This hall was the perfect size. And the outdoor balcony overlooking the park was magnificent. The staff was friendly and very helpful. This hall was the perfect size. And the outdoor balcony overlooking the park was magnificent. The staff was friendly and very helpful. -

I am obsessed with this building. It's beautiful and has a romantic feeling. We used the main floor which was perfect for my smaller wedding (both the ceremony and reception), but they can accommodate all sizes. They were super easy to work with and very, very pleasant people!I am obsessed with this building. It's beautiful and has a romantic feeling. I had my wedding & reception here on June 30, 2012. We planned to have only our reception here & we were going to get married in Bayliss Park across the street. The day ended up being 100 degrees & humid. They were very helpful in letting us change & use their ceremony space. Both spaces were the most beautiful. They were very helpful and easy to work with. The only negatives are that the reception space is on the 2nd floor and the restrooms are on the first floor, you can't light candles on the fireplace in the ceremony space, & you can't use Ice Buckets in the reception space. The space came with chairs, tables, & linens which is wonderful because we couldn't afford to rent them after how much we payed to rent the space. They have no liquer license so you can't sell alcohol, we just had an open bar which worked well for us. If you are serving alcohol you need to hire their security guard or one of your own. The security gueard they brought in spent most of his time away from the reception eating our food. Every time I saw him he was eating. We had a pretty calm crowd so I wasn't too worried. Just irritated that I paid for him to ignore our reception & eat our food. I will say if I had to do everything again I would for sure use them again, it was the most wonderful beautiful setting we could have ever asked for.I had my wedding & reception here on June 30, 2012. Since I didn't know what to expect - I can say this venue did well. I didn't feel like I was asking stupid questions, just asking things since it was not clarified in the paperwork. It is just a couple who run the place and I imagine they have other jobs, so organization and time spent with you or your coordinator is not top of the list. However, if you are looking for a venue where you literally have to bring everything with you, including booze and food, this is the place for you. Just know it is on the 2nd floor and you have to haul everything up the stairs(and back down). For the price you pay you get the venue, chairs and tables. They do offer some decorations that are in good shape. The building is old which adds to the charm. Really only a few negatives I can add here, the security guard should have introduced himself - I could not for the life of me figure out who he was at first. Second, there is some mold showing through the ceiling that needs to be repaired. Parking is weird even if you don't have to plug the meters.Since I didn't know what to expect - I can say this venue did well. Venue is beautiful, they also offer linens for your event which is one less vendor to deal with. I would book there again, If you have high expectations or want to decorate elaborately I would defiantly have a meeting with the vendor before hand to get exact rules of what is and isn't allowed for decorationsVenue is beautiful, they also offer linens for your event which is one less vendor to deal with.
