We could not have asked for a more beautiful -and convenient -venue to get married. What a cool place.
Unlike other venues, this one felt personal. It wasn't a hotel or a place that looks 'overused'.Its a historic house, clean, homey, elegant. Our entire wedding was based on simple elegance and this venue supported that theme completely. Its right on the ocean with a drop down patio shielding from an ocean breeze if you don't want one. The staff is excellent and we had no glitches whatsoever. The pricing is really decent.Everyone loved this place. All of our guests felt as though they were on a beautiful vacation.

I have to specifically thank Carol who went above and beyond to make our rainy day wedding absolutely perfect. Throughout the entire process Carol was attentive to our inquiries and was always available to talk. She is incredibly friendly, professional, knowledgeable and most importantly on our wedding day - a calming force. Annenberg - Carol is an incredible asset and I will recommend this site for anyone looking for a wedding or business location based solely on our experience with her. (I say that because the venue itself is absolutely wonderful so that's just understood.) Great venue, professional people, and just a lovely and wonderful site rep!!!

Beautiful venue for an intimate wedding

I held my wedding at Annenberg's Splash Pad and Garden Terrace Room. The sites were perfect for our 60 guests. The venue coordinator was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the months leading up to the big day, and willing to have a phone call to answer questions and provide feedback. In February, the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour were chilly, but the setting was beautiful, exactly what we envisioned, and a great value for a space right on the beach!

We recently held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Annenberg Community Beach House, specifically the Marion Davies Guest House. It was the perfect venue for our old-hollywood inspired wedding! The location is perfect, right on the beach! And the house perfectly accommodated our 80 guest wedding. All of our guests raved about how perfect the venue was. Anyone considering the Annenberg should know that you are required to pick from their list of caterers for your event, but the list is pretty large. And you aren't allowed to have liquor at your event (beer, wine and champagne only). But this rule was fine with us, it made the bar cost cheaper. You also aren't allowed to have amplified music outside. Our wedding ceremony and reception were both held outside, but they have it set up to where your DJ can position his speakers facing out of the basement doors, and the sound quality was perfect! We loved this venue and couldn't be more happy with it!

We loved Annenberg. The setting at the Beach can't be beat. The Marion Davies Guesthouse offered elegance and sophistication. Loved the staircases on the garden patio for the ceremony. Sand and Sea room with adjacent view deck was perfect. Ideal for smaller weddings. We had 130 and we were at max capacity. It worked, but it would definitely be better if the guest count was smaller. Very romantic. Easy to work with the on-site coordinator. We were thrilled.

As far as the venue itself goes, the Annenberg Community Beach House can't be beat. It is right on the beach, has a modern feel in the event house or a classic feel in the guest house. The rates for reserving an area there are reasonable, especially in the low season. We loved getting use out of the lounge furniture they have on site in order to create a more romantic, laid back, atmosphere for some of the areas. Our main let-downs had to do with the staff.

We initially had one point of contact there. Then we were introduced to what would be our venue coordinator and our new point of contact. We were then introduced to a third person, who would be replacing our venue coordinator. Ultimately she was not the person who was present for our wedding, yet another coordinator was. All of these changes were met with some confusion on our part and we even received a very condescending email between staff members by mistake, which put a bad taste in our mouths. The initial staff we met with seemed nice enough, but the woman we wound up stuck with in the end was rude and patronizing in every exchange.

Pros of the venue are definitely the location and the cost. Though you are limited in catering choices, we were beyond happy with Garden of Eating as our caterer.

Cons are the inflexibility. Being threatened with a $1000 fine if we took one minute too long on clean up, being told to use the public restrooms by the beach as a bridal suite since we were not paying for space in the Marion Davies Guest House, the beat up chairs they demand you use for ceremonies - outside furniture is not allowed, were some of the major cons.

Over all, it was a beautiful venue for our wedding and was exactly what we wanted, it was just a less than pleasant experience dealing with the staff there.

We used the Sand and Sea Room + Deck for our rehearsal dinner. The private space was good since we had a few little children running around. Unfortunately the sun goes down pretty early in March so there was 0 visibility of the ocean (the view is really what you pay for) by the time our guests arrived at 6:45 pm. Also because you are by the ocean the temperature is a lot cooler so unless there are heat lamps (which you have to pay and provide yourself), no one will use the deck because it is too uncomfortably cold. You are also locked into their preferred list of vendors which we thought would be fine price-wise since there were several options, but for the ones who actually contacted us back, they were all really pricey and barely flexible with their menus for what we needed. So we ended up spending way more than we wanted to for a rehearsal dinner. Also be aware that you are required to pay insurance and a fee for them to hire a security guard... It's a beautiful venue during the day though.
