Delicious, great value, and lovely to work with

Bay Country is a quaint, side of the road bakery known for their donuts and delicious breakfast sandwiches, but delivers an awesome wedding cake! Gena was so, so sweet to work with. We had a great time at the tasting, everything was so delicious, and our final product was perfection. Can't wait for our anniversary to have another piece :)

Delicious Wedding Cake

Bay Country Bakery did our wedding cake and it was DELICOUS! We did a 3 tiered cake with 3 different flavors for about 130 guests. It looked beautiful and was affordable. We did our tasting at Bay Country, tried lots of flavors, and Gena helped us make our final decisions. Gena delivered the cake on the day of the wedding & added some flowers that we left out and it looked gorgeous! We can't wait to head back for our 1 year anniversary cake!!

We ordered a 2-tier wedding cake and enough cupcakes to feed our 120 guest. The cake was absolutely beautiful and was just what I wanted. The cupcakes were also a big hit! Everything was delicious and delivered on time, could not have asked for an easier transaction.

Bay Country Bakery made us an absolutely delicious wedding cake!! Both my husband and I, as well as our guests, raved and raved about it. The cake was not any bit dried out and the presentation of it was beautiful.

When you reach out to the bakery, you will set up a tasting for a fee (I believe it was $20), if you end up deciding to use them, that money goes towards your cake cost. They bring you out about 8 different pieces of cake to taste, and you can pick from what is there or from a larger selection they give you on paper. We chose their almond cake with buttercream (seriously the best almond flavor and NOT dry at all), and a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, chocolate ganache layered inside, and also covered in buttercream. So as you can see, they are very flexible on flavors, they split our 4 tiered cake into those 2 different flavors so we could have the best of both worlds!

The final great thing is that rather than attempting to freeze and eat your top tier a year later (an idea that sounds nostalgic but not actually delicious to me...), you call them 2 weeks in advance of your first anniversary and they will bake you a small round cake of your same cake flavor! (We will have to choose which flavor of the 2 that we want.... and it will be tough to choose between the two!)

Highly recommend you select Bay Country Bakery. The cake looked beautiful, tasted delicious, and all the staff we dealt with at the bakery were very professional and responsive. What more could you want?!

Our cake was absolutely delicious and beautiful. It was actually hard to choose a flavor at our tasting because they were all so good. Gena was wonderful to work with and we will definitely go back for other bakery needs.

The owner, Gena, was great to work with. She is very experienced and was able to make exactly what I wanted for my wedding cake. When I had my tasting, she sat down with us and went over all the cakes and the details. She also shared with us how she got her bakery started. The cake flavors were all amazing, but I went with the chocolate sour cream for 2 layers and 1 layer of yellow cake. I still stop in the bakery each time I pass it to get some yummy donuts and a loaf of cake. Thank you so much Bay Country Bakery!

Gena from Bay Country Bakery did a great job helping my daughter decide on a design for her wedding cake and cupcakes. The wedding cake along with the cupcakes turned out beautiful and were absolutely delicious!!!

They were some amazing people to do business with period....Even their prices were in my husband and I budget... We were ever so grateful for that...cake was sooooo delicious,they even gave us a free cake for our one year anniversary!!!!

Bay Country Bakery provided me with a memorial cake in honor of my mother who had recently passed away. My request was for a rather unusual cake -- a slot machine, for my mother loved playing the slots. The cake was absolutely stellar and her friends and family all loved it! Not only was it visually spectacular, it was delicious!!!! The cake was soft and the raspberry filling extremely tasty. I have heard from others that often times detailed cakes aren't as tasty as they look -- this one was truly delicious! We are lucky to have Bay Country Bakery on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Gena was so wonderful to work with! At our meeting at the adorable bakery, I brought a few pictures and she was able to design the cake to match my vision perfectly! We were able to order different flavors for each tier, which worked perfectly for our needs. The prices were very reasonable as well. I was a little worried about delivery charges, etc. since our ceremony fell on a holiday Sunday, however the total cost was well below our budget, yet tasted amazing!

Thank you so much for making our big day so special!

We had an incredible cake from Bay Country Bakery -- with two different flavors! The cake was so good, and beautiful to boot! Gena was great and very responsive, even during their busy season. Bay Country's prices are VERY reasonable. I can't wait for our anniversary cake!

Our cake was not only beautiful but it was also delicious--we didn't have a single piece left and we ordered more than enough for everyone! They designed the cake specifically for our preference and we couldn't have been happier. We would absolutely recommend Bay Country Bakery. There is a small charge for the cake tasting but it is deducted from the price of the wedding cake if you place your order. They were an excellent value and it's an actual bakery (as opposed to several at-home bakers on the Eastern Shore) with a large following.

Oh my goodness! Our wedding cake was truly the best thing since sliced bread! I cannot say enough about Bay Country Bakery, their professionalism and flexibility. I had dreamed of a peaches and cream wedding cake my entire life but couldn't find one on a bakery menu anywhere. Most bakers we spoke with were fairly unwilling to try it but when I mentioned my hopes to Gina she sailed in to the challenge! After our tasting, we came back a few weeks later to a pile of peaches and cream cake that was outstanding! I couldn't have been happier to have the cake of my dreams! Delivery was on time, the cake was gorgeous, and, most importantly, it was DELICIOUS!!!! I got home to FB posts my friends had sent during the wedding to tell me it was the best cake they'd ever tasted. I know Bay Country Bakery will be getting plenty more weddings after our evening as many of my friends are planning now. They were truly the best.

Gina from Bay Country designed my wedding cake and grooms cake completely from scratch. She provided a tasting with at least a dozen different cake, icing, and filling options. During the tasting, she drew a sketch of both cakes for me. They personally delivered the cakes to my location. The groom's cake was a replica of my husbands fire helmet which we actually had guests attempt to pick up the cake thinking it was the actual helmet. There was no one in the area that provided the options or artistry I desired in my price range. Best value in the area! Definitely worth every penny!

My Cake was beautiful, just how I imagined it! They were very professional, reasonable, and on time. The best part is not having to save the top tier, because they make you a free anniversary cake! It was delicious!

Loved our wedding cake from Bay Country Bakery. It was so beautiful and exactly what we wanted. We had a different flavor for each layer and every guest was so excited to try each. We had red velvet, chocolate sour cream and chocolate chip pound cake. They also made our grooms cake in the shape of a fish. it was very cute because my husband is a fisherman. One of my favorite aspects of this bakery is that on our one year anniversary, they will recreate the top layer of our cake and mail it to us! We can have fresh cake isstead of old frozen stale cake.

Bay Country Bakery is wonderful!!!! The best cake we have ever had and the most beautiful designs! The bakery worked with us to create our vision for the cake and again the cake was the best we have ever had! We highly recommend them for any event and especially a wedding! After going for our cake tasting, my grandfather remarked "I want to get married again so I can have this cake." Choosing the flavors was the hardest part!

Working with Gena and her team at Bay Country Bakery was amazing. She was such a delight and super patient with us as we decided on flavors, size and decor. She even set-up a second tasting for us of a peanut butter cake (which they had never made before but that we had our hearts set on). When we came back for that second tasting we were blown away. She knocked it out of the park. Her cakes are moist and delicious, the frosting is the perfect mix of sweet and buttery, and the decorative pieces of the cake were exactly as we had drawn up with her.

We loved Gena so much that we even had Bay Country Bakery make cute crab-shaped cookies as an element of our Welcome Baskets. To say these cookies were popular would be a huge understatement. We had about 50 extras in a basket at the inn where we got married and they were gone in the first few hours of the weekend. Sugar cookies that stay moist and delicious for days -- that's hard to come by but Gena made it look easy!

We can't recommend them enough. Can't wait for our first anniversary and the cake that Bay Country Bakery will make for us!

Best wedding cake ever! Or at least that is what many of our guests said. The process of picking the cake was the easiest and most fun. We had no worries, when it came to the cake, and are looking forward to our anniversary cake in April.

Owner Gena was a pleasure to work with. She was very friendly and easy-going & took the time to discuss our cake options. The prices are actually reasonable and fair. We LOVED our (almond & raspberry with chocolate fondant) cake and our guests were raving about it. We had leftover, which we froze and we get a free top tier on our anniversary.
The shop is conveniently located right near the Chesapeake Hyatt (a venue I highly recommend). A HUGE thank you to Gena and her wonderful staff for great service and a yummy cake!

Bay Country did both my wedding cake and the groom's cake. I found a picture (yes another picture) and the result was even more beautiful than I first thought. Incorporating my colors and with a twist here and there, my cake was amazing and brought many compliments.

Bay Country did an amazing job with our cupcakes, grooms cake and top tier wedding cake. The grooms cake was all camo copied from a picture that I gave Gina. In the words of my DH "the cake was bad a**", he loved it!! The cupcakes and top tier cake were AMAZING. Everyone was commenting on the flavors. I could not have asked for anything better.

We used Bay Country for my rehearsal party dessert and they did a wonderful job. I had them make a 4 layer cake of 4 different guidebooks since my husband and I love traveling. It turned out great! They also made delicious iced cookies that looked like emoticons which my guests loved! The cake itself was a pretty basic sheet cake, but tasted good nonetheless.

The cake was designed the way I envisioned and it tasted phenomenal. It was a breeze to work with Gena. She is very talented and a sweet individual. I would highly recommend her to anyone, even if you don't need a wedding cake!

I really enjoyed working with Bay Country Bakery for my wedding. They were the only cake vendor that actually took the time to sit down with me and have a formal cake tasting. And the cakes are delicious!! The paperwork and flow of ideas were wonderful, with only a little difficulty getting a response right before the wedding, but I believe that's because they are just so busy!

My only issue was that I was specific with what I wanted my cake to look like, providing photos and all. I was really nervous with the letters they put on the cake (first initials of our names) because in the look book, I didn't see the kind of letters I wanted, but the cakes they created were so beautiful, I trusted that the letters would be of equally great quality. But just to be sure, I mailed in specific font letters with the contract so there wouldn't be any confusion on alignment and approximate design. If I could do it again, I would've ordered the cake without the letters because they were 2x as big as they are in the photo, so instead of one half way above the other, they were next to each other. It did not look bad, but it was not what I envisioned since the letters came across more as a first and last initial rather than two first initials. If I had seen the cake before everyone else, I would have turned the cake around so the letters would be facing the wall. But it's such a small thing to focus on that it was fine. Plus...

Our grooms cake was AMAZING. We asked them for a Thomas Point Lighthouse cake, and the cake was seriously stunning. Since there aren't exactly pictures of what this cake would look like beforehand, I had to trust them 100%, and I am SO glad I did. I honestly believe that none of the other cake vendors I met with could have pulled off that cake. It was stunning. Seriously. It probably overshadowed the wedding cake a bit, but we did not care because it was just beautiful.

Best of all, they offer a very beautiful cake stand for an additional rental fee. I highly recommend it because the cake stand just makes the cake that much more elegant.

Cakes from Bay Country Bakery are well worth the money, that's for sure!

Bay Country was a great bakery to handle our classic three tier, white buttercream wedding cake. Gena, our contact at the bakery, provided generous tastings for us to make up our mind and allowed us the freedom to be as traditional or outside the box as we wanted. They worked directly with my florist to handle the flowers for the top of the cake and worked directly with the venue for delivery. The cake was beautiful and very affordable. In fact, we were quoted $400 MORE for the same cake by another baker. Great value for a delicious cake.

We were very happy with the cake. It was delicious and many of the guests commented on how good it was. It was also very beautiful, and she was easy to work with. We can't wait to get our anniversary cake next year!
