Fantastic, kind, and knowledgeable DJ!

Bruce was the fantastic DJ for our cocktail hour and reception. As musicians, my now husband and I were keen on having the music we really loved and appreciated played at our wedding. Bruce kindly listened to our many requests (including finding a very elusive first dance song!!!) and then added his own sage wisdom from his years of experience. Our bridal party commented to us how nice he was; he sent our best man to check in on us when we got lost in the crowd talking to people. After all, we had put together a specific playlist for our dance floor and we wanted to enjoy it! One of the most special moments of our evening was seeing nearly EVERYONE on the dance floor—guests of all ages from 2 1/2 years old to our grandparent were dancing away.
Bruce also came up with a clever strategy to initially get all of our guests on the dance floor. His announcements were always clear and enthusiastic without sounding fake or overdone. He worked excellently with our coordinator and photographer so that all was smooth throughout the evening. He also added uplighting, which added a lot to the ambience of the ballroom. We so appreciated having him as part of our team for the day!! We highly recommend Bruce’s services.

Hire Battleson Entertainment!!!!

Before I was a wedding planner I hired Bruce of Battleson Entertainment as the DJ for my wedding. Since then I have had the pleasure of working with him and Gus, another DJ on his team, for my clients' weddings. First off, as a bride, I knew without a doubt that Bruce had my back. He truly listened to us and wanted to make sure that our wedding was just what we wanted. He definitely made us the priority and our party over anything else...for example, when our venue wanted to close down our party a whole hour before our scheduled end time. He was by far, my favorite vendor. 13 years later...we now get to work as a team. I recently worked with Gus for the first time at one of my weddings and he was just as awesome as Bruce. He is personable, professional, has a great sense of humor and put all the same energy into getting to know the couple and the vibe they wanted for their wedding. As a wedding planner, I am very particular about the DJ's I recommend to my clients. The DJ's are a crucial element to the flow, vibe and seamlessness of a reception and I work very closely with them before the wedding and on the wedding day. You can trust Bruce and Gus at Battleson Entertainment to not just keep the dance floor filled, but to take the time to know you and have your back.

DJ Bruce - Wedding

Bruce is super professional, easy to work with, and great at tailoring music to the "vibe" you ask for. The music was awesome and his attention to detail was clear from the first conversation we had with him to the last song he played at our wedding. We would recommend DJ Bruce to anyone!

Bruce is the best!!

Bruce was so fun and easy to work with - from our initial phone call with him, we knew he was the best DJ for us. He had a laid back but professional attitude and we clicked with him right away.

Throughout the planning process, Bruce was very good at taking notes and listening to what we wanted. He uses a software that is easy to follow to add all of our songs - my only comment would be to make it a little easier to add songs. For 50% of the songs, I had to find them and put the link in even though they are common songs...they just wouldn't appear in his software when I searched...Otherwise, it was easy to use!
Bruce set up several calls with us leading up to the wedding to make sure he had the timeline, names, etc. down to a T. And it was all worth it, because he did a great job on the day of!

We had a very busy wedding with lots of moving parts, but Bruce did a great job with keeping up and getting everything right! He was accommodating to all of our crazy requests, even when we decided to give all of the wedding party couples their own choice of "walk up songs" for the grand entrance only a week before the wedding...and Bruce made it happen!

Overall, we can't thank Bruce enough for all he did for us. Thank you Bruce!

DJ Bruce is the best there is

DJ Bruce is fantastic! We used him for our wedding and would highly recommend to any one. He is laid back but also very helpful and informative. Bruce was very personable and fun. During our actual wedding he played everything at the right time and made sure the night ran smoothly and according to plan. He is also able to keep the dance floor fun and full of people the whole night. I would highly recommend using Bruce as your DJ for any party or event!

It was an absolute pleasure to work with DJ Bruce all through the preparation of my wedding music leading up to the big day. Bruce is extremely responsive and organized and put all of my stress at ease with his advice and help. He completely captured mine and my husband's style and created a party that was totally our vibe. I have received tons of compliments from my guests about the music at our wedding and it has been such a great feeling to hear how much fun our guests had. I even had a guest tell me that he had never before been to a wedding where every single person was on the dance floor the whole night! Hire him! You will be so relieved you did!

10/10 Recommend - Professional, Kind, Fun, and Adaptive DJ/Emcee

Could not recommend Battleson Entertainment enough! Hiring a DJ/Emcee can be one of the most difficult parts of planning a wedding since a website or phone call doesn't give you the full experience of what you'll be getting. We were lucky enough to have attended a wedding where Bruce was the DJ which made our decision so easy. He was great at that wedding yet he still surpassed our expectations for our own wedding.

After booking with Bruce he quickly sent over various questionnaires to give us the opportunity to set the tone for what we expected from him on wedding day. One of the best questions he asked is how we want our guests to perceive him at the wedding (funny, professional, behind the scenes, energetic, etc). We wanted someone that kept the night moving along but wasn't too in your face/center of attention at that's exactly what we got. Bruce has so much experience and really is able to give off the exact vibe that you want from him. We were also able to select all of the music for various parts of the day/night and also felt confident giving him free reign where we saw fit.

Our ceremony was outdoors on a terrace overlooking a somewhat busy street and a bay with large cruise ships. Bruce arrived early and tested his audio for an hour or so to make sure that there wouldn't be any interference from the wind or any of the ships. He really went above and beyond to ensure that our guests could hear us and that the audio for our video would be perfect. We had so many of our guests compliment how great Bruce was not only as a DJ keeping the dancefloor packed, but also as an Emcee during the reception introducing all of the key parts and people to the guests.

No need to feel stressed or worried about hiring a DJ because Bruce/Battleson Entertainment will meet and even surpass your expectations!

The party starter!!

Bruce made our wedding a party! He was so easy to plan with and the client portal he uses is so easy and fun to use! We had the best time on our day! He made all of our requests happen and we received so many compliments on our music!!

Coolest DJ Ever

We knew Bruce was the DJ for us from the get go. From our first phone conversation with him, we could tell his energy and kindness were exactly what we wanted at our wedding. He knew exactly what questions to ask, and what questions we would have. He made us feel confident when speaking about the wedding. His website made us very hands on in the selection of the music. It was well organized in determining the different parts of the wedding, and ensuring that the songs that we wanted were played at specific points of the wedding. His website also included helpful suggestions for parts of the wedding we weren't sure how to choose music for. The day of the wedding, he ensured everything sound wise went perfectly. He had the perfect amount of speakers and sound equipment. At no point did we feel any lulls. Bruce caught the ambiance of the wedding exactly as we wanted. Bruce even went above and beyond, when our wedding schedule got a bit off the rails towards the end, and he stayed an extra hour for us. We are truly grateful for Bruce, and are glad to have had Battleson Entertainment be a part of our wedding!

Fantastic MC and DJed the best dance party ever.

Bruce was so easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. His responses were always fast and helped with any questions we had. He has an incredible website called Bridesanity that we were able to use to pick our songs. The website provided us top song suggestions for each step, cake cutting, processional, happy hour, songs during dinner, dancing, etc. The website also provided a space to get to know us as a couple and the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We had a few phone meetings with Bruce that lasted over an hour to help guide us and solidify our vision! Bruce's MC skills throughout the night were very professional and provided a warm comfortable atmosphere along with keeping up with the schedule. His DJ booth was awesome!! We had the best dance party ever, which was important to us. Our guests and our self selves literally did not leave the dance floor once dancing began. We totally recommend Bruce to anyone looking to have a tailored wedding experience. Thank you Bruce for being incredible, we are forever grateful for you for making our wedding day so special.

Couldn't have imagined a more perfect DJ for our wedding!

We interviewed three highly recommended DJ’s for our wedding. Bruce came out on top. Even with our high expectations, Bruce exceeded them by far. He carefully listened to how we wanted our wedding to turn out and in the months and weeks leading up to the wedding, he was always available to listen to any adjustments we wanted to make.

Being in the business for as long as he has, he has a lot of experience and connections and recommendations. And it shows! He even gave us a referral for a harpist that we ended using for our ceremony that we loved.

On the day of the wedding, Bruce came prepared and made it his goal to make sure everyone had a good time. My groom had a last second request to surprise serenade me with his guitar and a bunch of our friends at the reception & Bruce helped to set it up perfectly. One of my most favorite moments of the day.

Everything was amazing that night - the music, the lighting, the jokes.

If you want a rock star wedding, Bruce is your guy!

There is no one who cares more than Bruce. Best DJ ever.

Look no further. Seriously. Bruce was my DJ for my wedding but he is also the DJ I use for almost every single wedding that I do (I am a wedding planner). There is NO ONE that I trust more, for so many reasons. First off, his equipment is top quality, and he ALWAYS is prepared for anything that could possibly happen (although, nothing ever does). There were so many moving parts at our wedding, and in each and every scenario, we were covered. Bruce will work with you to make sure everything is perfect ( the timeline, the lighting, your special songs, your special requests, etc.) I don’t think I have met a wedding vendor who cares more about his clients than Bruce does, and I say that with my whole heart. Think of him as your best friend who will make sure you have the best dance party of your life. Not only did Bruce keep our 9.5 hour wedding going and the dance floor packed (insane), he also made sure the ceremony was flawless and that the dinner went seamlessly. DJ’s aren’t just there to make sure that you have a fun dance party, they are there to make sure your vows are heard, the proper songs are being played as you walk down the aisle, that the lighting is right and that the entire mood of the wedding is on point. Bruce does that— every. single. time. He is professional, always on time and the easiest person to work with. His experience makes him invaluable, his personality makes you feel confident and at ease and his attention to detail is what makes your wedding day successful. You won't be disappointed!

We loved having Bruce as the DJ at our wedding and reception! He customized our music lists and songs to fit our exact tastes and desires. Bruce was always very professional, timely, and went out of his way to make sure we had what we wanted on our special day! He even made phone appointments with us that fit our schedule to confirm our selections on Bridesanity (his super cool and easy-to-use system of selecting music for your event). He brought all of his own equipment and set it up in such a way that the music was never too loud for the guests trying to talk at the tables, but always loud enough for those on the dance floor! Everyone at our wedding commented on what a good job he did relating the music to the needs of the guests at different times of the event. Coming from 2 very different distinct backgrounds, me being Mexican and my husband being Ghanaian, Bruce did such a great job by respecting our playlist and keeping the crowd very entertained!! Amazing and Fun DJ!

I can not say enough wonderful things about Bruce! He DJ'ed my friends Anna's wedding about 2 years ago and I already knew that I wanted him to be my DJ (even though I wasn't engaged or anything)! I thought he was amazing the way he got everyone on the dance floor. Bruce is incredibly easy to work with. He has a very kind/chill nature and really listens to what you want. You utilize his software to input the songs you'd like for first dance, cake cutting etc. which is very easy to use. Bruce even traveled (very far) as my wedding was in Northern California though I live in SoCal. I think he even had a wedding the night before mine but came with great energy. During the actual reception - he was funny, outgoing, and kept things running smoothly. He has a knack for knowing which songs are going to "work," I chose a couple of songs beforehand that turned out to be "duds" on the dance floor and he did a great job of transitioning smoothly when he saw people were not dancing. He was very economical in terms of cost too. I was pleased with all my vendors for my wedding - but I think Bruce was probably one of my top highlights of our wedding!!

Our Special Day

Bruce was so amazing! He kept everyone dancing and to be honest I was so stressed and the venue wasn’t very un organized. Thank god he knew what he was doing and truly saved the day. Highly Recommend DJ Bruce!

We booked Battleson Entertainment for our wedding in October and Bruce was awesome! We were referred by our wedding planner and from the beginning were impressed by his quick responses, easy-going nature and professionalism. He was extremely helpful with suggestions for not just music, but also lighting, timeline and other details we had overlooked.

From the ceremony to the dancing, Bruce kept the party moving. All night he kept people on the dance floor seamlessly moving between genres and reading the room for what was keeping people excited.

Honestly, the best choice for a DJ! We looked through several DJs to see which one was a good fit for our wedding. Bruce was definitely the perfect DJ for our wedding. When speaking to him, he really took the time to listen to our needs and desires for our wedding. He addressed our concerns by providing tips and ideas, which worked out amazingly for us. He even has a website that really goes over all the little formalities of the wedding, giving you the chance to customize it musically. He then goes over it with you to make sure you and him are on the same page. For a DJ to do all that prior to the wedding is peace of mind for any couple that wants their day to go as planned. When it came to the big day, Bruce did a phenomenal job! He brought out the “dance machine” out of all of our friends and family (even the ones that regularly decline to dance). His transitions and sequences were perfect as our guests kept complimenting us all night on the music and how they loved the songs being played. If you’re looking for a wedding DJ, look no further, get Bruce!

If you are looking for the BEST DJ experience you have ever had then I highly recommend Bruce Battleson! He is responsible, reliable and just a down to earth awesome person! I researched many DJ's before deciding on Battleson Entertainment and right away I had this gut feeling that he was the ONE and I was right! He went above and beyond our expectations as a DJ/MC for our wedding day! About a month before our wedding we scheduled a phone meeting where he asked us everything from introductions to announcements to the schedule of the day and the specific type of music selections that we wanted for each part of the wedding. We had ceremony music, cocktail hour music, music during dinner and a whole lot of dance music for the entire evening!
We had some outstanding requests in terms of Hindi/ Bollywood music and he was able to make it all happen! For example: for our first dance we started off with a classic love song for one minute, then we changed it to a minute of a Bollywood love song, then for the third part of our first dance he played a three minute upbeat mix of a Bollywood/Hindi/English mashup that we found on YouTube! He entertained our guests all evening and he really knew how to keep the dance floor full!!! Thank you Bruce for being such a kind person at heart and also making our wedding day so memorable and super fun!!!

It’s been two weeks since our wedding and I am literally still hearing from Friends and Family about how much fun they had dancing their butts off at our wedding. Battleson Entertainment truly kept the dance floor packed and moving. The DJ also has a very classy lighting system which I highly recommend. You definitely don’t want cheesy lighting affecting all the pretty photos you’re hoping your photographer is capturing! We hired Bruce off a recommendation and couldn’t have been happier with our decision. Going into this, I thought the DJ’s only job was to play music but you get way more with Battleson Entertainment. Bruce is extremely organized and prompt with emails. He scheduled a few consultations with us to get to know us better and to understand what we were looking for. Bruce reached out to us to schedule our last consultation, with plenty of time before our wedding, so we weren’t rushing to figure it all out like we had to with many of our other vendors. This is important because as you get closer to the Wedding day you tend to lose your mind a tad… Bruce made sure we kept everything on schedule, which is ULTRA important.
The music is the most important thing about this review. Without going to an actual event and hearing a DJ in persons it’s hard to rate their performance. I am picky with music and because my Wife is from South America we had to make sure that we had a good mixture of American and Latin music. Not a problem in the slightest. They have a great system for YOU to go through and build playlists for the wedding or exclude songs that you 100% DON’T WANT TO HEAR! Sorry Casper Slide (“Take it back now ya’ll”). I cannot tell you how awesome we both felt watching all our loved ones dancing with us on the dance floor till the very last song at 11pm. People went as far as shouting “One more song, one more song.” It will be the thing people talk about the next day. Hope this review helps and Happy partying to all!

My husband and I hired Bruce Battleson as the DJ for our wedding last weekend and it was a wonderful decision! Bruce was friendly, accommodating, and professional throughout the whole process. He has his own website and software that made it so easy to request specific songs, set up the timing for certain events at the wedding, and determine songs that you do not want to be played. Bruce was friendly and personable at the wedding and made sure our wedding was incredibly fun and unforgettable! We are so happy that we hired Bruce and would encourage anyone else looking for a DJ for their wedding to do the same!

By the recommendation of a co-worker we hired Gus with Battleson DJ for our Feb 2017 wedding at Scripps Seaside Forum and it was the best decision we could have made. Gus is an absolute professional. He has a very calm demeanor in the two meetings we had leading up to our wedding. We spoke with him twice via video chat. He gave us access to a website to select our favorite songs and he gave great feedback to our timeline and awesome suggestions. You will realize quickly that he has been to more weddings that you will in your entire life and to trust his judgement. When he made a gentle suggestion I took it as a mandate because he knows what he is doing. I even changed the processional and recessional songs the morning of the wedding and he put them into play no problem. His pricing is very competitive. You can find DJs that are less expensive and some that are more expensive but coming from one bride to another the DJ is the second most important vendor at your wedding (after your caterer) and go ahead and pick the right one. You will be so thankful.

We worked with Bruce and Paul at Battleson entertainment. We were looking for DJ and projection services for an outdoor reception. We looked at a ton of vendors but could not find one that would allow us to do projection outdoors because of the potential for wind to knock over the screens. Bruce Battleson was able to provide us with two amazing screens stretched over an aluminum support from a subcontractor. They looked like small versions of screens you may see at an outdoor concert. We worked with Paul to get the music we wanted for the ceremony and reception. He purchased any music that we wanted that he did not already have in his collection. Both Bruce and Paul were very accommodating and they did a great job with our wedding. The DJ booth and the screens looked professional and our guests enjoyed it. We definitely think they are worth the price as they made everything look professional and did a great job helping us get what we needed where other vendors were unable. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them to others!

Bruce is seriously the BEST DJ EVER! Our guests raved about how awesome he was throughout the whole wedding!
Pre-Planning – Bruce was great in walking us through how to use the online system to pick out all our songs. As we got closer to our wedding day he scheduled time to go over all of the survey details with us. We live in New Mexico, but working with Bruce in California over the phone was super easy!
Wedding Day – Everything went amazingly. The quality of his set up, equipment, microphone, and music was pure perfection. There were no sound distortions or failures at any point during the entire event. Everyone heard us loud and clear during the ceremony and then during the reception the crowd just went wild. He was so great and revving them up. Near the end of the reception, he most definitely noticed that our friends are big fans of EDM and played such great hits. One of my favorite memories is when our friends were singing from the top of our lungs on the dance floor. He encouraged us to get behind the DJ booth for photo ops and I am just eager to see how cool those shots must have come out. We really LOVE Bruce and cannot sing his praises enough for making our wedding one of the best people have ever been to.

Gus Garcia, DJ, was awesome! Bride and groom requested a somewhat toned-down vibe for the DJ, and Gus nailed it. He struck the perfect balance between revving up the crowd for dancing and keeping a relatively low profile. He was funny and charming but not overbearing. Guests of the bride and groom’s generation had an especially fantastic time, shakin’ it down on the dance floor for hours almost without interruption. Gus found the perfect tone for announcing wedding party, first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance. Couldn’t recommend him more!

My husband and I were married in August 2016 and you would not believe the compliments we've received about the music at the wedding. Bruce was professional and accommodating from start to finish. I spoke with him before the wedding and mentioned some songs we wanted, and based on some of our song choices and suggestions he offered his vision to us which was spot on.

We've been to a LOT of weddings lately and from a guest's perspective, I can truly say that music can be the difference maker between a good wedding and a so-so one. Bruce nailed the pre-ceremony music, cocktail hour and dinner music, and DANCE floor music. One of our biggest concerns was having a wedding where nobody danced, but he had the dance floor packed and rocking until 11:30 PM! If you choose Bruce and Battleson Entertainment you can eliminate music from your list of worries for the event, and afterwards you'll have everyone telling you how good the music was :) We give them the highest recommendation.

We were very happy with Gus at our wedding. We asked for a party with our friends and family and he brought it. He's was easy to communicate with and created a timeline for our reception in addition to the music. He integrated our guests music requests during the wedding in a great way. We couldn't be happier with Gus at our wedding, he read the crowd and kept them dancing all night. Our guests told us this was one of the most fun weddings they've been to.

we used Battleson Entertainment for our wedding. Bruce was our DJ for the event. We started working with him about a year before the wedding. He was the first vendor we hired and really helped guide us through the whole process. He clearly is a professional and knows exactly what needs to happen at a wedding. He had the idea to get everyone on the dance floor to take a group photo to kick off the dancing and it worked perfectly...not only do we have fantastic group picture but it got our entire wedding on the dance floor rocking out!! It was so much fun...help was diligent with our timeline and helping us pick specific songs for each activity at the wedding from announcing the wedding party to the cake cutting. He worked closely with our wedding coordinator as well as our photographer...it all went off with out a hitch. We could not have been happier with our wedding and Bruce really made a difference in helping us personalize it. I recommend him and his team all the way!

Gus was an amazing wedding DJ, and we feel so incredibly fortunate to have had him as our DJ! We absolutely could not have picked anyone better! We were referred to him through our friend. The most important thing to know about Gus is how easy he is to work with and how accommodating and flexible he is. This is so important when it comes to planning a wedding because it really made our wedding planning fun and reduced the stress level. Gus gave us some "homework" to do that involved a few worksheets on our preferences so he could get to know us and our style before our first meeting. Due to our hectic work schedules, my husband and I failed miserably with our homework and sheepishly admitted to Gus that we had not done any of it when he very kindly asked us for it a couple of days before our first scheduled meeting. Gus was so patient with us though, and talked us through everything during our first meeting. We had no idea what kind of music we wanted, but Gus took the time to get to know us, and then came up with suggestions as he got to know our style. He really got a sense of who we were and it blew me away how his suggestions were exactly what we were looking for. He is also incredibly professional and reliable. On the day of the wedding, he had pretty much already set up and was ready to go before I even realized he had arrived. Before the wedding, I was worried about if people would dance, and of course, if people would have fun. Gus did such a fantastic job at getting the crowd excited and also with the music that everyone danced the night away! He was extremely charismatic and funny in the perfect way/ amount during the festivities and really made our wedding a fun party! Gus is a natural as a DJ and such a personable, caring person. As a result, it really felt as if we had a friend DJ for us! We could not have asked for anything more.

Bruce is the bomb! You may think you want someone to just play music, but what you really need is a fully fledged emcee. Bruce is THE master of ceremonies - he’s got the process down and will play all the music you like, none of the music you don’t like, and even the music you didn’t even know you needed but is getting all your guests and even the great-aunt you never knew could dance, on the dance floor. He’s a pretty awesomely personable guy, genuine, and knows to heart that weddings can go any which of 100 ways. That’s why he asks you to fill out an online questionnaire that makes you realize how many things you didn’t even know you should be thinking about! (you know, unless you’ve done this before). He’s got wireless uplights, speakers, mics, and can do slideshow videos if you give him the dvd! I can’t recommend him more.

We had Gus from Battleson Entertainment as our wedding DJ and my husband and I are so glad we did! Gus really did an amazing job. He cued and timed the music perfectly for the wedding ceremony, he was energetic and fun, played great music at the reception (he played all our must have songs and also was able to tell what the wedding guests wanted more of), he kept people on the dance floor so it felt like a party and created some great photo opportunities as well. Gus from Battleson Entertainment was the DJ at our wedding and I would completely recommend him to anyone. I was so worried that we were going to end up with a cheesy wedding DJ or that my guests were not going to interact but the reception ended up so far from those things. Gus helped establish a flow for the night and was able to get all our guests young and old out on the dance floor celebrating together the whole night. Everyone seemed to have so much fun and all our guests came together like they were all old friends. Gus was professional and very helpful in the planning process. The music selections were fun and modern and completely appropriate for the family setting. It was also really nice to be able to select some of the music that was important to us in advance and Gus was helpful at giving advice or feedback when we needed it. At the event he was personable and helpful with our guests. I am so happy that we went with him. He was so easy going and reassuring and the night of our wedding I was just so happy to see all the events of the night transition naturally.

We had the pleasure of having Gus as our DJ for our wedding. He was awesome! before the wedding we talked several times, filled out questionnaires so that he would know our music taste and they even have a website where to can select music you do and don't want to be played. Gus made everything so easy and enjoyable even with a few minor bumps in the road I never stressed once because he always had it under control. Gus is amazing! With one meeting he knew exactly what we liked and what we expected. He was very helpful and informative on planning for our big day. We hired him because he had done my sisters wedding 10 years prior and really made that day memorable. We loved him then and he only improved in those years. He has experience and really knows how to make a party great. Our DJ was the BOMB! We had the pleasure of working with Gus, who made everything so easy and simple for us. The company had us fill out some questionnaires to get a taste of what kind of music we wanted and also an online must play/do not play list for us to choose music from so it's easier for them to know which direction we wanted to go. We then met with Gus via FaceTime prior to our wedding to hammer out details. He was both professional and personable, very accommodating and made great suggestions. We couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Our wedding was the ultimate party because of him, everybody was on their feet dancing at the end of the night, it was awesome!

Hands down, best DJ, at any wedding I have ever been to. Bruce really loves what he does and you can tell..I had multiple people complimenting us on the DJ after the wedding. He is very flexible, responsive, and professional. His pricing was very fair for us (off season). In addition, he has all sorts of great lighting equipment.

There was no hassle with setting up the audio, there was no feedback or audio problems, everything was played on time, high quality, with absolutely no issues.

He got the music mix 100% exactly right even with out eclectic taste (80's, rock, some new pop and a some foreign music for the family members). The dance floor was going off the entire time! He had great suggestions and everything was very easy. He is very responsive; we had a mini issue the day before with song selection and Bruce solved it no problem.

I wouldn't have any doubt with him and highly recommend him. If you have any doubts just meet him...they'll be gone.

From the day we contacted Bruce about being the DJ at our wedding to following up with us a few days later, Bruce was nothing but professional, informative, and easy to work with.

We met with Bruce several times before our wedding day. Each time we met up, he was on-time and ready to go. He always had ideas for us if we were stuck (e.g. cake cutting song, bouquet toss song, etc.).

Although we loved everything Bruce did to make our wedding special, our favorite thing he did was always made sure our dance floor was packed. When we started the first set of songs and dancing, Bruce gathered everyone together on our dance floor for a group picture. As soon as the picture was complete, he started playing Uptown Funk, which kept everyone on the dance floor. Later that night, we took a break from dancing to cut the cake. After the cake cutting break, Bruce called all the ladies to the dance floor. He played "Something Bad" by Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood to get all the girls dancing again. After that song, he invited all of the guys back to the dance floor, as well. Again, this was the perfect way to get everyone on the dance floor.

We would highly recommend Bruce to anyone getting married. Since our wedding, we have had so many guests tell us how much fun they had on our special day. Personally, we spent most of our night on the dance floor, and had the time of our lives at our wedding, and a big reason for that was Bruce!

Bruce was absolutely amazing! There is no DJ out there that has the passion for what they do like Bruce does. My fiance and I contracted Bruce to be our DJ for our October 2014 wedding. From the first meeting, Bruce was very professional and non salesman like, unlike many other DJs we met. Bruce had a clear passion for music and being a DJ which was contagious for us. His prices were very reasonable and competitive, making him an even more appealing choice. After choosing Bruce as our DJ, he provide us with a database of thousands of music selection so we could track for him music to be listed on a "must play", "play if possible" and "do not play" list. We also indicated which songs were intended for special moments (i.e. first dance, cake cutting, bridal party introductions, etc.) It was very comforting to know that Bruce was so detail oriented, because we felt like we were in good hands. We had a final meeting with Bruce to discuss final details, the event timeline and name pronunciation as well. Bruce was easy to work with, had great ideas and our day flew by fantastically! We would choose Bruce if we had to do it all over again and would definitely recommend him to other engaged couples as well!

Bruce was the best DJ I have ever met. He was so attentive to us and helpful in creating the mood we wanted for our wedding. I was so pleased to find Bruce of Battleson Entertainment. He met with us before the wedding date and we discussed the time frame of the reception and Bruce had lots of good ideas. Bruce is amazing! I don't even know where to start! He is so organized & helpful from the start. I really don't know what I would have done without him. When you're wedding planning everything is so stressful & busy, then when it comes down to the last month & you really have to crack down & pick all your finally details. Bruce made this whole process a breeze with helping us pick our songs & set the tone of the whole wedding. I really think he was worth more than we paid! He made everything go so smoothly during the ceremony & the reception. I could not be happier. We also got the up-lighting around the room. It really lit up the room & gave it the perfect touch! I couldn't imagine going with a different DJ! More than I could have wished for!

Bruce was the DJ at my wedding this month, and I was so happy with the whole process. I'm an obsessive planner who loves to think of every detail ahead of time whenever possible, and I knew Bruce was going to be the right fit as soon as we had our first consultation. During our first meeting, when I asked what makes him such a successful DJ, he said that he knows how to create great sets of music that make sense and can read crowds well. When I asked other DJs the same question, they just said "I have lots of experience", which didn't make me feel as comfortable as what Bruce said. Next, when I expressed my concerns about having some shy family and wanting to make sure they have a good time, he gave us some great ideas for games and ways to break the ice - we did end up using a couple of these strategies, and they worked great :)

Following the meeting, he sent us several pages of very detailed questionnaires, which I LOVED - it had questions such as "What personality would you like your DJ to convey", "What song do you want for the cake cutting", "Who is your favorite artist", etc. Additionally, he sent us a link to his website where you can search through his HUGE database of songs and specify what songs he must play, what songs you'd like to hear, and what songs you hate. If there's a song you want that he doesn't have, he'll purchase it (he did this with 2 or 3 songs for my wedding).

On the big day, he had separate setups for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and everything worked perfectly with no glitches. He said just enough to be a great MC, but not so much that he attracted excess attention. He truly did have great sets and read the crowd well during the dancing - there was one point where it fell flat, but he immediately recognized it, and the crowd was back on the dance floor in less than a minute.

Bruce was such an important part of my wedding day, and I can't thank him enough!

I first saw Bruce DJ at a friends wedding. He had the entire party dancing all night, regardless of their age. This was exactly what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. Bruce was more than flexible, he met with my sisters and I first and he allowed my husband to chat with him over the phone and via email. Once we made the decision to go with Bruce he was more than easy to communicate with. He gave us a number of tips and pointers, song lists to review, and questionnaires to help us understand what we were even looking for. Based on a few song suggestions that we provided he completely understood what kind of vibe we wanted for each portion of the wedding. He even helped us find a number of options for the father/daughter and mother/son dances when our parents were a bit indecisive as the days before the wedding approached.

On the day of the actual wedding Bruce arrived early to set up, he was completely self sufficient, and was dressed very professionally. Timing of every song was just right and the music never had an awkward pause or lull. When it came to the dance party he was incredible. Everyone at the wedding could not believe that we loved song after song after song. Besides the quality of songs selected Bruce helped us make the party wonderful. At one point in the evening everyone was too hot dancing inside. We asked Bruce what he thought about moving the party outside onto the courtyard. He smiled said he would absolutely try it and simply turned the speaker around to accommodate our wishes. We danced under the stars for the rest of the evening. The wedding was an absolute success due to the music and Bruce's ability to keep the crowd excited and involved all night.

Bruce was a pleasure to work with and we will hopefully get to work with him again at any future celeb

Kyler did an amazing job as the DJ for our wedding. He was fun, friendly, helpful, and informative from the very beginning, answering all of our questions, providing lots of details, and generally just being wonderful to talk to.

He did an absolutely fabulous job at the event - working both our ceremony and reception. Everything was flawless. Our photographer, officiant, and others performing in the ceremony commented on how professional and helpful Kyler was for the ceremony, and pretty much everyone talked to us about how amazing the music was at the reception. Kyler had great selections for the cocktail hour, and he kept the dance floor packed all night. He was so attentive to our wishes, playing all the songs we requested and having a good feel of what else to play based on that list. He was non-intrusive, professional, and really a true joy to work with. Hiring him was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

We could not have asked for a better DJ. Bruce was awesome! He kept everything running smooth and was able to get everybody out on the dance floor. My wife and I had a number of people come up to us throughout the wedding and telling us that the music Bruce was playing was outstanding! Bruce even paid attention to my brother's toast where he mentioned that as a kid my favorite song was "Blue." We can not say enough about how great Gus at Battleson was. He met with us multiple times, made sure that we were comfortable with all the song choices and helped us find things that would be fun for everyone.

At the venue, Gus was a great example of professionalism. He didn't say a word when our photographer ran long, he just was flexible and rolled with it. Most exciting was that since my wife's dad was not there, he worked with her brothers and they set up a brother-sister dance. She was so surprised and it meant so much to her.

Gus and Battleson are great and will take care of everything you need.

Bruce recently DJ'd our wedding and we could not have been happier with the service he provided for us. Our contact with Bruce was mainly via email and skype since we were planning a wedding from out of town. He is incredibly organized and friendly so we had no doubt that he would do an amazing job...and he did!

We got so many compliments on the dance floor about how great the DJ was and how well he was able to keep the dance floor packed. He really knew how to read the crowd. He also did a great job keeping the evening moving and on time and stuck to the timeline we had created almost perfectly.

Bruce also provided beautiful up-lighting for our reception space which made the space truly elegant and fun at the same time! Bruce also coordinated with my mother in law to provide a surprise for my husband and I...we walked into the reception space and saw our names and the date of our wedding projected onto the ceiling. It was awesome!!!

As a bonus, Bruce also helped to create two custom, compilation songs for our mother/son, father/daughter dance. We were so happy for his help.

I would hire Bruce to DJ another event in a second. He was amazing to work with and he made the night incredibly memorable.

Bruce did an amazing job at our wedding! Not only was he able to fulfill my last minute request for a gobo, his determination to set up the gobo in the perfect position definitely earned every one of these stars. Bruce played every song we requested and we had a long list of them. He hit every one of them on the mark and our wedding was flawless. All of our guests have told us how much fun they had and Bruce was a pro at keeping everyone on the dance floor the entire night until we had to tell everyone to go home. We worked with Battleson Entertainment for our Wedding in July. Gus was our DJ and we absolutely loved working with him. Bruce was the DJ for my wedding at the Huntington Beach Hilton last month. I was pretty picky about choosing a DJ, and I ended up going with Bruce because he was recommended by my photographer and more importantly he was so professional, friendly, and NORMAL on the phone. Not to mention the pricing was reasonable!

I was recommended to Bruce from my wedding coordinator friend and it was a great referral. Bruce is so easy to work with and really manages the evening to how you want.

I had last minute changes and they were no issue at all for him. The wedding guests had a great time and some friends said it was the most well run, fun wedding they have attended. Bruce does a great job at keeping the party going and reading the crowd.

Gus Garcia made the reception the fabulous event that it was. I cannot say enough how wonderful he was. I had so many wedding guests come up to me to me tell how great our DJ was. he kept the wedding reception organized but also so fun. People did not stop dancing from the first song until we finally had to tell people the reception was over and get them off the dance floor. even our wedding coordinator who works many many weddings at a very popular wedding venue said she had never worked with such an organized and well prepared DJ and had ideas that she had not seen any other DJ's create . and he is just such a nice guy also. We were referred to Battleson Entertainment from my friend used them for her wedding. I cannot say enough good things about them. Bruce the owner was so responsive and although he wasn't available for our date he set us up with Gus. We had an absolutely great experience with Gus throughout the whole process. From the beginning he called us on the phone and spent almost an hour asking us questions about our wedding and what we were looking for. After we booked we were provided with access to an online database of music where we could choose songs we wanted and didn't want. Before the wedding, he spent over two hours with us going over the timeline and making us feel well taken care of. Both Bruce and Gus were highly responsive both by email and phone from the time we booked and up until the wedding. On the day of Gus did a great job getting the guests interested and involved and was a great MC. He kept things on track and moving along and was flexible when changes needed to be made. You will have a great experience with Battleson Entertainment!

yet another 5/5 review for Bruce and Battleson Entertainment, as he ensured my 250 guests enjoyed our wedding by providing the soundtrack. i have to admit that he gave me 100% control of what music was played by only playing songs from a list of around 300 songs i hand chose, but finding a professional who gives you that kind of freedom in itself is pretty awesome. Bruce also had enough equipment for three separate areas (cocktail hour, dinner, and dancefloor), and took care of all the standard wedding procedures like the bridal party entrance, speeches, slideshow, first dances, etc. even when we met before the wedding date to go over details, he was very professional, and helped my wife plan the itinerary to ensure the night went smoothly. in the end, i have absolutely nothing to complain about Bruce, and anyone who has any questions can contact me at jgranflor at yahoo and i can go into detail more about how much of a right decision he was for our special night. remember that there are two things people will remember about your wedding - the food, and the music, and if you hire Battleson Entertainment, you can relax and turn your attention to the appetizers and cake, cause Bruce will take care of everything else...

We found Bruce after recommendations from my coworkers. He is really fun to work with, energetic, humourous, and creative. We originally hired him to be our DJ/MC for our reception, but in the end also hired him to do the lighting for our wedding reception. Although he gave us "homework", he really made the effort to get to know us, and even tried hard to correctly pronounce everyone's names, even the Asian ones.
He was flexible and worked with our wedding reception venue's restrictions. We had a lot of fun at our reception, and we didn't have to worry about anything because he had already met with us ahead of time and confirmed the details.

My wife and I got married last summer. We did all the planning ourselves and fortunatley we found Bruce through a recommendation of another DJ. Bruce was the best. Very professional and responsive. He's also one of the best wedding DJs we have ever seen. He really knows how to keep the party going and made the whole night run so smooth. Battleson Entertainment was and is AMAZING!! They were great and easy to work with and made our wedding so memorable for us and all of our guests. I always tell my friends the key to a great wedding is a great DJ. The right DJ will keep your wedding day flowing, let your guests know what is going on and keep everyone on the dance floor! Bruce and Gus did just that for us and ALL of our friends and family we have recommended them to. They have an excellent survey they guide you through when you meet before your wedding to help you choose songs for the important highlights of your wedding: walking out of the ceremony, walking into the reception, cake cutting, garter toss, etc. and if you have them do the lighting at your reception the added ambiance to the room will not go unnoticed. All in all Battleson Entertainment is one of a kind!! No need to look any further for the best DJ at a fantastic price!

Bruce of Battleson Entertainment is one of our favorite vendors to work with. He can tackle anything you throw at him from the initial planning stages all the way to the wedding day itself.

We asked him tons of questions and threw curveballs at him and he always came out on top. He walks you through the whole song selection stages to ensure that the music fits what you want plus provides you CDs to help get you started.

He gives you homework so that he can learn about your personality more and cater towards your every need accordingly. Bruce has a unique way of figuring out a crowd and getting them to get their groove on.

Bruce is a genuine professional and caring person so will make sure that your wedding will be a good time with no hiccups. He performs under pressure with no problem and can get the party started at the same time too :-).

Any couple will enjoy Bruce and will be glad to have chosen him as their DJ. We sure did!

When my daughter announced her engagement, I knew there would be lots of searching, planning, and decisions to be made. One of the first decisions was the Dj. After attending many wedding events, I knew that the music is one of the biggest reasons guests enjoy a wedding reception. My daughter and fiancé wanted their wedding reception to be fun and memorable. My daughter and I searched, interviewed, and hand-picked Bruce Battleson of Battleson Entertainment – the BEST Dj ever!
