I do not say this lightly, but having Ash as our wedding photographer was hands down the best decision during our planning process. A vendor that turned friend, then turned into to what felt like family. I initially had a hard time choosing a photographer. When I contacted Ash she was prompt in her response, and organized regarding our phone call. Once I talked to her I felt her energy and passion and knew she was the one we wanted to book. At the time we were living in NYC with plans to move back to CA. We were hoping to do engagement photos on the east coast to commemorate our time there. Without hesitation she was willing to come and now we have the most amazing photos in Central Park and Brooklyn. When the pandemic hit and we had to change our wedding plans to our backyard wedding in Monterey, I had to cancel nearly all of our San Diego vendors. The one that I truly couldn't go without was Ash. She was so understanding and flexible regarding change of plans. She drove up for our wedding 1.2.21. It was absolutely magical and dreamy and she captured our love so perfectly, so raw, and natural. Because our wedding was intimate with parents only, her personality blended in so well with our family that it wasn't just a photographer there but felt like having an old friend join us on our special day. It poured rain more than expected, but she was so calm and encouraging. I have friends and family nonstop compliment our photos. She truly has an incredible gift and eye for those special moments and everything in between. If you want a photographer that is professional, enthusiastic, and will hands down give you photos that you could of only dreamt of, than Ash is your gal. Do not hesitate to book her. -

We cannot say enough kind words about Ash. She was the first vendor we booked for our wedding and knew we made the right decision within 5 minutes of meeting her for our engagement photos. She was flexible and so understanding when we had to postpone our wedding twice due to the pandemic. She is responsive, organized, thoughtful and truly goes above and beyond - not to mention her photos are INCREDIBLE. She went to our venue the day prior to scope out locations for our photos, which allowed us to join part of our cocktail hour because she was so efficient. She also plays music while taking photos, which makes it so much more fun and relaxed! Our wedding would not have been the same without her and we would highly recommend her. -

Hiring Ashley as our wedding photographers was one of the BEST decisions we made throughout our entire wedding planning process. Not only is Ashley incredibly good at what she does - our engagement photos and entire wedding gallery were stunning - she is also fun, kind and a blast to work with. My husband and I aren't models nor are we overly comfortable in front of a camera, especially for an entire day. Ashley made all the photographs feel organic, natural and "us." She captured our day so effortlessly while managing to get shots that truly blew our mind. When I initially was searching for a photographer, I found a lot of photos/editing to be either too edited, too moody, too cold, etc. Ashley's photography style and editing is PERFECT. Our photos are warm, authentic and artistic but also timeless and classic. Ashley is also incredibly responsive, professional and FUN. Our family and friends loved her and she managed to execute multiple giant group family shots in what seemed like record time. Ash's second shooter for our wedding day, Alex, was wonderful, too -- they make a great team! Because of Ashley, my husband and I have photos that perfectly capture our special day and will help us remember it forever. We can't thank her or recommend her enough!!! -

Choosing Ash as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. My husband and I are both pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera, but Ashley made it super easy and fun from the start with our engagement shoot. She's the type of gal who you can feel totally comfortable with and the shots turn out INCREDIBLE. I can't recommend her enough! -

So lucky to have found Ashley!
We absolutely adored having Ashley as our engagement and wedding photographer! She was so fun and bubbly, and just what we needed as more introverted non-models. She was easy to talk to, plan with, and worked with our requests throughout the whole process. She even drove up to the mountains to take engagement photos with our furbaby, and trekked over boulders with us to get the perfect shot. For our wedding, she managed all the different family photos we needed and captured the special details we wanted to remember (like DIY projects and family mementos). We didn't hire a videographer, but her photos capture every emotion of the day. Everyone at the wedding loved Ashley and is still singing her praises! She not only has a natural talent, but is constantly trying new things. We are so happy with all of the photos she's given us, and highly recommend her for anyone planning an event!AshGabes Photography's reply:

Incredible!
Ashley is AMAZING!! My husband and I can't say enough good things about her. From the first time we met her for our engagement photos, she helped us to feel comfortable and be ourselves. There is really something special about Ashley. We had known her for 5 minutes, but she immediately put us at ease and we felt like we'd known her for ages. We are so unbelievably happy with our photos. She captured every aspect of our day so well. She is so professional and did an amazing job of making not only us but our wedding party and family feel comfortable in front of a camera. She has an eye for detail and always made sure my dress was just right etc for our shots. We love Ashley and her work and would highly recommend her! Thank you Ashley!!AshGabes Photography's reply:

You will love Ashley the moment you meet her! Her personality and laugh will have you relaxing in front of the camera in no time! She really knows how to ensure her couples are relaxed and enjoying the moment without being too intrusive. When she arrives she is polished and sharp looking. She is punctual and professional without being too stuffy. AND... you will feel like a movie star when you look at your wedding photos! This girl is super talented and I love working with her. I always recommend her to my couples! -

I originally found her Instagram and was obsessed with her work and aesthetic. I felt that she really brought out the best in couples in the most authentic beautiful way. She was so personable, kind, warm, professional and wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. Our photos turned out like magic. She completely understood what we were going for and the photos came out amazing. I highly recommend working with her and checking out more of her work.

She made my husband and I feel comfortable and have fun during our in-home engagement photos and on our big day!
We didn’t have a wedding planner or coordinator and Ashley was awesome in helping orchestrate family/group photos, seeing and recommending photo opportunities in the madness of the day, and noninvasively capturing every detail.
She really heard our preference for vibrant candid shots that depicted the fun party and really delivered. -

Emily Sent on 07/25/2018I wish I could put into words how incredible Ashley is! And I know this review won’t even do her justice but I’m going to do my best! I want to start off by saying my vendors truly are what made our wedding so amazing. I wouldn’t trade the vendors we had for the world. Ashley was such a joy to work with. She made everything so easy; from answering all of our random questions like how the lighting would work in our inside venues, to her ability to photograph my husband, his brother, and my brother, who are all 6’6” and above. We had her do our engagement photos, our wedding photos, and my grandma even hired her to take some family photos. Every single picture is perfect. She managed to capture all the emotions and personalities of everyone which was so special to me. She also made picture taking so fun and enjoyable. She has such a warm, joyful soul, and the love of what she does just radiates from her. Not only was she extremely professional, but she’s just someone you want to be around. I can’t tell you how nice it felt to have her there on our big day, not only because she’s so exuberant, but because I knew I could trust her to capture every special moment of the day. And even after the wedding she’s answered any question I’ve had, and I really feel like she’s a friend now. I highly, highly recommend Ashley for any of your photography needs. I hope everyone gets the chance to work with her! I know I’ll definitely be using her again!

Ashley was a pro at making us feel comfortable in front of the camera and capturing us (and our new puppy!!) perfectly and candidly. Ashley is personable, punctual, and extremely professional. She is also super easy and, maybe more importantly, super fun to work with! Plus, her turnaround was super fast!! We highly recommend working with her for any special occasion you are trying to capture - you will not be disappointed with her work!

I sent off what felt like a slew of emails to photographers. She was one of the first to respond. I feel like we hit it off right away! She sent us her rates & packages, but what I really appreciated was her willingness to meet us in person to go over them. She is personable, friendly, and professional. All of her rates & packages are reasonable and definitely worth every penny.
She and her second photographer were amazing the day of! They had already scouted our first look location (and found a gorgeous spot) and had a great day-of timeline laid out for us. We never felt rushed or inconvenienced. Taking photos was actually fun & something I enjoyed (and that's coming from a girl who HATES having her photo taken).
Ashley loves what she does, and it comes through in her work. My husband and I really appreciated the time and thoughtfulness she put into our photos as well. Our photos didn't feel "cookie-cutter"; they all felt organic and a reflection of "us." And if you take the time to look through her blog & galleries, you'll see it too. Each shoot is original; each feels fresh and organic. I don't know how she does it, but she excels at capturing you at both your most comfortable and your best. Amafel Sent on 12/11/2017Since your engagement and wedding photos are momentous events, why not have memorable, once-in-a-lifetime photos to capture those moments?! Ashley Gabrielson not only was easy to work with, but was willing to go the extra mile to get the photos we wanted. Whether it be engagement shoots in LA or at the sand dunes in Glamis and then to Palm Springs for our wedding day, Ashley was game for anything. She is very communicative and professional and we always knew what to expect, especially when payments were due and when we would receive our photos. And when we did, we were over the moon at how amazing the photos turned out. We even received a one-of-a-kind, personalized USB with our final photos. We’ll remember our wedding for years to come and that was in part to Ashley in capturing many moments we can see and experience over and over through these pictures. Thank you Ashley!

While planning, Ashley was always SUPER responsive and always on-time for our appointments and calls. The day of she was equally comfortable encouraging us to act silly, wrangling our families, and capturing the smaller more intimate moments. Honestly, booking her is a no-brainer.
