Got my color done here for my wedding. The ambiance is amazing, love the perks of getting to have tea/coffee and snacks, too. JONNY IS THE BEST! Won't see anyone else.

I can not say enough about Marcela and Kate of Bangz salon! Marcela is my normal hair stylist & she is incredible, and I found Kate at Bangz when looking for a makeup artist for my wedding. First, the hair... Marcela was incredible both at my trial and on the day of my wedding, and my hair came out perfectly. She fussed over it, made sure it was in place, put in my special hair clip and veil, and also worked with me on the extensions I had created beforehand, making sure they were the right length, color, thickness, etc. My hair was everything I hoped for and I was so happy! As for the makeup, Kate is insanely talented!!! She did a phenomenal job at my trial and on my wedding day- hiding dark circles from late night wedding planning, any imperfections on my skin, and created the exact glam smokey eye look I was going for! Kate also did my mom and several of my bridesmaids and they were all absolutely thrilled with how their makeup came out! Marcela and Kate were a dream team for my wedding, and Bangz salon is so beautiful, high end, and really gives you a luxury experience. I HIGHLY recommend the salon to regular customers and brides everywhere!

My wife was thrilled with the updo Pedro gave her. She has gotten so many complements on how beautiful her hair looked the day of our wedding. Pedro looked at the photos she brought to her trial run and got her hair perfect on the first try. Bangz was also very easy to work with. They are open on Sundays, which was the day of our wedding, and did not bat an eye when my wife told them she wanted to have her trial run one week before her wedding, as we were planning our wedding from out of state.

Bangz is definitely a find. Marlene is lovely to work with and quick to respond; she helped coordinate hair and makeup appointments for seven girls, as well as a few last-minute additions. We all made it out of the salon on time.

Robyn did my hair and I loved how it came out. Savannah did most of the girls' makeup. Both are down-to-earth, have a sense of humor and know how to guide brides in the right direction.

We had our photographs taken a few hours before the wedding, so unfortunately the blowouts & curls didn't hold as long as we'd hoped, but that's understandable; from the pictures I've seen so far, everyone still looked great, and a few of the bridesmaids said they'd definitely pay to return.

Definitely check them out. You'll feel like the center of attention and be happy with the results.

Linda did my hair and Christine did makeup. They both did a perfect job and I couldn't have been happier. The only reason I didn't give a straight 5.0 was because the price was a bit high. It was worth it though.

My hair and makeup made me look like a page out of Vogue! I was really pleased with everything that they did. I had Chris do me hair, and she was incredible. I had a VERY specific idea of how my hair was going to go - first, she made me a custom hairpiece because my hair was too short to do what I wanted. Then, she worked with me to do a very funky hairstyle. I have to give her major credit -- she took something that was abstract and made it come to life, and it looked as incredible as I had pictured. Not only that, but she came in on her day off to do it!
Tonya did my makeup. Again, amazing job. She listened to my concerns (I have very sensitive skin and have to use specific products). She also worked with my unique style to make sure I didn't look like some 80's chick from hell (I can't tell you how many brides I have seen with those bright blush stripes. Yikes!!!!). The makeup lasted all day, and I looked natural, beautiful and glowy.

I am a regular customer here, but was disappointed on my wedding day slightly. My makeup was terrible and a waste of my money. She did not do what was asked. (I didn't have a trial, though, but I don't understand why I would have needed one. I didn't ask for anything abnormal. My makeup was barely visible and I had to apply my own when I returned to my house.)

My day of hair was fine - but I was unhappy with my trial. I forgot to bring my camera and was unable to leave the salon with my hair done. I had to pay $100 and couldn't even let my mother and sister see my hair from the trial!! That's absurd since I paid for it!!!

    HORRIBLE humiliating experience

Over the last couple years, I’ve been a client of Bangz on and off. I’ve tried 3 stylists in total all wonderful, the last being Cat Erkl. She was the stylist I felt really understood what I wanted as it translated in the outcome each time she did my hair. She is the stylist I’ll be writing this review about.
I had an apt for a haircut and toner on 2/11/ 23. I’ve waited a couple days before writing this review because I didn’t want to write an emotional review, I want this review to be as objective as possible.
As a mother of two small children, a wife and a registered nurse I can tell you time at the salon; getting pampered, having uninterrupted time to read is always a treat and something that doesn’t happen often so it’s something I always look forward to.
This past Saturday was anything but pleasant. I want to emphasize that my reason for writing this isn’t because I’m trying to be petty. My intention is to prevent someone else from having to endure my same experience.
I arrived to my apt 8 minutes late, Cat greeted me with a smile, lead me to her chair and asked me what we were doing today. I said a toner for the balayage she did this past November because the color was naturally becoming a little brassy and a haircut. She then guided me to the washing area. I was on the phone, and she waited till I got off to get started, I apologized for holding her up.
She put the toner in my hair told me shed leave it on a couple minutes and I suggested her leave it on a couple additional minutes. I reminded her that when she did the balayage in November the color was a bit too yellow, and she left the toner on a bit longer; she ignored my request but I didn’t give it too thought since I was engulfed in reading my book. The toner and was are done im told to go to Cats chair and we catch up with all the small talk subjects we’ve touched on in the past. I’m a very private person. I’ve never used Cat as a “therapist “she knows nothing of my personal life aside from me being a wife, mother, nurse, I enjoy the show Yellowstone and I’m on my 10th Colleen Hoover book. I was intermittently silent because I was focused on reading. When I glance up I noticed she was blow drying my hair, I asked “did you already cut my hair?” she said no I’m going to cut your hair dry – I asked “ wont it look choppy if you cut it dry ? she added that “last time I cut your hair I did it half wet /half dry. I responded, “oh ok I don’t remember”. I continued reading my book…. When all was done, she gave me the mirror to look at the back; I asked her to please give me some more layers and to make my curtain bangs a little shorter too. After she was done she gives the mirror once again, I look and love it. I say thank you and then ask what the service is to help me blend my grey that are just at my hair line she responds it’s called a “ glaze”. I said great ok so I’ll make an apt with you in three weeks for my birthday for a glaze… CAT ERKL – proceeds to say “actually moving forward, I can’t do your hair anymore, I don’t think were the best fit” I was stunned! there were other people close by and listening and looking in our direction, it was embarrassing. I asked her “why?! I don’t understand” she proceeds to start recommending other stylists by name and then I literally say “I’m stunned, why can’t you do my hair anymore? I don’t understand “ she says loudly; “we are just not a good fit, we don’t VIBE” at this point I swear I’m so confused. I ask “did I say something to upset you? She said “no, I just don’t think I can make you happy” I said “Cat, I am happy, very happy with my hair.. is it because I asked for more layers ?!” she shrugged her shoulders and said “well, I’m sorry were just not VIBING” this experience was humiliating, unwarranted, and ridiculously unprofessional. You could imagine my frustration, I finally answer her saying “we are not friends, we don’t have to Vibe I’m paying for you to do my hair and I’d like to speak with your manager”. She said “ok” and disappeared to go get the manager or so I thought. I was in the front lobby waiting for a manager for what seemed to be an eternity, it was probably all of 10 minutes, but no one ever came. I’ve never formally met the owner, but I have seen him in the past. I approach a man and ask him if he’s the owner he says yes and introduces himself as Dominic. I proceed to tell him everything that had just happened, and I become emotional because of the humiliation I was forced to endure. I can’t remember the last time a stranger made me feel so terrible it brought me to tears. Dominic stated he had no idea of anything I shared, he stated it was the first time he was hearing of it and then stated he didn’t want me to pay for the service because he wants his clients to leave happy and clearly, I wasn’t happy. He asked for my name and number and said he would call me back personally. I quickly wrote my information down on a post it and left humiliated and crying.

I partially feel stupid because I gave a stranger the power to make me feel awful enough to cry which is very out of character for me. My fellow nurses out there, you know we have tough skin. Because this was so unexpected, and I was completely caught off guard it affected me the way it did. Afterall who goes to the salon to get treated this way? In life it’s not what you say it’s how you say it that makes an impact. She was cruel.

Around 45 minutes later; I get a call from Dominic. He states he spoke with Cat Erkl and got her side of the story. He stated that he didn’t charge me for the service I had received even though he should have, he stated; he wants his customers to leave happy and I clearly wasn’t happy when I left .. (I stayed quiet, but I should have reminded him that I insisted on paying for the service). He continued by advising me to not take what happened to heart and added that no one knows another individual’s personal life and he makes It a point to not involve himself in anyone private life- he stated that he had never had a problem with this stylist before and that she’s a good employee; he wishes he had 10 more of her. He stated he expressed to her that he felt blindsided by this situation and that moving forward she is to speak with him before taking matters into her own hands. He then recommended another stylist if I would choose to ever return. When I asked him what Cat Erkl said happened he stated nothing, she said “you are uptight, and she doesn’t want negativity in her life”. I gave him a sincere thanks and that was the end of the call. I appreciate the owner for trying to remain objective in solving this matter but unfortunately the damage was already done.

I feel that many could agree that the average person looks forward to a relaxing time when going to a salon for any treatment. Speaking for myself, time at the salon adds to my mental health. It’s a way to feel destressed get pampered drink some HOT coffee for a change .. you moms of littles out there know what I’m talking about …. This experience may not seem traumatizing to most but to me it was. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone and although the owner tried to handle the situation with grace ultimately stating he wishes he had 10 more employees like Cat was probably not the best choice of words especially when he witnessed how I left his salon in literal tears. As for stylist Cat Erkl, what can I say?; I’m still confused why I came off uptight and radiated negativity when I was reading my book for the better part of my time in your chair. After years of being a cosmetologist you should conduct yourself in a professional manner regardless of what may be going on in your personal life, I shouldn’t have been your outlet. You should be able to take constructive criticism, you’re in the business to help others feel and look like their best self. Shame on you for what you undeservingly put me through. I hope you’re able to take something positive from this experience and be self-aware enough to not ever make another person feel so awful.
