Elegant perfection

Nina and Atlantic Strings were fantastic to work with for ceremony and cocktail hour music at our wedding. So many guests remarked how elegant the string quartet made the afternoon feel, and we couldn’t agree more. Nina didn’t bat an eye when I requested to walk down the aisle to a mashup of Here Comes the Bride and Dancing Queen, and it was such an unforgettable touch for me. We absolutely recommend Atlantic Strings!

Elegant Sophisticated Cocktail Hour String Quartet!

Atlantic Strings provided the string quartet for our wedding cocktail hour. They did an amazing job and were well-reviewed by guests who shared their experience with us. Was able to confirm, pay, and plan with them easily and efficiently. Fortunately, they crafted a play list around what our preferences were and did an amazing job. Never had to worry about them getting to the venue, setting up, and departing - worked seamlessly and well with my wedding planner.

Hiring this trio was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning. Communication leading up to the wedding was always prompt and professional. We hired this group for ceremony and cocktail hour, and they did an absolutely fabulous job from beginning to end. Highly recommend them!!

Fantastic Performance During Wedding Ceremony and Cocktails

A string quarter from Atlantic Strings performed during the ceremony and cocktail hour during our recent wedding in Waltham, MA, and we were absolutely thrilled with them. We asked them to play classical music during the ceremony, and pop songs during cocktails, and they did a fantastic job of both. They were extremely professional and easy to work with. They were also very flexible; we asked them to play a piece not in their list in memory of the bride's father, and they were happy to do so. Their performance was absolutely wonderful - we got compliments on them from many of our guests, including professional musicians. Some of the guests spend the entire cocktail hour stationed next to them, just listening to the music. We would give them our highest possible recommendation.

Stunning Trio!

We hired Atlantic Strings as a trio and they did an absolutely fantastic job. As a couple that has a musical ear and some music experience/ play instruments themselves, not a single wrong note! Perfectly in tune! Just the right volume, played BEAUTIFUL renditions of songs and sounded very full (a trio was enough!). I cannot recommend this group enough!

Beautiful Music

Atlantic Strings made our ceremony and cocktail hour wonderful! They worked with us to learn our first dance song, as I walked down the aisle to a slower version. They were really professional to work with and very talented!

Incredible Talent and A Ceremony to Remember

Atlantic Strings was the most beautiful string quartet I have ever heard play in my life so hiring them for our wedding ceremony was a no brainer! The music was perfect and the guests could not stop talking about how talented they were. Nina and her team are extremely quick to respond, attentive to details, can read the crowd well and professional. I felt so beautiful walking down the aisle to the song I picked for them to play and i can't imagine not having them there! Please don't think twice about booking Atlantic Strings!

Beautiful music!

Atlantic Strings Ensemble helped bring my husband's & I's ceremony and cocktail hour music dreams to life! Music is a big part of both of our families lives & we wanted that to be showcased during our day. We loved that we could incorporate classical, modern songs and older music that everyone could truly enjoy. Atlantic Strings played a mix of styles as we had asked & even learned two new songs for our ceremony which still gives me chills when I think about how beautiful it was! It really was the most amazing touch to our day!

Highly Recommend! Excellent!

We hired Atlantic Strings to play for our wedding and we could not have been happier! They had great communication during the booking process before the wedding. When our wedding was postponed due to COVID, they were completely flexible with switching to our new date. Our guests loved hearing them play some of our favorite songs during our ceremony and cocktail hour! They were even able to learn a song to surprise one of our guests with. The musicians were not only excellent but also incredibly kind. Thank you Atlantic Strings for being part of our day!

Great String Quarter for Classical and Pop Strings

Made our first dance dreams come true - would not have been possible without them.

We hired Atlantic Strings for our wedding and we were blown away. They filled the entire space with music - no amplification needed. We had them play a range of genres from classical to popular rock songs and they nailed it all. Not only were they able to have a song arranged for the walk down the aisle they were able to have one arranged and adjusted to waltz timing to make our first dance extra special and totally unique. Atlantic Strings made our wedding unforgettable and one of a kind. Nina was easy to work with and made it all go off without a hitch.

Professional Service and Talented Musicians

We hired a string quartet from Atlantic Strings to play at our wedding ceremony. Nina was professional and responsive throughout the whole process and was understanding and flexible when we were forced to postpone our wedding and change our venue due to the pandemic.

The string quartet brought such a special feeling to our ceremony. The quartet was prompt and professional and the music was absolutely beautiful. I would highly recommend anyone using live music for the ceremony (which you should!) to go with Atlantic Strings.

Talented, Professional, & Flexible!!

I recently hired a trio from Atlantic Strings to play for my backyard wedding ceremony. They were truly exceptional - the music was so beautiful and I received so many compliments. Furthermore, the Atlantic Strings team was very flexible as I had to change my wedding plans around 3+ times due to COVID-19 which I greatly appreciate. Atlantic Strings were awesome!

Terrific Group of Musicians

We hired Atlantic Strings to play the music for our ceremony in South Berwick, Maine a few weeks ago and they did such a tremendous job. Easy to work with, flexible and extremely talented musicians. We had a very musical wedding with a lot of different friends and family performing and these guys set the perfect tone for that. We worked with them to pick a bunch of songs we liked for before, during and after the ceremony. Many people approached us to say they really gave the ceremony that extra something. We'd recommend them to anyone.

Leigh and I loved the music at our ceremony. We had specific song requests that weren't part of the "traditional" wedding song mix, and they delivered perfectly! The arrival music was soft and welcoming, and we got several compliments about the way that Atlantic played. Really, though, the highlight was when we heard our recessional song as we started our new journey together. It was beautiful music and a wonderful atmosphere.

Loved the string quartet that we had. They were amazing! Very responsive to emails. Easy to pay online. Their website is super helpful with suggestions for a wedding ceremony. We had them play classical music for the ceremony and pop music for the cocktail hour. So happy with the way they sounded. Great addition to our wedding and cocktail hour.

We decided in the week leading up to the wedding we wanted to have a string quartet for our ceremony and cocktail hour. We came across Atlantic Strings as being well reviewed, and thankfully they were available and responded very quickly. We hired Nina and her team for our indoor ceremony in April 2018 and they were great. Nina was very responsive early on with our questions. There was a good variety of classical and modern song choices and there was an option to request a song if it was not on their set list. We went with a trio and modern music and things went very smoothly. Nina and her team arrived on time, were set up, and performed brilliantly for an awesome ceremony.

I can't say enough good things about Atlantic Strings. First, their sound quality was terrific. Simply put, they are very good musicians. They were also very friendly and a nice presence at the ceremony. Coordinating with Nina beforehand was a breeze. She was professional and prompt in responding. Atlantic String was hired for my daughter's October Wedding .I added them at the last minute to the church ceremony & the cocktail hour at the venue.Their music really added to the beautiful church ceremony. They were very professional , showing up early to play as the guests arrived at the church. Nina was great to work with .She responded very quickly to all my emails & phone calls in coordinating all the music at the church & venue. Nina also worked with the church coordinator to see that everything was just perfect. I have received many positive comments of how wonderful they sounded at the church & cocktail hour . A great selection of music was played during the cocktail hour, which the guests thoroughly enjoyed .They added that special touch that people will remember. I would highly recommend them !! We hired a string quartet from Atlantic Strings and they did not disappoint! They provided beautiful music, an elegant aesthetic, and professional organization both leading up to and on the day of the wedding. They played all of our requests (even the unusual ones!) and on top of everything else, they were friendly and happy to be there! The music can make or break your big day. Atlantic Strings was WONDERFUL!! I seriously cannot say enough good things about this group. My fiance and I are both musicians, so we were super picky when choosing music for our engagement party, and couldn't have been happier. Nina, the owner, was super easy to work with and very professional. The group looked wonderful and played beautifully. My wife and I hired Atlantic Strings for our ceremony and we cannot recommend them highly enough! Throughout the planning process, they were extremely responsive and easy to work with. They played while our guests were arriving, and since we were in a small room connected to our main ceremony room, we got to enjoy their music before the ceremony started. For our ceremony, we requested two new arrangements from them and they happily complied. Having those songs played live by accomplished musicians contributed to a wonderful and memorable ceremony. Overall, we were extremely satisfied!

Amazing ! Atlantic strings were able to take every song I requested and bring our ceremony to life with our hand picked music. I truly believe having them at the ceremony made it so unique and gave it the most beautiful touch. They were amazing !

Atlantic Strings played at our wedding (during ceremony and cocktail hour) at the Harvard Faculty Club this summer. During our entire planning process, Nina was extremely helpful and also quick to respond to all my questions. The musicians were very talented; our guests said they really enjoyed listening to them. We had also asked them for special requests and they learned some modern songs for us; the songs turned out perfectly, we couldn't have asked for a better performance!

Nina was wonderful to work with! The trio played at my daughter's outdoor wedding at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center and the cocktail hour following. The music was beautiful and made the day. I really enjoyed working Nina! I contacted her in March for a wedding in May. Nina was very responsive to my inquiries, and easy to work with. I originally asked for a duo of strings, but then changed my mind to a trio. Nina was very flexible and I was able to easily make that change even though the wedding was less than 2 months away. It was such a great decision, in retrospect. My wedding guests loved the music!! They played beautifully. I highly recommend them!! Thank you so much for playing at our wedding!

This string quartet was amazing. I worked with Nina over the course of nine months or so, and she was always so helpful, responsive and professional. We wanted to have them play a few songs that weren't on their regular list of songs, and they were easily able to do that, and the songs sounded amazing. The music definitely helped to make the ceremony special, and we were so happy with how great they sounded. We had a lot of guests come up to us after, telling us how much they enjoyed hearing Atlantic Strings playing. I couldn't recommend them enough, totally worth including them in our budget to have them there!!

Nina and the whole Atlantic Strings group were great to work with. From the moment I first reached out to them to their last song at our cocktail hour everything went so smoothly. They helped me pick out the right songs and were even able to order arrangements for us for music that was not in their library and played them beautifully at our ceremony. I got so many complements from all our guests on our ceremony and cocktail hour music. Besides playing beautiful music, they were real pros - they knew their way around our venue, they arrived early, worked out the necessary signals with our officiant and coordinator and I didn't have to worry about a thing!

We had a quartet play at our ceremony at the Wickenden Chapel at Tabor Academy. They were outstanding performers and very professional. They played a number of different selections, ranging from U2 to Pachelbel's Canon in D. Nina was extremely helpful throughout the process of music selection and all other aspects leading up to the day of the wedding. She responded to all emails promptly and coordinated well with one of our friends who we designated to give the quartet cues during the ceremony. I cannot recommend Atlantic Strings highly enough.

Atlantic Stings music was absolutely amazing and was one of the things that our wedding guests loved the most. We had their string quartet play for both our ceremony and cocktail hour, while their pianist played throughout dinner. This set the mood for everything. They played a mix of traditional and modern songs for us and it was just perfect. They are serious pros and it really made the day special.

Nina and Chris, thank you. It meant so much for us to have you at our wedding and we were so glad you were there. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

More beautiful than I'd even imagined.. Atlantic Strings were simply 'perfection' at our garden wedding. Terrific experience for our May 2015 wedding. Nina was highly responsive and so helpful to work with -- especially for brides without much knowledge of classic music! She was flexible, offered great guidance and she and her husband played a lovely string duo that brought so much elegance and beauty to our ceremony. Atlantic strings were wonderful! Not only did the musicians sound beautiful at the ceremony, but Nina was a joy to work with. They were very accommodating, professional and above all, genuine. We used Atlantic Strings for our wedding ceremony in New Bedford, MA on 9/20/2014! Nina was a pleasure to work with and the entire group was fabulous! Nina helped us to sort out the flow of our ceremony (which was a complete Catholic mass) and worked directly with our soloist, leaving me available to focus on other things in the weeks leading up to the wedding. The music throughout the ceremony was flawless and the guests really enjoyed it! I never had to worry about a thing! I would highly recommend them!

I'm very glad that I chose Atlantic String to perform on my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. They did such a good job and most importantly they are very flexible. I originally booked them just for the ceremony, but I requested them to play for my cocktail hour as well only one day before the wedding and they were totally ok with it. Also due to the weather, they had to move from outdoor to indoor, and they didn't have any complain. The musicians are very friendly and their music made my wedding elegant and beautiful.

We loved our ceremony musicians from Atlantic Strings. We chose a violinist and cellist to perform at our ceremony and they performed all the pieces beautifully. Originally our ceremony was supposed to be on the beach, however of course it rained on the day of our wedding and we had to quickly change our venue to indoors. I never had to worry about my ceremony musicians as they arrived to the ceremony early to set-up and everything flowed seamlessly. So many of our guests raved how beautiful and touching the ceremony was.

I also loved the repertoire the musicians have at Atlantic Strings, as they play both modern and classical music, which is almost impossible to find and the prices were very reasonable. Nina was quick to respond to all of our requests and was awesome to work with. We would definitely recommend Atlantic Strings and wish we could do it all over again!

We had Atlantic Strings for the ceremony and cocktail hour. Gorgeous. They played Dvorak and pop arrangements. At one point during the cocktail hour I just stopped talking to people and stood in front of them for a few moments. They added true magic, as Dumbledore says, "A magic beyond all we do here."

As I was planning my wedding, there were two things I came to value above all else when it came to working with vendors 1. Professionalism and 2. Quality. Atlantic Strings absolutely nailed it on both.

Both during the wedding and since I've had multiple people ask me about the musicians and complimenting the high quality of their playing. It truly was spectacular and it was clear very quickly just how talented of a group they are. They also helped us decide whether we wanted an organ or just the quartet during the church service, ultimately we went with the quartet and it was a wonderful decision for us.

In addition to their playing, they were extremely professional and helpful. They provided recommendations for songs based on our style preferences and made sure everything ran smoothly day of. I would absolutely recommend Atlantic Strings to anyone who is looking for a string quartet to play at their wedding. You will not be disappointed!!

I can’t say enough good things about Atlantic Strings. My fiancée and I hired them for our March 2013 wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza to play during our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were phenomenal! First the basics, they showed up on time, dressed professionally, played impeccably, hit all the right cues and delivered on all of their promises. We received so many compliments on the strings both during the ceremony and the cocktail hour (they even played Journey at our request)- I can’t recommend hiring them enough. I spoke with numerous string vendors prior to picking Atlantic Strings, and what stood out for me with Atlantic Strings was the way Nina took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions. I felt like I could trust her and she would be an easy vendor to work with- which was definitely true, I didn’t have to stress out about them in the least. Nina was super helpful from the start and provided good advice as I was picking out the music for the ceremony- and took the time to explain why she made the suggestions that she did. I highly recommend Atlantic Strings to all brides (one of my friends is even using them for her wedding this coming October).

The musical talent and professionalism of Atlantic Strings is superb and I highly recommend them! We used Atlantic Strings for our wedding ceremony and they played beautiful music. After a lot of research on string quartets for our wedding ceremony we came across Atlantic Strings and we were blown away by their versatility and professionalism. They played a beautiful mix of poppy and traditional music for us as our guests arrived, through to our processional and as our guests departed. I was completely wowed by Atlantic Strings! We signed with Nina early in our wedding planning process and then a few weeks before the wedding we changed our direction. Nina and Atlantic Strings were extremely accomodating and were so easy to work with. They learned new songs for us and their performance at our ceremony and cocktail hour was spectacular. I absolutely loved having Atlantic Strings musicians at our wedding ceremony and reception. We planned our wedding in four weeks and the wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the Four Seasons Boston. Nina and her team were so professional and responsive. With only a four week lead time for planning, the pressure was on--and they delivered!! Even with short notice Nina was able to add some non-traditional pieces to our music line up. She even got us some of our favorite Kenny Chesney songs for strings!

The planning process was seamless, and the music was absolutely beautiful. We were so happy with the way everything turned out and the mix of music that we had on our special day. Atlantic Strings really catered to our needs and special requests and I would recommend them to anyone.

Nina form Atlantic Strings, is the directory and super friendly. Since our schedules were super packed she set up a Skype call with us during the holidays to go over details for our ceremony.

We knew we wanted a solo cellist...but that was about it. She helped suggest songs and gave us time to plan on our own as well.

One of the big speed bumps in planning the wedding was when weeks before the wedding my Catholic Church wrote me to say that the 'instrumental' music I had selected was not 'appropriate' for mass. Needless to say I was beyond upset. I had really wanted some more modern up beat music played for the recession...but the church would not budge. Nina was super calming and totally understanding of the terribly last min. change. She helped me figure out some other 'church acceptable' pieces to use that were still up beat and worked with my original intent.

Since I didn't get to the church till the music was already playing, I was happily pleased that it sounded just as I had imagined. Beautiful. The solo cellist filled the tiny church with beautiful music that set the mood for a very intimate ceremony.

I don't know where to begin in reviewing Atlantic Strings. They were absolutely fantastic and I would recommend them to ANYONE looking for a professional and highly talented musical ensemble for their wedding!

My now-husband and I planned our wedding in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from our current home in New York City while working full time and juggling far too many things at once. That said I was so grateful to have Atlantic Strings come into the picture. They not only had a full repertoire of music that we liked, but they were also able to suggest some wonderful options for us (that we ended up using and LOVING!)

From the second we spoke on the phone about the theme/tone of our wedding, I knew they "got it" and they pulled together a wonderful selection of songs with some input from us but also some excellent decisions of their own.

The day of our wedding was sunny and beautiful but the temperature decided to drop 20 degrees from the day before and a wind came out of nowhere (ah, North Carolina!). Of course, we had everything set up outside and despite the elements we decided to go ahead with the ceremony outdoors. Not to worry! Atlantic Strings played a 30 minute prelude in the cold wind as if it was nothing at all! It was incredible how professional they were. These guys could play through ANYTHING!

Looking back, I am so happy to have dealt with a group so organized, helpful and friendly. You don't really realize how important this is until you hear horror stories about other people's weddings. Everyone loved the music at out wedding and several people asked for contact information for the musicians after the fact.

If you are considering using Atlantic Strings for your big day, DO! And know that you will be in wonderful hands. Professionalism, talent, courtesy, and wit abound with these guys--you will love them as much as we did, I guarantee it.

My wife Cara and I felt like we hit the jackpot when we found Nina and The Atlantic Strings musicians!!! We had a trio of violin, viola, and upright bass for our ceremony fore and after. They harmoniously sauntered through some timeless classics of jazz, soul, and R&B that sounded perfect in our venue. What separates them is their professionalism. I never had to worry that they wouldn’t be at the right place, at the right time, ready to perform. That is key. As a bride, you have many, many balls in the air on your wedding day to consider. With Atlantic Strings, I knew they would be punctual, secure, properly dressed and on cue. All of that goes without saying that their performance was perfection! I spoke with them about the music my fiancé and I wanted and the timings and that was it. They know the drill! Our families were completely blown away by them! I received SO many complements from our guests. Their music is elegant and moving and they were truly inspirational on such an important day to us. I must add how they went above and beyond: I wanted my 6 year old cousin, who is studying the violin, to accompany them for “Here Comes the Bride.” Not only did they not question my crazy idea – but they embraced it. They met with my cousin ahead of the date and got him comfortable with the music and the plan. Everything went off without a hitch and I am truly grateful! I cannot give them a higher recommendation. Make an easy choice for your musical needs for your event and hire Atlantic Strings.

Atlantic Strings proved to be a highly professional group of musicians who were able to accomodate our every request. The performance was flawless - they played Pachelbel's Cannon and the Wagner Wedding March - and timing during the outdoor ceremony was great.

All the members were dressed as requested, showed up on time, and were invisible except for their beautiful music. We would highly recommend their services to any couple planning their wedding.

We booked Atlantic String’s string quartet for our wedding ceremony, and they were fantastic! They were a perfect complement to our outdoor ceremony, bringing a classic sound and elegance to our venue. They played prelude music (during seating), the wedding party processional, the bride’s processional, and the recessional. Atlantic String’s repertoire is vast, and there are plenty of classical, jazz, and contemporary songs to choose from. You can also choose to have songs that are not in their catalog arranged for a small fee, which we opted to do for our wine ceremony. They did an amazing job with that arrangement…it was perfect! Nina Bishop Nunn, the Director, was very easy to communicate with via email, and they used an easy, secure, online payment system (which we appreciated). We received a lot of compliments from our wedding guests about how good Atlantic Strings sounded and the lovely atmosphere that their presence created. We couldn’t agree more!

We hired a violinist and a cellist from Atlantic Strings. They played wonderfully, and were flexible enough to play the list of songs we wanted for our wedding. Our guests complimented them after our wedding. I can't recommend them enough!

Nina was very kind and knowledgable. The string trio was able to play all the songs I requested and they played them beautifully! Their music added such a special touch of romance and emotion to our ceremony!

Nina and Atlantic Strings were wonderful to work with and sounded beautiful at our wedding ceremony! We ended up having a string trio to save a little bit on cost (vs. the quartet) but the sound filled our church very nicely. Nine was VERY responsive to email when I had questions or changes in our program, and she was VERY flexible. We changed our songs a few times to comply with our church's requirements, and she was very understanding of all the changes. We even had them learn a song especially for us, that we were then told by our priest that we couldn't use in our ceremony, and Nina was very understanding. Also, we wanted our cousin/aunts to sing a few songs at our ceremony and Atlantic Strings was very open to doing this and even reached out to our cousin directly to coordinate. They rehearsed together the day of the wedding and everything sounded beautiful! The one thing I do want to mention is I know Nina/Atlantic Strings is not super familiar with the format/song requirements of a catholic mass wedding, so song selection was a bit more challenging for me and it was helpful to have someone (our cousin), who could provide them with the right cues to play during the mass. However, I think they are quickly gaining experience in this area and knowing this now, I am still extremely happy that we selected Atlantic Strings to play at our ceremony. We got so many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was and they definitely contributed to that and made the ceremony very memorable for us. Thank you again!

Great quartet!

My husband and I first met playing in an orchestra, so music was very important to us when planning our wedding. We hired a quartet from the Atlantic Strings for our ceremony (mostly classical music) and for the cocktail hour (classical and more modern music). We had a special song in mind that I wanted to walk down the aisle to, so Atlantic Strings arranged the song for us -- our special song made the moment even more magical! It was very easy to work with Nina Bishop Dunn, and we really appreciate that Atlantic Strings accommodated our many song requests!

gorgeous performance at our 8/11/23 wedding

had the pleasure of working with nina and atlantic strings for our wedding at the paulist center catholic church in august. atlantic strings was just gorgeous. they learned two songs specifically for us for our ceremony... each of which was performed flawlessly.
having them welcome our guests with classical selections was the best way to start our perfect day. i cannot recommend them enough!

My wife Abbey and I couldn't have been more pleased with the string trio you provided at our wedding ceremony. The group made it to the church early to set up and were very professional and easy to work with. All of the music went very smoothly and it was of such a high quality. Nina was great to work with, very responsive to my emails about figuring out the music for my wedding with a different soloist and the church music director. She worked everything out with them herself which helped a lot. The musicians were on time and professional and sounded great. highly recommended!

Adding live ceremony music makes a huge difference! I decided on a violin and a cell, however they have almost every musician possible. They played my ceremony and my cocktail hour! It was a wonderful touch. Although, I don't remember hearing it when I was walking down the aisle (emotions) I got to hear them again through my video and am so happy I decided on using them!

The violinist was in touch with me through the whole process and catered to my desires. They played every song I requested with no hesitation. She took a moment to introduce herself to me at the end of the cocktail hour!

Great service and very professional!
