    The Antiguo Casino de Ponce is beautiful!! There is something magical about the Casino that we want to share with our family and friends :) Absolutely thrilled with the location that we chose for the ceremony/reception.

    El lugar simplemente es uno mágico. Algo que me encantó del Antiguo Casino es que no requiere de una gran inversión en decoración para que luzca hermoso. Gracias al personal del Casino que hizo de nuestro día uno especial.

    From the second I walked into the Antiguo Casino my mouth dropped at how beautiful this historic site is. I loved the history of the building, the accessible location, the elegance and uniqueness of this place. Our ceremony site was just steps away and I loved that our guests could just walk over for cocktail hour. The options and flexibility with the menu and the service we received was absolutely one of the best parts of our wedding. My whole family felt like VIP from the initial meeting, to the tasting and throughout our reception. I loved working with Diana and Marie Joel as well as the Chef during our tasting. The food was unique, rich tasting and definitely had that Puerto Rican touch we were hoping for! I would love to relive my wedding day and do it over and over again and would not change a thing! The place is so beautiful and the decor really stood out. Without a doubt the best place to get married!

    This is by far, the most beautiful venue in San Juan. When looking for a place for our wedding, we wanted something that stood out, and that didn't look like any other hotel ballroom. The second we walked into the Antiguo casino, we knew that was it.

    And it doesn't just stop there. The team is just amazing. We did the tasting a couple of month before the wedding, and they accommodated my husband and I, plus both sets of parents. The amount of food we were served was insane, and all so delicious. It was really hard to pick. After each dish, the chef would come out to discuss our options.

    The day of the wedding, everything was just magical. The staff and specially all the waiters, were so attentive to all the guests. This night couldn't have been more perfect. They even had a waiter just for me and the groom. He would keep the drinks and food coming and made sure we were OK and having fun. At the end of our reception, our waiter even came up to me and said "you've been jumping all night, I have some food for you back at your table if you're hungry". We really felt like VIP people on our wedding. The guests were also pleased with the service.

    Gianni and Diana were great... I could not have asked for a better place. I would highly recommend the casino to anyone getting married in Puerto rico. The place is just magical.

    Beautiful venue. Professional staff. Dream about a fairytale wedding? This is the place to host your wedding. Barely needs any decoration because it's so beautiful. And the chef is AMAZING! He will take up any challenge. We did a course menu with wine pairings. It was all delicious, did not taste like mass production caterer but like a fine restaurant! We are so happy to have the memories of our wedding from this place. Thank you Melissa, Beatriz, Diana, the chef, and all the staff. We are so grateful for everything and our guests were without words after this wedding. They all said that we had redefined the standards of weddings, that is thanks to you!!

    Our experience was fabulous. Love the sales, catering and venue management team. They worked fabulousely with us, our coordinator and vendors throughout the whole process. We truly enjoyed our magical wedding at this venue, and surely created great memories that will last a lifetime!

    It was the day of my dreams at the Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico. Diana Días was the event coordinator and she was more than helpful throughout the whole process. She arranged meeting with all the vendor, including my wedding planner and basically ran the show the day of the wedding. The Antiguo Casino de Puerto Rico has re-opened for less than a year and everything is completely well preserved. When you reserve it, you are able to use all the rooms, there are two small rooms on the first floor which we used for the cocktail, the patio and the ballroom for the dinner and party. It is amazing! In the heart of Old San Juan walking distance to Fort San Cristobal. Definitely the best choice in Puerto Rico!

    El lugar perfecto para la boda de tus suenos. Elegante salon, personal amable, seguridad en toda la actividad. Puedes sentirte segura en cualquier condicion climatica, ya que es bajo techo y en aire acondicionado. No hay el temor o preocupacion de depender de un buen clima para que lusca bien la actividad, como pasaria en otros lugares elegantes pero al aire libre como lo es el Castillo Serralles. Si el tiempo se pudiera regresar, volveria a celebrar nuestra boda en Antiguo Casino de Ponce. A pasos del centro de Ponce donde puedes complemetar fotos al exterior, y alojarte en los hoteles del alrededor. No tengo ni un solo comentario negativo en cuanto a la celebracion de nuestra boda.

    My daughters wedding was held at the casino and it was a wedding every one is still talking about because everything was so beautiful the service was awesome n the place magical. We are not from the area but they provided us with a listing for the catering, bands, florist and decoration everything was excelent we are so grateful for the service.     The Antiguo Casino is not only the most beautiful place in San Juan, but it also has a wonderful team. I was so impressed with their commitment to make the event a success. They even had a waiter just for me and the groom. He would keep the drinks and food coming and made sure we were OK and having fun. We really felt like VIP people on our wedding. The guests were also pleased with the service.

    Gianni and Diana were great... They did a lot of the setting and planning at the Casino, and were super patient during all the last minute changes that I had. I would highly recommend this place.

    Great price for a lovely place. It got a lot of rules, but it is a historic place...so I didn't mind. Don't need too much decoration because is absolutley great!

    The place is beautiful! And the price is outstanding. Unfortunately, the service is terrible. Be warned that you will not be able to get into the reception hall before 8 am ON THE DAY of your wedding. Also, they do not allow candles, flower petals, or custom ligthing. You're not allowed to put anything on the walls, or bring anything up or down through the main stairs (have to use a very old elevator in the back of the building). Their contract has about 20 pages of RESTRICTIONS.

    Responsiveness? Lets see, they decided to take vacations the whole MONTH when our balance was due, so they made us pay a month before we were supposed to. They also decided to take vacation the WHOLE WEEK before my wedding, so when I realized I had more people than expected and needed to mod the contract to get one extra table, there was no way to contact them to do so, not even a phone number or an email. If it wasn't because a few of the people that RSVPed couldn't make it at the end, I would've had guests standing at my wedding.

    Antiguo Casino de Ponce's reply:

    I sincerely regret that this has been your experience with our facilities. As attested by a lot of other clients, we have always been known for providing excellent service at affordable prices. Our facilities, which you found beautiful, have been well preserved because we value them and have kept the controls necessary to protect them. That has helped them to be considered a reception hall of excellence in the southern area for more than 20 years. I’d like to take a moment to comment on the issues mentioned, even when it’s been some time since your activity took place. Our customer’s satisfaction is of utmost importance to us.
    •Usually there is one activity per day and the day before your wedding there was also an activity, so cleaning and getting the place ready for use before delivery of the hall takes time. That is why 8 am is the time we have decided to allow access to the hall, the day of an activity. This guarantees the entire place is ready and fit for use. That reason prevents using the reception hall before 8am.

    • This is a historic place with government restrictions of its use to assure the best conservation of the building. That’s why we strive to protect and ensure the safety of the structure and of our guests so that future generations can enjoy the facilities. That’s the reason why we don’t allow custom lightings, flower petals on the tables and hanging anything on the walls. Our hall is beautiful, as you mention, so it doesn’t need a lot of decoration.

    • As the main hall is on a second floor catering, table clothes and similar articles may be carried thru the emergency stairs and our elevator so the main staircase in front is in perfect condition to be used for the entrance of the guests to the hall. This way we make sure it is kept clean and ready for that purpose. By the way, our elevator complies with all current standards and is certified by the appropriate authorities.

    • Your wedding reception was Sunday 7/27/08 and by our standards the balance must be paid one month before the event. This is our regular policy for all activities. For this reason the payment for the balance due was made on 6/20/08, not because we were on vacation, but because we were providing services as usual.
    • In addition the contract indicated that you had until 7/14/08 for amendments to the contract, for the addition of guests, changes in the rent or change of date. For this reason I contacted your wedding planner to verify that no changes were needed and we were told that they would not need contract amendments. Based on that we went on vacation from Monday 7/21/08 thru Sunday 7/27/08,

    All our requirement and contract clauses were given to Mr. Núñez when he signed them on 1/18/08.
    I hope it has cleared up any misunderstanding that led to your bad impression.
