Best makeup ever
Zihara did an absolutely AMAZING job with my wedding makeup!! I actually cancelled on an artist I already had booked once I saw how amazing Zihara does makeup and I was so thrilled that I did! I didn’t even need to touch up my makeup once all night long! She’s not only an amazing makeup artist but such a wonderful person and ray of sunshine to be around. I felt like I didn’t have a stranger in my house in my wedding day…more like she was apart of my group for the morning of. I would recommend her services to anyone looking for that flawless look! -

Highly recommend Evelyn, she is an amazingly talented hair stylist! Every bridesmaid hair turned out exactly how they wanted it which was absolutely gorgeous. Due to last minute changes, she stepped in and did my wedding hair. It turned out better than I could of imagined (and I’m very picky when it comes to hair). She was worth every penny! -

An amazing job!
Working with Zahira was truly a pleasure. She is extremely talented in her craft, and did an amazing job on my bridesmaid make-up. She catered to my preferences, but I gave her full creative reign and was blown away by her work. My make-up remained flawless even after a long night of dancing. Zahira is also very professional and hard-working. I HIGHLY recommend her services to anyone looking for make-up for any occasion! -

Zahira and Evelyn were amazing to work with!!!! I can truly not say enough good things about these ladies! Both of these ladies went so far above and beyond what you would expect from your hair and makeup team! Prior to getting married, I was undergoing cancer treatment at Rush hospital. These ladies routinely checked in to see how I was feeling and always had kind words. This isn't something they had to do, but I think it speaks leaps and bounds to their character and how they care so much more than the services they provide. Besides being amazing women, they also did a phenomenal job on my hair and makeup, as well as my whole bridal party! They were able to recommend a hair style and make up that compliment my dress and my fairytale image for my wedding day. As it was a super emotional day, given everything my now husband and I had been through, my makeup looked flawless all night! No matter how many tears were shed. If you are on the fence about who to pick for your hair and makeup, look no further, this is your team! They truly helped create the perfect look for my wedding day. -

Evelyn and Zahira are a great team, very affordable, and conveniently located by my work in Elmhurst! I was able to do two trials, one for my engagement pictures/see if we mesh (we did 😋) before signing my contract and one for wedding day hair and makeup closer to my wedding day. Both trials went perfectly and we were able to come up with a plan for the big day! The hair stylist was so knowledgeable and recommended a great type of hair extension for me that I will continue to wear even after my wedding. The makeup artist was open to all of my inspo pics but gave me honest feedback on what would look best with my skin type and face structure. However, she was three hours late on my wedding day, but was apologetic and recovered flawlessly. She is insanely talented, they both are. We had a pretty large party, 10 girls for hair and 11 girls for makeup. They both work so quickly and efficiently, without sacrificing the quality of work. I was thoroughly impressed with each service. I would definitely work with both artists again! -

Beauty Knot......More like Beauty NOT!!!
Looks like it's time to update a review of this business! BEWARE!!!! The last review was from 2022!!!!!!!! My daughter signed a contract with Zahira & Evelyn for her March 28th, 2026 wedding. We were invited to Evelyn's home in Elmhurst for make up and hair trials. There was no salon, only the salon in Evelyn's basement. My daughter went for her $300 trial. Make up was pretty much good, eyelashes came off later in the day, but no biggie, just needed a few tweaks. Hair....what a joke. She brought in inspo pics for Evelyn to try and recreate. She did not ask many questions about the updo and what she was looking for. She also brought in her extensions for Evelyn to work with for an updo. Evelyn used one the sponges to help with the updo. When my daughter got home from her trial, you could still see the sponge thing. We let it go and considered this just a trial and hoped she would perfect the updo on wedding day. The updo didn't hold up well the rest of the day, slowly falling apart.
I went for my Mother of the Bride trial a few weeks later. Again, I brought pictures of my inspo for Evelyn to work with. No questions asked what vibe I was going for or anything. It was her daughter's birthday and she was more worried about her daughter and her friends coming over and going downtown and her son leaving his keys at the bank he works for. It took Evelyn about 20 minutes for her to do my updo. The pictures will speak for themselves. My hair looked like I slept on it. It was so messy and you could even see the powder that she used on my hair. She did not curl my hair before putting it up. There are barely any curls and they are not evenly distributed. Later that afternoon, I started losing pins and some hair fell out. Not a quality updo by any means.
I was not totally thrilled with my make up trial. I think part of it was because I am not used to seeing myself in that kind of make up. Zahira worked with me and gave me some suggestion. However, I will say, Zahira was late both days for our trials, and kind of scattered upon her arrival. She is nice, but runs late. I would suggest telling her to get to wherever you are getting ready at least an hour before she really needs to get there. The night before the wedding, I think I mentioned the start time of 8:00 about three (3) times in my confirmation texts, and she was still late by 30 minutes!! She doesn't live too far from the venue we were getting ready at. She probably lives about 15-20 mins away. And at the time of the day on wedding day, probably closer to 15 minutes since there wasn't much traffic!!!!
The day after my trial, (Sun., Feb 1st), I sent a follow up to both Zahira & Evelyn providing feedback from my trial. I did say in my trial that I loved how my hair looked but mentioned pins and hair falling out and asking for more curls. I received a response from Zahira, but nothing from Evelyn. I was irritated that I didn't get a response and the more I looked at the pictures, I kept finding more and more things wrong with it. I couldn't believe I said I loved it.
On Thursday, March 12th, 16 DAYS before my daughter's wedding, my daughter received a TEXT MESSAGE from Evelyn. "Hi, i'm so sorry, but I won't be able to do your wedding. Our trip plans changed unexpectedly, the only flights available now leaves on Friday 3/27, for spring break. We were supposed to leave on Sunday morning, our flight was canceled (Mexico) but we can't get anything else, everything is booked. I do have someone from our team who will take great care of you. She will be doing your hair, and Zahira will keep you updated with the timing and all the details. Thank you for understanding. (hearts emoji). She didn't have the professionalism to pick up the phone and call my daughter!!!!! She took the cowardly way out and sent a text message!!!!!!! Such a very unprofessional way to handle this! My daughter was kind and said she knows things happen and questioned a refund for our trials or a complimentary trial with the new stylist. Evelyn was "gracious" enough to let her out of the contract. However, initially she wasn't going to refund for the trial. My daughter said she eventually agreed to giving her back her money because she is the Bride, but wasn't going to give me a refund. My daughter told her she needed to do the right thing and refund my money as well because now I needed to get another trial with someone new. Finally, she did refund for my trial.
Everything happens for a reason. With the crappy work she did, how was she going to get 9 girls, & 2 flower girls done????? Our hair would have looked rushed and horrible!! We were SO thankful this happened. The ladies we found in a pinch were the MOST AMAZING TEAM!!!! The lead stylist asked me so many questions - what I was looking for, what color/style my dress was, what kind of vibe I was going for and helped guide me to what would look good on me. Our updos were solid!!!! And, I had tons of curls, just like I'd I was looking for! She even came to MY HOUSE for our trial!!!! She spent almost 2 hours with my beautiful daughter on her wedding day. She looked gorgeous!!! Zahira did a great job with make up on all of the girls. Although, she did try and defend Evelyn to the Mother of the Groom, which did not go well for Zahira.
Ladies, do your homework before you agree to have your hair done for your wedding day by Evelyn. See the pictures below. You will clearly know which one is the inspo picture. I did not expect it to look exactly like the inspo pic, but my updo looks NOTHING like the inspo pic!!! -
