Highly Recommend Andy Sandy – Talented, Professional, and a Joy to Work With

We had the pleasure of working with Andy Sandy for our wedding in Dec 2024 and we’re so glad we chose him to capture our day. From our first interaction to receiving the final gallery, Andy was professional, easy to communicate with, and incredibly thoughtful in his approach.

On the day of the wedding, Andy showed up early, was calm and collected throughout, and made us feel totally at ease in front of the camera. He struck the perfect balance between giving just enough direction and letting moments unfold naturally. He was really great when it came to the family photos and helped capture some great moments with our little nieces and nephews.

The photos turned out beautifully—crisp, vibrant, and full of life. Andy captured everything from the big moments of the wedding to the reception to the quiet, intimate ones of the decor, getting ready to the first look. His eye for detail and composition is truly impressive, and we’re so grateful to have such a meaningful record of the day.

Funeral Shoot

hired Andy to DP and help shoot my Uncle's Funeral in Novato, CA. Andy was great to work with. He is a true professional and made sure we got all the shots we needed. His attention to detail is remarkable and his vision and understanding of video work is amazing. Funeral and Wedding are some of the hardest live events to shoot as you have to get everything on the go and you don't have the ability to reshoot the important moments. He had multiple cameras and audio equipment to capture everything the way we wanted it. I recommend using him for any type of video work. Thank you again Andy.

Professional, punctual, and great communication!!

I was looking for someone to videotape the moment I proposed to my gf/fiancee and Andy more than exceeded my expectations!! He was punctual, provided great communication before and after the proposal, and was more than prepared on the day of the event. The quality of the video was beyond what I expected as well as the photography. The turnaround time for delivery of the finished product was also a lot faster than I thought. In short, I'm glad I went with Andy!

Andy was fabulous

I was less than enthusiastic about wedding photos because its just not my thing. Andy understood my anxiety and produced wonderful, candid photos. Working with him was seamless, simple, and literally no-stress. We had a very small and intimate wedding in Saratoga and the photos are now family treasures. Greatest Day of My Life Captured

Andy was amazing! He did my engament shoot, we went over what I wanted and he made it happen! On my big day he made sure to capture the most important moments! He was truly invested in capturing every smile, every tear, and those awesome dance moves. I'm so happy he was my photographer/videographer. He and his team did an amazing job! Beautiful, stunning!

I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and planning. Everything went very smoothly and they took tons of beautiful photos. They were able to taken a photo of the everyone who attended the wedding in one big group shot (which I really really wanted). My album is gorgeous too! But the thing I was most impressed with was my wedding video. The highlight video and long video of the whole day were so well done. The production value was amazing. I knew it would be good but I was taken aback by how great it all turned out. I felt like the video was made by a Hollywood film company! Would definitely recommend.

Amazing Photos!

I am so happy we chose Andy to be our photographer! Andy is creative, hardworking and keeps you updated throughout the processes and the days leading up to the wedding when you're most stressed out. I absolutely love my wedding pictures. The whole wedding process is so stressful and having to make so many decisions, but Andy was the best choice for us. Excellent service

Andy is true professional, if you're like my wife and I and need directions on how to pose for all the different types of shots then Andy is the right guy. From the engagement shoot to the wedding, Andy was there before we even got there. He had all his equipment setup and ready to shoot, he scoped out all the possible places to shoot and found all the right lighting to get that perfect shot. He is also very open to suggestions and would do his style then do what we requested so we had both to choose from at the end of the day. He is very responsive via email and usually get a response within a few hours. Andy is also very professional with other vendors and was able to coordinate with our DJ and videographer during our ceremony to capture everything for us. Thank you for capture all of our magical moments on our wedding day from the dressing room to the end of the night.

The Most Hard-Working Photographer

My husband and I hired Andy to do both photo and video for our Chinese bridal party, wedding ceremony at San Francisco City Hall plus 2 outdoor SF locations, and Chinese dinner banquet at Koi Palace in Daly City. This consisted of 3 different days of shooting. Before the event days, we communicated through email and he was always very quick to respond to my questions and provide me with the information I requested for. He provided a clear contract with all details listed out so it was a very stress-free process.

On the bridal party day, he was very punctual and arrived at my mother-in-law’s home earlier than the planned meeting time. My husband and I met him for the first time that day and we immediately had a great first impression. He was very friendly and easy to work with. All of my family members complimented how hard working he was as he went around the house photographing every single detail. The house had lots of decorations and bridal food set up by my two mothers and he made sure to capture literally every inch. He was very respectful to all of my family when instructing everyone how to pose or organize in different areas of the home. He also can speak Vietnamese so it helped with the communication between him and my parents since they aren’t very fluent in English. I have a large family so there were many rotations of different groups for photos but he made it fun for everyone by offering suggestions for fun and candid poses. It made everyone feel more relaxed and less stiff. He really made us feel like we got all the shots we could possibly get. When it was time for him to leave, some of my family members requested for him to do some portrait photos of themselves and he was more than willing to take them. Everybody was happy and the event went smoothly.

A week later, we got married at San Francisco City Hall. Andy and his partner arrived earlier than planned and got all of their equipment set up and ready so we would have all the entrances of us and our family captured before the ceremony. He had done numerous wedding shoots at SF City Hall in the past so he was able to be like a tour guide for us during the entire event. Before the signing, he took portrait photos of us and our intimate family. Then he led us to the clerk office and told us everything to be expected. He captured our signing and the entire ceremony at the rotunda. He always made sure to get the best angles without people in the background and politely asked others to please move aside so we could get a great shot. We really appreciated this. Our ceremony was on a Friday, which is the busiest day at City Hall for marriages, so there were so tons of people everywhere. But Andy tried so hard for us and always found the open spots for our chance.

After taking every possible shot at City Hall, we headed out for an outdoor shoot at two locations of our choice in SF. First we went to Fort Point and took photos inside and around the Fort building. It was a very cold and windy day so Andy did his best to work fast and allow us time to warm up in between different shots. He was very considerate and always checked with us to make sure we were okay and could continue in the cold. We were able to walk to many different spots in the Fort for a nice variety of photos. Then we took some photos outside the Fort with the view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the background as well as some candid shots in the street. He always gave us fun suggestions which helped us get some amazing shots here. The next outdoor location we visited was Palace of Fine Arts. He also had past experience here so he knew great places for us to sit or pose at. He knew we were getting tired from the long day and it was still really cold outside so he did his best to shoot fast so we could get through the entire area quickly. He and his partner must’ve been really cold too but they never complained and were always enthusiastic to take more photos. By the time we were finished with all the photos, it was way past the promised shooting time frame, but Andy said to not worry about it and didn’t charge us extra. We were so so grateful.

The following day was our dinner banquet at Koi Palace. Once again, Andy and his partner arrived earlier than the expected meeting time and got to work photographing all the details possible inside the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was a bit tight since we had the max amount of tables allowed in the space but they did a great job maneuvering around and setting up equipment in areas that were out of the way for walking. When people started to arrive and sign in, he made sure to capture candid moments as well as take the posed photos with every single group. All of our events including our introductions, speeches, cake cutting, and table toasting were all caught on photo and video. He was so friendly to all of our guests and made everyone feel comfortable to take photos. The whole event went smoothly and we got everything we wanted captured.

All of our photos turned out amazing and we got so many compliments from friends and family. They will be treasured for years to come. Before meeting him we were camera shy people and didn’t know how to pose for anything. After working with him, we now feel like naturals standing in front of a camera. He always knew how to make us feel relaxed and comfortable. It really boosted our confidence and helped us get amazing photos that we never knew were possible. He is truly a hard worker who is passionate about his job. We could not have asked for a better photographer and were so lucky to have found him. We highly recommend Andy and his team to anyone for their special day.

I hired Andy last year for my daughters quinceanera party with 250+ guests. Her was very responsive, flexible to my ever changing schedule and extremely professional. My guests were so impressed with Andy and his crew. I don't know how he did it but Andy seemed to be everywhere all at once yet wasn't disruptive at all. I could assemble a video with the amount of pictures he took! Best of all the quality of his pictures and the angles were beyond what I had ever imagined. I ordered the album (I really recommend it) and it's one of my best keepsakes. I would recommend Andy to everyone I know and will definitely use him in the future.

Andy and his crew were super easy and fun to work with. He did precious shoots at our wedding venue so knew all where the best places to take shots were. Andy sat down with us multiple times to get a sense of who we were and what we hoped to see come through in our pics. Andy nailed it in both still shots and video. Andy and his team were amazing. When I arrived at the venue two hours before the ceremony, Andy and his team were already there taking photos and video footage. Andy greeted me at my car with a smile and a hug. He instantly put me at ease which resulted in natural authentic photos.
From start to finish Andy and his team took photos and video footage for 9 hours. I am amazed at the energy they have. You can clearly see the passion Andy has for his art. Many of our guests commented on how fantastic they were.
Words cannot describe how beautiful the photos and video came out. The photo album Andy made for us is beautiful. The photos and video are very high quality. The video is segmented into chapters which is perfect for showing the story of our day from start to finish. We asked Andy to select the music for each chapter of the video. He chose music that perfectly captured the emotions we were feeling.
I absolutely recommend Andy Sandy and am so lucky I found him.

Andy was great to work with. He was very responsive and evocative about his passion for his work. We worked out a plan that was best suited to our needs and what he offers. His flexibility and insistence that this was all about us is what impressed us the most.
He was on time and the photo shoot itself was fun. He did additional work for us without complaining and made sure he covered everything artistically speaking rather than being rigid about time etc. We reciprocated by adjusting the final payment to reflect his hard work.
As for the final product, we are very happy with the results and will recommend him with full enthusiasm.

Andy was great to work with. He photographed our wedding. We were lucky to have Andy to do a photoshoot for my son's bar mitzvah after a friends bailed out on us last minute. Andy is one of the most professional, pleasant, and reasonably-priced photographers in the Bay Area. His pricing is transparent: we agreed upfront, no hidden cost, and most importantly, he did not use our last minute request to jack up the price like some others, which I was very thankful for (Yes, I received a quote 10X what we paid Andy).

Andy called to discuss to make sure all details were covered. He not only arrived on time, but was the FIRST one to arrive at the ceremony! His pictures were amazing. We had taken the pictures in the synagogue before and none came out as sharp and clear as Andy's. He even driven down to the party (in another location) to take a few extra shots after the ceremony for us.

I have lived in the city long enough and know the cost of living here. If you ever need a great photographer to work some magic without paying for a king's ransom or being ripped off, I would highly recommend Andy.

Andy created a fantastic video for us and was very helpful in addressing my concerns. Unlike other vendors, he was willing to provide us with raw footage in addition to the edited videos, which captured everything we wanted to document. There's not much more we can say that hasn't already been said here on Yelp. My wife and I got married this past March and we had the great fortune of having Andy and his team taking our photos. Both of us were blown away at their professionalism and skill that day.

They were punctual, professional, had a great eye for using the surrounding background to compose shots and were very organized. Their "random", spur of the moment photos taken (not a posed picture) seemed so "alive" and looked like they were taken by a veteran photojournalist. Also, you have to see the camera utility belts they wore! All our guests were fascinated with how everything they needed was a simple click away on their belts. Need to change lenses? Click. Need to get additional memory cards? Click. Need to switch cameras? Click. Each were like Batman!

My wife and I were very happy with the photos they took that day - all 1,700! Every single photo taken did not require any touch up. The lighting, color, contrast and brightness on each photo Jpeg were perfect. I didn't think it was possible but the ones he touched up for our initial draft review looked even better. We're still in the process of selecting the photos to use in our album, and it will be more difficult as there isn't a single photo taken that we don't want to use!

In summary, we would both highly recommend Andy and his staff for your wedding or special function. It was truly a great experience working with them. We honestly don't believe you'll find better photographers anywhere.

Andy came to our wedding very well prepared and on time. Dressed professionally and all smiles.
Once the photo shoot session began at the beginning of our Chinese banquet wedding, he got all the guest organized so everything would be on time. He was around us most of the night and when he wasn't, it was because he was going around taking candids of the guests. This was great because once we got our photos, it was nice to see everyone having a genuinely great time.
So happy with how the night went and how the photos turned out. Definitely having him do photos at other events we might have in the future and recommendations to friends and family.

Andy was very professional and did a fantastic job on our engagement photos. Anyone can buy an expensive camera and take pictures. Andy separated himself by incorporating the environment, furniture, and lighting to make memorable photographs. He would not settle with just taking a picture, he constantly rearranged furniture, changed lenses, adjusted our postures, and repositioned himself until he found the perfect shot. I would recommend Andy to anyone. He is well worth the price.

There are many great qualities that my husband and I valued about Andy and this team. First, they are extremely hardworking! You can tell that his team works well together b/c each person knew their role and took direction from Andy. Throughout the day, they communicated via their headsets which was extremely vital in getting pictures from different angles and distance. This was also helpful during the "getting-ready" part of the day as my husband and I were getting ready in separate locations. Andy is a great leader and he knows exactly what he wants from his team. Andy works hard to get the shots that he wants. He understands lighting and will find the right location for pictures.

Andy is super responsive and accommodating to your needs. We were in regular contact during the months leading up to the wedding and it was easy to communicate with him our wedding schedule and any special requests we had (e.g., location of 1st look).

We are super happy with our pictures and video. We would absolutely recommend Andy to other couples getting married!

I was looking for a photographer to have my engagement photos redone as I did not have a good experience with my previous photographer. I stumbled upon Andy Sandy and I’m so glad that I did. Andy quickly responded to my inquiry and we were ready to do the shoot by the following week!! While emailing him, I told him about our concerns about not receiving enough instructions or feedback with our last shoot and I felt that we lost some good photos due to it. The day of our shoot, he was already there before us and ready to shoot. He listened to my concerns and made sure to give us directions and suggestions on new poses to ensure that we get the best shots. A few weeks later, we received over 100 photos! We went from not having any options from our first shoot to not knowing which of the amazing 100 shots we were going to choose for our save the dates! Every photo was beautiful! We liked him so much that we decided to hire him for our wedding photography and cancel our last photographer! We cannot wait until May 2018!! I know our pictures are going to come out beautiful!! I highly recommend him as he's extremely professional, knows so much about photography, and very affordable! Don't make the same mistake I did! You won' regret it!

Andy was at destination for wedding in KCMO, Kansas on Aug, 12 2017 and our family decided to hired him for family poitrait sesion. We hired Andy and his team for our wedding and they were amazing! Definitely worth the investment. Even when I was just inquiring about his services, Andy gave great customer service. He was very patient with me and answered the million questions I had before finally deciding to book him. Ahead of the wedding, Andy is very good at making sure everything is prepared for the day of, as far as scheduling, shot lists, etc. This was very helpful given that you have to worry about several other things for a wedding.

On the day of the wedding, Andy and his team were great. They knew how to keep the day moving to ensure all photos were captured with family, bridal party, etc.

The final product was beautiful! We were more than satisfied with the quality of the photos and our video. Andy even personally delivered the wedding album to my work!

This review is long overdue. He was our photographer for our civil wedding ceremony in SF City Hall. He was very professional. We live in LA and not quite familiar with the city hall. We picked it for its photogenic architecture. Without Andy we would have totally been lost around the city hall. He guided us from the moment we stepped in and from the time we stepped out. He is experienced and knows the ins and outs. I will surely recommend you and get a hold of you for any future events. Thanks Andy!

We booked Andy for a 2 hour session at SF City Hall ceremony and it was great! He was on time, very professional, and packed in over 200 shots. Andy really knows the venue and was able to lead us around the building to multiple settings. We are very satisfied with the photos. He provided all the photos digitally and the turnaround was quick!
We would highly recommend Andy if you are looking for someone to shoot your SF City Hall ceremony.

We had the honor of working with Andy and the staff of Andy Sandy Photo and Video and Makeup Home For Brides. We were impressed with our wedding photographs. Was much better than we expected. They did a great job at capturing the sights of our wedding day. On top of that, the slide show montage that was orchestrated was absolutely fabulous. Slide show montage displayed the essences of our special day in a very emotional collection. From the initial meeting with Andy, we were both excited to work with him. He was not only professional, but utterly easy to talk to. He listened intensely as we described what our wishes were. He assured us that he was the right person for the job and he was indeed. On the day of, he was punctual and had everything set up with time to spare. Andy and the staff were never in the way and did a great job blending in. There were times that I totally forgot that they were there. This was not an easy feat since we had five locations for our wedding: Bride's Place, Groom's Place, Andy Goldworthy's Wood Line, Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio in San Francisco, and Tai Wu Restaurant in Millbrae. Andy delivered the finished product to us in the time frame that he had promised.

We hired Andy and Sandy for our Cinematic Wedding Videography for our wedding in March of 2016 and couldn't be happier. We looked at so many different videographers and got to a point where we were seriously considering not having a video done at all. We were turned off by the lack of responsiveness, obscene pricing, terrible work product, etc., that we were seeing. We were told about A&S from a friend and former customer. We got in touch with them and were impressed from the start. They answered all of our questions and put us at ease. Their website is so informative as well. We were able to get a sense as to the quality and type of work they can do. And let me say, their pricing and packages are by far the best that we’ve seen (and we looked at a lot of vendors), especially considering the high quality of their work. In fact, the pricing seemed a little too good to be true leaving us uncertain, especially given our experiences with other vendors. However, when we spoke to Andy we got over that uncertainty pretty quick and were 100% sure that we wanted to work with them. What really put A&S over the top for us is their dedication to their work and quality. They went above and beyond in so many ways and their reasoning for this was that they just wanted to make sure that they did a good job…and a great job they did. We can’t stop watching our videos. Indeed, every time I watch them I’m taken back to that very special day, all the emotions, the happiness, the joy…A&S provided us with a great gift. Needless to say it’s hard to find a good videographer without seeing the final product which is of course impossible…and this was a great dilemma for us…you put yourself at risk, do the best research that you can, and just hope for the best. We couldn't be happier with the choice that we made in placing our trust in A&S and we'd make that choice again if we had to do it all over again. Thanks so much Andy and Sandy! ~Paul and Anna

We are SO glad we picked Andy to be our wedding photographer. He was professional, patient, kind, knowledgeable, and REALLY on top of his game. He really went above and beyond, as we had a couple of special requests and he totally accommodated us. My wife and I are nature girls, and he was able to capture our day with reverence for the natural beauty of our forest venue. And, like most people, we were working within a budget and his prices were very reasonable. We are VERY happy with the photos. I seriously can't recommend him enough...he'll come to your wedding, work is booty off, and you'll be very pleased with the pictures he takes.

My husband and I hired Andy Sandy Home for Brides as our wedding videographers on 11/8/15. We are so glad that we had chosen Andy's team as our videographers. From the very first meeting Andy responded promptly to emails/texts, was punctual, genuine, and accommodating. On our wedding day Andy's team arrived promptly, worked well with our photographers, and went above and beyond to capture the special moments that were dear to us. We cannot be any happier with our wedding highlight and video. I highly recommend Andy and Josh for any occasion. Josh directed our wedding highlight and video and all my friends and family have given praises on how professional and well done it was. My husband and I couldn't be any happier with the final product. In addition, Andy was very involved throughout the whole planning process of our wedding. Not only was he our videographer but he also gave us his expertise on our wedding timeline, so that things would run smoothly. I'm sooo happy and grateful to have chosen Andy and his team as our wedding photographer AND wedding videographer! He worked with me at every step of the process (before and after the actual wedding) to ensure that I would end up with finished products that I really LOVED! He met with me beforehand to assess the venue, he was willing to add some of my desired shots to his shot list, and he added tons of awesome ideas that I wouldn't have thought of, like having my husband and I take some "couple portraits" after dinner... those ended up being some of my favorite shots! Andy ended up sending me more gorgeous photos than he had promised, worked with me on edits for our album, and did such a great job on our video that I cried. Planning the day with Andy ahead of time had me really think through the timeline, which resulted in a fantastically smooth and pleasurable experience on the day of the wedding. Investing in one of his higher-end packages made this the largest single budget item for our wedding, but now that I've seen all the love, expertise and work he put into the process and how gorgeous everything turned out, I feel like we got the deal of a lifetime! I can't recommend Andy highly enough!

Long overdue review! I wish I could've gotten to this earlier to save anyone the trouble of researching for the perfect photographer. You will not regret working with Andy. Make life easier for yourself and just hire him now. I echo all the other glowing reviews on here - he is professional, personable, experienced, and genuinely cares about capturing your special day. From the get-go, he maps out everything in the contract and in email, so rest assured there won't be any surprises. From my first communication to even weeks *after* my wedding, Andy is extremely responsive and communicates very well. I had no trouble recognizing his effort in understanding what I wanted my wedding to look like, # of guests I planned to have, the venue, etc. I never worried about the photography portion of the wedding planning, even in the final days leading up to the event. The day of, Andy was very prompt and arrived at City Hall earlier than our scheduled time. I must say I feel embarrassed to have kept him waiting.

His introductory was very warm; he assured me that my hair and makeup looked great and gave us tips upon our arrival, given that it was a very busy day at City Hall for a Wednesday. He could sense that I was very nervous and stiff (thanks for dealing with me...), and had no problem leading my husband and I throughout the whole process. We took some portraits before the ceremony and even snuck in a few extra afterward at the popular spots in City Hall. Andy wanted to make sure we got our money's worth given the short amount of time we hired him for, which was 2 hours. Suffice to say, he doesn't waste any time. He took some shots even when we were waiting at the county clerk's office.

The delivery of our photos were beyond QUICK! His team included many variations (color, black and white), and even took the time to edit a few special ones. My friends and family were all very impressed - some even commented that they wish they hired Andy for their own wedding.

Andy was the photographer for our San Francisco Vietnamese and Western wedding hosted on December 18, 2015 at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio for about 140 people and 30 kids. Hands down, my husband and I rate him as 5 stars for his professionalism, creativity and fantastic photography skills. Even before signing any contract, during our initial conversation, several months before the wedding, Andy offered insight to a proposed timeline to how the wedding and reception should be planned. He was willing to spend over a half hour with me suggesting ideas on the series of events. I was so impressed with his expertise especially for a wedding and reception catering to both Vietnamese and Western guests.

Andy’s contract, while thorough and detailed, definitely helped us plan our photographs ahead of time, while leaving room for flexibility for spontaneous moments. Andy made a point of visiting the venue and the sites we wanted ahead of time. More importantly, Andy made sure there were no surprises- he clearly communicated his needs for the day:. Easy enough to plan for given enough notice. On the big day, he had arrived at the site well before hand and already planned many of his shots. In conclusion: all went as planned given Andy’s experience to make sure we had all our bases covered.

Along with our wedding planner, we give Andy all the credit for our amazing day. He was responsible for making this day run smoothly and most importantly on time. From his expertise, he already had an idea of what images he wanted and how to shoot. Our photos prior to the wedding were taken as planned, the shots with me, my husband and our wedding party were amazing. Immediately following the ceremony over 50 pictures with different family members were taken efficiently and Andy handled my large Asian family and our guests with respect while getting the job done.

One of the decisions I am glad I made for my wedding was to hire Andy as my photographer. He definitely went above and beyond what I thought a photographer would do for a client. When I first emailed him and booked him for seven hours, he offered to give me a free hour because he didn't believe that 7 hours would be enough after discussing my wedding timeline with him. He is very quick to respond to emails and will answer any questions you have. He will also work with other vendors on your day to coordinate with them.

On the day of, he came on time and he and his assistant started making my bed in the hotel room! I was astonished to say the least. Another thing he did that I thought was really sweet was that I was having my makeup done and mentioned to no one in particular that I was starving. Andy took it upon himself to grab a bagel I had brought and started tearing off bite-sized pieces and hand fed it to me! Talk about personalized service :)

Aside from his professionalism and service, he is also a great photographer. There were so many beautiful photos he took of our wedding and for the majority of it, I didn't even realize he was even there. He is very incognito but will also let you know when he wants to capture the special moments.

If you have any doubts, let me assure you that booking Andy will be one less headache you have to worry about for your wedding.

Andy did a wonderful job photographing our October wedding in Walnut Creek, CA. He arrived well before the agreed start time and got a multitude of great and diverse photos which we were really impressed with after seeing the results! It was a great pleasure to work with Andy. He definitely went above and beyond what was expected and I am glad that we went with Andy for our wedding photos.

Andy was very accommodating and drove to coffee shop that was convenient for me for our first meeting to go over the different package options. He came prepared with two suitcases full of some of his previous wedding photos (all of which were fantastically done). Andy listened carefully to what I wanted with the pictures and made helpful suggestions for things that I missed or didn’t think about. He asked follow-up questions which showed how he really wanted to capture exactly what I wanted.

We decided last minute to not have “first look” and “getting ready” pictures. Andy was very accommodating when we asked if we could shoot pictures before the wedding ceremony at a different location instead. We chose to take these pictures at our alma mater and Andy shot some amazing pictures there. His pictures captured the story of wedding day but also had some great artistic shots too. There was the perfect blend of photos that we could put into a picture book and that we could frame individually.

Andy worked tirelessly throughout our wedding ceremony and wedding reception to capture the candid moments as well as the group shots. He even set up extra cameras at our reception to capture video just so that we could have that footage. I really appreciated how organized Andy was with the group pictures too. It could be pretty hectic trying to gather everybody together, but Andy was patient and helped guide those pictures along.

Andy went above and beyond and worked tirelessly to capture our wedding day. He had a quick turnaround time when processing our photos and did an amazing job with the post processing.

I would recommend Andy for any photography needs in the future!

If you're looking for a photographer that is willing to listen to your vision of what your wedding photos should look like, Andy Sandy Photography is the one. My husband and I originally went through a highly recommended photographer that was suppose to take spectacular pictures for our wedding day, but the photos did not come out the way we wanted at all. I was very upset and frustrated with the results and my videographer referred me to Andy Sandy Photography. He walked me through what he does as a wedding photographer and what he expects of himself at such event compared with the result of our photos. Andy took the time and guided me through what is expected in wedding photos and what he can do to help make our nightmare go away. He was kind enough to help us react our wedding day photos for our wedding party, family photos, and photos of just us. He scheduled two photoshoots for us: one of just us and the other with our wedding party and family. He took many photos with different angles, used different sceneries from our wedding photo site, used different cameras to get different focus, and worked non-stop for hours to help capture unbelievable moments. On our wedding day we only had maybe 5 photos taken of the two of us and Andy was able to help us retake photos that looked as it it was the day of our wedding. He took the photos from our first photographer and the pictures he took and created an album that looked as if everything was taken on the same day. We are very happy with the result of this vendor and would recommend anyone who is looking for a quick responsive and tentative photographer. He listened to what we wanted and was very patient with us. I'm sure every girl has a "good side" in photos and Andy was able to see that on his own before I even said anything. He made sure I stood on a certain side or way and made sure my hair, veil and make up was set for every pose. Andy Sandy Photography turned our magical day's nightmare into a fairy tale.

If you are looking for an experienced, direction-giving, extremely talented photographer who has a great eye for detail and gives his all to making his clients happy...look no further! Andy Sandy delivers all of this and more.

He captures every critical moment in the best way possible, even those jaw-dropping moments that no one else sees. From working with lighting to creating the most attractive angles, Andy truly understands the importance of precise, natural, captivating imagery.

My situation was a little different than a normal private session. We had our photo shoot going on during my engagement party. Andy was very accommodating with this dynamic as he was able to single-handedly get candid photos and videos of our family, the entire proposal, and our private couple's shoot. The only thing I didn't like was having to end the shoot to get back to my party! Andy is so good that he is adamant about getting his clients warmed up and comfortable with him so that he can ultimately capture true, natural expressions. He wants it to be organic and effortless. He improvised with the outdoor setting and carefully chose the best places to take photos.

From booking the appointment to receiving every crystal clear and beautifully edited photo, I've been treated with the utmost professionalism, respect, and courteousness by Andy. It's not often that you come across people or businesses that provide this level of diligence. I will be booking him for all of my future shoots!

I'm going to preface this review with the fact that I'm also a photographer so it was a very difficult process for me to find someone to shoot our wedding that met my standards in terms of picture quality (after all, why would I want to pay an arm and a leg to someone to do something that I can do better myself?). After a long and exhaustive search of photographers in the greater Bay Area region, I'm happy to say that I found Andy.

The thing that drew me to Andy was his artistic style--he has an excellent eye for framing shots and an equally excellent eye during the post-processing phase (making sure the colors and tones are just right). In my professional opinion, Andy is in the top 10th percentile when it comes to other Bay Area photographers in this regard.

Overall, my wife and I are extremely pleased with our decision to have Andy cover our wedding. The level of experience, quality, value, and professionalism that he brings to the table far exceeds what most Bay Area photographers can offer and you'd be hard pressed to find someone that can be better than Andy in all of those areas. Andy has my highest recommendation for a wedding photographer (or really any photography needs that you may have)!

We recently had our engagement photos done by Andy. We found him on yelp after reading all the great reviews, and so glad we decided to go with him. His prices are very reasonable, he responds so quickly to email and phone call (same day- a lot of times within minutes), he was very organized, a lot of fun to work with, and most importantly, his photos are fabulous. It was so smooth working with him. We got a sneak peak of some of the photos he took during our engagement shoot and they looked great, the lighting and angles were perfect and he got great shots during sunset which is what we wanted. I also like how he took his time and did not rush us. What was amazing is that he had our photos done within days. I'm really pleased with his professionalism and his work. Would hire him again.

We are so grateful to have Andy and his team to be part of our big day! They went so much ABOVE AND BEYOND to make it as perfect as it can be. Andy spent extra time during our engagement session. Before our wedding, we sent him a long shot list and Andy was very patient and efficient and was able to finish all those specific shots we requested. He even got a 2nd photographer for us on part of the wedding day to make sure they didn't miss any special moments. The videographers were also very nice and professional and came early to start shooting. I engaged Andy for my traditional Vietnamese wedding which took place on 6/6/15. The package included an outdoor engagement photo shoot early April, at a location of my choice, and a 12+ hour shooting on the wedding day. Andy is as dedicated as they come and I am grateful for his patience and expertise. He is always punctual, if not earlier, and has good communication to ensure you are well planned for your big day. You can rely on him for recommendations and ideas. He takes pride in his work and doesn't mind going through great length to capture that "perfect shot". We absolutely loved having Andy as our photographer, he was highly professional and he really knows his stuff...
He was also very accommodating to let us photograph with our two pets. The photos came out beautiful and we loved getting a preview while on our honey moon.

Ok, I checked and emailed almost 20 photographers for our anniversary photo shooting, as I am such a demanding art student myself, Yes, I have to admit, I am extremely demanding... Journalistic but still a taste of classical ; brilliant in color but still peaceful in combination; natural but still artistic. In all kinds of art, balance is crucial. Apart from that, No stereotype, No template or stencil. Creative? Oh, it must be. Price? have to be reasonable. ONLY ANDY MATCHES ALL I asked. What's more, Andy is so nice to communicate~~ you cannot ask for more.... Do not waste your time on searching, Andy is your best choice.

I chose Andy solely based on his stellar reviews on multiple wedding websites. He worked over 6 hours at our wedding on April 25, 2015 at San Ramon Wedgewood and he was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely professional and possessed a very high work ethic. Before the event, he was very organized and kept in touch with us about the day and series of photos that he would complete for us. He alone shot hundreds of photos for us during the event and within a few weeks, we received multiple photo CD's as promised. He delivered great quality in both portrait and candid shots. My absolute favorite pictures were the ones that showed his ability to capture the special day in at story-telling/photo-journalism style. I would definitely recommend hiring Andy Lam to capture any of your special events.

I contacted Andy when planning my engagement. Being from out of town I had to do all my research online and could not meet in person until the day of the shoot. I called multiple photographers and Andy was the only one that did not sound bothered, every other photographer I spoke with made it seem like I was a bother or not worth their time for just an engagement. Andy's desire to capture the perfect moments and attention to detail helped me to not worry about a deposit, especially when he scouted the location for me, had a well written contract, and we got all the small details figured out. I proposed at Point Reyes, which is a bit of a drive for Andy too.

My experience with Andy was nothing short of phenomenal. He was able to capture the full proposal and then we had a two hour photo shoot. Andy got so many great pictures in that short time frame. He moved around the park a bit and got lots of great backgrounds and he used the environment around us to craft perfect pictures.

He even impressed me with how much he cared about the photos he took. He has multiple memory cards and a portable backup hard drive the cards saved to so he had 3 copies of our sessions photos.

I can not recommend Andy enough; fun guy, cares about his customers, responds quickly to email, and best of all he genuinely wants you to be happy.

We hired Home For brides as our wedding videographer, and that was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Andy and his crew arrived on time and made sure they got all the important moments from dressing to the end of the day. After we got our video, there were a couple of things that we wanted to change, and they patiently accommodated our requests.

Andy is really great to work with. We hired Andy to take some photos of us to commemorate our 25th anniversary. He drove up to meet us in Napa, where we were staying, and arrived early to scout out the area. Although I had a couple places in the downtown area in mind, the weather did not cooperate (too sunny!), but he had a Plan B ready, which turned out possibly even better! Andy really pays attention to the small details and took plenty of shots from different angles to produce some truly amazing photos. Now, comes the hard part in choosing which ones to print and frame!
I should also add, despite his busy schedule, he’s always prompt with email communication. If he isn’t able to respond in detail at the moment, he promises to get back to you at a later time, which he does. Very professional, personable, and flexible.

I used Andy Sandy for videography for my wedding in Santa Rosa this past November. At first, I was drawn to the very reasonable price. I must say I got more than my money's worth from him! I am thrilled with my wedding video!

Andy was always very responsive to all my emails and helped me pick out the right package for both what I wanted and my budget. He really wants to work with you to make sure you get the best possible product. We had a rather tricky wedding in that it was going to be outside and after the sun had gone down. It was no problem for Andy, who came up with several solutions so that we would still have a wonderful video.

Everything was awesome the day of. I never even noticed a camera and yet somehow everything was captured as if they had been right next to me the whole time. I love the way our video is edited! It perfectly captures how our wedding was and the key moments in it. I know it will be someting I treasure and watch for years to come.

If you are looking for a city hall wedding photographer please look no further! Andy is truly the best! I am so thankful I stumbled upon him on yelp. I knew I was in good hands from the very first email. He responded in a day & answered all my questions. I had so many questions but he was patient. We set up a contract & it was a breeze everything was laid out in the contract with no surprises.

Days before the wedding he contacted us to confirm & the day of the wedding sent a text that he was at city hall 40 minutes early to set up. What a true professional! It was our first time at city hall & we were completely lost but Andy took charge & not only was he our awesome photographer but a lil bit of our event coordinator. He totally guided not only my husband & I but our family. My family was so impressed how he took charge. We even nicknamed him mr. awesome. He not only stayed way past his time to shoot family pictures but came back after he left to take a shot of our rings. Great service!

Having a professional photographer was the best decision we made. He was worth every penny & to be honest after the wedding we felt like we owed him more than what we paid because he was working his butt off to get as many pictures he can get within the 2 hours. Amazing! Andy was very easy going and my husband & I felt comfortable right away. The pictures ended up being gorgeous! He totally knows how to work san franciso's city hall & it's beauty! We get tons of compliments on the quality of the pictures. I never take the time to write long reviews but Andy truly deserves one.

We hired Home For Brides for wedding photography and wedding videography for our big day. To say they were fantastic, would be an understatement. Email communication pertaining to and prior to the event, was very quick and concise. They answered all of our questions and accommodated any changes or add-ons we wanted to our package.

They day of the wedding, Andy and his team showed up on time and ready to work. They were a very impressive bunch. Every member of the crew dressed all in black, each with a tool belt full of different cameras and gadgets. They bobbed and weaved through the action and gorgeously caught some truly incredible moments. They did a fantastic job keeping our unruly bunch of Alaskans corralled for photos and video. The guys were an absolute blast to be around and honestly fit right in with everyone at the wedding. (Wedding tip: feed these guys a good meal, they work their butts off and totally deserve it!)

The product we received was TOP NOTCH. Our wedding music video is absolutely stunning, and is by far our new most prized possession. The photos they caught...wow! So so many photos, each better than the last. And the full length video allowed us to catch all of the action we missed, and will help us relive our special day forever.

If you are reading this review searching for the people you want to be in charge of capturing the memories of your event, wedding, graduation, or ANYTHING; I'll save you some time. Hire these guys! They are absolutely phenomenal.

We hired Andy for our photography. He was a great deal and I loved that he was transparent with his pricing online. He also gave us a great deal when we decided we needed more hours, he even included a second photographer at no additional cost!

He and his assistant showed up on time or early. We ended up with over 1,600 photos and plenty of fantastic shots for print. He was a little hasty getting everyone organized, as you have to be, in order to get us all the shots we'd want/need.

Tips: Make sure you allow an hour of extra time after you're done with hair/makeup to take prep photos! Also, giving Andy a little tip before the wedding doesn't hurt =)

I came across his videography company after searching high and low over the internet and I was so thrilled about his reasonable pricing after viewing his amazing work online. We hired Andy's service for my parent's pre-25th wedding anniversary and renewal of vows photography. His service is phenomenal. His creativeness in taking shots is exceptional. His after-service responsiveness is commendable; we are based in the Philippines and yet he promptly replies on our requests and questions maintains connection through the net.
I would also commend his hospitality. He even offered us for a tour at the wine county near his place.

Andy and his team did the most amazing job on our wedding photographs. I first heard and was recommended to him by my friend because he was her photographer and she and her husband were extremely impressed with him so they told us about Andy. I not only hired him to do our photographer but I had him do our videographer. I had his team do my make up and all of our bridesmaids make up and hair. Anne did an amazing job and made us look beautiful for the wedding. As for Andy our pictures were absolutely amazing!!! He blew our minds away and I was so happy with the pictures it literally brought tears to my eyes. Our pictures were lovely and our video was just as impressive! He had edited it and put in music and everything. I swear thst I fell in love with every snap shot taken thst day. The lighting was perfect and the images were so clear! I really enjoyed working with Andy on our wedding day in September 2014. He was professional and well-prepared. He supported, and even shared his snack :-) when I was freaking out when my make up artist is running late. Our pictures turned out great, I just love how he captured our best moments. It was important to me that our photographer will make a lot of portraits for our guests, and Andy did just that. I enjoyed sending pictures our along with our thank you notes. Walking down the aisle, I will never forget the look my husband had on his face. It is one of the most memorable moments of my life, and I am so thankful that Andy was able to perfectly capture it on camera! I cannot say enough amazing things about Andy’s services as our wedding photographer. As you are well aware, weddings are very stressful and my husband and I really lucked out with how easy Andy was able to make this experience for us. Photography is not my thing and the idea of having to come up with pictures I wanted was overwhelming. Andy made it so easy with his high level of experience and creativity, by taking care of everything! He was all over the place taking candid shots and posed shots just by the creative vision he had for my wedding. He was so organized he even had extra time to take pictures of the invitations, rings, and accessories! Andy was beyond hard working the entire time, running around taking lots of candid pictures. We had an excellent experience with Andy as our wedding photographer and can’t recommend him enough. Not only is he a fantastic photographer but he’s also wonderful to work with. He did both our wedding (12 people outside at the beach) and our reception 4 months later (150 people indoors at the Regency in San Francisco) and for both events he did an outstanding job. We LOVE our pictures!
Andy is the utmost professional: First thing you should know about him is he answers every email almost instantaneously, at any hour of the day or night (‘til 11pm or so). In all the times I emailed him I never had to wait longer than 30 minutes for a response. For stressed out brides that’s a great asset!! Before the wedding we Skyped with him as we had some questions and wanted to get to know him a little, and right away we could tell how professional and yet easy-going he was. For our wedding he was willing to make an exception to his usual time minimum and let us hire him for 1 hour only (we knew our ceremony was only going to be 15 min, and with only 10 guests how many pictures can you take, really). In fact he got there an hour early (same for our reception) to scope out the place and figure out what lighting etc he needed, and ended up shooting pictures for 90 min instead of 60. He didn’t charge us any extra and ended up sending us over 250 pictures for that hour and a half. Awesome!!
For the reception he did an amazing job of getting a picture of every single guest, in solo shots & in groups, formal & informal, etc. A friend of mine who’d recently hired a professional photographer for her daughter’s bat mitzvah was so impressed with Andy, because unlike her photographer, “everywhere she looked, Andy was.” He sent us over 500 pictures for our 4-hour event.
Do yourself a favor and hire Andy as your event photographer. His prices are a bargain, he’ll provide you with amazing pictures, and he’ll be completely pleasant and friendly about it the whole time!

My husband and I are very satisfied with our photographer, Andy Sandy. I found him on Yelp shortly before our wedding and spoke with him on the phone. He was very professional and very informative. He sent me a link to his website which is very professional and organized. It is also full of his photography examples which are absolutely gorgeous. He walked me through the website and pricing while on the phone. He was very professional and his pictures and website spoke for itself. I then knew he was my photographer. He showed up to San Francisco City Hall right on time. I was a little nervous because I was confused with the wedding itinerary that City Hall gave me. He knew SF City Hall like the back of his hand and walked my husband, our family and I through it perfectly. He knew the whole area and all of the beautiful backdrops for the pictures. He brought several pieces of photography equipment to ensure for an array of wonderful variety and perfect shots. We were extremely happy with the outcome of our photos. He actually over delivered which is hard to come by with businesses these days. We would definitely recommend him and would hire him again. He was worth every pretty penny!

Andy Sandy Photography was absolutely phenomenal! We were very happy with Andy's work and pleasantly surprised with the quality of his service, as we had not met with him prior to our wedding day. We planned the wedding from out of state and Andy Sandy had strong reviews online. We did not have a personal meeting, nor did we do engagement photos, as we lived out of town. I had minimal contact with Andy prior to the wedding, but this was by choice. If I asked questions, Andy responded promptly. I had a list of photos that I wanted and Andy made sure he took all those photos and so much more. He always carried multiple cameras, always looking for the best light, and generally easy to get along with. He was methodical about looking for ideal picture spots and always ensured he had the picture he wanted before we moved to a new location. During the ceremony, he was basically invisible and did not interrupt the flow in anyway. It's only been a few weeks after our wedding so we are still waiting for the photos, but I have no doubt they will look fabulous. During and after our wedding, we commented multiple times that we were just so impressed with Andy. Great job!

We are very lucky that he photographed our wedding because he was booked for the entire year and our wedding date was on his birthday. He even brought a second photographer with him for no additional charge! His pictures really speak for them self. He has lots of really artistic photos. They are incredible. He knew exactly what to do at the right times. He did a very good job of choreographing and directing us which produced amazing pictures. He had so many camera accessories too! He was like a gunslinger with cameras! He moved very quickly and always knew what he was doing. I would definitely reccomend Andy to anyone.

Andy is an awesome, professional, funny & hardworking photographer. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. He was early to the venue and immediately began setting up his equipment. He took photos before ceremony, during, after ceremony and all of my events ( first dance, speeches, cake cutting, bouquet toss) throughout the wedding. I highly recommend Andy for awesome wedding services. He showed superior customer service and was quick to respond to my questions, making it easy for me to prepare for the big day. I had so many bad experiences with vendors but Andy was different. He was a true professional yet more like a friend. Andy is also very passionate about his work. The misses and I almost didn't go for video. Two weeks before the big day, my cousin convinces me that I need video. So we researched online and also on FB and we found Andy Sandy mentioned through both channels.

We decided to talk to at least 3 vendors but we knew we wanted Andy and his team after the first conversation. Andy was super responsive and realized the urgency of our situation. Luckily, he was available on our wedding day.

He explained the processed and answered questions we hadn't even asked yet!

We got a quote which was extremely reasonable given the fact that Andy's video team has three guys and like 4-5 cameras! They came early and stayed until past their contract time!

They were professional and were able to co-ordinate with our photographer and his assistant, and they brought some gear that made our wedding look like a Hollywood video movie set. At the end of the night we were so impressed that we tipped them all.

That's all I can say about Andy for now - I will be recommending them to EVERYONE I know.

TIP: FEED YOUR VENDORS - THEY WORK EXTREMELY HARD. I never saw them eat or drink anything once and we practically had to beg them to sit down at dinner (these guys are beasts I tells ya!)

So I just got this email, and me and my wife have been wanting to give feedback on their videography business. I have to say it was pretty amazing the kind of service that they provided us. At a low cost and for that many hours, I was expecting to pay a lot more, but in the end the overall quality was amazing. I enjoyed how they work in a group of two and one person gets this angle while the other person gets this angle and it just adds to the overall aesthetic of our video DVD that we received. They came prompt and prepared and had all this fancy equipment and they were all courteous and professional.

Overall, I have recommended most of my friends to check them out because of the overall professionalism and quality that they provided for my wife and me.

Home for brides is a great company to get your photo and video service.

Andy, the manager, is a dedicated wedding professional. I had the opportunities to witness him in action, i like his creativity and storytelling in wedding photos, he photographed my friend's wedding last weekend, i would definitely recommend him for someone's photographic needs.

We contacted Andy just days before our daughter's wedding desperate to find a photographer. He was the consummate professional from start to finish. He arrived early to the venue, and was equipped with everything he needed, and was totally portable, so we could easily move around to the many different locations within San Francisco City Hall. Originally Andy committed 'over 100' photos for our 2 hour sitting, and the pictures just arrived barely a month after the event, and contained over 350 edited and amazing photos. The quality of his work surpasses many others that we have seen. We would highly recommend Andy without any reservations.

Andy was wonderful. We called him up very last-minute and he made it happen. Knew all the best spots to shoot in San Francisco City Hall and made sure he shot the whole time of our contract. The day after the wedding he sent up an app with a selection of our personalized photos which made it easy to show to interested friends. Great communication, was early, and we had a great time!

We are so happy that we found Andy to do our Pre Wedding shoot, since it's our first time getting our pictures professionally done. Andy took the time to work with us, explain to us, and give us advice on what we can do. He is very talented and knowledgeable in photography.

Andy was kind enough to shoot for us on Thanksgiving and it was much appreciated having him to spend a few hours with us away from his family to get our pictures done. The quality and professionalism is beyond expected. He did so much for us without us asking and we deeply appreciate it. We just got our pictures back and I must say it's gorgeous!

I would recommend him to anyone who's looking for a photographer for anything sort of event. It was a pleasure working with Andy and we're looking forward to getting our wedding photos done with him too.
