Best Officiant we could have asked for

If you are a couple looking for a wedding officiant look no further than Behind the Vow. From the beginning Reverend Annette was warm and kind. She took the time to speak to us and get a feel for our relationship. She really was a great source of support and wisdom during our wedding planning process. We really enjoyed our experience with Behind the Vow and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

Look No Further

We cannot say enough about Earl and Annette! My fiance and I searched for a premarital counselor, and came across Behind the Vow Marriage Counselors and decided to go with them based on the great reviews. Well, the reviews were not far-fetched or exaggerated in any way. After our first session, we understood why the reviews were so glowing.
Each session provided us with so much practical information that we were able to apply immediately. We loved the fact that rather than having an individual therapist, we received the benefit of having a couple impart their knowledge and wisdom in us. It was so beneficial to have both a male and female (unbiased) perspective who could speak to us both.
Aside from their wisdom, Earl and Annette are the most amiable, warm, kind, and loving people. Our sessions were lively and enjoyable yet honest and direct. They came to each session well prepared, and the questions and comments were meaningful and substantive.
My fiance and I were literally so sad when we realized it was our last session (and my fiance is not very talkative, and even he didn't want our sessions to end). Participating in premarital counseling with Earl and Annette was one of the best decisions we made. You will not be disappointed by having this godly and wise couple counsel you.

Amazing wedding officiant

We hired Reverend Annette to officiate our wedding and it was the best decision ever! She made our ceremony personal to us as a couple and so many of our guests enjoyed/complimented her service! We also worked through six premarital counseling sessions with Annette and her husband Earl. These sessions were so valuable to us in preparing for our marriage. They were very flexible with our schedule and were able to conduct these sessions via Skype as we live in NYC and they are located in GA. Thank you Annette and Earl!! Reverend Annette is an awesome woman I will try and give you the short version of what a Godsend she is.
Our wedding was at a Beautiful outside Venue off a lake in Loganville.

August the 18th 2018 is the day we got married rain was in the forecast so a day before the ceremony Susan, the Reverend & I prayed that the Lord would give us enough time to get married before it would rain. Low and behold the rain stop and out came the sun.

I was running late to my own wedding and I missed the window that the Lord had given us… Yes it started back raining so we had to move the wedding to a new indoors location in Conyers.
I was so heartbroken I didn't know what to expect next.

Reverend Annette & her husband was at the new location in Conyers waiting to perform the ceremony HALLEUJAH...
Reverend (wonder woman) Annette was there to save the day… One thing that Rev. Annette talked to us about making sure Susan didn’t miss the moment to walking down the aisle to meet her new husband.
It took about 30 minutes to get the house setup for the wedding to take place and it DID.

I HAVE never been a part of a ceremony where the words spoken were so heartfelt, moving and full of love. Rev. Annette lived up to everything she said she would do and more.
Her words brought tears to even some men eyes.

Rev. Kathy is wonderful. She is very funny, warm and inviting. From the time we first spoke, until we met, she made us feel comfortable with everything and our ceremony was beautiful. We chose Behind the Vow because of the fantastic reviews and the personal touches everyone raved about. She did not disappoint. Rev. Annette was great! I love Annette, she is amazing. She gave my husband and I a ceremony to dream of, she definitely knows what she is doing. She is extremely nice and respectful. It was our pleasure to meet and work with Pastor Tyson. Meeting Pastor Tyson was like meeting an old friend. She genuinely cared about us as a couple and was very open and honest. It was such a pleasure to work with Mrs. Tyson. With my now husband traveling for work a lot, it was hard for us to schedule a time to meet in person. She accommodated us by having an Skype meeting to discuss our wishes for our wedding, which we sincerely appreciated. Mrs. Tyson was easy to communicate with, prompt and professional. She did a phenomenal job with our vows and included some amazing personal touches. Her words were heartfelt and inspirational and we will keep them close to our hearts forever. I can not stress enough how amazing Rev. Annette is! She was extremely flexible - meeting with us via video chat since we lived out of state. Her ceremony was personalized and audience engaging. All of our guests loved her and were talking about her after the wedding on how much they loved ceremony. You would have thought she'd known us for years. I would hire her a million times over. She was also very prompt in getting our marriage license filed timely. She is the best and I would recommend her to anyone!

I dont normally write reviews but I feel Behind the Vow deserved one. I know a lot of Officiants say they are "the one" but these ladies truly are, I cant tell you how passionate they are about what they do! You can really feel in the words they use during your ceremony that they live and minister by this, Its amazing. Do you wan "the look" or the memory because these ladies bring the heartfelt memory!!

I hope I got this in on time in hoping Behind the Vow received Couples Choice because they are my choice. They are great and although its been a while since my wedding and I met them on another vendor service; I remember them like it was yesterday. Pastor Annette and Kathy are awesome. They worked together to ensure my 300 guest wedding was a success. I kept remembering as I walked down the isle and saw everything as I asked, "God I hope you bless them"! Great to work with! Ease and responds very quickly! They are invested in their couples and it shows. Took advantage of the premarital counseling and so glad I did. Classy, encouraging, professional, and desires your day to be the day you dream. Pastor Annette came to see me as soon as she arrived and made sure everyone and everything was in place. Wonderful ladies with wonderful hearts. They treated us as if their children were getting married but with the professionalism one would require. Pastor Kathy spoke with such authority although I saw a tear from her eye as the processional came down the aisle. She made sure we were in the right places and that everyone was less nervous standing there. She even made sure the music was on queue. They are great officiants and work well together. You cant go wrong with Behind the Vow. The ceremony they perform makes you want to stand Behind your Vow!

Behind the Vow are a God-send. I initially chose them because their price was one the lowest subsequently; I found two officiants whose prices were lower. I pointed that out Pastor Annette and she stated that I should go with the lower person because she doesnt officiate for the money but for the ministry. I knew she was the one to stay with because of that very statement.
How can you not choose someone that passionate to marry couples? I was correct in staying with her. That passion showed in the way she interacted with us and officiated our ceremony. We felt the love she had for marrying us and hence, we felt the love we had for each other because there were no more fears and anxiety you feel when standing before those witnessing your marriage.
I dont know if people have to have a certain "type" to marry them; Ive learned its best to choose someone that has a "passion and love for" the "job" he/she signed up for :-). That is Pastor Annette and anyone attached to Behind the Vow.

Rev. Kathy...what can I say. Behind the Vow is sensational. They are so flexible to accommodate your needs with the latest of changes to your plans. They didn't fuss and Rev Kathy smiled and helped me through it! I was so worried about how things were going. With all the changes that occurred however; Revs. Annette and Kathy communicated to make sure Rev. Kathy had all the information she needed to make my ceremony what I wanted: and IT WAS!!!

What can I say...hands down, AWESOME. I called Rev. Annette last minute because our officiant bailed at the last minute. Rev. Annette swooped in and did better than I could have wished. She called us individually, learned things about us, and incorporated our feelings for each into the ceremony. OMG! The guest was ranting about it. I heard one of my guest yell to Rev Annette, "I LIKED YOUR VOWS...NO! I LOVED YOUR VOWS!". What can I say to that. It spoke a thousand words...

I reached out to them from the day of my wedding; Behind the Vow are awesome. They are very professional and personable. I never had to worry about if they were on top of things or understood our vision. Not only were they professional but the way in which Rev Annette spoke commanded attention yet created a loving and intimate atmosphere for our wedding. I know people are hesitant to use women and if you are; your missing a dynamic officiant. They just don’t come any better than Behind the Vow. Oh, you have to check out their Facebook broadcasts. It sums up how important marriage and officiating is to them!

Extremely personable. Makes your day, your day. I couldn't have received better service, smiles, and hugs. It's like having your family member, who knows what they're doing, conduct your ceremony. The words spoken during the sand ceremony were phenomenal. You can tell they're not in it for the money but because they love doing it. I was blown away at how much they got us. From the initial meeting to our saying goodbye, they never stopped being the beautiful spirit they were. Loved their professionalism amongst everything else. My grandma LOVED Rev. Annette/Rev Kathy!

Rev Annette is great and really appreciate all that she has done for me and my wife. She was very kind and directed us in everything we were to do. As nervous as I was, she made me and my best man comfortable as we waited for my bride. She directed us on everything we had to do during the ceremony and things went flawlessly. Her words expressed our life together and made us smile and our guests take notice. There may be other Officiants like her but they are NOT her! Thank you Rev Annette!

What I loved most is the social media resources they offer that provide information for marriage before and after. Their blog on the website is great and the Facebook broadcasts with Rev Annette and her husband Rev Earl are so real, funny, and thought provoking. My husband and I go out often to see the newest stuff. I heard they have Instagram! It will be great to now see those tips and insights as they appear in my thread. Pastor Annette and Pastor Kathy are a dream! They work so well together as a well-oiled machine that you cannot tell whether there are two different people working with you. Reverend Annette ensures that all of the business aspect are taking care of and where necessary; Pastor Kathy fills into the most needed of places. It's like you do you not even realize or miss the fact that you are dealing with two officiants as they all work so well together with the same standard in mind. Pastor Kathy made us feel as though she had been a part of our lives for a very long time. There was never a time where we felt we where new to Behind the Vow or any of what they stood for. The word space spoke during our ceremony were heartfelt and believable tasks existed. Our guests stated that there was never a time during our ceremony where it felt difficult, strange, or a part of someone else's ceremony. I cannot tell you how important they made our ceremony feel from an already stressful day.) Reverend Annette worked with us to ensure the business portion was handled professionally and without question leaving Reverend Kathy to worry of nothing but ensuring that we all were on time, together, and operating as I desired. Behind the Vow love what they do and it is evident in what they do on not just your wedding day, but how they interact with you throughout the time when they hug and say goodbye. It is like stopping the relationship of uncle/mother. I can't tell you how important they will become to you! I don't know if other officiants make you feel this way but I can say Behind the Vow does! Thank you to all of you! I'll never forget the role you played in making my day a special one! I pray others have the opportunity to experience all that we did!

Earl and Annette are excellent professional counsellors. They are a great team and made us feel comfortable right from the beginning. I was initially worried about two things-- how to complete meaningful premarital counseling while being 3 time zones away from my fiancé and how we would find counsellors and and officiant that would understand our unique cultural perspectives. Both of our worries were put to rest at our first session. The Tysons worked around our long-distance relationship and met us online as well as person. They helped us articulate and understand our cultural differences within our relationship. Then there was Annette as our Officiant. I cannot tell you how much our guests raved about her and her ability to say words that made them think and our ceremony special. She was able to take the relationship we had formed with her and Earl through counseling, and bring that atmosphere into our ceremony. It made our wedding memorable and one to be talked about for years to come. We both stated we want her to Officiate for us again in the future! You couldn't get anyone better! You can't go wrong with Behind the Vow. Premarital counseling is conducted with Pastor Annette and Pastor Earl. The two are dynamic. They are able to pull things out that you would hide and that are detrimental to your marriage, helping you to understand and then provides tools to navigate those issues within a marriage.
To boot, Pastor Annette OFFICIATED our ceremony. It was awesome. Pastor Annette heard everything we asked. She crafted our ceremony to who we are and made it feel as though our story was coming to life all over again. Pastor Annette also served as coordinator(because I didn't have one) and MaMa Bear as she wrangled people into positions and responsibilities so I would not have to worry. I HIGHLY recommend them!!

My husband and I are were really pleased with the services provided by Pastor Annette. Upon meeting her and her husband Earl, we knew we had found the right officiant to officiate our unique wedding. They were noth interested in the well being of our marriage and offered great advice on how to have a successful marriage. We thoroughly enjoyed our wedding ceremony. She listened to us and our vision for the ceremony and delivered an exceptional ceremony. My guests loved how personable she made our ceremony to reflect our relationship. Needed Wedding Officiant
My husband Clifton and I were married 12/31/2016 by Pastor Annette Tyson and her services were phenomenal. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect ceremony. As we were unsure how this entire process worked, Pastor Tyson made it very easy for us. She is very thorough and communicates everything well. She also crosses all her T's by making sure everyone is on the same accord and agrees to the carefully planned out ceremony service. All of my guest were asking about her and gave her very high praise for her work. She is easy to talk to and is willingly ready to assist and answer any questions or concerns. I would highly recommend her services and I will be advising all of my friends and family members to do the same. Thank you so much whole heartedly for everything. You won't find a better group! - We used Earl and Annette for premarital counseling, and Annette for our wedding officiant. They are open, real, and honest and have an outlined course laid out with different topics in each session. They gave hypothetical scenarios and we discussed them. They are great examples of a loving relationship, allowing us to see why their professional and personal opinion has worked for them. My guests couldn't stop raving about Annette as our officiant. They said she was funny, unique, and real. She has a great speaking voice too!! We love them and couldn't imagine trusting anyone else to help prepare us for this new adventure.

Wedding Officiant / Premarital Counseling

My then fiance and I are not set in a church home and were concerned about who would officiate our wedding. After posting our "project" on Thumbtack, Earl and Annette of Behind the Vow was one of the respondents. After reviewing the respondents reviews and other details, we decided on Behind the Vow and are absolutely happy we did. A key reason was that they counselled as a couple, which provided a balance and fair way, in our opinion.

Many of the reviews about this husband and wife team mentioned how easy they were to talk to and that they felt like "friends". Ok, not one for being on the bandwagon, we agree and can say that the reviews were accurate.

My fiance was a bit reluctant to counseling, but after our first visit, was more eager (interested) in having additional sessions. Today, we are married and already seeing how effective Earl and Annette's counseling was for us. Yes, positive changes were and continue to happen in real-time.

Annette later officiated our wedding and many of our guests have inquired about her and commented on how beautiful and touching she was and how the words she spoke were so heartfelt. We are absolutely happy and proud to have had this couple be a part of one of the most important events in our married lives.

We were looking for a wedding officiant in March and Miss Annette was wonderful for my wedding! From the very first time I met her I felt extremely comfortable and it was as if I'd known her for years. Wedding Officiant
We were married by Annette in May 2017. The entire experience was memorable thanks to her personable, professional, thorough, faith based counseling and support. She walked us every step through the process of preparing for our union. She was flexible and accommodating of our busy work/travel schedules and met with us using FaceTime. She customized our ceremony to our preferences and needs. The dynamics of her speech, prayers, and pronouncements were unforgettable. Annette made our wedding day memorable and special. I love how both individuals invest time in getting to know your concerns and issues. They do not take sides, but offer advice based on their own experiences. My husband and I enjoyed using their services for premarital counseling. It helped us work through some ideas we had not yet discussed or agreed upon. Even after Annette performed our wedding, we still seek their counseling because we want to continue to give each other our best selves. We both feel very blessed to have found their services and we would recommend them to any couple interested in strengthening their marriage and growing stronger together.

Annette was awesome. We last minute reached out to her and she was luckily available! She even made time to make it to rehearsals. From only one personal phone call with my (now) husband and I, she was able to make our ceremony very personal, as if we've known each other longer than we did! All my guests loved her. She set the tone of the ceremony. She brought the humor, passion, and love and her presence and delivery made me less nervous about standing up there! I would definitely recommend her to anyone! Premarital counseling and officiant services

We used Pastor Annette and her husband, Pastor Earl for premarital counseling and as our officiant for our wedding in October.

As far as Premarital counseling, we enjoyed our experience. We learned about and were very grateful for the opportunity. However, the communication wasn’t that great and they would often be late to our sessions.

We also hired Pastor Annette to officiant our wedding. Due to a very unfortunate and understandable reason, she wasn’t able to make our wedding rehearsal. It showed during the actual ceremony. She pronounced my name wrong, even after months of premarital counseling, the flow was off when she pronounced us husband and wife. It just all felt unorganized.

Pastor Annette did give us amazing gems during counseling and I did like her dialogue during the ceremony. Unfortunately, she had a lot of personal issues going on so we were understanding but overall, I didn’t enjoy my experience with our service.
