Melissa Sent on 03/19/2010Although it has been almost a year since my wedding, I have decided to provide this review because I am still upset with the service and quality of photos and want others to avoid this company.
1. In planning this wedding, I used many checklists provided by various websites. On the photographer checklist one of the first questions to ask your photographer was whether or not they would be the actual photographer for your wedding. I specifically asked Stacey Artis on three occasions if he would be the photographer shooting my wedding. In all of the following cases, his response was an unequivocal yes.
First YES: On our initial meeting with my parents and my fiance as we reviewed his work and booked him for the date. Question was asked in front of all present and they all remember him saying that he would be primary photographer and would bring an assistant.
Second YES: At our engagement shoot - question was asked in front of my fiance who remembers the conversation.
Third YES: On the phone 1 week prior to the wedding, as I was confirming details for all vendors. I again asked if he would be shooting the wedding and he responded yes.

2. On the day of the wedding, Stacey did not show up. Instead, two of his assistant photographers arrived. Because I was deadset on having a wonderful day, I did not ask where Stacey was because we were pressed for time and it was a hectic day and I did not want to be upset about anything. I trusted that the two photographers he sent would provide professional service. I was wrong. The photographer that was sent to shoot the girls was wearing a white blouse unbuttoned well below her cleavage and a short black skirt. Her attire was far from professional, it was more a "clubbing" outfit geared to picking up men. And trust me, the men noticed. It crossed my mind to say something but I didn't figure that she had an additional change of appropriate clothing in her car so I just went with it. My mother and guests were dumbfounded that I wouldn't say anything - but again I didn't want to get upset. It wasn't like I could put the wedding on hold while we waited for Stacey to answer his cell phone.
3. In addition to the inappropriate clothing, that photographer took several photographs of my nieces by themselves and offered my sister-in-law a business card for photography services - WHILE SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SHOOTING MY WEDDING. Some of the shots of my nieces that were taken were not included in the proofs. We still have no explanation of where those photos are and why they were not provided to us.
4. The photographer sent to shoot the guys was horrible. The pictures were embarrassing - I could have lined them up in a straight line and made sure that no one was looking at the camera and taken a picture. I'm not saying that the guys are photogenic but I'm sure another photographer could have at least gotten a few shots of them all looking at the camera at one time AND maybe done a little artistic photography by placing them in something other than a straight line.
My wedding pictures were nothing like the albums of Stacey's work that I was presented during our initial meeting. Even a year later, I am still furious at the deception of Stacey Artis and would never recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer.
