Shelly created the most beautiful arrangements for our wedding. She perfectly encapsulated my vision and used her creativity and expertise to execute flawlessly! Shelly was responsive, sweet, and an overall joy to work with! I did not have specific wedding colors, but had a combination of colors in mind and she brought it to life with her beautiful arrangements. Our arrangements varied in size which she thoughtfully placed around our venue. She was always prompt and prepared for our meetings and for the big day! I cannot recommend Shelly and B Floral Event Design enough.

The florals for the wedding were SPECTACULAR! I couldn't believe how beautiful the church and reception looked! She was able to make flower arch for the doorway that was so glamorous, and I loved the beauty and fun it added to our reception. It was truly perfect!!

Cannot recommend B Floral enough. Shelly did an amazing job taking my vision board and bringing it to life. She does an amazing job with taking any feedback, tweaks or alterations and making those changes. You can tell she really cares that the couple loves the end product. Outstanding Wedding Florist
We used B Floral Event Design for my daughters wedding and we were so impressed with the stunning flowers at the reception. We had two large Kings Tables and 15 round tables, they were all so beautiful in addition to the bride’s boutique and the bridesmaids. Shelly was consultative when I talked to her initially about the floral plan, and she was flexible and receptive to my creative vision and perhaps weird asks like including citrus on the table to complement the flowers. Shelly was great to work with and made great suggestions to stay within our budget. The reception centerpieces were stunning and they impromptu adjusted a centerpiece for our last-minute sweetheart table that was beautiful. From booking through design through day-of execution, she was there every step of the way with wonderful suggestions but also an open mind. I was a pandemic bride, so we didn't get to meet in-person to review samples; but Shelly took every single picture and idea we ever exchanged and made it come to life! Shelly was recommended to me by a friend—and I have never been more grateful for a recommendation in my life! Shelly was beyond amazing.
While planning for my wedding, I had no idea what flowers would cost, or what I was comfortable spending. She was so helpful, and never once did I feel pressured into anything. When we first met to talk about what I thought we wanted for our wedding, Shelly asked me what kinds of flowers I liked, and colors. She showed me some of her work, and then said she would put a quote together for me. She was so easy to work with, and incredibly flexible while we were planning, making suggestions and helping to make the flowers OUR flowers. Don't think twice - hire B Floral Event Design
I hired B. Florals Event Design to do the flowers for our wedding and have no regrets! Shelly is absolutely fabulous to work with and has impeccable taste. After talking with several other floral designers in the DC area, I found her prices to be similar, however, as of this review, Shelly doesn’t have a set minimum. The latter was wonderful news since we weren’t having a bridal party. After meeting with Shelly and seeing more of her designs, I knew I wanted to work with her. Shelly took the time to listen to my ideas and help bring my vision to life seamlessly all the while staying within our budget. She was very professional and quick to respond to any of my questions. My only request was for bright, bold flowers with interesting texture, and Shelly designed exactly that. Shelly attended our walk-through one month prior to our wedding, which I truly appreciated because I wanted to add a floral design down the staircase. Shelly was more than happy to do this. The day of the wedding the flowers were delivered and set up on time, which was great because my husband and I were doing a first look elsewhere. I have a few friends who are flower fanatics so are centerpieces did not go to waste and were taken home. Shelly’s attention to detail and unmatched expertise in aesthetics will never disappoint. Shelly is AMAZING!! She is truly an artist and goes above and beyond for her clients. We used her services for our recent summer 2019 wedding, and honestly we feel lucky to have found such an amazing florist who made the decor part of the wedding absolutely seamless. We had originally talked to 6 very reputable/popular florists in the DMV and our experience with these other florists was that some were non-responsive (like we had to email several times to follow up!), some had a minimum (as of this review, Shelly did not), some gave us a proposal TWICE the amount of our budget (this happened 2x!). It was honestly exhausting! However, working with Shelly was seamless. She met us late in the evening near our place of work for the first mtg and she really sticks to your budget! At one point she even took off 300$ worth of merchandise b/c she didn’t think some of the stuff we had asked for was necessary - she is not the typical salesman who tries to push you to buy everything- rather, she truly wants your event to look as aesthetically pleasing as possible (even if it means taking off 300$ worth of merchandise because she thought it looked too crowded). Her florals are beautiful, and she also has stunning rentals, including large candelabras that are just beautiful. She is extremely responsive via email (10/10 on the organizational front). Shelly was recommended to us by another couple, who used her services again recently for another event. We cannot wait for our next event so that we can work with her again! We got married at a downtown DC hotel, and even our very seasoned hotel coordinator (who has likely worked with hundreds of florists in the DMV area) had so many compliments about Shelly, including “she’s going to the top of our list.” We recommended her to another friend for their winter wedding, and Shelly was booked already. Honestly, shopping for vendors is exhausting (especially when you both work full time)- save yourself some time and energy - if you want an easy, talented, reliable, honest, organized florist to work with, book her ASAP!

Shelly was absolutely fantastic to work with! I didn't have a firm idea of what I wanted, so we came to the first meeting with just some colors and general photos. She met us at her warehouse and showed us photos of arrangements she'd done in the past, pulled things off of the shelves around us to give us a better idea of what our options were, and knew our venue so well she even recommended some other things. I never had to worry about checking in with Shelly to make sure everything was alright -- she was reaching out at regular intervals to remind me of what the next steps were. On our wedding day the flowers were beautiful, and she delivered to both my hotel room and the venue without a problem and at exactly the time I asked. Of all the things I worried about leading up to the wedding, B Floral Event Design was never one of them.

Shelly and B Floral was recommended to me by our coordinator, Caroline Dutton, and after our meeting to discuss the day, I didn't need to talk to anyone else. Shelly understood what I wanted and was able to make modifications to a few items to fit the ceremony space.
One thing I wanted to incorporate, which aren't usually associated with weddings, were pussy willows and Shelly knocked it out of the park. There were pussy willows throughout the arrangements, which gave texture and warmth to everything, and they were the feature on the cocktail tables - I loved it.
Flowers were one of the things where I was nervous about the cost vs. value add, but not only did I feel shelly was 100% reasonably in her pricing, her designs also really added to the day.

Shelly is a wonderful floral design artist and her work is worth every single penny! Our first meeting was so fun and sweet, and she really went above and beyond in helping to give my vision some executable legs and then bringing it to beautiful fruition. During our first meeting she brought a few photo books for me to see if there was anything specific that I gravitated towards, and we went through my (extensive :)) wedding Pinterest, from which she identified some common trends we could work with. Shelly made amazing suggestions and really pulled together a cohesive floral suite for the whole day. One of the best parts was designing together the parents', groom's, and bride's flowers in a way that emphasized the new connections among us all -- Shelly was a dream at helping me keep our flowers connected to the spirit of our marriage. Plus, the arrangements themselves were simply stunning. She put together three 'looks' to correspond to our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner reception that were distinct yet unified, and I still swoon over my gorgeous bouquet. Shelly was also very flexible in accommodating last minute questions and changes, always sending over a new invoice/contract sheet as soon as new decisions were made. Anytime I'm in need of a floral arrangement and/or design expertise, I will go straight to her (and pray that she's available). Can't recommend B. Floral enough for excellent work and great service!

I have to be honest, florals were pretty much last on our list of priorities for our wedding and I struggled to find a vendor whose work I liked that would work with our budget. Most of the florists I looked at had a minimum requirement of $3000 and my husband and I were not prepared to spend that as a minimum on flowers. Shelly could have easily turned us away when we presented her with an embarrassingly low budget, but she did not! She presented us a proposal that fit in our budget, but after talking to her we decided to increase our floral budget since we truly loved her work. I am so glad we did, and if I could do it again I probably would've spent a little more just because her work is so beautiful and when else do you have the opportunity to buy so many flower arrangements? If I ever have any sort of event again, I will definitely book Shelly to handle the florals. Flower arranging is a true art and she has an amazing eye for creating floral masterpieces. My husband and I got married at the Park Hyatt in Washington, DC this past November and Shelly played a HUGE role in making our wedding such a beautiful and memorable event. Shelly was an absolute pleasure to work with, and truly went above and beyond during our planning calls and meetings, even bringing samples of flowers to help give me a better idea of what I might like. Before our initial meeting she asked for a link to my "Pinterest" account so when we met she already had an idea of what type of florals I was drawn to. From there, Shelly was so gracious as she would adapt when we added groomsmen, or tables, or anything else leading up to the wedding. She delivered the flowers and bouquets right on time the day of our wedding and they were stunning. Everything was even better than the sample arrangements she had shown me weeks prior. I was overwhelmed with all my wedding planning details and really just wanted a florist who could help me choose something beautiful without making me feel over my head. Shelly did all that and more! First off, when we met for the first time she came to a coffeeshop near my office, which was a HUGE plus for me, since I work long hours and couldn't take much time off mid-day to meet wedding vendors.

She listened carefully to my general vision for our wedding day, and made fantastic, creative recommendations (such as gold-painted succulents, which are now happily living in our home!). I had my heart set on creating our own diy-bottle vases, which she happily accommodated (and even filled directly at the reception venue--so appreciated in that hectic week prior to wedding day!). She was also very accommodating as we may slight tweaks to our original floral count and added extra drop-off locations. B Floral Event Design was recommend to us by our month of coordinator because picking flowers were on the bottom of my list of things I was looking forward to. After meeting with Shelly, flowers quickly moved to the top of my list and I could not wait to see them on my wedding day. Shelly was wonderful to work with from the first meeting. She brought a bunch of books for me too look over and had me look at every single one. She never made me feel rushed and was never put out any time I changed my mind. During the time leading up to the wedding, whenever I emailed Shelly she responded to me within that day. I couldn't have been more pleased and happy with Shelly and her work and would recommend her 100 times over.

Shelly is absolutely amazing! She is so kind, so helpful, and an absolute genius with floral arrangements! My flowers turned out better than I could have ever imagined. Booking B Floral Event Design was one of the best decisions I made during the wedding planning process. Shelly was extremely kind and professional. She was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns via email. I also appreciate her setting up the prospect in-person meeting so we could discuss my vision in person. Shelly is one of a kind. She was flexible with my budget and got my vision immediately.
She was prompt showing up to the venue to set up the flowers and deliver the bridal party flowers as well. She did an amazing job! All of my guests kept complimenting how beautiful the bouquets and centerpieces looked. She came up with a unique idea for the escort card table, which included hanging skeleton keys from the centerpiece. It looked beautiful and on point with my vintage/whimsical theme!
I can't thank Shelly enough for providing us with the most beautiful floral decor. I highly recommend!

Shelly was a dream to work with. In addition to being very friendly and invested, she was extremely responsive to any questions or comments I had, in fact, probably the most responsive of all of my wedding vendors. For a flower novice, I was nervous that my lack of floral knowledge would make creating bouquets and center pieces difficult. Shelly took my vague ideas and pictures, and turned my floral arrangement into creations more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. I hadn't budgeted too much for flowers, but Shelly was able to work within my budget to make sure I had all the pieces we had discussed. I HIGHLY recommend Shelly, and will be using her for any future events.

Shelly was an absolute joy to work with! The flowers for my wedding were more perfect than the pinterest board I shared with her at our first meeting. She has incredible ideas that she brings to life with flawless execution. I could not have asked for a more beautiful chuppah, bridal bouquet or centerpieces. The piece she made for the escort card table was incredibly unique and breathtaking.
I highly recommend Shelly for your next event. I know she will be doing both of my sister's weddings in the future!

Shelly was so great to work with! I used her for my bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and centerpieces and absolutely loved all of it! I wanted centerpieces that were a bit different than any of the pictures or examples she had and when I saw them at the reception, they were exactly what I was imagining! The flowers I picked for my wedding were very simple, but I was very happy with them. More important to me though, was the quality of service I got from Shelly! For our initial consultation, she offered to meet me close to my office during my lunch break, which was so helpful since my weekends were packed with other wedding stuff. After she sent the first proposal, I really felt like she understood exactly what I wanted my arrangements to look like. She also stayed within my budget. This was the fourth florist I had met with, and Shelly was the only one to respect the budget limit! During the planning process, she was very responsive to my emails, and very patient with me as I made several changes to the contract in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

I loved working with Shelly on the personal flowers for my wedding! She was the one vendor I spoke with who really talked with me and listened to the type of wedding I was having. She was always very responsive to any questions I had and responded very quickly to phone calls and e-mails. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and very reasonably priced. I couldn't have picked a better person!

Shelly did the flowers for our wedding on November 22, 2014 at the Key Bridge Marriott, and she was fantastic. She was really responsive and flexible - we underestimated the number of centerpieces we needed, and she was able to add another one on fairly short notice. My bouquet was exactly what I wanted - really beautiful orange calla lilies and roses. I can not recommend her highly enough - we loved working with her.

Shelly has been an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. She has been warm, accommodating, flexible, and all-around fantastic! Our wedding was simply breathtaking, with stunning bouquets, ceremony arrangements, and table arrangements during the reception. During the planning process, Shelly made planning stress-free was always available for questions. She had such creative suggestions and was always willing to help us work within our budget. I gave her an idea of the types and colors of flowers I had in mind, and when I finally saw a sample of the table arrangement, I could not believe it! It was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The maid of honor and bridal bouquets brought tears to my eyes, literally. I would absolutely recommend Shelly to anyone interested in having the wedding of their dreams.

We had an initial meeting where she took tons of notes on what we wanted with our flower arrangements and then we let her take it from there. She then provided a quote within a few days.
We loved the pictures of her past work she provided during that meeting and her price was extremely competitive!
We were very pleased with the end product and would rommend her anyone that needs a florist for their wedding day.

Her work is absolutely gorgeous-she had great suggestions when my mom and I were trying to decide on the kinds/colors of the flowers to use for my wedding. We trusted Shelly's judgment completely-she has a great vision and is very flexible and patient. The flowers at my wedding were breathtaking-ceremony flowers (including a very lush, beautiful arch), the cocktail hour centerpieces and the reception centerpieces received so many compliments. Shelly was INCREDIBLE. She understood what I wanted, even when I wasn't being very descriptive. We more or less told her to do what she wanted/recommended. We chose dark purple as our color which is hard and expensive to get. But Shelly exceeded my expectations. Everything was so beautiful. She put my vision into reality in a way I didn't think was possible. I would recommend her in a heart beat. She was fun and cool too.

Shelly was absolutely fantastic. I told her about the look I was going for and she completely new the vision and executed it better than I could have imagined myself. She was really good about putting up with some last minute requests and was really helpful and reassuring throughout the whole process. We got married at the Comus Inn and this was her first time doing flowers there- the manager at the venue said that they were some of the best flowers he's ever seen and wants to start recommending her!

I also accidentally gave her the wrong bridesmaid number (I know worst nightmare...I had junior bridesmaids that I got mixed up) and she last minute put together another beautiful bouquet. Shelly was amazing from our initial meeting to the day of the wedding. I contacted Shelly about two months before the wedding and she was able to pull my vision together without a problem. She came up with a gorgeous treatment for the tree where our ceremony was held. She also made sure to encompass the treatment through the rest of the wedding. Everyone who attended absolutely loved all of the flowers and floating candles at the reception. I would go back to her anytime I am in need of flowers.

Shelly did an absolutely beautiful job with all the flowers for my daughter's wedding and reception -- 2 altar arrangements, bridal bouquet, bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres, and cocktail and dinner table centerpieces. In only one meeting with my daughter and me (8 months before the wedding!) she easily understood (with the help of pictures!) what my daughter's color scheme, flower preferences, etc. were, and she had some fabulous ideas that were then translated into reality. When we asked if she could incorporate antique lace into the bouquets, she readily said yes and the result was lovely. She has a delightful, fun personality and is a consummate professional and artist in her work!

I told Shelly upon our initial meeting that flowers were super important to me. We went over my vision and I knew she understood right away. The entire time we collaborated I felt like I was in very good hands. Then the day of the wedding came, and I was blown away. The floral designs she came up with were not only beautiful but exactly what I was hoping for. She made the prettiest headpiece for me to wear (which I was a little nervous about), and it came out AMAZING. My pictures are so pretty. Everything was perfect. She is a top designer.
