mix and mingle. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding reception! Carol Ann and the Queen's team were great to work with and I'd highly recommend to other couples. -

Belk Chapel was super responsive and easy to work with! We held our ceremony at the chapel and it was the perfect location to fit our 250 guest count & in proximity to our reception in the city. The clean white interior made for great photos & there were plenty of locations around the venue/university for photos. Highly recommend! -

The chapel was the perfect place for our ceremony, and we loved the reception area. Carol Ann, the wedding coordinator, was very nice to work with and helped accommodate our requests! The food and catering was also wonderful! -

Booking Belk Chapel was one of the easiest decisions in my wedding planning process. The staff are so easy to work with and are so accommodating. The Chapel is absolutely stunning and the perfect setting for any wedding ceremony. Can’t recommend this venue enough! -

Absolutely STUNNING for wedding ceremony – super light and beautiful inside with two levels, which allows the photographer to get some beautiful shots above the ceremony as well. Lots of great outdoor spots for pictures! It rained on our wedding day but thankfully the beautiful back of the chapel has a covered area with columns and the photos turned out perfectly. Carol Ann is the absolute BEST to work with!! She was so responsive and helpful every step of the way. You simply cannot go wrong with the Belk Chapel!!! Thank you so very much for the best day. -

The Belk Chapel is beautiful! Maureen(Event Operations Coordinator) is wonderful and very responsive to emails. Our wedding was very small but elegant. Everything was well organized and we literally have no complaints! -

We used the Belk Chapel at Queens University for our ceremony venue. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the space was, and we were so pleased with the experience. We chose to rent spaces on campus to get ready and this was a great choice for us. The pictures from our ceremony and the portraits of our wedding party around campus are absolutely gorgeous. We worked with Kat and Erin throughout the planning process and they were always quick to respond to us and helpful along the way. The day of the wedding Kat was helpful to deal with some issues that arose and squash them so that our day could proceed and be wonderful. -

This place will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to being able to visit it in the future! On top of being a beautiful chapel, Belk Chapel on Queens University also offers lovely grounds for pictures! Everything is so green and well maintained, our pictures are beautiful! The folks at Belk Chapel were amazing to work with as well- very helpful and flexible! -
Liz Sent on 07/23/2018Erin Walters, the coordinator at Belk, was incredibly accommodating and so easy to work with! She met with us in person several times and was readily available for phone calls, answering questions over email or meeting us to let the organist in for practice during the planning process. She was an outstanding communicator and went above and beyond her role to help us through our wedding weekend. She gave our day-of coordinator great tips and made sure the whole process went smoothly, from the rehearsal to the getting-ready process and pre-wedding photos to the ceremony itself. She's very experienced and has a calming presence that is good for any bride! Belk itself is beautiful (we LOVED the big windows and so did our photographers - so much natural light!) and it fits a larger guest count (200+) very comfortably. We used the campus to get ready and take pictures in the courtyards (so many picturesque options - from white columns and brick to a gazebo, to the fountains to the large, towering trees and cherry blossoms in bloom in early April!) before the ceremony and could NOT have been happier with how they came out. The only tiny issue is the organ is in need of repair and a few notes “stick” (according to our organist…honestly, I didn’t notice it much so I don’t think it’s a big deal unless you are a professional musician!), so if that’s important to you, check on the repair status of that. Even so, I HIGHLY recommend Belk! Parking is incredibly easy for guests (free and across the street), the location is ideal (right in the heart of gorgeous Myers Park) and the recent renovations result in a beautiful old chapel with pretty, wooden pews, a center aisle and a clean, fresh face lift to the interior with additional rotunda space. Everything went off without a hitch and we could not have been more thrilled with our venue! It was absolutely perfect.

I was having a really hard time finding a venue to hold our ceremony. We decided not to do the ceremony at my husband's family's church in South Charlotte, since the reception was going to be uptown, so I was looking for something that was in the general uptown vicinity that would allow us to hold the ceremony without being a church member, and also without paying for a full Saturday night event rental. As soon as I saw the Belk chapel, I was immediately sold! It's a beautiful chapel with a ton of natural light and a clean, crisp feel to the interior. We had just about 150 guests, and it felt full and intimate without being crowded, and specifically not cold and daunting, like it can feel with some larger chapels that seat 500+. We also were able to rent s small library room in the building across from the chapel for the girls to get ready in, which was a huge plus to not have to change locations. The campus is absolutely beautiful, with well-kept lawns and bright red brick buildings, so the pictures were effortlessly stunning. They were so easy to work with and I am so happy I found the Belk Chapel!! -

The chapel was absolutely gorgeous and everything I’d hoped it would be. It was so simple, but elegant. Erin was very nice and really attempted to create what I was envisioning for my ceremony. The only problems were literally small things like not starting the ceremony music on time and rearranging the processional order.
The only thing that I saw was a true hiccup was that the earliest my vendors could come was 2 hours before the ceremony. One of my vendors was also a guest, so that left her with a very small timeframe to get back for the ceremony. Other than that, I was very happy with the location! Definitely recommend it! -

The catering was amazing and between their staff and the coordinator Erin we didn’t have to worry about anything. This is definitely a hidden gem.

So very pleased!!!
Beautiful facility! We were delighted to have celebrated our daughter's wedding ceremony at Belk Chapel. It was July and ever so hot, but wow did their air conditioning work well! So grateful!! They were accommodating and provided all that we requested. We would recommend them to anyone looking to have an indoor wedding ceremony that holds 400+ guests. Well done Queens University! -

Belk Chapel was a beautiful venue for our wedding ceremony. We wanted a lovely, picturesque space to honor God, and it was a perfect fit. The chapel is bright, spacious, and has so much natural character that we didn't need to add any additional décor. They also recently renovated the seating while keeping the traditional pew feel, making the space incredibly comfortable for our guests.
A few important things to note for future couples:
• Communication: The venue contact was not always the most responsive, so you may need to stay on top of emails.
• Audio Logistics: The week of our wedding, we were informed they couldn't provide anyone to run the ceremony audio due to another campus event. Fortunately, my brother-in-law is an audio engineer and could step in, but it could easily cause a last-minute fire drill for others. I highly recommend clarifying this before signing.
Overall, I would recommend Belk Chapel if you are looking for a bright, elegant, and picturesque location—just be prepared to do a little extra proactive coordinating!
