    Amazingly delicious cake. It was beautiful and you could tell that she put her heart into making it. She was very patient with me and kept me calm. She did an amazing job and I will always be grateful.

    Annie was super sweet! I love her so much! The cake was amazing. It tasted like heaven, looked like a million dollars, and you could tell she put her heart into making it. I have never been so happy in my life. She is a doll.

    Annie was so nice and so experienced in this field. The cake was to die for! Everyone loved the cake! Melt in your mouth deliciousness! From start to finish, Annie really helped make our wedding cake everything I could possibly want! The decoration was gorgeous and it's a no wonder why she won "best cake" this year! We are so pleased! Thank you for making such a beautiful cake to showcase on our wedding day, not just beautiful but also delicious!

    Joyce was very easy to work with and made my wedding cake exactly as I had described. The cakes were delicious, and our guests raved about how tasty and beautiful they were. I gave her free reign to decorate the grooms cake as she wished, as long as it was chocolate, and she blew us away! She had somehow gotten a picture of my husband and me from when we first started dating, and placed an edible copy of it on the top. It was very thoughtful, and a big hit with our family & friends. She made sure the cakes presentation were flawless, and it was obvious that she paid great attention to detail in decorating both of the cakes she made for us.

    I am surprised to see that she has any negative reviews. She was extremely kind and courteous in every one of our interactions... even though I changed my mind several times. Her prices were great, her cakes are beautiful, and they tasted delicious! I recommend her to anyone looking for a high quality, traditional wedding cake at an affordable cost!

    The Austin Cake Lady was wonderful. She makes beautiful and very tasty cakes. The price of the cakes were terrific! I had tasted her cakes at my son's wedding and they were so delicious. My soon to be son-in-law loved the cakes at the cake tasting. He said that he would love to have cake for after the wedding. When we walked into the venue the first thing my daughter saw were the cakes and she teared up and said they were beautiful! Thank you for making my daughter's wedding day so special!

    Ms. Swann is an exceptional baker! The cakes were divine! I loved every bite we had of our beautiful cakes! The bridal cake was gorgeous! The top tier even lasted in the fridge until we got back from our honeymoon! She was very helpful in placing the flowers on top of the cake, and the grooms cake turned out perfectly with the fire dept's seal. I heard nothing but great reviews of the cakes from all the guests.

    The Cake Lady was awesome! We went to her house for our consultation and she had several cakes for us to taste and had tons and tons of pictures for us to look at. She was so flexible, she even said that we could bring our own pictures of another cake and she could make it for us.

    The prices were amazing too. Even after we kept both cake tops, we still had cake leftover from the reception. She taught us how to wrap the cake to ensure that it will still taste great a year later. Well we actually forgot to get the cake tops out on our anniversary so we didn't even eat them until the year and a half mark, and the cake still tasted good! I would highly recommend the Austin Cake Lady to anyone looking at wedding cakes!

    Annie was such a wonderful vendor to have for our wedding! She was very professional and willing to provide any flavors and decorations required for our bride and groom cake :) She called regularly to discuss any changes and she was very attentive to phone calls and call backs. She is also the only person I know that can make delicious buttercream look like smooth fondant!!!

    Our cake was absolutly beautiful. We loved the texture and the frosting was just perfect. The set up was wonderful and done before our arrival. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. I would recommend this vendor for your wedding!

    Austin Cake Lady was wonderful to work with. Originally, we were going to make the cake ourselves, but we are so glad we went with her. My gorgeous cake ended up being one of my favorite parts of the wedding. It turned out more beautiful than expected. And the delivery was wonderful - the wedding was at 10:00 am and she had it delivered and set up before we arrived at 8:30am. I would definitely recommend her.

    After reading her reviews online, without meeting her I chose the Austin Cake Lady. She is an amazingly talented cake maker. We had a little problem with communication just via email, so I would recommend to meet her in person first. Through the months, we were able to work through the two cakes that we ordered. We had the mexican vanilla with bavarian cream and the german chocolate cake and they were AMAZING in taste. I wanted something different than what her normal styles were and with much back and forth, she finally was able to design the cakes that I wanted and they were completely BEAUTIFUL. I would recommend her to anyone. She is a fantastic lady and the BEST Austin Cake Lady!

    We'd like to thank Austin Cake Lady for a beautiful wedding cake.It looked gorgeous and tasted even better.We where also amazed at the cost of the cake,we definitely got a good price!She did a great job and I will certainly recommend to others.

    I was a little disappointed that my cake didn't look like the drawing we created in our meeting but it was still beautiful. She didn't give you many flavors to choose from and I wasn't OVERLY impressed with the taste of the cakes but they were still good. We also served chocolate covered strawberries, cookies, pastries that the venue provided so it was nice to have a lot of dessert. The Cake Lady is very particular!

    Joyce makes delicious caked but is very ridgid about what she will and will not do. She was very inexpensive and makes tasty cakes. She only works in buttercream so if you want an elaborately designed cake or one with sculptured flowers, she is not the cake lady for you.

    I hired Joyce from word of mouth reviews when I was planning my wedding from out of state. I flew to Austin twice for wedding planning and she was unable to host a tasting for me either time. So I emailed her a pic of the exact cake I wanted down to the color of the scroll, and told her to use her most popular flavors (since I never tasted them). Two days before the wedding she calls to ask what color scroll. I say gold like the picture and was told she cannot do gold. Then I found out she iced my cake in chocolate---um, I selected ivory and the picture was ivory as well. She argued that I had told her chocolate. I have every email between us and never said chocolate. The groom's cake was chocolate. She told me she did not have time to redo it and could put ivory over the chocolate.

    Then she said she used silver foil to line the plate the cake sat on. She helped me acquire a GOLD cake stand. I didn't want silver hanging over. She again argued it was my fault because I never specifically told her nor did I call her and tell her. I sent a picture of exactly what I wanted and she knew I was having a gold cake stand-no phone calls needed.

    That said, she did stay up all night and redo my order using ivory icing and gold foil, and I do appreciate that. I was made to feel as though the 'miscommunication' was my fault and she told my wedding coordinator she made "all the changes I wanted against her usual policy." They were not changes, they were corrections. But at the end of the day the cakes were perfect. They looked and tasted great.

    Our cake turned out just the way we pictured it. It was very good and looked so pretty. The only thing I would have to say is read your contract. She requires you to call her within a certain period of time before the wedding to confirm everything and can be a bit hard about this. Just make sure you do this because you did sign the contract. Otherwise she was nice to work with. Overall our service was good and I would recommend her.

    You get what you pay for? The cakes were a great price and tasted great, but they where lopsided and she tried to fix it by puting a paper towel under one corner or it, and they continued to sink through out the night. The college emblem was not centered on the grooms cake. She was rude to the bridesmaids when they went out to see them because she was still setting up. There was also a big book keeping problem, she does not keep up with payments very well. Save all your carbon copy checks and bank statements when dealing with her!!!

    I picked the Austin Cake Lady because she made strawberry cake, which my fiance and I really wanted and had trouble finding. The cake was delicious; taste-wise, we got a ton of compliments on both the wedding cake (which had tiers of strawberry, Mexican vanilla and French vanilla) and the grooms’ cake (which was chocolate). That being said, this vendor caused the most problems leading up to the wedding. She didn’t have records of deposits that I had mailed, and had a really hard timing keeping track of the remaining balances we owed. Our “contract” was one big scribble, so it wasn’t shocking that she forgot to add a detail to the total cost. When I asked for an updated contract after we made a change, she told me she wouldn't give me one. She then called me the Wednesday evening before our Saturday wedding to ask what flavor the cake was supposed to be… letting me know that if she didn't hear back, she would assume what we wanted! The day of the wedding the best she could do was give the wedding coordinator a 5 hour window for when she was going to drop off the cake.
    If you have someone else taking care of the business side as you plan the wedding, check her out because her cakes are delicious and not too pricey. But if you are dealing with all of the vendors and budgeting, I would look somewhere else because the added stress is not worth it.

    I would NOT recommend using this vendor for your wedding cake. First of all I will say that the cake did taste good, but that was the only good thing about it. Your wedding day is suppose to be a stress free day and it was ANYTHING but that only due to Annie. She is not good at communication so she will not remember you, what you talked about, and what you paid from one day to the next. That is very unprofessional when paying someone so much money to make your cake. The delivery process was a nightmare. She was yelling at the staff at the venue and my family that the cake was going to melt and she didn't care (I had already discussed with her that the cake would be refrigerated and have plenty of emails to back this discussion). She refused to put my cake together. I am so thankful I had an amazing chef who put my wedding cake together for me as she left it in pieces. The days leading up to the wedding were VERY stressful. I had to make trips to get her supplies she needed to finish the cake...NOT my job. I know she is probably great at making cakes and an awesome person, but I highly recommend going with a bakery. It is not worth the stress of wondering if you will even have a cake. I was very disappointed in the way we were treated and the lack of responsibility for the finished product. I am NEVER one to write bad reviews, but if I can save another bride from this hassle I will.

    Wow! Without destroying my karma I can say that the cake I ordered for my wedding day was not the cake that was eaten by our guests. Afterwards, when questioned why the cake that was pictured and eaten wasn't what was agreed on in the contract, Joyce yelled at my Mother, called us names, and was completely convinced that it was my reception site venue's fault that the cake wasn't correct. We got both sides of the story and it turns out Joyce was lying to us, she assembled the cake herself as witnessed by not only our venue coordinator, but by my groom as well. Later, she posted on her website that she believed the gentlemen working at our venue were "illegals" as she stated. This comment really pushed it all too far. I wish she would have taken responsibility for her mistake. She makes lovely, delicious cakes (in fact, the grooms cake could not have been more PERFECT!), but we feel the way she handled things was very unprofessional.

    TOTAL NIGHTMARE IN HIRING THIS WOMAN. The cakes that were delivered were not the cakes we tasted at the consultation. They were stale and were lopsided. Joyce refused to even get out of her car and deliver the cakes unless I (the mother of the groom) would make sure the table was set up and ready to go. She didn't care that I was engaged in pre-wedding festivities at the time. When she finally came into the venue and delivered the cakes she refused to finish decorating them even though the flowers and the strawberries were there. The fresh flowers and strawberries were being kept fresh in the kitchen. When she was told by our coordinator that he would fetch them she simply turned and walked away. She didn't just walk away from him she left the venue! Everyone in the area couldn't believe this woman's attitude. She caused such a scene. While all the vendors were working together to make the day special, she seemed to be working against them. She tried her hardest to make everyone miserable. Well it didn't work. Our florist and caterer came to the rescue and did their best to make her cakes look good. Problem is they were not level. They were not pretty at all. But our event went on and was a great success even without her cakes. We served our out of town guests and family cake the next day to celebrate. Everyone became ill. One day after that we threw the cakes out. We bought Target cakes to satisfy our cravings. The Target cakes were much better than this woman's cakes! The nightmare is over.
