Great tour Visit
My fiance and I met with the event manager Kathy Cameron. She was amazing! She was very helpful and friendly. She was also able to answer and questions we had that day. -

Amazing experience!
Arden Hills did an amazing job helping us plan and execute our wedding! From the first day we met with them to the big day, they were always so friendly and helpful.
Any time I had a question/concern I would email Tiffani and she always responded in a timely manner. We had a lot of little requests and she always did her best to work with us. She was also very helpful in showing us how to plan for the day of.
On the day of the wedding, Linda was our coordinator. She was super nice and helpful as well! Throughout the whole day she always checked on my husband and I to make sure we didn't need anything. She was really good at keeping things going on track and not wasting any time. We are so happy we had the opportunity to work with her. She's amazing!
We couldn't have asked for a better experience with Arden Hills! They really made planning our wedding easy and less stressful. We couldn't have been happier with our experience with them! -

Sandra is so helpful and very patient with me while planning my wedding! She has been nothing but kind and I would recommend any bride to be to check this place out as an option for their venue -

Love this Venue
The venue is beautiful and elegant. I love the big chalendier in the middle of the dance floor. Sandra is really helpful and has answer every question we had. -

The Arden Hills Team is truly amazing! From the first meeting with the booking coordinator to the catering manager to the day of coordinator for the wedding was all smooth. When planning my wedding, for majority of the time I was in another state and thought that planning a wedding here would be difficult but it was the opposite. Choosing Arden Hills for both my ceremony and reception was the best decision I ever made. The team was extremely responsive and responded to all my questions through email at a speedy time, the team communicated with one another and coordinated with the vendors prior to the wedding which made everything easier for myself. I highly recommend choosing Arden Hills. The venue was gorgeous and the gold room does not need a lot of décor because the room itself is gorgeous. -

Our wedding at Arden Hills was a fantastic experience. We just had the reception there as we had a church ceremony, but everything went absolutely smoothly. The ceremony went long so that threw the timeline off a bit, but the staff at Arden Hills adjusted without issue. Our guests loved the food, the setting was gorgeous in the Gold Room. Tiffeni was our main coordinator leading up to the event, and she made the process so smooth so there were no surprises on their end. And Tiffeni was awesome helping me with my own last minute adjustments here and there so that our day went off without a hitch. I would recommend Arden Hills to anyone looking for a wedding site without a single hesitation! -

We had our wedding here, and we couldn't have been happier with our entire experience with everyone here who made it possible. Our wedding was beautiful, and our guests are still talking about what an amazing time they had at our wedding at Arden Hills.
We had a rather large guest count, and everything turned out beautiful. We worked with Sandra Dominey and mainly Tiffeni Basa. They were quick to respond to my emails and calls during the planning stage, and worked with us to accommodate our needs, concerns, and any changes that were made last minute. Tiffeni is a sweetheart!
The Day-Of Coordinator, Linda, was also very sweet and a pleasure to work with. She made us all feel less stressed on our hectic day, met our needs, and was available. Thank you Linda!
The venue itself is just beautiful with its architecture and flowers. We got married in the Villa Garden Courtyard. The beauty of this to all you brides out there scouting wedding venues, is that you can get ready in the room upstairs in the Villa Building, and see your guests down in the courtyard from your room! This was fun and made for some great photos and videos. The guests had no idea I was upstairs seeing them all from the top!
Our reception was in the Gold Room, and that was also the largest and most beautiful of the reception rooms in my opinion.
Props to the salon at Arden Hills as well. The ladies there did my wedding hair and my MOH's wedding hair, and they were so nice to us from start to finish. Easy to work with and really sweet. And of course so talented!
Thank you Arden Hills for giving us an amazing, beautiful, and memorable wedding! -

We had our wedding at Arden hills and I am so happy I had my wedding there they are the best place to have your wedding and reception. I had Kathy as my consultant and my planner and she did wonderful she is the very best in the business she made my day wonderful and helped me with all the details she introduced me to the best DJ in the business and the best videographer she always got back to me when I contacted her she gave me great ideas and always helped me out for anything I needed. I recommend Arden hills for your wedding there grounds are beautiful they make your day wonderful!!!

After visiting a few locations, my wife and I stopped by Arden Hills in Sacramento and immediately fell in love. Not only were the employees professional, responsive, and fun, but the venue itself was beautiful. The sales manager we worked with was Kathy, and she was great. She made everything simple and fun during the beginning stage of the planning process.
There are two ceremony locations to choose: the Courtyard or the Villa Courtyard. We ended up choosing the regular Courtyard near the pools in the main facility, as we loved the size and layout, as well as the flowers and fountains all around. There are also three reception rooms to choose between, two with open windows and one with no windows, but mirrors on three walls to help open up the feel of the room. We chose this one due to the fact that we were having a daytime wedding, and wanted to have the lunch meal and dancing with dimmer lighting. The room (Heritage) could hold up to 150 people. Our wedding had around 100, so it was very comfortable and we had plenty of room for mingling and dancing.
During the 3 months leading up to the wedding, you will be assigned to one of two coordinators. We were lucky to have the pleasure of working with Stephanie. She was fun, efficient, and very helpful with any request we had. Arden Hills ended up being the perfect place for our wedding, and we hope this review encourages everyone planning a wedding to give Arden Hills a visit! Thank you again Kathy and Stephanie! -

Arden Hills was so accommodating from the very beginning to the end. We worked with Sandra to secure our date for the venue, and she was so responsive & timely in regards to all our correspondence. Tiffeni was our coordinator and she was so efficient and organized. She was very thorough during our meetings together and on the day of, her and the staff really executed a smooth and stress free evening. They really catered to all our needs.
The only thing I would recommend is that when serving cake, the servers attempt to put slices out to every seat, because at the end of the night, we went home with lots of cake leftovers, meanwhile guests said they wanted more cake or at least to try, but were not given any because they were not at their seat at the time- for example on the dancefloor. -

I was so happy & in love with everything about Arden Hills from the moment I saw it. Kathy was an intricate part in finalizing the decision. She was so warm & inviting and helped guide me through what I really needed for the big day (budget wise). I must have went to look at the venue every few months just be there felt so good. The ambience is priceless. Then I met my wedding coordinate, Tiffeni Basa! She was a complete joy to work with and helped ease all of my bride moments. I could email or call Tiffeni and she was prompt to get back to me with the greatest solutions. I even had our rehearsal dinner at The Olive Branch. It was intimate and private. Chris was great and made sure we had everything we needed that night. I could go on and on about this place and the amazing customer service. Our wedding was beautiful & everything ran so smoothly. The reception was a blast too and the food was to die for! The three most important things to me for this day were: 1.) My dress 2.) My venue 3.) My Photographer. I made sure these were my first 3 choices I made in that exact order. After the wedding day was over, I was still 150% confident I had made all the right choices and would do it again in a heart beat. If you haven't seen Arden Hills yet, it is a must see! You will not be disappointed, I promise! -

Arden Hills Salon Cabochon did a phenomenal job with hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids on my wedding day! Their wedding coordinator, Catherine, did a fantastic job coordinating all of our appointments and was extremely helpful. Shelley and Lexi did all of our hair and makeup and we were so happy with the end result. Each of my bridesmaids had a style that coordinated but fit each of their individual styles. We all felt beautiful and are so glad we went to Arden Hills for our hair and makeup! -

I was recently married here and I absolutely loved my wedding experience! I worked with Courtney, she was wonderful! Anything I needed Courtney made sure I had it! All the staff were very accommodating. I got married at the villa gardens, I highly recommend it. Especially if it's during the summer when everything is in bloom. Loved Arden Hills :) can't wait to come back here and celebrate my first anniversary next year! -

From the day of booking Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa for our wedding until after our wedding we were SO impressed with the service, Kathy and Shannon were willing to help every step of the way knowing my family was from out of town. This was the first venue that we looked at and we didn't look at any others after our first meeting. Kathy was so friendly and helpful. She answered all of our questions and gave us prices up front. We knew exactly what we would be getting and the price we would pay for it. The rooms were gorgeous. We picked the Eastern Terrace room for the ceremony and the Heritage Room for the reception. All of the staff was friendly and professional. Our coordinator Shannon was always ready to help with whatever she could and promptly answered all of my questions. I didn't have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding. The food was excellent and everything was perfect. I had a wonderful experience and I would recommend this venue in a heartbeat. -

Arden Hills Resort was the BEST place to hold my wedding. They were extremely helpful to me over the year it took to plan the wedding. my coordinator was there when ever I needed her and they accomadated me with anything I needed. Beautiful venue!
I loved having our wedding here! We booked about 1.5 years in advance and luckily got a good price. We were able to have the dessert plate charge waived because we had a dessert bar ($2pp). We were told, though, that the doors would slide completely open. Even a year and a half later, they did not operate them!
But overall, it was a beautiful wedding! -

I recently had my wedding here. I was lured by the ambiance and beauty of the venue. My ceremony was in the villa gardens, reception in the heritage room. We paid $7,511.00 for a Saturday wedding. Everything was included in the price. Food, tables, chairs, linens, napkins, setup, bridal suite to get ready in and stay overnight, complimentary breakfast the next morning, a day of coordinator, oh and let's not forget the OPEN BAR! All I needed to worry about were my special touches, the flowers and cake. They even cleaned everything up the night of and put all of our stuff together in one place to take home the next day. I feel it was a great value.
There responsiveness to emails isn't the best, but they usually get back to you within a few weeks. I figured it was because they are constantly busy and have multiple weddings every weekend. There were a few hiccups along the way. They lost our ring bearer pillow the day of the wedding. Luckily our coordinator had a spare she could lend us so they made it right. We also had one of our flower girl baskets come up missing. That was never found. Overall, they did a phenomenal job, I was very happy and glad we chose this venue. -

I only deducted from responsiveness for the villas because of my awful shower experience and poor customer service... They will put you on hold and then hang up. They also lie about calling you back. So, DO book the venue and DON'T book the villas! -

Absolutely beautiful venue for the ceremony and reception. Our wedding was picture perfect, what every bride dreams of. The coordinator was very helpful and responded to every e-mail the very next business day. The food was amazing, all of my guests commented that it was delicious and a gorgeous wedding. My husband and the wedding party even stayed the night at the bed and breakfast the night of the wedding, and it was just amazing. My only concern was that the kitchen at the bed and breakfast was closed and locked that night, which we were not told was going to happen and my pregnant bridesmaid had put food in the fridge earlier in the day, and she was not able to eat it when we returned after the ceremony. Other than that, everything was wonderful and on schedule. -

I had my wedding at Arden Hills Resort on 09/22/2012. Let me say WOW this place was amazing! We had an absolute amazing night and will have WONDERFUL memories. I am not sure if I can do another review on the coordinator so I will do it on here. I had Shannon Hall as my coordinator and man oh man did she make my life and my mothers life easy to plan this wedding! We did majority of our decorations ourselves and budgeted as much as we could! (i.e., instead of renting table cloths bought our own for half price, etc) and Shannon was completly cool with it and let us bring in whatever stuff we wanted/needed to make our night wonderful! Only reason I took half a star off is because they mixed up 2 of our table numbers and my family ended up sitting alone and on the complete opposite side and then our friends who's tabel it got mixed with ended up sitting alone on the other side. Other than that everything was perfect! Got tones of complimants on the food and service, tones of complimants on the venue (we chose the villa gardens ceremony spot and the heritage room for reception) Arden Hills gives you a great foundation to make the places your own beautiful day! Loved it here and would recommend! I gave half star off of value, well because it was EXPENSIVE..BUT you get what you pay for and we defenitly got the best of the best service!!! After having everything planned and organized our wedding planner quite 2 weeks before our wedding day& our priest had a stroke. They were very quick to inform us and meet as many times necessary to make me & husband happy so we feel comfortable going to our wedding day. Everything went smooth and was lovely. They were very helpful along the way .. nothing was rushed and no huge disasters. Friendly, professional staff! -

Arden Hills Resort is a beautiful paradise for anyone longing for an exotic, romantic ceremony and elegant reception. The journey to the altar can be difficult at times but the staff from start to finish are there for you! They answered all my questions, took my family on countless tours so I could show them, and we're all very friendly. I would suggest getting an outside day-of coordinator because once my reception started my day-of coordinator that came with the Arden Hills package I purchased was no where to be found. So when it came to cake cutting(we couldn't find a knife), getting the sparklers ready(didn't know where they were or the lighters), and other little things I found myself, mom and others having to talk with the serving staff in order to get things done. At one point I was down on my hands and knees going through all our stuff under the tables looking for sparklers instead of enjoying our reception. However, the ceremony went off without a hitch and Shannon came to the rescue whenever we needed her! Overall the experience was definitely five stars worthy, the food was amazing, the staff was friendly, and it was the wedding of our dreams. -

I had my wedding at Arden Hills last weekend and it was amazing! I worked with Bettie and she was very helpful and wonderful. The whole staff was awesome on my wedding day. Everything went smoothly and as planned. I probably seen about 6 or 7 venues but when I seen this one I knew it was the one. Not only is the venue beautiful but it met my budget perfectly. I would highly recommend Arden Hills to everyone. The food is also delicious :) -

Our wedding at Arden Hills turned out to be so beautiful. The outdoor courtyard for the ceremony and Gold Room for the reception accomodated our large guest list (220) and all the existing flowers required little extra decoration. Our wedding coordinator, Shannon Hall, was so friendly and accomodating and ensured that the day ran smoothly. The main drawback was that it is a country club and the venue restricted access to most of the property which limited photo opportunities. Our guests seemed very happy with the food and service.

Arden Hills Resort Club and Spa is a beautiful place for a wedding venue. The team was great in making sure all our needs were met, however, they crank out weddings all the time so it's hard for them to remember who you are and what you need. I loved the venue, the food was AMAZING and the staff was friendly. They accommodate needs which is nice, just be prepared to plan your wedding alongside numerous other brides. -

The venue is gorgeous! I couldn't have imagined a better place than the villa to get married! However, there are quite a few restrictions with the villa that they do not mention before you book it for your ceremony. After everything it wasn't a big deal because the wedding was amazing, but they should be more straight forward about it. -

First of all, if I could give our coordinator,Tiffeni, a review all on her own she would definitely receive a 5/5. The issue was, the first coordinator I was assigned was getting married the week before I was. We had meetings with her…she was not organized and didn't listen to a thing I said. She never emailed me or called me back in a reasonable amount of time (a week) and that made me concerned. I requested a new coordinator. They didn't want to assign me a new one, but finally did. That is when we met Tiffeni. She was awesome! She was always organized, responded incredibly fast. She listened to what I wanted, and what I envisioned. Food tasting… If you are going to get married here then you need to go to multiple food tastings. They won’t explain to you that they rotate what items will be at each tasting. The food tasting doesn't have the salad or appetizers. You have to go to the bridal open house to taste those, they won’t explain that either. When I asked what time I could get in the bridal suite to get ready they told me 3pm, my ceremony start time was 5pm. When I booked I was under the impression the room would be available to me all day (they knew I lived out of the area). I had to book the suite Friday and Saturday night just to make sure it would be available. So they were able to get more money out of me that way. The linens did not go all the way to the ground, I was never told that! The linen company told me that when I was there getting napkins, so I ended up having to order linens also! During the reception they didn’t serve cake to all of the tables, some of the guests had to go get some. They didn’t fill water glasses throughout the night like we were told they would. On the bright side, our ceremony spot behind the Villas was BEAUTIFUL. The flowers were all in bloom, and groomed nicely. The ground and chairs were spotless; they did a great job making everything look clean and gorgeous. They don’t offer much detail information, so ask questions! -

Everything looked beautiful. There were a couple things that were forgotten, when we got to our head table, they never poured the champagne for our toasts. Arden Hills was visually EXACTLY what my husband and I were looking for in a venue. We wanted a Grecian/Tuscan type of feel which is immediately obvious upon entering the gate at Arden. Arden is an excellent venue, espeically if you're looking to have your ceremony and reception location in the same place. We did, so consider the convenience for your guests and don't make them travel twice. The Courtyard is beautiful as is and needs little to no decor, especially with the gorgeous flowers that are already in place. We simply added some aisle decor and a few flower petals that were dropped by the flower girls (no runner needed), so that saved us some money. The lighting fixtures, carpeting and other decor in the Gold Room are a little outdated, but some decent lighting and elegant decor is all you need to change the whole ambiance of the room. The food was incredible! Our guests are still complimenting the food almost 2 months later. The food on wedding day was even better than at the tasting. The staff is very professional but they are busy because they are a large venue and service many clients. Just be patient because they'll respond to you in time for all your deadlines. Sandra was excellent in her knowledge of the wedding business and is very updated on the new trends - plus she's beautiful so that's always a plus. Alicia was very helpful and flexible as our day-of coordinator. She accommodated our last minute changes with a smile. The Villa is a beautiful accommodation and staying on site makes the wedding night so much easier with no driving needed. However, Arden is strict on their rules, so read those in detail ahead of time because they won't bend on rules. Keep in mind that Arden caters to their preferred vendors, so choose the ones that are right FOR YOU and not for Arden. Also, Arden is a bit pricey, if that's a factor for you, but at the end of it all, they delivered amazing food, great drinks, a beautiful space, and professional staff to help us. Regardless of the venue you choose, I will ALWAYS recommend hiring an outside planner (not connected to any one venue) and allow them to do the majority of the communications for you. It will save you the stress and they know all the ins and outs of the wedding business. Either way, Arden Hills is an amazing wedding location and I'd do it all over again at the Arden. -

Arden Hills was a beautiful location, but there are a lot of weddings going on all the time there, so I didn't feel as special as I would have liked. i.e. as my ceremony was set up and I was looking at it before walking to my room to get dressed, a bridal party came in and did their wedding rehearsal there. A few drawbacks were, you have to go with one of their florists or pay a buyout fee, and they weren't as responsive as I would have liked. Otherwise, I loved my location. It was gorgeous and I got a lot of great response from guests. I would definitely recommend this venue. You get a DOC, which took a lot of stress off. The initial price tag looks high, but when you realize you are paying a flat fee (and not having to rent tables, chairs, find a caterer, etc.) it actually ended up being one of the best deals we found. Another major plus, was the bar was a flat fee per person. We had an open bar for five hours for about $18 per person. If you are hosting your event for people that like to drink, this is a good deal. The drawback though, was the champagne toast was ridiculously expensive ($5 per person for ONE GLASS OF CHAMPAGNE!) and we didn't end up going for for the chapagne toast. The food was also pretty good and we felt it was reasonably priced. -

Looking for a site to get married was a difficult task! I spent many nights search until I found Arden Hills. The locations was beautiful! I had three places on the property to choose from to get married, I fell in love with the flowers at the Villa! They took care of the catering I just had to choose the package I wanted. At first I thought they were to expensive, but once I priced the tables, chairs, table cloths, silverware, plates, napkins, and food individually they ended up being affordable.
The whole staff is very professional, the wedding went very smoothly, their were a couple little details they left out, but no body besides my self and my mom would of noticed. The one draw back is they do not have a place for the groom to get ready except the bathroom. But that is really the only negative, I would defiantly recommend Arden Hills to a friend. -

Arden Hills was my dream site for my wedding ceremony and reception. We booked almost two years in advance and were told by the event booker everything we wanted to hear - our options for set up, timing, food.. etc. Then, when it came closer to our wedding we were assigned a wedding coordinator - who gave us an entire set of different answers to he questions we had answered months before. We had to change a lot of our plans and it was added stress that no bride needs that close to her wedding.
It wasn't all bad - we had many bumps in the road, but when it came down to it, they did do a beautiful job and our wedding was perfect. I just wish the planning would have been a bit less stressful. -

My husband & I got married in March of 2014 & used Arden Hills (specifically, the gold room) for my reception venue, food, & planning. When I first saw the venue I was amazed at its beauty & felt that it really was the whole package as it had things many things a lot of other venues were lacking: nice built in bar, huge dance floor, good food, & large alcohol selection. We began working with Kathy in sales (who we loved) when we booked Arden Hills and then were moved onto a coordinator, which is when things went south. Our first coordinator apparently quit and no one informed us until I sent a bunch of emails that went unanswered and finally called our sales rep to get some information. There was a time between when our coordinator quit & they were hiring a new coordinator that we began working with Chris who I believe is the food and beverage manager and he was awesome! I know his job is not a day of coordinator, but honestly I wish we could have remained working with him! He answered all our questions and was awesome at returning emails. Not very long before our wedding we finally got hooked up with our coordinator Bettie and although she was nice, I never really felt connected with her. Overall, the reception worked out (mostly because we had an amazing MC who pulled everything together), but the chaos leading up to the day of made the planning kind of annoying, which was disappointing. Also, when I returned the next day to pick up all of my centerpieces, several things were missing including my cake knife and server, cake topper, & nice expensive wooden "Mr. & Mrs." signs that were on the head table. When I inquired about that I was met with little to no compassion and a refusal of responsibility, which was again annoying. Not everything was negative though, the room was remodeled right before our reception so it was all new and very elegant and beautiful and made for amazing pictures, but I am not sure it was worth the hassle and lost items. -

When we saw the venue we knew this was where we wanted to have our wedding. When we first talked to them everything sounded pefect but the closer we got to the date there were a lot of changes. The cook and wedding coordinator had left the facility so we had to work with a new cook and coordinator which made it a little hard since we loved the food we tried when we booked and we had to explain to the new wedding coordinator all our details again. At first we were frustrated but the facility worked with us and made sure we were satisfied with the services and even got the banquet manager to step in to make sure we were happy.
Throughout the planning everything went well, but during the day of our wedding. There were a few other weddings that same day so halfway through our wedding we lost our coordinator and timing was off, that frustrated us. With the other weddings going on it was a little hectic and we lost a few things since our bridal suite had people going in and out, since then they have built the villas so hopefully others will not have that problem. We stayed at the villas for our 1 year anniversary and they are gorgeous..... The only suggestion I would have would be for the wedding coordinator to focus on one wedding the whole time instead of trying to juggle 2 weddings on the same day, for the price we paid for services I don't think that is asking for that much. -

Overall, the event went smoothly. There were, however, a number of small mistakes throughout the evening. Flowers weren't transported from ceremony to reception, aisle runner was missing, and vases were not on the wedding party table as requested. The wedding coordination is great... UNTIL the reception begins, when no one is attentive to what is going on. We had a great wedding coordinator before the actual event from Courtney, so no complaint there. She is wonderful. But Arden Hills obviously splits the responsibilities and turns everything over to the less-than-competent banquet staff once the reception itself begins. We were constantly looking for someone to troubleshoot problems. We had to walk into the back room many times just to find help with problems of one sort or another. One table had to take more sparkling cider from another table because empty bottles were not being replaced as we had requested. There should have been someone on the ball, to watch, listen, and respond before problems arose. It is a beautiful venue but it lacks consistency in terms of wedding coordination from start to finish. -

Beautiful location, poorly run.
I chose this venue for the great deal we were given for a beautiful location “off season” but that was before Covid hit. Once things got rocky everything went down hill. We were put on hold for months while trying to figure out a backup option for our November 2020 wedding, when we finally got to talk to someone, in August, the only weekend we truly wanted to postpone to was the only one not available to us. We opted to choose a different date rather than get a refund and cancel with all our vendors and I will forever remember how many times I regretted that decision leading up to, and including the day of, our wedding. To keep it short, as I still plan on writing a longer review for multiple sites, here are the key disappointments we encountered: We were promised an end time of midnight, we have it in writing, but when our date changed and we had to sign a new contract that promise was not only refused but was flat out denied that it had ever been made. Even though the Capri Room (Bridal suite) was definitely included in our original package, we were told it was being thrown in as a result of having to reschedule because of Covid, nothing was done for us on that matter. Kathy has a very sweet disposition but I was often frustrated with how flippant and disconnected she could be because it led to many miscommunications; she did however step in to smooth out an issue that happened the day of the wedding. Because the day of our wedding I rented out the entire villa in order to avoid having other guests that we may have been in the way of (I’ve read some of the reviews lol) I was surprised when my group was aggressively told that we couldn’t be in the common area because, according to the rules, we COULD be in the area if we paid the cleaning fee, which at that point I was resigned to pay. It’s hard to do hair and makeup for 10 people in one room which is part of why I felt that renting the entire villa was the best option, you’d think that would be common logic but AH staff wasn’t happy about it. I was ready to talk to the GM about the situation but Kathy said she fixed the dispute and that we’d likely only have to pay the cleaning charge. In the end, the only thing that they had to worry about cleaning was the leftover food from their kitchen for our wedding, which unfortunately there was a lot of because dinner wasn’t very good so no one was interested in the leftovers. Kathy said they should waive the fee but honestly by that time I was done with trying to get anything from them. Arden Hills is not a venue trying to make brides/couples happy, they want your money and they want you to get in and get out without interrupting their daily business. I find it extremely sad that such a beautiful location is so poorly run as a wedding venue. Sydney and Linda were kind and helpful during the few times I interacted with them, they are part of why I gave more than one star. -

What exactly is a contract for????
Contracts apparently are O.K. to change for THEIR benefit per this Venue. Also, If you contract with an outside vendor and have cleared EVERY aspect prior with Arden Hills they can apparently make changes you are not aware of. Even though you are paying for it!
How they were voted #1 wedding venue is beyond me. Maybe in the past but not currently. Food was exceptional at the tasting and then just O.K. at our wedding. Stay away from the chicken, some said dry, many said it was raw. I know of one guest sick that night... I found out later there have been many complaints about this venue, not just the food but customer service after the sale.
Boy they can sell this place. Lots of Yes, Yes, Yes in the beginning then later on when I called them on the answers I had been given things changed.
Bring in your own wedding coordinator, they claim they provide one but she started the day by bring me out 25 min AFTER everyone was sitting waiting in the heat. My Dad asked her "what's going on?!" And she said whoops and ran off to get me. (111* that day) I ended up running my own wedding.
If you plan a morning wedding in the courtyard you will need to plan on paying for draping of this (Brand new) arbor they built or your pictures down the isle will have a striped effect. It also will block many guests view of you so they will only hear your ceremony. Their website does not show this new problem, I mean addition, to their courtyard. If they eventually cover it themselves it wont be a visual impairment to your photos. Guests views will still be blocked unless they sit on the far outside chairs from the isle.
The Gold ballroom is beautiful and I only did tall centerpieces and up lighting behind our sweetheart table. It needs nothing else. I did have to insist they clean the chairs prior to our reception, they were disgusting. The Bride room is tiny and filthy. -

I have mixed feelings about Arden hills. The venue was gorgeous and the food was fairly decent. So for those two aspects, you get a lot for your money. However, the entire process of dealing with the staff made me want to put my head through a wall (besides Stephanie, who I found easy to work with). The security staff was extremely rude to me the morning of the wedding while I was trying to figure out parking for my hair dresser. The worst was the sales person, Kathy. She was unprofessional. She also promised us many things that were simply not true. Luckily, I was able to get some of it in writing and it worked out in my favor. On the day of the wedding, my husband went to fix an issue we were told wouldn't be a problem and Kathy threw it in his face that they had already been so accommodating to us. Ummm, excuse me? We had an early wedding that we asked to start 1 hour earlier than normal. If that wasn't okay or such a big deal, then they should not have agreed to it. This is just a small sample of what I had to deal with when it came to Kathy. I wasn't able to work with Stephanie until a few months before the wedding so Kathy was my only point of contact for about a year; very frustrating. At the end of the day, my wedding was beautiful but it was very stressful getting to that point. -

Although our wedding coordinator was really great, Arden Hills as a company is horrible. Customer Service is NOT their forte. They do have an incredible venue, but that will only get them so far. The day of my wedding they treated my guests and my bridal party like garbage. I was incredibly embarrassed. After spending nearly $18,000 at their venue, they had the audacity to not let in a catered lunch I had delivered to my fiancee and his groomsman while they waited in the grooms suite. They made the guys order something from the bar first. Seriously? My $18,000 at Arden Hills alone was not enough??? Most of their staff is incompetent and rude. Our bridal suite in the villa lost its electricity 2 hours before the wedding and it took nearly 45 minutes to fix. The toilet broke 45 minutes before the ceremony and they never fixed it, my husband and I came back to our "honeymoon suite" in the villa at midnight to find a still broken toilet- how romantic. It's too bad such a beautiful venue has such horrible service. -

I agree 150% with one Yelp review on that says "Do not let your worst enemy book at event at Arden Hills." There is a reason 90 % of the reviews on Yelp are of the salon or the spa and not the actual event venue. A lot of the positive 4-5 star reviews are also from people who have ATTENDED a wedding or event but not actually been the person to book the event. The staff here is incompetent, rude, unprofessional and snooty - from the bored "I have better things to do" receptionist to the event managers who lack customer service skills and try to execute the most important (and possibly most expensive) day of your life with very little effort. Their website advertises a fancy, world-class venue and unparalleled service when in reality; all they are really after is your money. We booked our wedding ceremony and reception here in 2009 because we fell in love with the Villas. The Sales Manager sold us on how beautiful the Villas Garden was about all the perks and amenities of what it would be like to be the "Villas Bride and Groom." It was expensive, but we thought we were paying for quality as that was what they were supposed to be known for right? Wrong! There were so many things that went wrong that easily could've been avoided - it felt like no one cared to correct it, period! Not only was there a lack of communication skills and professionalism in the staff (especially the Managers and even General Manager), there was a huge lack in customer service and competence.
I would be more than happy to email or speak with anyone interested or even thinking about booking an event there to answer whatever questions you have about our experience. I would give you my time simply because I do not want you to go through the stress and frustrations that my husband and I went through. I have been in guest relations my whole career and cannot believe how much Arden Hills lacks. They will take your money and all you'll be left with are pretty pictures of the garden and the outside of the Villas. If you book here, you'll basically only be paying for the photo opportunities and NOT quality, service or execution. Please check into alternative venues in Sacramento before you even think about touring this place. This place is just not worth the time, effort, patience or money it takes to finding an event/wedding venue.

The venue is gorgeous, and the coordinators are great. The salon did an alright job on my hair and makeup. (Poor lighting in there made it hard to blend my makeup properly.) The ceremony went well, and the food tasted great, although they did serve a different meat than what we asked for. The outlets apparently blew during the dj setting up, so they had to move the set up to the other side of the room (which I found out when the reception started and all the guests were already sitting). They threw out our cake serving and flute set box (with stuff in it) and it took them 5 months and several phone calls from me to finally get them replaced. And they didn't serve all of the different flavors of the cake, which we told them about at every meeting as well as when they were taking the cake back to cut it. I wouldn't recommend them . -

Horrible place to have a wedding. They will not serve the food you ordered to your guests and will then lie about it. They will not have enough wait staff at your reception to properly serve your guests. Your tables will remain uncleared. Your cake will not be served to everyone, once ceremoniously cut. If you spend the night before in one of their guest rooms, you will not be able to properly lock the patio door to secure things in the room. When you complain (as the Mother of the Bride) and ask them to fix this, they will, once again, lie to you that it has been accomplished. Lovely place to take pictures, but unless all your guests are dieting - have your reception somewhere else. -
