  Amazing Artist!

  May was such a joy to work with, she's the best! Not only was she on time, she was early to a 4:45AM start!! I was amazed! During these time and coming from a different state I was a little worried about what safety measures makeup artists were doing, but May was wearing gloves, face mask and a shield. I was very impressed and felt really safe. I didn't really have a style that I wanted. I sent her a picture of my dress and I asked that it matches with the dress and something natural. She did an amazing job and the pricing is very competitive. Honestly throughout the entire process, she literally will make you feel like she's a friend helping you with your makeup on your wedding day. Very friendly and kind. I actually missed her when I left Hawaii!

  If I could give May extra stars, I would. From the start, May was very responsive to my emails and questions. She made me feel very comfortable as I was planning my Hawai’i wedding on the mainland. She was also super accommodating when I scheduled some calls with her and made me feel supported throughout the whole experience. From planning to being on site, she kept in great communication with me, confirmed her availability, arrived on site early, checked in throughout the process, and helped out wherever she could. She is super talented and passionate about her job. May listened to my ideas and concerns for my hair and make up, then delivered on my vision. I really appreciated having her touch up my make up and hair throughout the hot day, too. May is very friendly, easy to converse with, and quickly made me feel like she was a close friend helping me on my special day. I am so thankful to have found and picked her as my HMUA. Would not have wanted it any other way. I can not thank you enough, May!

  Patient and Kind

  You’ve read many other reviews of what a great job May did for everyone. I want to speak to how patient and kind May was. And flexible. First it was only make up and hair for my mother and me as the bride. Then we added my sister in law. And then my girlfriend came to help me get dressed and wanted to get her hair done. Throughout all the add ona and changes requested, May was so patient and took it all in stride.
  And of course she did a beautiful job. Everyone thought so too, not just me.
  She’s the best. Book her. Don’t wait.

  Absolutely AMAZING!!

  It was a privilege having May work as my makeup artist for my wedding. I usually do not wear makeup and was never truly satisfied with the makeup I had done on me for my sisters weddings until now. May will assist if you are unsure of what you like which I appreciated a lot as it turned out so well in my photoshoot. Tanned Asian or not, May knows what she is doing. I have had no issues contacting her through email. It was also a blast laughing and goofing off with her along with my bridesmaids. Highly recommend!

  Beautiful and Perfect Service

  I asked her last minute to do my bridal hair and makeup and she responded so quickly! I was so happy she was available and I really feel it was meant to be, she did my hair and makeup perfectly! Better than I expected! I felt so beautiful on my wedding day because of her. Not only is she highly skilled but she’s also very kind and friendly, she made my overall experience comfortable. I highly recommend her! Thank you again May for being part of my special day :)

  An Amazing Makeup Artist That We Were Lucky To Have

  Finding a makeup artist for our wedding was one of the things we were the most worried about. In the past, my wife and I have experienced makeup artists that were not familiar with doing makeup well on Asian faces. We didn't want that, especially for our wedding.
  
  Our prayers were answered when we found May. This review is a bit long because it isn't fair to only describe her as amazing, because she is so much more!
  
  First off, May is so incredibly talented as a makeup artist. She has artistic vision and works to emphasize your features versus a "copy & paste" makeup style. Secondly, she is also very organized and professional from communicating before the wedding, to the makeup trial, to the day of the wedding making it easy to discuss and confirm with her.
  
  To start off, we are 2 brides, so that is double the makeup! My wife and I typically don't wear a lot of makeup so it was difficult for us to voice what we wanted and know what would look good on us. We decided to include a makeup trial which I HIGHLY recommend all brides do.
  
  My wife showed May some photos of the makeup look and up-do hairstyles she liked. May was so talented and gave my wife exactly the look she asked for. However, this is why the makeup trial is important because, my wife ended up realizing that she actually want a more natural look because it would make her feel more comfortable and that she actually would prefer her hair down. May was so understanding and had suggestions on how she can create that as she knew exactly what my wife wanted! With May's expertise, my wife felt so comfortable and beautiful with her hair and makeup on our wedding day.
  
  As for me, I shared a few images with May and described to her the feel I wanted to evoke with my hair and makeup. I mainly spoke about the facial features that I wished to emphasize and those I wished to minimize and trusted May to create the final vision. She did just that! May gave me the fresh faced look and styled my hair to matched the vision I had but didn't know how to voice entirely.
  
  May also went the extra mile for us to make our wedding perfect. On the day of our wedding, I suddenly asked if she could support us on-site at the wedding ceremony and for photos afterwards. This was because we did a small photo shoot on the day of our makeup trial, at the wedding location, the wind was insane and our hair was in our faces for all the photos. The weather also looked to be about the same on our wedding day, so for our wedding, we didn't want the same thing to happen, and I presented May with this last minute request.
  
  When I tell you she is kind and caring, I can't emphasize that enough. She told me that she had something already scheduled but she understood why and that she will try. She shifted her personal schedule around asking for her friend to help to take care of her personal errands, to be able to accompanying us to the wedding ceremony and photoshoot afterwards. I almost felt undeserving because this was essentially a stranger we met that week, but she has such a big and kind heart and was so caring that she was willing to go above and beyond to make us look and feel good on our wedding day. During the ceremony she was always watching to make sure both my wife and I looked our best.
  
  I really can't express or thank her enough for her talent, time, and kindness. She IS the best makeup artist in Hawaii!

  May communicated very well with me to make sure that she gave me the “dream look” that I wanted for my wedding. She has such a good eye for makeup and hair, and what will look good. I told her to use her best professional judgement with the makeup so that it would make my features “pop” and cover all my “flaws,” all while matching my skin tone and not being too bold. She somehow made me look even better than I could have ever imagined, and she is also the sweetest person, she is very pleasant to work with, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to do their hair and makeup!

  This review is way overdue! May is absolutely fantastic. I would book with her again without question. She is very talented and professional. She was so quick to respond to my message and was very easy to schedule with. Not only did she style my hair just as I had imagined and more (with only a few picture examples) and did my makeup better than I had Ever expected, she was so fast and pleasant to talk to during the entire experience. Hair and makeup withstood the windy outdoor elements like a charm. I am so grateful for May and the amazing job she did! Thank you ❤️

  May was an absolute joy to work with! Not only was she extremely professional but she’s very personable and becomes a best friend at the same time.   First of all, May is extremely skilled. It is difficult to find someone who is good at both hair and makeup and May is that person for you. My entire family was so impressed by May’s magical touch. For instance, my mom was only going to do makeup but after seeing how good May is, she decided to add hair also.
  
  Second, May is very receptive to feedback. Every person will have particulars they have for their makeup or hair. After the trial, on the wedding day, I had asked for more natural eyes. Although heavier makeup on the eyes would be captured better in photos, I had preferred more natural eyes. May was extremely receptive to this feedback and found the perfect medium between eyes that would be captured in photos well and a more natural look.
  
  Finally, May is extremely flexible and caring. I had some family events occur on the day of the wedding and May was very caring throughout. She was suggesting hospital names to search, was generous with pauses in between makeup and hair as I had to attend to family matters. Also, I asked May last minute if she can travel to the wedding with and she was nice enough to agree last minute. I have to say it was the best decision to have May attend the wedding seeing how the photos turned out.

  May is amazing! It was the first time I’ve had such a great experience with hair and makeup. My whole party looked great—beautiful and natural. Even my mom was pleased and she is a tough lady to satisfy!

  May is fantastic. She showed up early for my beach wedding, we reviewed the pics I sent her for hair, make up, dress style and bouquet color.
  She was so professional and sweet! She made few great suggestions like eyelashes and braiding my half up. It turned out fantastically !
  She took photos afterward, that she sent me and helped me to get to the car heading to the ceremony.
  Her communication is stellar!!!

  We loved having May with us the morning of my wedding. Not only did she did a beautiful job with our hair and makeup, she brought a calming meditative presence to our space as we readied ourselves for the day. She was calm, masterful, and we feel so lucky that we had her with us. I can’t imagine having anyone else on such a significant occasion. Thank you endlessly from the bottom of our hearts!

  I am so happy I had May doing my hair and makeup. She did the hairstyle exactly as the picture I showed her. The makeup was really natural and she even gave some re-touch kit for the lips. I felt really beautiful thanks to her. She is an amazing artist! Also she treats her customers really attentively and well. I cried while she was working on my eyes since they are really sensitive. She was really patient and corrected the mess I made. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone who wants to look beautiful!

Arrived early to the appointment and honored all of my requests for natural looking makeup- requested special attention to eyelashes and brows as mine were lost to recent chemo. May honored my request and created a natural look for my special day. She’s very talented and I highly recommend her for makeup to relieve stress and allow you to enjoy your day.
