    I am IN LOVE with Andrew Minton Jewelers!!! They are the most wonderful people and so very helpful! My fiance and I had our eyes set on wedding bands for me, but I was having a hard time swallowing the pricing (we aren't exactly local so it was hard for me to make such a big decision after only seeing the ring one time on my hand). Brian was so helpful and sent me links to the pictures, gave me his opinion as a jeweler and made sure to say the price would not be more then X amount... I am thrilled with my experience and cannot wait to wear my bands! We will definitely be using Andrew Minton Jewelers in the future!

    We absolutely loved working with Andrew Minton and the rest of his family as we purchased our wedding bands. He found the bands that were *just right* for my husband and me, after we described the styles we like and what we do for a living (my husband has a hands-on job that affects his ring choice). Mr. Minton never pressured us to choose more expensive options - he simply respected our preferences and provided a variety of creative options for helping us find the perfect rings. Their personalized service is also speedy - many rings are available overnight, or else on an otherwise short time frame. They provide engraving for wedding bands at no charge, and they even refinished my engagement ring to look brand new on my wedding day. All of this for a much more reasonable price than the other local competitors. I can't wait till we are ready to buy another piece of jewelry from Andrew Minton Jewelers!

    Andrew walked my fiance through every step of the process, which helped him make the proposal and ring a surprise. I will wear this ring for the rest of my life, I look at it every day and think about how beautiful it is, and it was picked out completely by 2 dudes - that says something!! This is a WONDERFUL local vendor, use him use him use him!

    Andy and his team are great! They provide personal customer service and can help you find almost anything under the sun you want as far as an engagement ring. He was so helpful in helping us think through both the engagement ring and how that would look with the wedding band. His advice was great and I could not be happier with my ring and the ring we have in mind for the band.

    My fiancé purchased my engagement ring from Andrew Minton Jewelers and because of how wonderful they are, we also purchased our wedding bands through them. Brian and Andrew both recognize us when we walk in their door! They are so helpful and every time we go there they offer to clean my ring, which is such a nice touch! They even let me borrow jewelry for our wedding day and it all looked stunning. I highly recommend purchasing your jewelry from Andrew Minton!!

    My fiance got my engagement ring set through Andrew Minton Jewelers, and we also got our wedding bands through them. They're absolutely wonderful. They're the first jewelers we've been to that didn't make us feel intimidated or "not good enough" to be in their store. They listen to what you want, but still give you advice based on their experience. My engagement ring has a family heirloom diamond in it, and we felt so comfortable leaving that with them when needed. They also engraved our bands for free, which was a nice touch.

    We have been using Andrew Minton for a long time, and my husband knew they were the only ones who would be able to custom make my engagement ring to his vision. We decided to work with them again for our wedding bands, and again they made a custom wedding band to match my ring. Brian is a pro, and knew exactly what we wanted before we even did! I would highly recommend using them for custom work!

    My experience at Andrew Minton Jewlers has been everything positive that one could write and more. Andy is very professional, attentive and educated all while being down-to-earth (which really made the stress of choosing engagement and wedding rings simplified). His service is second to none and will now be my family jeweler.

    Andy was the first person my husband went to when he decided to pop the question. They used my mother and grandmother's diamonds to make a beautiful engagement ring for me! When it was time to order the wedding bands there was no question who we would go to. My husband also purchased a pair of diamond earrings to match in CCC which was an amazing surprise for me while I was getting ready!     Andrew Minton Jewelers is hands down the best jewelry store in the Charlottesville area. We purchased my engagement ring and both wedding bands from them. They are patient and have exceptional customer service. It is a family run business and the owners recognize you when you come into the store. Not only do they clean and redip your rings for free, they also offered to let me borrow any jewelry in the store to wear on my wedding day.

    Absolutely the best jeweler in Charlottesville (and believe me, we tried them all)! A family run place, with very professional staff who are flexible in their approach and willing to really listen and help you find what you are looking for within your price range. Also some really gorgeous pieces and a nice, relaxed atmosphere.

    The owner worked with us closely to create custom wedding bands out of our own recycled gold. He was very kind, honest and thoughtful in helping us create them. My wedding band was specially designed to fit around my engagement ring, which had been purchased at an estate sale. The rings turned out beautifully and we were very happy with the overall experience. Highly recommended!

    Definitely the place to go to get the most bang for your buck. We had my grandfather's wedding ring resized for my husband and I picked out a wedding band. We worked with the head associate and he was great. I love my wedding ring and it was affordable. He gave us a good deal. Also, they kept the rings for us until a few days before the wedding so we didn't have to worry about losing them. And since money was tight, they let us make payments on the rings, which helped with our budget. A great place to go in Charlottesville.

    I have very mixed feelings on Andrew Minton jewelers. On the one hand, they were able to track down the matching wedding band for my engagement ring that my husband had bought elsewhere, so we appreciated the effort and legwork that they put into that. Additionally, since we bought our wedding bands from them, I was able to borrow a necklace and earrings for the wedding for free, which was a major help! They were also very flexible with us on returning the borrowed jewelry, meeting us outside of business hours on our way to the airport so that we didn't have to worry about asking a friend to return the jewelry.

    On the other hand, our bands almost didn't make it in in time for the wedding. We ordered them a couple months ahead of time (at least), and we were very clear about when our wedding date was. No problem, we ordered in plenty of time. For the next couple months, we were told "any day now" whenever we called to ask when our bands would arrive. Mine finally arrived about 2-3 weeks before the wedding. My husband's still had not arrived. We pushed the jeweler to give us a firmer date as to when it would arrive, so he called his supplier and told us the date--the day AFTER our wedding. We were very upset about this, and he promised to rush ship the band to get it in on time. It finally did arrive, about 3 or 4 days before the wedding, but it was very nerve-wracking. The lack of communication of accurate information about when the ring would arrive was ridiculous and unprofessional.

    Terrible customer service, terrible prices, questionable ethics

    This may have been a reputable business back in the day, but my experience this year with this store has been horrific. They were supposed to duplicate a ring setting for me (and they actually had the ring so this shouldn't be that hard), but they kept coming back with settings that were completely different than the original ring. After five months of going back and forth and getting nowhere, I asked for my ring back. This past week, I needed to purchase three small gold jump rings to have soldered to a bracelet, and the estimate they gave me was $365!!! I had to repeatedly ask for clarification, and only then did they say "whoops, we accidentally doubled the labor charge". Their cost for both the labor and jump rings was almost double that of Keller and George for the exact same product and service, even without the doubled estimate. Then, he (Brian) added tax onto the labor charge. I know that jewelry labor should not be taxed, and when I asked him about it, he said this: "We have been advised by our accounting company to charge sales tax on work do using materials to compete the task. It is near impossible for us to determine the cost of the solder, propane, oxygen, flux, acid, and other items used in a basic solder." I followed up with both him and Andrew Minton asking again why they are taxing labor, and neither responded to my multiple emails. I've spoken with Ken, the manager of Keller and George, and he said that in his 40 years of work he's never heard of a jewelry store charging tax on repairs. I deeply regret ever doing business at this store and find myself wondering if I've been completely ripped off every time.
