Rick did an excellent job tailoring our ceremony to us and understood the feeling we were trying to create at our wedding even though we live out of the area and primarily communicated via email. His questions were detailed and thorough and his resources helped us easily piece together a ceremony that was meaningful and organized. Rick's professionalism and expertise made the rehearsal and the day of flow exceedingly well, and all of members of our processional and bridal party knew exactly what to do and when to do it. We are very pleased with our experience with Rick and recommend him to any and all future couples. -

Rick was an all around outstanding officiant and partner in our wedding process. He was immediately responsive and had a variety of material to choose from. He also allowed us to add our own personalized story into the speech and make adjustments to his material as we saw fit so that it flowed more with our needs. He was always organized and quick to reply to any questions we had along the way.
On our wedding day Rick ran both my husband and I through the ceremony as well as our photographer and anyone else who had a role in the ceremony.
Rick’s delivery was touching, never rushed and brought a warmth to the ceremony. He was exceptionally prepared and aware of small details like stepping away so the photographer could take photos at certain points. His attire was professional, and his bow tie choice was whimsical and my favorite part of his outfit (it was wooden).
Rick made our day feel beyond special and we couldn’t recommend him more.

Rick took the time to get to know us and crafted a heartfelt ceremony that beautifully captured our love story. His attention to detail and reliability gave us complete peace of mind. He even helped mail and scan our marriage certificate afterward so we didn’t have to worry about a thing.

He provides different options for what he will say at the ceremony, and I combined a bunch together and he helped me edit it to work, we love how he thinks to tell your story so everyone knows your history, and we got so many compliments and people saying they want him to officiate their wedding! My wedding Coordinator Sonya kept saying "I could have got you a cheaper officiant" and I kept saying we have NO REGRETS hiring him! Rick was wonderful to work with and we highly recommend his services for an officiant. Our wedding went off without a hitch, in large part due to Rick's flexibility, professionalism and care. MULTIPLE people expressed throughout the night what a wonderful ceremony it was and how impressed they were with what Rick wrote and how meaningful it all was so, we are very thankful. Rick was an absolute pleasure to work with! He is extremely professional yet personable, and was a true joy to have a part of our wedding day. Rick was professional and helpful from the first call to the day of. He took time to get to know us both individually and as a couple. He wanted to make our wedding ceremony personal and unique to us. Creating vows and the order to the ceremony can be overwhelming, but Rick took the lead, had examples to choose from, and offered suggestions to help us along the way. We couldn't have been happier with Rick being such an intricate part of our special day. From the moment we were referred to him, Rick was professional, and thoughtful. Leading up to our wedding Rick put effort in getting to know my us to make our ceremony personalized and tailored to us and our personalities. He provided us with examples of other ceremonies and compiled what we liked about those with our own story and ideas to put together the perfect ceremony for us. He calmed our nerves on the day of the wedding. He captured us and our story perfectly. Many guests mentioned later that "I've never experienced a more beautiful ceremony". From the very start to the very end, even now after being married for 2 days, Rick has been very supportive and helpful. We hopped on two different calls throughout the process of writing our ceremony and he was very helpful with sending ideas and flexible. We booked him about 9 months in advanced and he was patient with us, even allowing us to send him our personal vows day of, to have in case one of us forgot our vow books. He was very professional and the ceremony ran so smoothly. Woukd definitely recommend. -

Rick was so helpful since we first spoke with him. He sent over plenty of written resources that we could look through to use for our ceremony and he did a fantastic job of stitching our two versions of our story together, making it entertaining for the audience to learn about our story together.
He is very professional and very skilled in what he does. He makes sure to step off to the side during the big kiss and other moments, he does a great job at the rehearsal educating everyone on what their roles are and what to expect.
My husband and I come from two different religious backgrounds and he was able to mesh those together in a way that best suited us both.
We absolutely loved our ceremony and so did our guests. You cannot go wrong choosing Rick to officiate your wedding. -

Rick had invaluable advice and insight into how to structure the proceedings and ensure everything flowed smoothly. He gave great feedback and adjustments that made the text of our ceremony feel personal, special and memorable.
He arrived on time and was dressed the part for the specific tone of our event. He was flexible and did a wonderful job working in perfect harmony with our vendors and adjusting to our unique circumstances. We felt like we were in great hands under his thoughtful and unobtrusive leadership as our officiant.
We got several compliments on his grounded and present delivery of our ceremony. Our guests loved his energy and they highlighted how fitting he was for our ceremony. He has the ability to provide gravitas and humor in equal measure. We cannot imagine our ceremony being as memorable or successful without his guiding hand.
I understand that some people may have reservations entrusting such important duties to a stranger instead of family member. Let your cousin/brother in law/aunt with an online ordainment sit with the rest of your family/friends and enjoy the proceedings. But, we implore you, give Rick an opportunity to showcase the breadth of his knowledge and experience.
Rick will ensure your ceremony reflects who you both are as a couple. He will help you avoid common pitfalls that someone less experienced may not be privy to in regards to the minutiae of your chosen wedding traditions/rituals/handoffs. Rick was absolutely amazing! My husband and I were able to meet with him virtually (since we live out of state) before committing to his services and we were constantly in email communication as he worked on our ceremony. Rick provided lots of resources and previous ceremony transcripts for us to look through and was more than happy to include aspects we came up with ourselves/found elsewhere. Our main goal was to create a ceremony that was uniquely us, with a special emphasis on our loved ones given that most of them traveled great distances to be there that day. I had so many guests rave about him that day! He moved around during the ceremony to let the photographer get some shots with and without him in them and did not even need to be reminded to move for the first kiss. Rick guided me through questions I hadn't even considered, like which colors he should and shouldn't wear so as to not clash with the bridal parties and groom.

We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant than Rick. I contacted him a year before our wedding and he was immediately so responsive and helpful with the process of putting together a beautiful ceremony. Rick was an incredible officiant for our wedding! He took the time to meet with and get to know us and our relationship before he began writing our ceremony. After our wedding, all of our guests were in awe of our officiant and shared with us that it was one of the best ceremonies they’ve ever witnessed. Matt and I were so happy we chose Rick to be our officiant at our wedding as he was always professional, flexible, patient, a great listener, and very responsive. Rick helped us through the whole process, was willing to meet with us prior to payment, and was more than happy to hop on multiple phone calls to help us feel comfortable leading up to our big day. He executed both our rehearsal and the ceremony flawlessly. When choosing an officiant it was important to us that we chose someone who could execute in a way that the guests would feel our officiant knew us and our love story from the beginning, and Rick did just that. He truly listened to our wants and needs of our dream ceremony and absolutely nailed it! To us, the ceremony is the most important part because that’s why we’re all there in the first place, so it was imperative that we picked the perfect officiant, and that was Rick! He provided us with the necessary tools to help build our ceremony readings, vows, prayer, timing, etc. Rick is organized, efficient, professional, friendly and truly made the whole process fun for us! From our very first conversation I knew that Rick was the one that was going to marry us! We met for a lunch meeting and it truly felt like we were having lunch with an old friend, immediate comfort and ease. He thoroughly explained the process and what our options were for our ceremony. My fiancé and I planned an intimate destination wedding in Paso Robles in June of 2022. My fiancé was unfortunately hit by a car while on a bicycle 3 weeks before our wedding. I had to postpone our wedding indefinitely. As I began the daunting task of notifying all our vendors and advising them of the cancellation, I reached out to Rick with the news. He immediately assured me I had nothing to worry about - he would refund my deposit immediately and then offered to help me by reaching out to any other vendors he could for me. I knew I had made the right decision in choosing Rick to Officiate our wedding! Fast forward one hard, long year later and our wedding was back on. I reached back out to Rick who was thrilled with the news. He helped us through the entire vow writing process making it so easy but also so personal. Rick was just what you want in a wedding officiant. He is very personable, attentive and instructive. We had not met Rick prior to the wedding rehearsal, but we immediately felt at ease with his personality, demeanor and confidence. This wasn’t his first rodeo. He quickly pointed out many of the things that could go wrong, so that come wedding time, nothing did go wrong.
Rick came highly recommended by our wedding coordinator Katy Smith. We spoke over the phone on several occasions. Rick quickly dialed in to exactly the ceremony we wanted. One really nice part of working with Rick was using his professional website which featured videos of other weddings he had performed. We could easily relay to Rick, “We like how you did this and would like to incorporate it into our ceremony, but we would like to make this minor change.” Rick listened to us and made the changes that we requested.
Rick was warm and expressed a sincere concern that the wedding be personalized for the bride and groom. He provided many examples of vows to get the wording just right. Rick was kind, friendly, organized, and professional.
We highly recommend Rick to anyone looking for a wedding officiant. He went above and beyond to exceed our expectations.

Rick was the most important part of our wedding, and I'm not even exaggerating. I showed up the rehearsal the day prior with a rowdy bunch of groomsmen who'd just gotten off the bachelor party -- Rick made sure everyone was attentive and got us through that rehearsal like it was nobody's business! The ceremony was beautifully done, and Rick worked with me through the whole process to come up with a non-religious yet classic ceremony. He knew exactly how to do the handfasting ceremony which was wonderful. I still have my guests telling me how great of a job the officiant did many months after the wedding. Rick was incredible.
From start to finish he was incredibly helpful, concise, and professional.
To provide some backstory:
Our original officiant cancelled on us on very short notice - we reached out to Rick and explained our dilemma, luckily he was available on our date, and was able to officiate our ceremony.
From there, we hit the ground running.
He first provided us with incredible ceremony ideas and resources to find what message liked and wanted to convey, he took time to learn about my wife and I, how we met, our hobbies, likes/dislikes, etc... and not even a day later he provided us with a beautiful personalized message that we hardly needed to edit.
He was available via phone, text, email, and responded quickly to our needs and questions.
Come wedding day - we met Rick for the first time. Rick is kind, caring, and knows what he is doing and we felt completely comfortable listening to him give us direction. This was conveyed and felt by our guests as they approached us countless times through the night about how wonderful Rick was; his tone, his message, his demeanor, even the subtle move to the side of the bridge and groom at parts in order for the bridge and groom to get 1:1 shots under the arch (nice touch Rick!), and not to mention his noteworthy style with his unique Bow Tie.
Overall, I am grateful that our original officiant cancelled on us from the beginning, because if it was not for that, we would not have had the experience and wonderful memory Rick gave my wife Jocelyn and I.
I would and will highly recommend Rick to anyone who is looking to get married. -

When we started the process of looking for an officiant, our first thought was to choose someone we knew. We wanted our wedding ceremony to be personal and intimate. We ended up deciding we wanted a professional (Rick) and that was the best decision we made. Rick felt like he was part of our family and told our story like he had known us our whole lives! In addition, because Rick has done many weddings, we knew that there wouldn’t be any hiccups and that he would take care of all things ceremony. It was one less (big) thing we had to worry about. Highly recommend Rick Comstock!
This was a very special occasion for our us and Rick Comstock was a perfect choice! Our wedding was planned solely by us with no coordinator to assist, and it helped greatly to have someone officiated who calmed us down and was truly interested in helping make our day special. Rick provided us with pre-wedding literature and idea's to help us develop our Vows and readings for the Wedding. He was very flexible and let us know we could include as much (or as little) 'spirituality' as we wanted. He did not have any preconceived expectations as to how our Wedding should proceed.
One thing that really impressed us was the way he talked to the audience during the ceremony. He was very down to earth, easy to understand, and kept our attention.

Rick was wonderful and we were very happy that he was provided through our venue. We wanted a very simple ceremony and had no idea how to begin drafting said ceremony. Rick was easy to talk to, provided a lot of ceremony examples to help guide us, and gave really good advice. We drafted our "love story" and we're not romantic or great writers by any means, I had my doubts but Rick put his spin and edits on it that was much better for storytelling and we were so happy with how it turned out. He is very responsive to emails and accommodating, which was key since we were from out of town and would not be able to meet until the day of the ceremony. Very happy with Rick, would definitely recommend. -

Rick was an absolute treasure and made the ceremony a highlight of our wedding. The ceremony really was everything we hoped for: sweet, funny, emotional, professional, meaningful, and perfect amount of time. We received so many compliments about our ceremony from friends and family alike, as everyone felt really connected. Ahead of the wedding, Rick helped us put together a ceremony that felt totally "us" and included a short "our story", which brought the guests together from both sides in a shared recollection of how we got to the big day. He also helped us curate the different elements like the intro, homily, blessing, etc. from a library of other unique ceremonies, which we cobbled together in initial brainstorms and then updated to align with our vision and style. Our wedding party also commented on how well run the rehearsal was. To top it off, he showed up looking dapper with his suit and blending right in with our wedding party look. RICK IS THE BEST! A must have for a flawless ceremony!
As a couple who gets a touch of anxiety with public speaking (and chose to have a wedding of 150+ guests), Rick was hands down the best officiant we could have chosen to marry us (09/04/21)! We knew we had to go with him after watching him marry some of our close friends in our wedding party. He did an amazing job of telling "our story" and hit all the key elements we were looking for while adding in some lighthearted humor. Rick was extremely attentive and quick with his responses and described us perfectly during our ceremony! Our guests could not stop telling us how much they enjoyed the ceremony and the stories.
Rick even took extra steps to complete the marriage license process for us so we could be stress-free. Bonus points for him keeping my dad (father of the bride) at ease and spending extra time with him during the rehearsal!
