Michael was the best decision we could have made for the wedding! His communication was incredible. He helped us think through things that we hadn't even considered and really made the schedule as smooth as could be. He was able to accomodate for our ceremony that did not have a power source. We even had our generator go out during the reception and he didn't hesitate to keep the vibe going. He started up his battery powered speakers and many guests didn't even realize the power was out. Michael was on board with our creative song choices and made them crowd pleasers. Majority of our guests complimented the DJ choice because we had the best dance floor ever. Thank you Michael for everything!!!!! -

Michael was a terrific pick for our wedding day. We really wanted live music for the ceremony and he provides live guitar as part of his services (and he worked with us to make sure he was able to play the song I wanted for my walk down the aisle). His communication is excellent and he was very thoughtful about our music plan. Our guests were dancing until the venue kicked us out! -

Michael is amazing! He is multi-talented and completely professional. We had him play acoustic guitar as guests were arriving, he performed the song we walked down the aisle to, which he played and sang. Then switched to DJ-ing through dinner and dancing. He also Emcee'd the event. He is truly an all in one package. I gave him a list of bands we like, the genres we wanted, and a shorter list of songs to be played at specific parts of the wedding, along with a list of announcements to be made . He filled in the rest with music and additional words that everyone enjoyed. We, and he got a lot of complements on the musical score of our wedding. Everyone was on the dance floor and had a great time. His experience and talents shined. Thank you! -

Michael was an incredible musician and DJ. He played the guitar during our ceremony and it was beautiful! He was very willing to help us pick songs, or let us pick what we wanted as well!
Not only is he musically talented on the guitar, but his DJ skills are incredible. He kept the party rolling and people dancing all night long. Amazing transitions, amazing music, and amazing at listening to what we wanted!
Lastly, he was awesome at working with us on schedules for the day and making sure things were announced correctly!! I would highly recommend Michael! -

Michael was great from the first time we talked with him up to the wedding and made our wedding very special. Able to read the room and know when to get people dancing and what to play to keep them happy, its like he has a "sixth sense" about it all.
Michael kept in contact with us during our planning and wasn't overbearing at all (unlike other vendors)
So upbeat and fun, I would not hesitate to recommend him fully! -

Michael is FANTASTIC!! He had great communication during the planning process. On wedding day, he truly ran the show and kept everything on schedule during the ceremony and reception. The music selection was incredible and everyone danced all night long. The dance floor was never empty and got so many compliments throughout the night on how awesome the party was!!! We did not utilize his guitar/bagpipe talent, but I've heard it is unbelievable. Definitely recommend Michael Lancaster for your wedding music/DJ needs!!! -

If you want the wedding night to be perfect, Michael is your man! We selected Michael because my husband wanted to surprise his daughter with bagpipes but that isn't Michael's only talent. Michael is professional, organized and a great mcee! The wedding night flowed perfectly with Michael's lead and the dance floor was popping! I would highly recommend Michael for your event - with or without bagpipes. -

Michael was awesome and I would recommend him to anybody! He was very easy to work with, flexible and accommodating throughout planning, and he did a great job on our big day! He kindly learned a guitar song for us for a very reasonable fee. I can't recommend the combination of his acoustic guitar and DJ skills enough. Amazing value and awesome to have both skill sets in one person. He also MC'd our event. On the DJ side - he doesn't just press play, he was mixing songs together, doing cool transitions, and helped us have a rocking dance party that our guests still mention to me. 5-stars for sure! -

Michael is awesome!! He did an amazing job with assisting in the music at our church ceremony, and then he killed it on the dance floor! Michael is a genuine, hard worker, that anyone can get along with. He helps with the stress and takes care of everything and lets you know everything is going to be great! I have my song request to Michael and I told him I trust him and to read the room, and boy did he do that! There wasn’t one time the dance floor was empty.
Michael MC’d all the breaks party entrances, he knew when to do the speeches, qued the wedding cake, and all the other fun dances. Michael read the energy in the room and kept it. I received various compliments on our DJ and Michael deserves 5 stars. Not only did he DJ the wedding. He played his guitar during cocktail hour, and played some good Italian classics during dinner.
I can not say anything bad about Michael. If you want to have an amazing fun night, choose Michael!! -

We wanted both live music and a dj for our wedding and Michael checked both those boxes for us! It was nice to have live music for the ceremony and an easy transition to DJ for the reception. Very responsive and helpful prior to the ceremony for two years and did all we asked in terms of being our MC during the reception! -

My husband and I could not have asked for a better DJ! As a music teacher, I know that I was needier than a normal customer!
Our ceremony required live and canned music and Michael wove those together beautifully. For our cocktail hour, we asked him to play live acoustic guitar. His talent seriously elevated that event!
For our reception, I can tell you in complete honesty that our dance floor never lulled! Michael even suggested a change to the evening's order that kept things moving with a much better flow. People are still talking about our dance floor!
In short, Michael was everything you could ask for in a DJ. He was super easy to work with from the first interview to the end of the night. He is clearly an expert and yet charges a very reasonable rate. Michael was supportive and helped us problem solve as our bridal party shifted at the last minute due to Covid.
I really appreciated him and recommend him without reservation! -

Michael Lancaster was a pleasure to work with from the start. He was always quick to respond over email and very easy to communicate with. He was extremely flexible to change plans and even dates with us, since we got married during Covid-19 and our wedding plans had lots of changes. We ended up only using his services for our ceremony, as the reception was cancelled due to restrictions in place. He had great suggestions for the ceremony flow and was willing to do whatever we wanted to make the day extra special. He played guitar for us and it was beautiful! We are so pleased with his services and we wouldn’t of wanted anyone else to provide music for our special day! -

Magical Musical Wedding Wizard!!!
Michael did SO much for my wedding!!! Guitar! Bagpipes! DJ! Triple threat! WE LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT! He was our Magical Musical Wedding Wizard! Any request I had, he was game. He was always reachable and had GREAT advise / ideas. Our guests absolutely LOVED him! We LOVED him! He truly is extremely talented and a great guy! When I was looking for a DJ for my wedding, I sent an inquiry to Micheal and he didn't email me or send me a generic response. He called me that same day to explain his services and ask me how he could make our day great. Not only was I very impressed by his professionalism and how easy it was to complete a contract, but the quality of his services was OUTSTANDING. Micheal played acoustic guitar for our ceremony, including a custom rendition of "You are my Sunshine" for my walk, played bagpipes for our exit, and DJ'd our reception. He was on time and required no assistance from us. He even provided up-lighting for the ceremony space which was above and beyond what we expected. All of my guests told me over and over how great the music was and everyone was up and dancing from cocktail hour to the last song! Micheal is a true musician and a rare find. I give him my highest recommendation! -

Michael was THE BEST guitarist and DJ for our wedding reception. He was so easy to communicate with throughout the process and answered all our questions promptly. His pricing is so reasonable and he added special extra touches with lighting ,etc on our big day. We had Michael play live guitar and sing during our cocktail hour which was lovely and unique, and then he absolutely crushed it as a DJ for the reception! From announcements and keeping us on time, to playing the most fun music for our dance party - we could not have asked for more. Highly recommended!! -

Michael was amazing! We had him as our bagpiper and DJ for our wedding and he made the whole day more amazing than we could've hoped for. He was so helpful and responsive in the time leading up to the wedding and really helped set the tone for the day. Everyone we talked to afterwards was saying how wonderful he was. He had everyone out on the dance floor and having a great time! Even better, he had my family's tartan as a kilt for the ceremony. If you are in need of a bagpiper for your wedding Michael truly is amazing. -

Michael was absolutely amazing!!!!! We hired him to play the bagpipes for the wedding ceremony and also to DJ our reception.
We had a destination wedding so we really did not meet any of our vendors until the day of our wedding - Michael I met literally minutes before walking down the aisle and he played the bagpipes so beautifully!!! From there he headed over to where our reception was so he could DJ. Again, he was awesome. He kept everyone on the dance floor until it was time to close up. But what meant the most to me ~ my mother had just recently passed away and I emailed Michael requesting he play something on his guitar for her and asked for some suggestions. He ended up played Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton but not only did he play it beautifully, he sang it as well. I don't think there was a dry eye in the house. It was perfect and it meant the world to me.
I promise, you will not be disappointed in Michael. He is quick to response to all questions. He is prompt and very professional. He far exceeded our expectations and am so thankful we found him. -

Michael was our DJ and played classical guitar at our wedding. During our ceremony and during dinner Michael really set the tone by playing the guitar which was such a magical addition to our already perfect day, he was also a trooper because we were married outside with falling snow in about 20 degrees. We’ve gotten so many compliments from friends and family remarking about how talented he is playing the guitar. In addition to his live music skills he was the exact DJ we were looking for and did a great job MCing and helping keep everything on schedule! We wanted to have a DJ who would keep the dance floor full all night long and he did not disappoint. He did an amazing job of playing music for each generation that we had at our wedding. Michael was so responsive and put any worries about the wedding at ease. He provided AV equipment during the ceremony and lighting at the reception. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for live music and a stellar DJ. -

We always knew we wanted the bride to walk down the aisle to Duane Allman’s “Little Martha”, but we never thought we’d be able to find a guitarist that could recreate Duane’s singularly beautiful rendition, so we were initially resigned to playing a recording despite having a preference for live music. But then we came across Michael Lancaster in our search. From his website, Michael’s rendition more than matched Duane’s original.
We dug a little deeper to discover that Michael not only was an adept guitarist, but that, coincidentally, he had also been the bagpipe instructor to The Best Man when he was a kid growing up with the groom. So, we knew it was meant to be and booked Michael then and there for our wedding.
The pleasant surprise was just how much we appreciated Michael’s full repertoire in addition to Little Martha. He performed “Bron Yr Aur” for the rest of processional, but you could’ve been forgiven for thinking it was Jimmy Page plucking the strings (and the same goes for Eric Clapton’s “Signe” for the recessional). Then, Michael continued through the cocktail hour, song after song each more mellifluously beautiful than the last, providing the perfect ambient backdrop to the revelry we were all enjoying.
Michael’s contribution was not limited to his performance; he provided valuable technical equipment (lavalier and standing mics, speakers, etc.) that amplified both the ceremony and cocktail hour, all while helping us have one less thing to keep track of ourselves.
If you want the perfect soundtrack for your wedding, hiring Michael Lancaster is our highest recommendation.

Andrew Sent on 10/11/2018Michael was a fantastic person to have as a part of our wedding. It was so nice to have a one stop shop for all our musical needs. He provided the sound for our outdoor ceremony and played guitar. He had music set and ready to go for our cocktail hour and he did a wonderful job DJing the night away, all our guests had a blast dancing to the music. AND he played bagpipes as we marched from the ceremony to the reception hall. It was an amazing site to see all our friends and family walk behind us as we proceeded together as husband and wife. We had a pretty awesome wedding but Michael made it that much better.

We didn't actually get Michael we had Alex do our wedding. The bagpipes really set the scene for our handfast wedding ceremony. I was obviously late like most brides and he kept playing the prelude song every 10 minutes till we walked over. It made the ceremony seem almost surreal. If you want something different and enchanting in your ceremony this is the guy for the job. I can't speak on dj part as Alex doesn't dj and Michael had a family matter to attend to. But let us know like 8 months advanced so we had plenty of time to find another dj for the reception -
