I could not be happier with the decision to have Chaplain Larry Todd be our officiant. I was initially stressed out about finding the right officiant for our wedding ceremony because my family is very religious (Catholic) but my groom's family is not so I wanted a ceremony that would make everyone happy and comfortable. Larry's was just that. It was spiritual but not intimidating, it was fun, it was personal, and as my husband and I best describe it - it was "us." He was responsive, flexible and really cared about making it special to us.
My husband is in the military so Larry's background there was special and his overall approach to a spiritual and personal wedding ceremony was perfect. We got so many compliments from guests on both sides of our families and friends. I also just appreciated his genuineness about everything he does and his continued service to his community in many ways. No matter what your religious beliefs are, Larry is a great example of a genuinely good person. Thank you Larry! -

Chaplain Larry Todd was probably the best last-minute decision I've ever made. I chose to have a Sunday wedding, which meant that a) not only were our preachers from home (Dallas) unable to travel because of Sunday services, but b) I was unable to find a preacher in Austin able and willing to perform the ceremony. So, I finally listened to my day-of-coordinator, who had recommended Chaplain Larry Todd to me several times... And I'm so glad I did! I contacted him only three weeks before the wedding, we met two days afterwards, and he agreed to marry us that same day. To be honest, I was somewhat skeptical about being married by a chaplain (whose personal faith is unknown to you) and especially one that didn't know us the way our pastors back home did, but he truly surprised me with how spiritual and tailored to me and my husband his service was. He did a spectacular job at making everyone feel comfortable (he's a very funny man and made the audience laugh several times), yet did not make light of the commitment being made. He's so professional that there is no cause for concern in terms of saying the wrong thing (him or you); he outlines the timeline in your meeting and through emails, and in case that isn't enough, coaches you through responses, etc. right before the wedding (and just calms your nerves in general)! Last but certainly not least, with him you know your money is not for his own personal gain (unlike many online chaplains/preachers/etc.)... He donates the full amount to charity, so it's almost like you are not paying at all, just helping those in need! (How cool is that??) I still cannot believe that he took time out of his own personal schedule to help us out at such last minute, and for that, I am forever grateful. So if you need someone to marry you, contact Larry. I'm pretty sure you won't regret it! -

Larry Todd is a gem! Our ceremony was the highlight of the day (as it should be) because Larry put so much of his energy and personality in to it.
We first met Larry at Starbucks to get to know him and discuss what we wanted in a wedding ceremony. He told us that he performs ceremonies that are serious, yet fun which was exactly what were looking for. Larry was sincere and wanted to get to know us as a couple and we felt very comfortable with him. We also liked the fact that his fee is donated to central Texas firemen and police officers.
Larry was very responsive to our e-mails. Often e-mailing back within the same day if not the hour. As the wedding day approached, he would remind us to bring the rings and the marriage license so it was always in the back of our mind but he also told us to, most importantly, relax and enjoy the day.
The day of the wedding, Larry came to talk to us to make sure we were relaxed and ready to go. He also mingled outside with our guests, which was apparent during the ceremony as he mentioned some of the places people came from to be with us on our special day. He kept the ceremony fun and the audience entertained. I don't remember a wedding ceremony with so much laughter as ours.
We had so many compliments not about the food or the flowers, but about Larry and how much people genuinely enjoyed our ceremony. And isn't that what a wedding is all about? Not the dress or the open bar, but the joining of two people in the ceremony! Thanks, Larry for making ours the best ever! -

Chaplain Larry Todd Married my husband and I on April 5th 2013, and let me just say that picking him to be our officiant was the best decision we ever made. Mr. Todd was just wonderful. He kept our Ceremony interesting and alive and very unique to us. When we first met with him me and my husband knew that we wanted him to be the one to marry us. He is a very nice, caring, and sweet person. All of our guests and families cannot stop talking about how great the Chaplain was at our wedding ceremony. He truly made our day very special by being our officiant. When he first arrived he talked to us individually to see how we were doing and to calm our nerves a little. He was just so awesome! Some wedding ceremonies that i've been too were so strung out and frankly boring but he kept us and all of guests laughing and crying through the whole thing. If you are looking for an officiant Larry Todd is your Chaplain! We couldn’t have asked for a better ceremony. Thank you for being our officiant Mr. Todd we will never forget you and you are truly special to us! Thanks!

Larry Todd officiated our wedding and did a wonderful job. He asked for personal details about us at our meeting, and we had lots of people ask us after the ceremony if he was an old family friend because he made the ceremony very personalized. He was extremely affordable, and I love that all of his fees go to charity. He's a very sweet man and we were so glad that we got him for our wedding! -

Chaplain Larry Todd, you made our ceremony more special and perfect than I ever could have imagined. The ceremony was the highlight of the entire day, including reception. I loved your personal touches, and how you made us laugh, and cry. I didn't know what to expect from a wedding chaplain that I had only met once or twice, but you went exceedingly above our expectations. Thank you again. We will never forget you.

Chaplain Larry was perfect. We are absolutely fond of him and his charming service. He set the tone for our wedding -- a tone that was exactly what I imagined for my wedding, with the appropriate amount of humor and reverence. Several guests told us how wonderful he was both during the wedding and in the weeks since. He met us at Starbucks one evening and got to know us -- really got to know us, and exchanged many emails with us in the time after the initial meeting and the ceremony. We feel so blessed to have such a charismatic officiant at our wedding. -

Chaplain Larry Todd did an AMAZING job! Our service was funny, touching, spiritual, personal, and beautiful all at the same time. We wanted a longer more personal service than most "officiant" weddings that I have seen. Our service was over 30 minutes long! (Actually closer to 45 minutes I think). He started of our service with light humor that had everyone laughing, yet still made it a Christian service, too. We had planned to use the pastor from our church, but he was booked with a men's retreat. We are actually very happy we found Larry Todd, instead. He is retired and officiates weddings as a volunteer activity. He does this because he wants to and enjoys it, and you can really tell. Several of our guests told us that our wedding was the most beautiful wedding that they had ever been to (and we are a middle-aged professional couple with guests that have had the privilege of attending some really fine events). We know that it was the most beautiful and touching wedding that we have attended, but it felt really wonderful hearing it from our guests. -

I really don't think we could have had a better officiant than Chaplain Larry Todd. Our ceremony was very personalized, and touched even our less religious/not religious friends and family. A lot of our guests told us that it was the first wedding ceremony where they were actually engaged and listening to what was said. Definitely the best decision we made regarding our wedding! -

We could not have been more pleased with Daniel Maldonado as our wedding pastor. Our wedding was one on the larger side at Green Pastures in Austin, Texas and Daniel was able to set the tone as a celebration that was intimate and welcoming. He not only took the time to get to know us as a couple, but assisted us in putting words to our ceremonial vision. I will treasure the memories Daniel helped create on our wonderful day and will recommend him to all friends who are planning a wedding! -

Daniel Maldonado was our wedding officiant for a wedding last spring at the Wildflower Center in Austin, TX. Daniel did a wonderful job incorporating all of our wishes into the service. He worked with us ahead of time to develop a wedding service that was very meaningful to us and our families. We were raised in different faiths and wanted to be sure that both sides of the of the family would feel connected to our service and no one would feel alienated or offended. Everyone had rave reviews! Afterwards many people told us how much they enjoyed our service and we have many wonderful memories, too. -

Chaplain Larry Todd officiated our wedding and he did a superb job! He exceeded our expectations in every way: he was truly concerned about getting to know us at our 1st meeting; he personalized our ceremony beautifully; and he had the exact kind of tone that we were hoping for (a few mentions of God and a higher being but not denominational). Not only that... he officiated our wedding outside in July and made everyone comfortable despite the high temperatures. I got literally dozens of comments from guests AT the wedding itself about how beautiful the ceremony is and how great Larry was. He had a few moments of comic relief which helped keep us (or anyone else) from getting nervous or tense. We were just beaming through the whole thing, but he also got serious at the right times since of course, it is a serious event. Larry actually teared up when my dad hugged my new husband right before sitting down at his place... he didn't try to hide it or gloss over it, Larry said "wow, that was really touching" and it was a beautiful moment. He also had a lot of neat ideas, like the 3 secret words about each other that he reveals during the ceremony. That was really neat for everyone to hear -- and he even attempted to translate those words into Spanish for our non-English-speaking guests. He really went above & beyond. Larry will be a dear friend to us for years to come and we both feel honored that he took part in such a special day in our lives together. -

We struggled with finding an officiant that would work for us because we are not especially religious people and don't prescribe to any one organized religion, but we also wanted a fairly traditional ceremony that wouldn't put off our families (my dad wanted us to have a Catholic wedding, my mom is Baptist...you see this is shaky ground here!). After doing some research and asking around, we decided to meet with Chaplain Larry Todd and instantly hit it off with him. We were able to tweak the vows he provided to make them more personal to us, and we did a sand ceremony as well. We were, of course, emotional and anxious during the ceremony, but thanks to Chaplain Larry it all went very smoothly and he quietly reminded us when we needed to do or say anything, which was very helpful. He mingled just a bit with our guests as we took pictures, and a couple of our friends told us later how awesome he was to hang out with as well. His fee is quite reasonable and goes to charity. -

I've received nothing but compliments about Chaplain Larry Todd. He is so personable and caring; he really took the time to get to know us so that the ceremony was intimate and personal. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Chaplain Larry Todd from this group. I cannot say enough about how many people LOVED him at our wedding! I don't know how many comments and compliments we got about him - they just kept coming!
Chaplain Larry is very down to earth, fun, captivating, and so comforting! I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started searching for Officiants online. I was nervous... but when we met with Chaplain Larry, he put us at ease! He must be one of the few who actually loves what he does because he is good at it!!
And the best part is (from their website @ http://www.austinweddingchaplains.com): "The majority of the proceeds generated from our wedding fees are used in conjunction with Central Texas Crisis Chaplains to aid and assist veterans, police officers and firefighters."

Daniel officiated my wedding on January 9,2010. He was great. Full of energy and blessing he created a space at the ceremony that was unbelievable. All of my guests say it was the best wedding they have been too. Daniel was very helpful in getting to know us and our goals and why we were doing this. He has the ability to do many types of ceremonies and can mix and match if need be. He exudes confidence and I would recconend him to anyone. I'll say it again the energy he brings is powerful and moving. We laughed and cried and he helped us be very present and was able to captivate the crowd and engage them as part of the ceremony. Hope this is helpful!!
