We could not have had a more perfect October wedding day and that is due almost entirely to Meryl and the team at Bacchus. The process of working with Bacchus from booking all the way through execution was incredibly smooth, accommodating, and generous. The value for what we ultimately spent was above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. We had a handful of very specific food allergies the Bacchus handled beautifully, and the space was stunning and charming. We are still getting friends telling us how much fun they had and that our wedding was one of the best they’ve ever been to. We had 105 guests in attendance, and the space didn’t feel cramped at all, and we had plenty of room to dance. We also brought in a DIY Photo Booth, and we brought in our own flowers for Bacchus’ existing bud vases. The only extra decor we provided were our paper goods like name cards menus and framed bar signage (although Bacchus will print them for you, I just had a specific look and paper I wanted to design on, and I provided frames) tapered candles and hurricane vases. Bacchus provided votives for smaller candles. Everyone warns brides about “post wedding depression/regret” but if I could do it all again, I wouldn’t change a single thing. Bacchus treats you like family. The owner of the restaurant, Bruno, gave us our first tour, the wedding and event coordinator Meryl helped us to plan every detail of an all-inclusive wedding and we were beyond satisfied every step of the way. Likewise, Meryl and her staff were responsive, kind, understanding, and patient with our persistent communication and innumerable questions. Holding to French tradition - they offered incomparable food and drink options, including options for vegan guests, and offered a variety of ways to reach the food and beverage minimum, like additional desserts and wine pairings.
On our wedding day, Meryl and her team were at our sides when we needed them and taking care of everything else such as setting up our unconventional guest book, and ensuring that we kept on pace with our wedding day schedule so we didn’t worry about it.
Bacchus Bistro offers unparalleled value, incredible familial service, and a neighborhood or backyard ambiance that made it an easy choice for my wife and I. Their food and drinks are truly incredible, change seasonally, and will always leave you dreaming for the next time you can return.
We have a special place in our hearts for Bacchus. So much so that when we returned a year later to celebrate our anniversary, Meryl and Francois greeted us by name, wished us a happy anniversary, and helped us to celebrate even while they were hosting another wedding. -

From the very beginning, we knew we were in great hands with Meryl and the team at Bacchus. They were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. They answered all our questions and made planning our 80-person wedding feel totally stress-free.
On the day-of, everything was perfect, Our guests are still raving about it weeks later —it was genuinely that good. And not your typical wedding fare at all. The wine selections were also amazing (thank you Khaza). Everything was paired and plated so well. The service from the whole team was also flawless throughout the evening. Meryl was amazing at making everything run as smooth as butter. She even planned out a weather contingency for dining which turned out incredibly fortunate.
We couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate our big day. Huge thanks to Meryl, Khaza, and the entire Bacchus team for making our wedding so perfect.
We’ll definitely be back for many future date nights, and would recommend Bacchus for any and all special occasion dinners and events, weddings and otherwise. You couldn’t ask for a better team and space! -

Bacchus was a godsend. Planning a 150-person wedding in under a year and without any help didn't seem possible at first. But Meryl and her team have a knack for making the impossible a reality that exceeds expectations.
Bacchus truly has it all — a magical indoor and outdoor space with plenty of nooks and crannies for guests to choose-their-own adventure, from intimate conversations to tearing up the dance floor (which was packed the entire time). Our ceremony had a lot of specific needs and Meryl accommodated them all without batting an eye. The food and drinks were fabulous: we had Indian appetizers catered while Bacchus handled additional apps, mains, and desserts, all of which our guests are still raving about. We were a bit worried about having a beer-and-wine wedding, but they even allowed us to supply our own liquor and mixers so guests could enjoy 2 fully stocked bars all night (this saved us a fortune, even with top-shelf everything.)
A few tips for future Bacchus brides/grooms/spouses-to-be: dim the lights in the side rooms to preserve the ambiance, opt for passed-desserts so no one misses out on that crème brûlée, and use that gorgeous tree in the garden as your arch/alter/mandap/chuppah/what have you. You won't regret a thing. -

Can't say enough wonderful things about our wedding experience at Bacchus! We planned our wedding swiftly in only 4 months, and the entire team at Bacchus made the whole process very easy and straight-forward. The coordinator Meryl gave us a walk-thru of the space on our first visit and continued to communicate with us via email very promptly and thoroughly throughout the entire process.
We chose Bacchus because we wanted a restaurant that could accommodate a medium-sized party, and luckily for us they had availability and very reasonable rates for our winter wedding. We requested cocktail-style food service instead of sit-down dinner, and the food and wine selections were amazing. We especially enjoyed getting to sample all of the selections and wine pairings a few weeks before the wedding, and we felt that they truly catered to what we wanted. We utilized the backyard space for the ceremony and truly lucked out with it being an unexpectedly warm December day with lots of sunshine. We didn't need to bring in much decor because Bacchus already had such a lovely aesthetic throughout the restaurant. Being a couple who wanted a low-fuss, simple, all-in-one place experience for our wedding, Bacchus provided the perfect vibe with a focus on great food, wine, and a beautiful environment for our guests to mingle freely.
Day of Meryl and the staff assembled flower vases and provided candles, tablecloths, etc. They were even able to accommodate our request to start at 3pm even though it was between their brunch and dinner service, and they moved swiftly to arrange everything very seamlessly in time for the wedding to start. Our guests all had wonderful things to say about the service throughout the entire event.
Our wedding experience at Bacchus was exactly what we were looking for, and we look forward to dining there for years to come. -

My now husband and I were first going to have a small elopement ceremony but then decided we wanted to have a bigger celebration with family and friends. Bacchus caught our eye due to the stellar reviews, food options and reasonable pricing for Brooklyn. We reached out to Bacchus in October and was able to plan our wedding for December 20th. Meryl was an absolute delight to work with. We live out of state but Meryl made the planning so easy and was so quick to respond to any questions we had. Our guests keep raving about the food and what a different and beautiful experience it was for a wedding party. We are so grateful to Meryl, the chef and incredible staff for making out night so beautiful! Bacchus will forever have a special place in our hearts. -

Bacchus is the best venue to have an amazing, intimate Brooklyn wedding! My husband and I got married here on 10/4/24 and everything turned out wonderful, better than I could have ever dreamed. When looking for wedding venues, Bacchus was the first place I went to see and the search was over after that. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy, charming, & full of character with an inviting outdoor garden.
Meryl, the event coordinator, is not only professional and incredible at her job but she is also kind, warm, calm, and collected. She was so responsive throughout the entire wedding planning process, recommended excellent vendors for music & photos- that we used and were also great choices! Thanks to her suggestions, expertise, and her talent, she coordinated everything on the day of perfectly. She made the day completely stress-free for us. We are truly grateful for her and all of the staff at Bacchus who made our special day as lovely as it was. The staff members are knowledgeable, kind, and work so well together as a team- always making us and our guests feel comfortable. The love and care the team has for this restaurant speaks volumes to the specialness of Bacchus.
We had 60 people at our wedding and rented the two gardens & the bistro. Plenty of space for all our guests to enjoy our ceremony, amuse bouche, an incredible 4 course dinner with great wine selections, and a night of dancing! We got married on a beautiful, sunny day but rain or shine Bacchus is prepared with awnings to cover their garden areas! Our family & friends had a great time and raved over the food & intimacy of the wedding. My husband & I were initially going to elope, but we are so thankful we chose Bacchus who created one of the most memorable days of our lives. Looking forward to anniversary dinners & "just because" brunches and dinners there for years to come!

a cozy, dreamy wedding venue
We held our ceremony and reception at Bacchus for our intimate (70 person) wedding back in April - and my husband and I (along with our guests) had a wonderful experience.
Our planning period was around 6-7 months, and the whole process was fairly easy and low-key. I researched other restaurants/venues in Brooklyn, and it was the most affordable/had the best value out of all the options we looked into.
We met with Meryl (the Bacchus coordinator) a few times and she was great to work with. We went in for a tasting, and the food was incredible.
On the day of, the weather was unexpectedly awful and extremely windy, and Meryl and the Bacchus crew were able to seamlessly adjust the seating last minute.
The venue itself is lovely, so we didn't have to do much for decorations and just ordered flowers for the tables. The wine bar section just got renovated literally a day or two before our wedding - and it was beautiful!
We highly recommend Bacchus as a wedding venue!! -

We couldn't have dreamed a better place to get married. We, big-event neophytes with questionable abilities, were in such good hands with Meryl, who was calm, kind, knowledgeable, flexible, and responsive as the wedding took shape over time. She was an enormous help—she put us in contact with all kinds of vendors (flowers, photographer), she helped us with the seating, the menu, the printing of table lists, etc etc etc, all those things you do not (I hope) think of when you propose to each other.
The space? Beautiful, spacious, flexible in all weathers. For us it drizzled; it did not matter. The awnings are great and create an intimate vibe. Didn't even notice them. The space is flexible, has a lot of room for different permutations.
The service? Perfect! Meryl and the team made everyone feel at home. Khaza, wine master and charmer, was a delight to work with.
The food? Fabulous. Everyone loved it, said it was among the better wedding food they'd ever had. People keep talking about it. Trust Guillaume. He is the real deal.

This place is absolute gold! My now-husband and I had our wedding here in September. The whole thing was incredibly last minute, as we had to suddenly switch venues due to space issues. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Our wedding, on a Friday during the day, for around 75 people, was such a lovely experience.
Even though we were working with a deadline of less than two months (!!) everything turned out perfectly, if not better than expected.
Meryl, the events manager, is incredible. She jumped on everything immediately -- providing a contract, menu options, seating chart information. The whole planning process was so easy and seamless. She and her staff have thought of everything already, so all we had to do was communicate our preferences.
Some of our event required a little prep onsite the day before (we had a freestanding chuppah that needed to be set up and decorated), and not only did they accommodate us being there the day before to do that, the staff moved the structure the morning of the ceremony and accommodated storage during the remainder of the event. I ordered bulk flowers for delivery the day before and the staff prepared them and supplied the bud vases for the table, saving my friend and me lots of time. Sound system is great, including an available mic for the ceremony and speeches. While a DJ is always nice, it doesn't feel necessary at this venue if you prepare a great playlist. Meryl will make sure the music is timed as it should be.
The setup for the ceremony is just so stunning with the cafe chairs, greenery and string lights.
The food is really excellent. I don't know how their kitchen manages to get out a perfectly timed, muti-course, high-quality meal to so many people. It is really impressive and our guests couldn't stop raving about the food.
I think Bacchus is so great for weddings because of the professional dedicated staff, but also, because they have smartly set up their restaurant and outdoor spaces with ample flexibility that allows couples to personalize their event without working too hard to do so.
Anyone looking for an intimate, elegant, delicious, affordable, and beautiful wedding in Brooklyn need not look any further. I wish I could do it all over again! Thanks again to Meryl and her staff, for one of the best days of my life! -

We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Bacchus Bistro, and would choose them a thousand times over. We were initially interested in Bacchus because they have an awesome outdoor garden area that has a roof (and optional clear sides) AND the space still feels very outdoorsy, so that in case it rains and/or is windy, you can still use the space and have the garden-vibe. We did a ton of research and honestly couldn't find any other places in Brooklyn that had an outdoor area with a roof in case it rained but that also still felt outdoorsy. Guests kept telling us how nice the space was. But given the temperature was in the high 50s, we only did drinks in the outdoor space, and we had the dinner in the private dining room. Guests were raaaaaaaving about the food. Seriously, flawless food. Tuna tartar, roasted eggplant, hanger steak, salmon, lasagna-- all perfect!!!!! Every single dish was a 10/10. This was no surprise because, when my partner and I got dinner here before, our meals were also amazing, but we were so happy hearing everyone else complimenting Bacchus on the food too. We feel like Bacchus is a small hidden gem in Brooklyn, not super well known, but has incredible food, space, and vibes that make it deserve way more hype/recognition than it gets. Meryl was also a pleasure to work with. SO easy to work with, very meticulous and on-top of things, and super easy to communicate with in the months/weeks leading up to the dinner.
Awesome, unique space and literally flawless food, couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you so, so much Meryl and team!!!! We will be back again and again!! -

I would 100% choose Bacchus if I had to do my wedding all over again :). We did a full buyout in March of 2024. Guests raved about the food. I loved how intimate it could feel for 60 guests. The ceremony was planned for outdoors under the covered patio and it still happened despite just straight downpour. It still had party vibes after dinner with a dj. Meryl and staff were attentive to guests. I never felt like the vendor was trying to hide prices or trick into hidden fees, which just made everything feel so open and I could communicate questions/concerns with Meryl. It was all so great. -

Best Wedding!
We held our wedding at Bacchus in June 2024. It was perfect - everything I could’ve dreamed of! I found Bacchus when looking for a more affordable venue in NYC - with Bacchus, you really get a good bang for your buck! We rented the entire restaurant out for our ceremony and reception. We had 100 guests with a live band. Bacchus is such a beautiful space on its own - we provided a minimal amount of flowers but we didn’t need much else as it shines on its own! Meryl was so helpful leading up to the wedding, and day of was a huge assist. There was a slight chance of rain, but she helped arrange the seating so that everyone could still be in the same area. She even helped me zipper my outfit at one point! The food was incredible - many people told me it was the best food at a wedding they’ve ever had! The service was impeccable, too - the servers moved seamlessly in and out during speeches and no one’s wine glass was ever empty! The reception after dinner was a blast - it felt like a fun, intimate house party. The only bummer was that the night ended! I would highly recommend hosting any event here. -

5 stars! Beautiful, high quality, professional and affordable.
We cannot express enough how ecstatic we were with Bacchus hosting our wedding. This was the absolute best decision we could have made. Not only were they extremely affordable with highly competitive pricing for the area, but the quality of the food, treatment, service and venue was unbeatable. Our dream Brooklyn wedding was made a reality (in only 8 months!) because of Bacchus.
The staff were phenomenal and went above and beyond. Each and every one of them. They were completely hands on every step of the way and covered every detail, even the ones we didn’t think of. Our decor was assembled and put up for us. All the drinks we wanted were served. Every allergy (and there were many) was perfectly accommodated. The wine selection was top tier! Thank you, Kaza! And the food!! Wow! Chef’s kiss. Our guests continue to talk about it to this day.
The space is so minimalistic, beautiful and rustic. Very little needed to be added to complete our vision. We were even supplied with a beautiful cage for our cards so we did not have to buy our own. My guests were so well taken care. WE were so well taken care of! They were with us every step of the way and with the best and kindest attitudes, it’s almost hard to believe.
A very special thank you to Meryl for her leadership, kindness, attention to detail and cool control. Her support was truly priceless and allowed us to just be present on our special day. We could not recommend Bacchus more. Truly. A million thanks and a lifetime of memories made. We’ve shared some of our favorite pictures to reflect our deep gratitude.

We did a buyout of Bacchus's wine room (for cocktail hour) and dining room (for dinner) to celebrate our elopement with our friends and family. It was an intimate affair with only 37 of us dining that evening and was an absolutely perfect evening, from the food, the drinks, the coordination, music and more. Meryl, who worked with us to plan our event, was incredible and made our vision for the evening come true.
Planning & Coordination: Meryl was fantastic. She was attentive in talking through our plans for the evening and flexible with accommodating any special asks for the evening to really make the event special for our guests. She was especially helpful in figuring out the right seating arrangement for our guests to ensure that the room felt connected and cohesive. Communication was so easy and all the final planning in the days leading up to the event was done so effortlessly that when the day came, there was nothing to worry about. We were able to enjoy the evening with our guests.
Food: Excellent. Our guests LOVED the food. We served the meal family style so everyone had a little bit of everything. We have friends that are saying they'll go back for dinner soon.
Staff: The staff was amazing, they were attentive and well-coordinated. Everything flowed so well.
Atmosphere: It was a really sweet, intimate, romantic evening. We had lots of candles everywhere (both supplied by myself and Bacchus) and it made the room look so beautiful.
If you ever need to host an intimate dinner in Brooklyn, I highly recommend inquiring with Bacchus. Or if you just want to have a delicious dinner (or brunch), definitely go too! I cannot wait to go back.

Bacchus is incredible!
We had our wedding at Bacchus and cannot recommend the venue and the entire team highly enough! The venue was beautiful and worked perfectly for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Meryl, the event coordinator, was amazing to work with-- very experienced, helpful and responsive. Khaza, the sommelier, helped us choose the wines and even had a call with us a month or so before the wedding to go over everything. The food was delicious and the service was flawless, including specially dealing with food allergies in a way that put our mind at our ease. The bartenders were great during the reception. We are so thankful that we had our wedding at Bacchus and love everyone that helped pull it off! -

The Perfect Place for a rehearsal dinner in Brooklyn
We held the rehearsal dinner for my son and his fiance on May 19th at Bacchus restaurant. We live in Virginia, but Meryl at Bacchus made the planning and execution of the event seamless. The wedding was at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens so we wanted a venue in Brooklyn that could accommodate up to 45 people. Bacchus fit our needs. We could not have been happier with our choice. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I highly recommend Bacchus for a rehearsal dinner or a wedding venue. -

Bacchus hosted our August 2021 rehearsal dinner, and we could not be happier with how things went. Meryl and Bruno know exactly what they’re doing, and the event went perfectly—the food was fantastic, the garden was beautiful, the waiters were very attentive (no empty wine glasses!), and they were incredibly accommodating with our various last-minute requests and questions. They also did a wonderful job setting up the space; the lights and draping in the back garden felt magical, and they set up the flowers, linens, and decorations beautifully.

I lived around the corner from Bacchus for five years and it was always my favorite restaurant, one of the first spots I took my (now) husband to. We were struggling to find a venue that felt "us," until one night we walked past Bacchus and saw a wedding was taking place in the beautiful back garden. My then-fiancé and I had the same thought at the same time, so we did our research and set up time with Meryl. We immediately knew we'd be in good hands. The entire Bacchus team is wonderful -- friendly, accommodating and responsive. They have you do your tasting BEFORE you sign the contract - because they are one of the few venues that take pride in their food. Tom and I had eaten so many lackluster wedding meals, so this was important to us and they delivered. Countless guests told us it was the best wedding meal they've ever had. The location was beautiful -- allowing us to have our dream "backyard wedding in Brooklyn". It glows with fairy lights and the gorgeous tree that's the focal point of the garden. We were able to comfortably fit all 120 of our guests in the 2 adjacent gardens for both the seated ceremony and dinner. Then we migrated into the restaurant for our reception/dance party. Bacchus let us stay dancing until 1am! It really was the perfect night, made so special because of the Bacchus staff. If you want proof of the staff's excellence, ask to borrow my wedding videos -- subtly in the background, you'll see Meryl and Alvaro swooping in to ensure our day was perfect: fluffing the train on my dress as I walked by, adjusting a tree branch to not interfere with our best man's head, keeping the wine glasses full. We wanted an intimate, elegant and festive summer wedding and Bacchus provided that and more! It's so rare to find outdoor NYC venues that match your vision and Bacchus went above & beyond our expectations. Three key highlights include location, food and service.
Location: Elegant, cozy and minimalist decor with a friendly and casual sophistication. It's a perfect mix of city and nature for out of town guests (and locals). Also, the venue is easily accessible with street parking and public transportation nearby.
Food: We received glowing reviews from our guests about the food, drink and dessert menu! Thanks to Bacchus for working with us to customize a brunch menu that was allergy-friendly and tasty.
Service: Meryl and the entire Bacchus team provided excellent support and made the day run so smoothly. Big shout out to Meryl, who makes the Bacchus magic happen. She is highly professional, very organized and extremely talented in planning special events. Meryl was very responsive to emails and provided timely updates/feedback/ideas throughout our discussions. She was such a joy to work with and is the reason why we decided to work with Bacchus.

We had our wedding recently at Bacchus and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Meryl, Bruno, and the entire team exemplified professionalism and hospitality. The backyard is so beautiful and looked like a string light dream land for our reception. Getting married under that big tree was heaven. The whole wedding was intimate, laid back, romantic, and exactly what we wanted. Meryl and Bacchus handled everything--from decorating to coordination with vendors, etc. I didn't need to do a thing the day of except show up. Above all else (and most importantly) the food was insanely good. I want everyone to have the wonderful experience we did and get married there. -

We loved Bacchus! From start to finish, Meryl and the team made sure we were well taken care of. We had the opportunity to try many of the menu items, and chose wine to accompany them. They are extremely responsive via email, and helped us plan out the whole day. We had around 75 people attend, but the venue can hold up to 120 (ish). Multiple guests said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding (or ever had in their lives! in some cases). Just fabulous! I highly recommend them. -

Sarah Sent on 11/02/2017Having our wedding at Bacchus Bistro was a perfect, magical experience. It was perfect for us because of who we uniquely are and wanted. We wanted an intimate, comfortable, and heartfelt wedding with a touch of nature (the garden and that magical tree), great food & wine (try the hanger steak, gnocchi and pumpkin soup!), and warm, courteous service. Bacchus had all of this. The wedding coordinator Meryl and head chef Alvaro were gracious and very knowledgeable hosts. We knew and trusted we were in the hands of professionals. We can go on and on about this venue. it is a special place, and a local treasure.

Erica Sent on 10/29/2017My husband and I got married at Bacchus in May 2017. Prior to planning our wedding, we had been to Bacchus for dinner and brunch, always having a wonderful experience. After beginning our wedding planning, Bacchus was an easy choice for our wedding venue. We loved that Bacchus was able to accommodate a smaller wedding (we had around 60 guests), we were also excited about the ability to have our ceremony and dinner reception in the back garden.
Throughout the year before our wedding, we were in constant contact with Meryl, an incredible person and resource, who really helped bring all of the details of our wedding together. We had a wonderful food tasting followed by an equally wonderful wine tasting a couple months before our wedding. Meryl stayed in constant contact with us throughout these months, ensuring that everything was coming together smoothly. As our wedding date approached and we had our last meeting at Bacchus we knew without a doubt that we were in incredibly great hands.
Our wedding day was beautiful and came together perfectly. This was largely due to Meryl and the incredible team at Bacchus. We received constant compliments throughout the evening on pretty much everything Bacchus had to offer including the passed hors d'oeuvre, entrees, wine and dessert. My husband created dinner and after dinner playlists and we were able to easily connect to the sound system at Bacchus, and the music during dinner sounded great. The garden is beautiful, so we did not really add much as far as decor, just simple centerpieces that we dropped off the night before and Meryl's team set up for us. At around 10 pm, our party transitioned inside to the wine bar where we were able to continue having a great time. The Bacchus team even brought in the remaining cupcakes on the cupcake tower for our guests to enjoy.

Best Kept Secret for a Brooklyn Wedding
We had our wedding reception for ~50 guests at Bacchus in September 2022 and could not be more happy with the evening. When wedding planning we were looking for a space that was outside to minimize covid risk, had good food, allowed a DJ/dancing, wouldn't require a ton of planning on our end, and wasn't outrageously expensive -- a laughably impossible task in Brooklyn until we found Bacchus. The garden at Bacchus is pretty at first sight but when you see it glowing and set up for a wedding it is truly stunning. Our wedding celebration was pure magic and our guests continue to rave to us about the night, the food, and how much fun they had. Meryl and Bruno are a dream team and have done countless weddings. Meryl made it easy for us to scale things up and down as we saw fit. She and her staff followed our requests seamlessly and set up the decor that we brought in (e.g., candles, lanterns, flowers) exactly as we asked saving us the expense of bringing in an outside vendor to set up. No task we brought to Meryl was too big or too small and everything about the evening went smoothly -- there was no need for us to bring in a wedding planner or even day of coordinator (however, we didn't have a ceremony so our event didn't need too much coordination). The staff is wonderful, attentive, and truly cares about carrying out a beautiful event. We are eternally grateful that we found Bacchus. -
