I highly recommend April and looking back, I wouldn't have wanted anyone else photographing my Charleston wedding. Not only does she have really amazing style and was open to my requests, but she almost served as a bonus bridesmaid/extra coordinator. She made me (and the groom!) feel as if we were supermodels who could do nothing wrong. They were SO organized + efficient that I was shocked we got our photographs done and still had time to socialize during cocktail hour/the reception. Thank you, April & Jared! -

April and Jared were absolutely amazing!! From our out of town engagement session to our wedding day and beyond. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Everything went smoothly, on time and stress free. From the attention to details to the big picture, nothing was missed! Even a sweet little text while we were on our honeymoon to check our email for a sneak peak of our pictures, which are absolutely stunning. Best investment ever!

April was recommended to us by a couple co-workers when we got engaged. Believe me when I say we are unbelievably happy with everything they did for us. We did our engagement & wedding with them and from the moment we reached out to book to the last moment of the wedding, we were deliriously happy with them. April was so communicative throughout the planning process. If we had questions, she was ready with an answer and suggestions. We had ideas of what we wanted and she made it happen, but also added her own expertise to it and the results were gorgeous. During the engagement shots, we went to downtown Charleston and got beautiful shots, but also a fun tour of the city. Jared knew so much about downtown and my now husband, who has lived here his whole life, learned new things from him! During the wedding, Jared was the first to ask us what we wanted to drink before our pictures. My husband was thrilled. 😂 I’m going to use her and Jared for every photo need in the future and you will not regret going with them. -

so glad I chose April!
I didn't cry on my wedding day, but I cried when I got the preview photos back from April. She and her husband were so easy to work with (and I practically spent half my wedding day with them) April was a huge help and asset on the day of. She helped guide things, helped with my bustle, and both her and Jared were very calm and cool. They were very professional, out of the way, and just so easy to work with. I'm so glad I chose April and Jared and I can't wait to get the rest of our photos back. Her style and photos are just beautiful. -

April and her husband are amazing! If in the craziness of your wedding day you want to know that the person you have to capture those moments you might miss, they are definitely the team! I put complete faith that even though a tropical storm was crashing my wedding April would make sure I got those pictures that give me all the feels. She did not disappoint. She truly is amazing at what she does, I could not be happier with having her capture our special day! -

April is an outstanding photographer and a great person to work with. Her and her husband did an amazing job at our wedding by not only photographing, but making sure my groom and I were happy the whole time. We also recently did an after wedding shoot on the beach in our wedding attire. She provided so many beautiful, high quality photos with a quick turnaround, we literally can’t decide on favorites. They’re all perfect. I highly recommend April Meachum Photography, hands down! -

I chose April for her light and airy style, candid shots, and talent with natural light. But what I learned is it's so much more important to vibe with your photographer than you realize. My now-husband and I met with April and her husband Jared (2nd shooter) when visiting CHS for our food tasting, and I'm so glad we did! They are the coolest, most laid-back people and we hit it off from the start! We went over shots and details I definitely liked and didn't like from other photography I've seen and from our engagement shot (different photographer), and they helped ease our minds immediately by telling us about their style and no pressure to do shots we aren't fond of. Our styles totally meshed and that really proved true on our wedding day! They were go-with-the flow and non-intrusive but stayed on top of the timeline and captured all the special moments! April took my getting ready shots, while Jared took shots of the guys. We loved her and my husband loved him. We asked for a lot of direction for poses and they provided just what we needed! They communicated well with each other about camera settings and angles throughout the whole day which was nice to know they were on the same page! We got our sneak peek shots (about 30 of them!!) back in a matter of just over 1 week, with the shots already edited! SUPER IMPRESSED with the quality and quick turn around! I typically don't like pictures of myself but we got so many we both LOVE just from the sneak peek alone! If you want to remember the beauty of your wedding and feel comfortable in front of the camera, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND April Meachum!! I just wish we lived closer so we could hire her for future photography needs! We are so excited to see the rest of our photos because we know they'll be just as stunning! -

Where do I begin. We met April at the Charleston Bridal show and found out she did our friends wedding! We wanted them immediately! We did engagement photos downtown and they were so much fun to work with! They got every shot you’d think you want and more! They are so sweet and nice! The wedding day April made sure to get all the details, the aunts, the grandmas, dads reaction and we even had time to do sunset photos 💗 I’m so thankful I had a great photographer and will be recommending her to others! -

I’m a plus size bride who is very self conscious about how I look in photos and fiancé is someone who doesn’t necessarily like to smile for pictures. So needless to say, I was a worried how our engagement photos were going to turn out. Well I had no cause for concern, because April went out of her way to make sure both my fiancé and I felt relaxed, comfortable and happy. We ended up with absolutely breathtaking photos that made me feel beautiful. I will treasure these pictures forever and can not wait to work with her again for my wedding later this year.
In my opinion, the photography was the most important purchase for the wedding other than the dress. I whole-heartedly recommend and am so honored to have had the opportunity to work with April. -

Meghan Sent on 08/09/2018We first met April and Jared in April 2017 when my fiance arranged for them to secretly photograph our engagement at the Boone Plantation in Charleston. They were absolutely fantastic!!! They were so relaxed, took our suggestions, and the photographs were absolutely beautiful! They also got us the photographs the same weekend! We were so impressed that we actually used them for our wedding one year later in Pennsylvania (July 2018). They traveled all the way to us, were very affordable, and blew us away for a second time! They took every single request we asked and turned it into reality. They kept us both so relaxed and were very aware of the schedule/timing. We could not be more pleased with the service we received and we would recommend April and Jared to anyone! We are in love with every photo, and we haven't even seem all of them yet :) We have already received so many compliments on our photos and we can't wait to see the rest of them!

They make you feel so comfortable in the most uncomfortable situations while taking photos and always kept us laughing. They both went above and beyond on our wedding day. Beginning from when I was getting ready until we walked out of the venue! All the little details, they were right by our side for! And the ending product was PERFECT! EVERYTHING I COULD HAVE WISHED FOR AND MORE! ❤️

April was great about giving us direction during our shoot, but also made sure to ask us about our preferences and if we wanted to do anything different. I’m in love with my pictures and she also had the best prices out of the everyone I looked at.

Mary Sent on 04/17/2018I cannot say enough good things about April and Jared. After finding April on Weddingwire I was going to settle with her lowest package covering only our wedding ceremony and not the reception the next weekend. She didn't push me but encouraged me to upgrade the package to the next level and utilize her services both weekend and I am SO thankful I did. I cannot imagine having to work out details with another photographer for the next weekend.
They arrived early and accommodated my request for my bridal portraits to be taken the day of the wedding, just a few hours before. They had never been to the plantation we chose in Edisto Island, SC but they researched it, arrived early to check it out, and were ready to shoot as soon as we were. Not only did April make us very comfortable behind the camera, she was creative with her photos, accommodated every request, and gave us many last minute tips to make the day go smoothly.
She also gave us a quick turnaround on some previews for the bridal portraits and a few of us as a couple so we could print the canvases to have at the reception the next weekend. THEY WERE AWESOME!
Fast forward to the next weekend at our reception in Columbia and they arrived early and even stayed later than they were supposed to to make sure they got every aspect of the reception from entrance to exit.
I'm telling you, you will not regret working with April and Jared. I cannot wait to see the rest of the photos! -

Becky Sent on 10/31/2017I do not know where to begin when I think about how amazing April and her husband, Jared, were to work with. We've been in touch with and working with both of them since the beginning of our engagement and got married last weekend. Throughout the entire process of wedding planning, April has been so attentive to both of us and has gone above and beyond expectation for a photographer. Being very detail-oriented myself, I appreciated April's attention to all of the specifics of what my now-husband and I wanted. Even before the wedding, she touched base multiple times to be sure that our timeline and vision for the big day was clear. On the day of the wedding, April went above and beyond in that she arrived early and helped in any way needed - including calming down this nervous bride. She and her husband staged our first-look shot perfectly and captured that precious moment perfectly. The rest of the day was a breeze because they made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. I trusted her vision and talent in capturing the rest of the day, and WOW, did she deliver. She made my husband and I look like movie stars in all of our shots and was also able to make sure the love and joy of our marriage shone through in each picture. Whether it was a shot of the groomsmen horsing around, a quiet moment between husband and wife, or the guests getting down on the dance floor, April and Jared made sure every detail was documented. I don't just recommend April Meachum Photography - I urge you to call her and experience her amazing work for yourself. She and her husband were a true blessing to making our special day perfect. Caroline Sent on 06/05/2017April and Jared were amazing from the beginning to the end. They are so quick to respond, they listen to you, and go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. I used them for engagement, bridal and wedding photos. Not once did I ever have to worry about them which is a huge relief especially the day of. All of my photos turned out better than I could ever have hoped. I would choose them again in a heartbeat. Hiring them as your photographer will be the best and easiest decision you will make for your big day! -
Kaitlyn Sent on 05/31/2018We loved working with April and her husband, Jared! I loved the look and feel of her pictures on her website, so we met to discuss exactly what we wanted. We ended up doing an engagement session and 8 hours day of, and we received exactly what we wanted! She and Jared were very professional and weren't overly visible throughout the ceremony and reception, but they were able to get amazing pictures. An added bonus, her services are very reasonably priced compared to other photographers in Charleston.
