  April was absolutely amazing to work with! We had our wedding in Charlottesville, but currently live in Atlanta, GA, so we met April over FaceTime. She was delightful to talk to and made us feel at ease, even over the phone. We loved her past work and thought she worked with our personalities perfectly, so we booked her. When we were visiting Charlottesville a month before our wedding, she met with us and worked with us to create our wedding timeline. After meeting with her, we felt this great weight lifted off our shoulders and knew we'd made the right decision picking April. The day of the wedding, she was relaxed and kind, but also took control of every chaotic room (in a great way!). We loved having April with us throughout the day and both of our families loved her presence at the reception. We've already gotten our sneak peaks back -- we are OBSESSED and can't wait to see the rest! Having April as our photographer was one of the best choices we made and we highly recommend her!

My husband and I are so thankful we hired April as our wedding photographer. ​There are plenty of amazing wedding photographers in the Charlottesville area, but two things put April in a league of her own: (1) her calming presence, kindness and genuine love for her clients and (2) her ability to truly capture the emotion of the day in a way that lets her client's love shine through. From the moment we first spoke with April​ she immediately put us at ease and made us feel completely relaxed and confident. Throughout the hectic wedding planning process, April was our rock, several times filling the role of counselor and wedding planner. ​On the day of our wedding, ​April's ability to inspire confidence and put everyone at ease​ was crucial and​ it really shows in the final product.   April is fantastic! In addition to being an amazingly talented photographer, she was so much fun to have around during our wedding. My husband and I were nervous in front of the camera but she made us feel so much more relaxed, which helped make the photos awesome. We are so glad she was there to capture our wedding day and absolutely love the photos she took for us.

  I cannot say enough good things about April Bennett! My husband and I were not at all comfortable in front of the camera, but April's professionalism and positive attitude immediately put us at ease! I think she captured the details of our day perfectly. But my favorite thing about April is that she truly captures the emotion and spirit of the day! Couldn't be happier with our pictures!

The day of the wedding she made us feel so calm and comfortable throughout the process and the final prints are absolutely stunning. She did an amazing job capturing the joy we felt on our wedding day and captured many fun candids and detail shots throughout the day.

  Let me start with the bottom line. You can’t go wrong with working with April. I have been a photo hobbyist for some time now so photos were one of the most important aspects of any wedding vendor for us. Photos are what you will use to bring back all the memories from the day and many moments you missed. I personally don’t like being photographed but April was upbeat and professional and able to get the most out of the couple. She focused on the needs of the couple first and her goal is to make sure you are both happy. She scouted the venue ahead of time to pick out great locations and assess lighting conditions. She does a great job upfront leading up to the wedding discussing your needs and explaining her photo style. I would consider her photos very much a work of art and not just a point and shoot. She clearly puts a lot of thought into the feeling of a photo. You can tell from her portfolio that she focuses on the moment and capturing emotion and action. She is great at adjusting to any weather conditions for an outdoor wedding as well as low light conditions during receptions. She was able to address (and surpass) all of our needs and didn’t miss any shots. On the technical side her equipment is top notch and she seamlessly switches equipment out to get the most out of any shot. She turned around a sample set of edited photos very quickly and turned around the full edited set shortly after. The website she uses to publish photos is easy to use, download images, and share with family. Her customer service is excellent and she was a calming energy during the sometimes stressful wedding day. But what really stands out are the quality of the photo she delivers. The colors and composition are truly amazing. April is very experienced and has a relationship with many other vendors in Cville so she was comfortable with the pace and order of events which allowed everything to go smoothly. She provides an incredible product at a great value - it was worth every penny.

  April is the best in every way. She is kind, genuine, flexible, caring and has an AMAZING eye for the right light/the perfect shot. She instructed myself and my family perfectly on how to pose and also let us be ourselves. One of my favorite things about April is her ability to make you feel like you are alone when she is shooting. I think that's why our first look photos are so genuine and beautiful. I would hire her again and again and again. I wish I was better with words to truly describe how perfectly she captured our day, our spirits, our joy and our moments.

  I cannot say enough good things about April. Photography was one of the most important things to me when planning our wedding, and I did extensive research when it came to choosing a photographer. I am so happy to be able to say that it was totally worth it since it lead me to April.
  
  Prior to the wedding, she was always available for questions, and had several tools to assist me in making sure she was aware of the types of photos I was interested in and specific people I wanted in photos. She called to check in multiple times prior to the wedding.
  
  She was amazing to work with, acting as a calming presence during the inevitable chaos of the day. We had a very large bridal party, as well as many members of the extended family that needed to be included in photos, and April did an amazing job keeping everyone on track and getting the formal pictures done so everyone could enjoy the day without getting frustrated or being demanding at all. She and her second shooter (Bethany) even managed to get some amazing pictures of our baby girl as well in the midst of capturing all the wedding moments.
  
  As for the pictures themselves, they are truly exceptional. April captured the emotions of the day so perfectly, from the anticipation of getting ready, the joy of the ceremony and the fun (and craziness!) of the reception. I am so thankful we will have these images to remember our amazing day.

  If 10 stars was an option, April is definitely 10.0/5.0 in all categories. She takes absolutely gorgeous photos, catching the true emotions of the day and using natural light to really capture the beauty. April is a truly amazingly talented and such genuine person who really loves her art and the people she works with. I just can't say enough good things about her. She was very responsive and excited in every email and phone call. With every new email we received, we got giddy excited again. With the photos being one of the biggest priorities for me, April put my mind at total ease. I knew she was going to be there and capture the day with gorgeous photos.   April Bennett is an amazing photographer. We would wholeheartedly recommend her, and have, to friends and family. She did an engagement session and covered our rehearsal dinner at the Paramount Theater and wedding at Mount Ida Farm. We had a package with hi-definition photos and a professional leather bound album. We absolutely love all of our photographs and will always be grateful to have such beautiful memories. April has the ability to make people feel comfortable in front of the camera and capture authentic moments of laughter, excitement, joy and warmth. Guests continue to compliment us on her and our photographs. I cannot say enough good things about April as a person, how easy it was to work with her and the quality of her work.

  So much more than just a photographer. She captures the emotion of the day and becomes one with each moment. She doesn't force anything and keeps it feeling natural so you can just enjoy your day. I barely noticed she was there and when I did it was never intrusive. Loved every moment and she captured it to share forever.

  My biggest concern was that I would feel uncomfortable in front of the
  camera and that it would show in my photos. After meeting April the morning of our wedding,
  I instantly felt relaxed and comfortable. I feel she captured us the way we naturally are.
  The formal photos do not look forced or posed, as I had initially feared they may.

We really do love our photos from the wedding - she went above and beyond what was expected which really showed through! Beforehand, it was very easy to communicate with her via phone or e-mail she always responded very quickly to everything which was made me feel really good as a bride. I would absolutely recommend April for your upcoming wedding!

  We love April! She goes out of her way to make sure everyone is comfortable. Her photos are unmatched and she was incredibly patient with our complicated schedule. She captured the day beautifully. It is impossible to choose which ones to print!

  We wanted to be sure that everyone who was part of our wedding would be on time and organized and April was fantastic at this; her professionalism and creativity (as well as examples of past work on her website) inspired confidence in us as clients.
  She was able to capture moments without people even realizing she was near them with a camera, she captured so many realistic moments that weren't posed at all.
  I definitely recommend April to any friends I have who are going to be needing a photographer. She makes a real effort to know what her clients want, and she follows through on that. April is also very fun and easygoing which makes things a lot easier on the big (sometimes stressful) day. We loved all of her great ideas (dock location, first look set, gorgeous photos of people important to us) and we would have never thought of such unique ways to capture all the different special parts of our wedding. The memory of that day will forever be alive in the photos April took.

  April’s photography is unparalleled. She captures her subjects so purely and powerfully, as if she is able to form a complete connection with each person in the click of her shutter, allowing the authentic moment to shine through. She is able to capture sensitive moments of true emotion again and again, and typically uses only the support of her natural surroundings to capture photographs that seem to supersede the boundaries of natural beauty. I can’t say enough wonderful things about April. She’s a joy to be around, she’s accommodating, humble, authentic, funny, and truly amazing at what she does.

  April worked hard before, during and after our wedding to discover which shots were most important to us and make sure the light and the feeling of our celebration came through. The result was a staggeringly large collection of luminous photos, both spontaneous and formal, which my husband and I will enjoy for the rest of our lives. Beyond her skill as a photographer the real treasure that April brought was her sensitivity, skill with people, boundless enthusiasm, and support of our experience as a whole. We could not have been happier!

  She was amazing!! April and I spoke at length about what I wanted, and valued in the photographs for my wedding. She gave me exactly what I wanted, and she was worth every penny. On top of that, she was such a calming and lovely presence before the event actually started, that having her around was a joy. During the wedding, she was so inconspicuous I hardly knew she was there, and was a little surprised when she was able to capture intimate moments so beautifully. She made the day, and is making the reminiscing so joyful with her work. I couldn't recommend her more highly!
