We had been to four weddings that year and every gallery looked the same — bright, flat, sort of weightless. Ours does not. There is actual depth and shadow in these, a warmth in the skin tones, and the reception frames have this grain to them that makes the whole night feel like something we remember rather than something we scrolled past. We have prints from it in three rooms of the house, and guests still stop at the one from the last dance and ask who shot it.Read less

I Was Wrong
I’ll be honest, I thought this was the line item we’d overspend on. I had opinions about that going in, and I kept them to myself for about six months. What changed my mind wasn’t the gallery, it was the day itself: nobody moved me around, nobody made the groomsmen do anything, and I genuinely lost track of when he was working. Then the photos came back and there’s one of my dad watching the ceremony from the second row that I’ve looked at more times than I’d admit. I was wrong about the line item.

Love Love LOVE our photos
We were the two most camera-shy people at our own wedding. Somewhere around the first look that stopped mattering, there was no posing, no long setups, just someone quietly working around us.
