Beautiful venue, amazing staff, and great value

The garden and location within the garden (The Main Gate) were perfect for our wedding ceremony - absolutely beautiful. We had a small wedding of 10 guests, but they have locations within the garden that can accommodate up to 220 guests. The staff were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. Leah, Beth Ann, Katie, and Amy were all so thoughtful, thorough, and attentive. Highly recommend. :)

Mesmerizing and stunning

The gardens is the absolute perfect place. Between all the trees, flowers, greenery, waterfall, koi ponds, numerous bridges, and unique style it is PERFECT! They are incredibly helpful and always by your side during your wedding day. They provide a coordinator, place to get ready in (bridal suite), chairs and tables, etc, and go above and beyond to make your day perfect. I could not of found a better place than the gardens!!!!!

Absolutely Beautiful

The gardens are the perfect place to have a wedding, with so much natural beauty and multiple spots to have your ceremony. I had a micro wedding on a Monday, and Warren was wonderfully accommodating and helpful before and after the day. We had everything we wanted, and our guests had some time to stroll the gardens and enjoy the beauty after our ceremony.

Wonderful Service from a staff who went above and beyond.

The Gardens are gorgeous and beautifully maintained! The staff is wonderful and helped our wedding there come off beautifully from helping coordinate down to the last detail and then keeping the day as stress free as possible for my husband and I, along with our families! Grace was wonderful assistant to keep everything flowing and I would definitely recommend having your special events coordinated through Anderson Japanese Gardens!

The best venue.

Words cannot describe how wonderful the staff have been. They helped us throughout everything. From pictures to adjusting my train. To helping with the rehearsal. God they were just incredible. Fresco's not so much, but they are a separate entity from the gardens. I cannot express the love the staff have givin me and helped us with everything.

Absolutely Stunning

We had such a beautiful wedding ceremony at Anderson Japanese Gardens. Their staff was top notch and helped us with everything from the rehearsal to the photos. Speaking of photos, ours are stunning thanks to the beautiful grounds.

The Wedding Team Rocked!!

Anderson Japanese Garden was the best place to get married!! The venue was gorgeous, the team we were with rocked and overall was just terrific!
The team was responsive, great at communicating quickly and very informative. We got married in the pavilion and it was simply perfect. If you love the outdoors, enjoy nature and flowers you should definitely get married here!!

Beautiful ceremony setting!

I know I wanted to have an outdoor ceremony and Anderson Japanese Garden was definitely first on our list! It was worth the price and it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were amazing accommodated our huge wedding party. I cannot thank them enough. They made our day special!

Beautiful location, great staff

Anderson Japanese Garden was the perfect location for our wedding. The grounds are beautiful and meticulously maintained, which made for an awesome setting for the ceremony. The staff were great throughout the whole process. They were very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly.

Perfect! Amazing! Beautiful!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff and the grounds! The ceremony was beautiful and that in large part is due to the attentiveness of the staff! They took care of details that I hadn’t thought of and were very supportive. They had golf carts to help our family that were handicapped down to the site and made me overall feel so at ease! I would HIGHLY recommend them!!

Our wedding

Our wedding was 07/07/2019 and it was amazing. The beauty of the gardens is of course one of the most amazing backgrounds for a wedding, but the most amazing part was the attentiveness of the staff. Our wedding day was smooth and enjoyable thanks to the great people at Anderson gardens. Truly an amazing experience which we would recommend to every couple.

I can't imagine a better experience.

Leah and Jennifer were absolutely amazing and helpful on our big day. Choosing the Anderson Japanese Gardens for my mixed culture wedding was the best decision we made! Communication and organizion was impeccable, and the venue was extremely accommodating to our unique ceremony needs. Not only was this venue beautiful and affordable, but I also truly appreciated how much this venue cared about us and our big day. Every tiny detail- from providing umbrellas during our first visit to even making sure the bride/groom kept hydrated during pictures was taken cared of without us even asking. Our guests still can't stop raving about the beauty of this place!

Perfect Garden Wedding

We got married at the waterfall and gosh was it perfect. The staff was amazing at helping to coordinate everything for us and was always quick and responsive. They helped execute the perfect first look with my husband and just made our wedding a dream come true.

What a perfect place to celebrate your perfect day. Besides the gardens being gorgeous, the crew at Anderson Gardens was amazing. They were there from the very beginning all the way till the end. I would highly reccomend this place as a wedding sight not just for the beauty but for the amazing staff.

They were absolutely awesome! It was well worth every penny we spent! The staff was extremely professional and was there to help do anything they could! I was HIGHLY recommend to anyone even considering Anderson gardens!!!

I got married at Anderson Japanese Gardens on June 23, 2018 and it was absolutely beautiful. They even had water damage from a big storm earlier that week, but made all the repairs in time for our big day. They had 3 different staff members helping us with every detail, and there was a separate lower level for me to get ready in before going outside to the pavilion, which was very helpful. The only advice I have is for future bridesmaids and the bride to wear closed toe shoes so pebbles don't get into your shoes. The scenery took our guests' breath away; we highly recommend this venue.

We had our wedding here and could not of been more pleased with the location and staff! Everyone in our wedding party lived at least 1.5 hours away, so having a rehearsal wasn't an option. That being said, there were a few rough spots that the staff easily worked through WITH us and everything was wonderful. Well, despite it rained...twice, ha!

The staff at Anderson Japanese Gardens was absolutely fantastic. Whenever we had questions and emailed Sara, we typically heard back with an answer within a day. The staff created a very stress-free day for both our rehearsal as well as our wedding day from the moment we stepped on the grounds to after we finished taking our pictures with our photographers and we received nothing but compliments regarding the grounds as well as organization from our friends and family. Thank you to everyone who participated in making our day special. My husband and I truly appreciate it.

I wanted a garden wedding and Anderson provided everything needed. The place is beautiful, your guest will love it. This place is a hidden gem to Rockford. The staff was there to assist during and after the wedding. When we arrived the team was standing at the door, ready to go! The day was perfect. I recommend Anderson Garden!!

If you are looking for a private ceremony at a garden look no further than Anderson Japanese Gardens! We picked this place for 2 reasons. One they only do one wedding on either Friday or Sunday so you don't have to worry about fighting with other weddings for pics and space. Two, because of the beautiful location :)...Our wedding was at the West Waterfall location but, there are other locations to choose from depending on your party size. The staff was great and were very accommodating and helpful during our rehearsal and wedding. I highly recommend driving out for a visit if you are looking for a garden wedding. You won't be disappointed.

We had a wonderful experience with our wedding here on May 26, 2017! It was raining for several hours leading up to the ceremony start time and still drizzling at the beginning. The staff was very accommodating to our wishes to still have the ceremony by the waterfall and provided umbrellas for us and our guests. It was a very special time made more so by an efficient staff that was willing and ready to accommodate rain.

If you are considering Anderson Gardens, you will not be disappointed. It is worth every penny! We had a perfect fall wedding in October; breathtaking! People are still commenting how beautiful our wedding was! The staff is exceptional as well. I was constantly bugging Sara over tedious questions and she answered reassuringly and tried to make me feel the least stressed as possible. The day of was smooth as can be and I had no reason to stress. I can not thank everyone at the gardens enough for making our wedding the most beautiful and precious day of my life. THANK YOU!

We loved the gardens! It was a beautiful venue and Sarah was extremely responsive and easy to work with throughout the process. It looked like rain on my wedding date and the staff set up a plan b as a just in case which alleviated my stress and allowed me to focus on the other details. I really felt that the staff was extremely helpful and couldn't stress enough how appreciated I was to work with them. My only suggestion for future brides would be would be to go through the seating arrangements and when your guests should be seated in detail at the rehearsal. When I showed up to the venue, I had a lot of my guests still meandering in front and in the lobby who saw me in my dress. And with the seating arrangements, guests left 1 or 2 seats in between each other which I didn't accommodate for so there were some guests standing. Over all extremely happy we chose the gardens for our ceremony and we can't wait to go back to reminisce of our special day!

This venue is beautiful! They have amazing areas for great photos and the staff is extremely organized and great at communication. Little pricey but it is 100% worth it. They were able to adjust our rehearsal time to fit our schedule and they had an answer to every question or concern that came up. Highly recommended!

From the moment we walked through the gardens, my husband and I knew we wanted to get married there. The location is beautiful, no matter what spot you choose. We ended up in a more intimate setting at the main gate. The rehearsal was a breeze, they had 3 coordinators getting all the details down. The next day was even easier! Those three coordinators took care of every little detail, even walked us around for our pictures to some of the best spots. We could not have had a better experience and are so thankful something so unique exists in Rockford. We now have a year membership where we can go back and visit anytime we want!

The crew at Anderson Gardens made our wedding day a breeze. They had three event coordinators on the day of the wedding, orchestrating the event and taking away any stress on the bride and groom. Beyond the helpful service, the location was absolutely beautiful. Our guests were allowed to walk the gardens for an additional hour after the ceremony which allowed them to experience the gardens beyond the ceremony location. This site is definitely a hidden gem in Rockford!

My husband and I had visited the Anderson Japanese Gardens a couple of times before we got engaged. Even though the gardens are 90 minutes away from us we knew that this was the place we wanted to get married, especially in the fall which is our favorite season and the colors are gorgeous at the gardens. Even though we had our wedding on the last date possible, October 31st, we were still able to enjoy the colors and the beauty of the gardens. We had our wedding under the heated pavilion which was great since it drizzled and was cold. The staff walked us through our rehearsal the evening before and based on our wants and needs they accomodated us.

Anderson Gardens is a BEAUTIFUL location (I can't wait to see my pictures!). Although it is more expensive for the area when you consider you are only renting ceremony space for 2 hours (as of this time, there is not an option to hold the reception there as well), I think it's well worth the money. I borrowed some tulle bows to put on the aisle seats and bought a little more tulle to decorate the pulpit, but that was it for decorations—you don't need more. We had the pavilion space, so even if had rained, our guests would have been protected, which is nice. For our favors, we bought koi food from Anderson, so along with cute baggies to hold them in, our favors only cost $50 for 100 people. The staff was friendly, helpful, and really coordinated a lot of day-of tasks for us. Overall, I would recommend Anderson Gardens.

This is the absolute PERFECT venue for a wedding. I can't say enough good things about these gardens. The backdrop is beautiful. All your wedding photos will be amazing. The team is without a doubt professional, kind and helpful. You don't have to worry about a thing. I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else. You will not be disappointed. Your guests even get to walk around after the ceremony!

There is no better location for an outdoor wedding. The scenery is flawless and the ability to be protected from weather issues is so convenient! And the staff is also so helpful and amazing!

Got married here on 7/26/14. It was absolutely amazing. The venue was by far the most beautiful place I have been to for a wedding. The photo opportunities are infinite. The Anderson Japanese Gardens gave me the wedding of my dreams. The staff were incredible, very professional, and helped us every step of the way. The wedding was fabulous and we were able to get breathtaking pictures. The guests have time to walk around the gardens after the ceremony. An evening ceremony is recommended if you want a more private ceremony. The gardens is truly a remarkable place, and is highly recommended for an outside wedding especially under the pavilion.

The Gardens was just a wonderful experience and the staff were so reassuring. I felt so stressed that many things just might go wrong if I wasn't personally handling them, and the event staff were great in making sure everything went well and went smoothly.

The staff was extremely helpful especially with the rings (sorry about that). The venue was awesome and if I had to do it again I would not change a thing. Loved the waterfall and the bridges for the photo shoot. Sara walked us through the gardens a few weeks before the wedding which was a huge help. Anderson Japanese Gardens is a traditional, Japanese garden in Rockford, Illinois. The venue is absolutely beautiful because of the landscaping. The venue can be pricey because they require that you use their caterer.

This is an awesome location for a wedding especially if you have out of town guests and need something for them to do between the ceremony and the cocktail hour and dinner. Our guests raved about the gardens and feeding the koi fish.

The AJG staff was very helpful and professional. I enjoyed working with Sara Johnson at the gardens. I highly recommend having your wedding or any other special event at the Anderson Japanese Gardens.

This was the second place that my husband and I had looked at, and we instantly knew that this was the perfect wedding venue. We booked immediately--even at 15 months in advance, May and June were already filled. We could not have been happier with Anderson Japanese Gardens. Our coordinator, Julie, was FANTASTIC at communicating with us every step of the way, and she met our every desire. She was so incredibly kind, generous, and caring. The food coordinator, Suzie, also did a wonderful job and made sure that all of our catering requests were met. The food was amazing--certainly not typical wedding food. We got so many compliments from our guests on how beautiful the setting was (words can not describe how elegant the gardens are), and we also got many comments on how flawless the entire day was. There was so much staff on hand to make sure the day was smooth--and it definitely was. There is absolutely nothing I would change. I highly recommend this venue for all!

The venue was absolutely beautiful - well worth the cost for the impact it will have on your special day. A team of staff was provided for the rehearsal and day of event - they kept the process running smoothly and were very helpful. Would do it again in a heartbeat! We were so happy we decided to use Anderson Japanese Gardens for our wedding ceremony! The staff is so friendly, helpful, organized, accommodating, and always attentive to emails!

The venue is BEAUTIFUL! In fact, it's so beautiful you have no reason to spend money on extra details like accent flowers or decor.

After the ceremony, our guests really enjoyed being able to explore the gardens and take pictures.

Speaking of pictures, our pre and post ceremony pictures are AMAZING! The gardens are the perfect backdrop.

Book it,. The venue itself is beautiful and a real treat for guests who have never been there before. I am still getting compliments on the beauty of it 2 weeks later. Absolutely amazing setting...only thing I would suggest is maybe a smaller(amount) wedding package for those who are only having 10 or less guests attend. Unfortunately, when I took my bride there to initially propose, as soon as I seen the place, I knew that would be where we got married, no matter the cost. But the smallest "package" still included up to 40 chairs for guests. Again, maybe just a slightly discounted rate for people who know they're only having 10 or less guest. Well worth the money for us either way.

My husband and I knew from the moment we toured anderson gardens that we wanted to have our ceremony there. The pictures you will have to remember your special day alone are enough to book this wonderful venue. Not only is the garden beautiful, but the staff is wonderful. My husband and I planned our wedding 100% by ourselves, and we didn't know what to expect! We showed up for our practice rehearsal, and we were greeted with not one, but three staff members who told and showed us exactly what to do! The day of our wedding ran just as smooth. The staff is very well trained and organized and made sure our day was perfect. Due to the gardens beauty, we didn't have to decorate anything, which is a plus if you are on a budget.

Going early to meet right before the rehearsal was a great time saver as we sorted out a bunch of details (such as line up, where people are coming in at and how) before the rehearsal so people weren't just standing around while that gets sorted. Also, we walked around the gardens a year out from our date and circled any locations we wanted to have our pictures taken to make it easier and quicker the day of.

Beautiful scenery and many options for choice of backgrounds for ceremonies. Not many options if inclement weather, only one outdoor pavilion that cannot be used if another wedding is set up for that day.

Gorgeous venue. My daughter got married there on September 22,2018. It was absolutely perfect. The rehearsal was a bit confusing but ended up perfect for the wedding. Highly recommend Anderson gardens!

The site was absolutely as stunning as any pictures you find of it. The staff at Anderson was great throughout our planning process, our rehearsal, and the ceremony. I wanted to have a touch of my heritage as part of my wedding and Anderson definitely gave us what we were looking for. After our rehearsal the staff allowed the photographer more time to take the dress out and get photos of it hanging so that we wouldn't have to find time to do so on the ceremony day. They were very good at taking us and the photographer around key areas throughout the garden to produce some of the most beautiful scenes for our photographs. The staff communicates well together making sure that the bridal party didn't accidently run into the groom's party as we requested to have a traditional "first look" moment at the altar. Our guests felt very welcome and were well directed to the correct location for the ceremony. Sarah was great in making sure to communicate the limitations of decorations, flowers, etc. that the garden has to prevent damage to the property or the buildings. It was a little on the pricey side but well worth making room in the budget for. They make sure not to schedule more than 1 wedding event in the day to ensure there is no overlap in guests, or wedding parties, so you will have the garden exclusively at the time of your ceremony.

Our wedding at AJG was fantastic! The staff was super helpful and all our guests we're blown away at how beautiful our ceremony was. It was a fantastic value as well. Only complaint was that my mother is wheel chair bound and it was tough to push her along the path to the ceremony, but that path is part of the beauty of the garden, so it's to be expected. We we're very happy with all aspects of the wedding. Thanks Anderson!
