Andy is simply the best.
From the first time we spoke to Andy, we immediately felt as if he understood our deal. My husband, Andy, and I all had a mutual reverence for photography -- not only the inherent artistry required in framing a good tableau, but the importance of capturing humanity, in weird and potentially messy moments. Andy does both of these things with grace, ease, and kindness. We brought Andy to New York for engagement photos some six months before our wedding, and the three of us gallivanted around the city taking pictures like we were old, dear friends. Andy has a quality that made us feel at ease -- present and positive, yet unobtrusive. His style is also incredibly unique, and frankly, just pretty epic. On the weekend of our wedding, Andy was available, ready to negotiate inevitable guest drama, and he acted as a grounding force for us amidst the chaos. He took the time to know the major players of the wedding, as well as some of the dynamics at play among them. Everyone caught wind of his infectious good energy, and felt like they could be themselves in front of his camera. And ultimately, he took extraordinary photographs that make us feel like we are right back there. We will revel at them for years to come. The long and the short of it is, Andy's the best. Choosing him as your photographer will be one of the best decisions you make while planning your wedding. -

Let me just say we forgot everything about our wedding, all that remains is Andy!
We met with multiple wedding photographers before choosing Andy. What stood out about him, beyond his raw talent, was that he really connects with the couples he works with. Other photographers were booking several weddings per weekend. Andy doesn't do that, even in the post-Covid wedding frenzy. He only does one wedding per weekend, and that's YOUR wedding. We were planning on having an event the night before, but it got rained out; still, Andy came down early to make himself available. His work is exceptional and speaks for itself, but what you can't appreciate until you work with him is his character, professionalism, and reliability.
His artistic shots, unexpected angles, use of dramatic lighting, and superb editing skills will stun you as you review the photos with friends and family. In reality, you might remember very little from your wedding. All those months of planning go by quickly on the actual day. The photos are what will last. We can't wait to host our next wedding with him. ;) -

My husband and I got married in September 2020 and while the wedding planning was made more stressful negotiating Covid, Andy was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Even before we officially hired him he was thoughtful and answered all questions related to photography and even general wedding planning. Both he and Ryan (his second photographer) were friendly and respectful during our wedding day and navigated the added restrictions from Covid like the pros they are. On top of all this our wedding photos came out amazing and we have gotten non-stop compliments from guests and those who couldn't attend on how stunning they came out. I cannot recommend Andy enough! -

We got married in October 2018 and had a great experience with Andy (and Ryan). Andy took the time to talk with us before the wedding to get an idea of what we wanted. Him and Ryan were prompt, friendly and professional the entire day. I could tell that the photos were going to turn out great, but I was completely blown away when we received over 500 (!!) gorgeous pictures from our day. It has been extremely hard to choose which ones to print, which in my opinion, is a great problem to have! You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does and we would not hesitate to hire him again in the future. -

Choosing Andy as a wedding photographer was easy, my husband had known him most of his life. That said, I knew I would have hired him regardless because I loved his style. Andy was great at asking questions that we hadn't even thought about which showed how experienced he was, that was a huge relief since we didn't know what we were doing for the most part. The day of the wedding he was so on top of things, he worked seamlessly with the venue's coordinator to scout out the best locations on the giant property. He found some fantastic spots that I hadn't even considered, which created some magical shots. Working with Andy and his partner Ryan was awesome, all the guests were commenting on how great they were. We are so grateful to them for making us feel comfortable in front of the camera and capturing all those special moments. -
Sarah Sent on 06/12/2018Andy was our photographer for a June wedding at the Old Lantern Inn in Vermont. We were from out of town, so weren't able to meet with anyone beforehand. He was so accessible and easy to talk to from day one. We are a very relaxed couple and wanted a photographer who was also relaxed, but reliable and able to give us a little bit of direction. Andy was definitely all of those things. He was very creative in his shots and scoped out our venue and other places in the area in the days prior to see where he could get the best pictures. We ended up taking pictures on an old ferry in Lake Champlain with the Adirondacks in the background. I could not ask for more beautiful photos and a more professional, laid back but organized photographer. Highly recommend!

Vinny Sent on 05/05/2018Andy was an amazing photographer to work with for our wedding day. He met with us a few weeks prior just to meet us in person and to figure out the style we wanted for our wedding photos. Andy is extremely personable and was able to make the wedding day as stress free and smooth as possible. We were able to get all of our family photos done with minimal wrangling and were able to spend most of the cocktail hour with our guests. The photos turned out even better than we could have expected. We are so happy that we picked Andy Madea Photography for our special day and will look forward to revisiting it through his photographs for years to come.
