Amazing photographer!
We booked Ashley for our wedding portrait session at Brookside Gardens, and we had the most wonderful experience working with her. From the very beginning she was friendly, prompt to respond to messages, super organized, and easy to work with. As soon as we arrived for the photo session she made us feel completely comfortable and at ease; I felt like I had known her for a long time. She captured all of the moments that we had wanted and more; over the course of two hours we shot in multiple locations, and she was comfortable coaching us in terms of poses that would look good while also allowing us to feel natural and totally at ease. As we moved around the garden Ashley was great at finding creative locations and unique angles. The pictures were delivered extremely quickly (faster than the two week timeline she had initially suggested) and turned out amazingly beautiful and romantic. She really understood what we were going for aesthetically and captured the warm, beautiful glow of a summer's day perfectly. I will always feel happy when I look back at these photos - not only are they gorgeous but they also express our feelings of love and happiness on that day. I would highly recommend Ashley - she is a wonderful professional as well as a truly awesome person to work with. -

We are so happy to have found Ashley to cover our wedding day to capture all of the details of a day that just flew by! Ashley is very easy to work with - from setting up our initial meeting to the wedding day and all of the communication in between, Ashley was just amazing. She made sure to capture all of the moments we would want (and more) including ensuring to capture requested posed shots with family. Our photos our absolutely beautiful - between the lighting, the color and the various mix of candid and posed shots, these photographs will help us remember our wedding day for years to come! Ashley is very professional and really fun to work with; we really liked her on a personal level! But most importantly, her photos are amazing and has the coolest effects that we could never have figured out how to do on our own.
As part of our package, we got an additional photo shoot (e.g. engagement photos), and as soon as we saw those photos, we knew that we had picked very well. The colors were so vibrant and the settings were creative (and not boring). She also helped us with our poses; we are not natural models. Ashley is really good at instructing women on how to hold themselves so that the pictures will come out best, such as not squishing our arms against our bodies, which makes our upper arms look larger. I still try to remember her techniques!
On our wedding day, Ashley kept the wedding party on time, which wasn't easy. Despite being pregnant (her due date was in two weeks) she maintained her professionalism and physical flexibility, even when confronted with unexpected circumstances. We had many guests and relatives requesting photo ops and a persistent threat of thunder showers during our outdoor, pre-ceremony photo shoot. Ashley seemed to have a plan and back-up plan for everything, which was likely gleaned from her vast experience and expertise. She has an eye for creativity and a unique vision for finding the perfect lighting or angle in every moment.
During our wedding, we were amazed by Ashley’s ability to both blend into the room and take command of the situation when necessary. She exudes the quiet confidence required to keep your guests and relatives from distracting from wedding pictures or attempting to control the staging of the pictures (yes, we have some difficult relatives, and Ashley handled them respectfully and firmly). Because we had already set up a list of must-have photos (e.g. with particular relatives), she politely removed uninvited friends and relatives from photos that they were not supposed to be in. Later in the evening, she got fantastic candid shots of our friends dancing. Since she took multiple photos of all our (100+ guests), we sent pictures of our guests to them as part of our thank you notes, which our guests loved.
We debated whether to get a wedding album (additional) and are so glad that we did because it is so nice to have a compilation of our favorite photographs and memories of us with our family and friends. It also looks really classy and is a nice addition to our living room.
We enjoyed working with Ashley from our initial consultation to the engagement shoot, wedding day, and final meeting. We highly recommend Ashley Michelle Photography!! -

Suffice to say, Ashley does a great job. She is organized and professional. The lighting is impeccable. She sends out a form closer to the wedding asking you for the specific shots/images you want captured, and then discusses it with you in detail. Would definitely recommend her to others!

Ashley is just the best- from booking to wedding day!
We are so thrilled that we received a recommendation to reach out to Ashley to photograph our wedding- it was the absolute best decision. Ashley's work is just incredible and we could not be happier with how our wedding photos turned out. Not only is her work amazing, she is such a joy to work with- she made us both feel extremely comfortable which really helped make the photos as amazing as they are. Additionally, Ashley met with us multiple times before (by phone and in person) to ensure all of our "must-have" photos would be taken. Her portfolio truly stood out from the pack and once we started talking to her and meeting with her, we knew immediately that we had the right photographer for us! From our engagement shoot to the actual wedding day, Ashley listened to our needs and incorporated them into her photos. When we called Ashley, she actually wanted to meet in person, which really impressed us. We felt an instant connection with her and left that initial meeting having made a new friend. She was so genuine and kind and really helped us feel comfortable and relaxed. After spending time with her during our engagement session, we were so confident that we had made an amazing decision for our wedding day. Not only did she capture our wedding moments in amazing detail and creative perspectives, but she really made us feel special and happy. We never felt rushed or like we were wasting time. Bayly Sent on 05/19/2015We got married at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and I was really worried about finding a photographer who could manage the lighting there, especially on the tanks. I was so afraid of glare making everything look awful. I'm so glad I found Ashley! She is an incredibly talented photographer with an artist's eye for details. Our pictures are fantastic, especially the photos of the tanks. Ashley uses top-of-the-line equipment, and brings a lighting assistant, as well as simply knowing her profession incredibly well.
I'm also very glad that Ashley includes an engagement photo session in her packages. We weren't sure if we wanted to do one, but again, Ashley's experience here was invaluable. The engagement photo session let us get to know her, and helped us practice posing so that it was effortless on the big day.
The pictures were promptly delivered on a personal website and a flash drive, and I couldn't be happier with them! We will be getting an album designed by Ashley as well, and I cannot wait!

Ashley responds to every email or phone call and is so easy to work with. She was great at making us feel comfortable during our engagement photo session and the photos are absolutely breathtaking! Ashley was attentive to every detail and did a great job making me feel calm and relaxed on the wedding day! Ashley is unbelievably creative and we are so anxious to see our wedding day photos! I would recommend her to anyone looking for outstanding service and photos! -

Her attention to detail is exact and she is willing to do what you want, even if you are picky or think outside the box (as I can be). She has done several portrait sessions for me, and I cherish them all. She makes clients feel at ease and is completely professional. As an events planner, I would recommend her to any bride in the DC/MD/VA area. -

User917102 Sent on 08/06/2012Ashely was great! So many people have complimented our photos and we were very pleased with both her and her work. She is very flexible and has fun ideas and props. The clear umbrellas she brought to our wedding made some of the best pictures. She handled the rainy weather great and it didn't seem to phase her...she took it all in stride and used it to her advantage.
One of the most important things in a wedding photographer is someone you feel comfortable with and Ashely made us feel just that. She was so patient, even when I started growing tired of having my picture taken :)
One of the best parts was that she surprised us by setting up a slideshow at our wedding from our pictures earlier in the afternoon. Our guest really enjoyed it and I appreciated it, especially since she was solo and was able to go above and beyond while not missing a single important shot. Lastly she sent us a link with a slideshow of us, our story, and a way for us and our guests to purchase photos, lots of time and attention was put into this, not to mention her awesome blog of us.
My only wish is we had more than 10 days to pick our favorite pictures to be printed to get the discount... seems a bit rushed but it will force us to make the decision and not put it off.
We plan to use Ashley in the future for when we have kids as she takes awesome family photos too. She has a real talent and we wish her much success in the future. -

She is on top of things and we got our wedding photos on our USB drive back in just a couple weeks!!! The photography experience was awesome, but for the amount of money we put out I wish we would have gotten an album and prints with it, not have to pay an additional fee to get them. Overall, she is creative and fun and anyone who has her as their photographer would be taken away by how great of picture quality and service they are getting. Thank you for the wedding memories.
