Simply Magical

Working out the details of our wedding ceremony with Rev. Spicer was simply lovely. Not only was she focused on the details of the ceremony itself, but also other aspects that make the whole day special. It was clear to us that it wasn’t just about getting through the formalities. She made sure that she got to know us a couple and the important things of our life together. Rev. Spicer’s help in preparing for the big day made us feel at ease and with virtually no nervousness one could expect for such an occasion. And though we knew much of what to expect, her execution of the details left us truly impressed and forever grateful. We of course know our love story, but Rev. Spicer brought it to life for our guests as well. Afterwards several of our guests shared with us that is was the most beautiful wedding they had attended. Thank you forever Rev. Spicer.

The best renewal ceremony ever!

Reverend Patty Spicer is living proof that great things come in small packages! Thanks to Rev Patty our Renewal Ceremony was very effectively kept a secret from my wife who was without a doubt totally surprised. Rev Patty's ability to create a customized ceremony is without parallel. The attendees said it was absolutely the BEST they have ever attended. You will be missing the boat of you fail to contact Rev Patty!

I can't say enough about how special Reverend Patty is! We planned this wedding in three weeks so everything was last minute. If it hadn't been for her I don't think we could have made it work. She not only said yes right away, but recommended caterers and florists and even made some calls herself. She was so considerate about making it the short and simple ceremony that we wanted, really listening to our wishes. She even made a visit to our home not only to meet us but to see how everything would be set up for a surprise wedding since the guests thought they were coming to a Cinco de Mayo party. She was a big part of the surprise and our guests loved her too. Reverend Patty is a very special person and I would recommend to anyone to give her a call. Her caring ceremony was the best and so is she!

We met Rev. Spicer originally through the internet, we spoke on the phone a few times and then met this gracious woman the day of our ceremony. Rev. Spicer made everything so easy for us, explaining the requirements we needed to fulfill as we are from outside of the country and gathering background information about us so the ceremony would be more personal.
On April 10, 2018, Rev Spicer married us at The Living Desert, a quiet ceremony with just 4 of us in attendance. There could have been 400 people and it still would have been exactly what we asked for. Rev. Spicer made our wedding ceremony an event that we will remember very fondly in the future.
Thank you so much for being such a lovely lady.

Patty was incredible! She’s very organized and ready to go. We told her how we wanted the ceremony to be about US, and that’s what it was. All of our guests said they cried and because during the ceremony they knew that we were meant to be together. And that was all because of everything Patty does to make sure your wedding is the best! Reverend Patty delivered a heart felt and wonderful ceremony. Despite never having met her prior to the rehearsal, she personalized our event by sending out lists of questions for both the bride and groom to complete. The reposes made for a very fun and intimate wedding.

My Wife and I are very pleased with our decision to use Rev. Patty Spicer to officiate our Wedding. Patty took the time to meet with us as a couple and individually to help us develop our Exceptional Wedding. She was very helpful in providing us with a number of options and special wedding rituals to help tailor our Wedding to meet our unique needs and desires, while still maintaining the traditional core activities. She was very professional and made herself available whenever we had questions or needed clarification about the order of the procession or legal processes. My husband arranged for a two part “surprise” for me on our recent trip to Palm Springs for our 37th Anniversary. For the first part of the surprise, he booked a tour of the Elvis Honeymoon House and as we were leaving - (2nd part!) we were met by the lovely Rev. Patty Spicer, who performed an amazingly touching Renewal of Vows Ceremony for us! Her ceremony was warm, heartfelt, personal and meaningful to us both; it was truly exceptional! The ceremony was also particularly poignant to me, as I am a wedding officiant in another state and pride myself in creating personalized and unique ceremonies for each of my couples as I feel that the ceremony is the “heart” of their day! Rev. Patty, thank you for capturing our love and life, you managed to made us laugh and cry, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect person to perform our ceremony! Without a doubt the best decision my husband and I have made. On a short notice and quick to reply, Rev. Patty Spicer made our dream come true. Surrounded by our families and close friends she delivered the magical, romantic, and intimate ceremony we both have always wanted. She kept us laughing and smiling the entire time for our pictures. She is AMAZING!!! She was the first and only person I contacted to see if she was available to officiate our wedding on a 2 month notice (4th of July weekend). Talking to her on the phone and meeting her in person we were sure of our selection. She's very professional and so loving. She got to know my husband and I and we live out of state!! She is quick to respond and with her added touches to our ceremony made everything perfect! Everyone in attendance loved it!! Thank you Rev. for everything!!!!

Our wedding was truly exceptional because of Rev. Patty. She made the ceremony so personal, intimate, and turned it into a unique, joyous celebration between two people who have finally found their soulmate. Emotions poured throughout the ceremony which has left each guests' heart filled with the same passion as the newlyweds. There were tears of joy and laughter throughout our nuptials, what a way to inaugurate our beginning. Our wedding was perfect! We highly recommend Rev. Spicer!

We are a retired couple from Germany " snow-birding in the Coachella Valley. Insp[ired by our love for each other and the beauty of this area,we decided to renew our vows.

Searching the internet,we found Rev.Patty Spicer and were so pleased that we did..
Just talking to her made us feel at ease and comfortable. Rev.Patty was so thoughtful helping us with humor to overcome our language barrier. This very special intimate ceremony was held in a beautiful park. Suddenly it started to rain---Rev. Patty was even prepared with an umbrella,and the three of us huddled together to finalize our readings !

We will always saver and think of this wonderful time as our journey continues .
Rev.Patty is a great professional,sensitive,loving an warm individual.
We will always honer her,and we recommend her for other couples who want to renew their vows

Reverend Patty exceeded our expectations with both the service and her professionalism. We will highly recommend her to both family and friends. She performed a very personal wedding ceremony for us. Everyone at the wedding thought that she had known us for years, rather than just a few short weeks.

We had so many wonderful comments about Reverend Patty after our ceremony. Tons of our guests told us that it was the best wedding ceremony they have ever attended. Her ceremony was personalized to the two of us, which made it very unique. There wasn't a dry eye in the house by the end of it!

Rev. Patty was all we had dreamed of in a celebrant and more. We didn't have to worry about a thing, she organized everything and was very helpful in answering any questions (particularly seeing as we are from Australua and were unfamiliar with the U.S. Wedding process). We have had so many compliments on her ceremony with guests saying it was the most beautiful ceremony they have experienced. We are so glad we went with Rev Patty and would highly recommend her to others.

We loved Reverend Spicer, we were so happy with the ceremony she developed for us. Our wedding was just me and my husband, so without the right Reverend it could have felt too casual or sterile. We did not meet in person, but Reverend Spicer took the the time before the ceremony to get to know us via email, find out what the experience we were looking for and really personalize the event. It was the right length of time and had many special moments. It had exactly the level of gravitas a wedding should. It was intimate and sweet, and just how we dreamed the moment would be.

Prior to actually having a wedding ceremony, I did not realize how important having the right Reverend is. We found Rev. Spicer via Google, and frankly lucked out by finding her. Having now gone through the experience, I know the wrong person would have given the wrong tone and seriously marred our special day. Thank you Reverend Spicer!

So many words can be said about Rev. Spicer, and how amazing our wedding was because of her service at our wedding. The customization, flexibility, special ceremonies, verses, and ability to capture the moment are only a few things that make her perfect for a wedding. What my wife and I both agree on, is that no other officiant would have been better. How are you supposed to feel when the majority, if not all, guests come up to you and say something in the words of, "This is not just one of the best weddings I have been to,... but the CEREMONY was the BEST I have ever seen". Many couples will have some of the best ceremony experiences ever if you have Patty Spicer at your wedding. Period.

If you would like your ceremony to be exceptional, look no further than Rev Patty. Our ceremony was both touching, sweet and completely personalized with Rev Patty. All of our guests raved during the entire reception about what an absolutely beautiful and amazing job she did. From our first meeting with Rev Patty and our phone conversations regarding our ceremony, she created our ceremony with all the personal details and touches we were looking for. She also included a beautiful certificate and our complete ceremony in calligraphy for us to cherish forever. I would give Rev Patty 10 stars if I could!

Rev. Patricia Spicer created a very personal service that a all of our guests commented was the best they've ever attended. It was warm and full of love and appropriately the best part of our wedding. She made the effort to commute to Joshua Tree for us and was full of great advice leading up to the day. I would highly recommend her to any couple.

My wife and I were planning to elope, but decided after some consideration to include our parents and siblings. I mentioned this because our ceremony was very intimate, just 10 people. In this setting the caliber of your officiant must be second to none. Patty proved to be up to the challenge. She was proactive in her preparations, staying on top of us, making sure we responded to her inquiries and gave input. Her price was fair and she was not afraid to offer honest advice and consult for all aspects of our day. This led to a ceremony perfect pitch in both emotion and humor. Patty was as much a part of our special day as our family was and we highly recommend her.

Rev. Patty was the perfect person to officiate our very small wedding. We arranged it at the very last minute and this did not phase her one bit. She was extremely knowledgable about the process and walked us through each step. This was especially helpful as we are not Americans and don't fully understand the bureaucracy in this country yet. I was able to talk to Patty in depth about what we wanted from the day in terms of location, flowers, photographer and budget and she absolutely delivered on this and more!!! On the actual day she was great- romantic, thoughtful and fun. She was an integral part of making it so special and we couldn't have done it without her. Highly recommended.

We cannot say enough about Rev. Patty! She was beyond wonderful and such a joy to be with. After our first meeting, we knew we wanted her to be the one officiating our ceremony. She is a true professional and her experience goes a long way. During the wedding planning process, our communication was frequent. We knew that Rev. Patty was planning OUR perfect ceremony. Her attention to details and completely gaining an understanding for our vision was top notch.

At first in the planning process I did not realize how important it would be to completely enjoy the person that is performing the ceremony, but I can without a doubt say, that Rev. Patty was perfection for us.

We have received compliment after compliment on how special and unique our ceremony was. Our guests truly got to know our love story and were completely engaged. All of our family and friends loved how personal, meaningful and touching the ceremony was. Rev. Patty takes great pride in her what she does, and it is completely evident to all involved.

Reverend Patty Spicer officiated our wedding ceremony Oct 27/2012 in Palm Springs, California. I had originally intended to have a family member perform our Ceremony, and a week before the wedding, that plan fell through and I had to scramble to find someone to do our wedding. I believe everything happens for a reason, and this case was no different, we were SO lucky that Patty was available. She enhanced our wedding day exponentially.
From our first phone conversation, I felt that I had known her for years. She is incredibly endearing, and warm. Patty took the time to get to know both my fiancé and I, learned about our love story, and weaved these parts through our ceremony beautifully.
Patty was with us every step of the way and ensured that the ceremony reflected who we are as a couple. When the ceremony was complete, I had multiple family members snapping photos with her and exclaiming to me how much they loved her and that it was the BEST wedding ceremony they have ever attended!
As for the details, I highly recommend Patty’s Rose Ceremony; it was beautiful and so meaningful to us. She also performed the hand tying ceremony, which was gorgeous.
For all of you brides out there, I completely and genuinely recommend Reverend Patty Spicer. You will be so pleased with her professionalism and her presentation. In my photos, I noticed that she is smiling in every shot – she truly loves what she does and it shows!

When we finally decided on how we wanted our wedding ceremony to be presented, we realized it was not going to be easy to find somebody who would fit our unique image and requests.
We came across Patty’s webpage that promised an “extraordinary custom ceremony designed exactly as you want it.”
From the beginning, Patty showed great interest in our desires to create a unique and spiritual experience both for us and our guests. She was able to incorporate some traditional elements found in most weddings with our cultural expressions that invoked a sense of awe. She worked gracefully in a ceremony that contained Aztec dancers who were an intricate part of the blessing. At times, she even did this in Spanish!
Her personal touches truly did exceed our expectations. A creative personal story from our interviews caused us and our audience to laugh and cry. Her work warranted comments such as: “I really liked when she told your stories” to “I’ve never seen a reverend do all that. That was cool!”
We watch the videos and look at the pictures almost daily and think of how blessed we were to have had Patty conduct our ceremony. Thank you, Patty, for giving us a lifetime of special memories.

Reverend Patty Spicer truly lives up to her company's name. I never expected my wedding ceremony to be as special as she made it. She works with her clients (bride and groom), and personalizes the ceremony to fit the religions, customs, traditions of each person. I am extremely happy with her work. I highly recommend her "Rose Exchange".

Rev. Patty Spicer provided us with an unique and special wedding custom to us and us alone. We wanted a casual luau themed wedding, with a non-denominational ceremony. She wrote a ceremony about our love story. Perfect for us.

From the very first communication with Rev. Patty I knew I wanted her to marry us. She is a very sweet lady and has a knack for making you feel special.
Planning our small, intimate, and personalized ceremony was fun, Rev. Patty made it so. Our guests were so impressed with our ceremony and how personal it was. My favourite part was the questions my husband and myself privately answered prior to the ceremony and the answers revealed by Rev. Patty during the ceremony - how special!
We would most definitely recommend her to all brides and grooms looking for the perfect ceremony!

Reverend Patty was extremely professional and displayed her experience and knowledge while preparing and conducting our ceremony. She performed a beautiful and unique ceremony - we could not have asked for anything better! She wrote our "love story" based on questions we had answered separately. It was absolutely perfect and described our story in a fun and loving way. Our friends and family all commented how the ceremony was special and memorable - and nothing like they had witnessed before. We absolutely highly recommend Reverend Patty as a wedding officiant!

The officiant is not really something my wife and I thought very much about at the time. We both knew we wanted someone non-denominational as my wife was of a different religion, but that was about the extent of our thoughts going into looking into an officiant. We thought we would just meet with an officiant and that would be it, they would show up do something they had scripted and we would be on with it. Rev. Patty Spicer woke us up when we met with her. She took the time to know the both of us personally, and really made the ceremony very intimate for the both of us while still being able to share ourselves with our family and friends at our wedding. The readings were all carefully chosen with who we were, traditions were taken accounted for, and new ideas we never would have thought of were introduced to us. We both wanted our ceremony to reflect who we were without keeping one family out, so we opted to not include many traditional wedding ceremony pieces from each side, but instead opted with a hand tying/fasting part of the ceremony, which we both believe allowed us to make it very personal as the colors we chose symbolized our relationship together. We never would have thought about doing something like this without Rev. Spicer's assistance. Another idea we loved was the personal questionnaire. She sent us off with some homework, we had a questionnaire to answer, the first five questions we were to answer together, while the last five we both would answer separately, and would find out what each other had answered the day of the ceremony. It kept both my wife and I in anticipation of the big day, and it felt amazing to find out how we answered, how similar the answers were, how much we knew each other, and how much we loved each other. Because of Rev. Spicer, we believe deeply we wouldn't have been able to have a ceremony as personal as this. She really helped guide us into making our wedding ceremony one of a kind.

Rev Patty, was a great. She was able to put together a very touching ceremony even though we did not actually meet until a few days before the wedding. She was flexible with some of our stranger requests and made that wedding very special.

We had the pleasure to work with Rev. Patty in September 2014 when we hired her as our officiant for our spiritual non-denominational wedding in La Quinta, California. We began working with her approximately a year before our ceremony and it was seamless from the start. Rev. Patty spends time getting to know the bride and groom, learning about what they value as a whole and how they envision their wedding day – with many intricate details noted. All of which she uses to build a ceremony that speaks to you as a couple, and encompasses the friends and family that surround you on a very important day. As we were Canadians coming to California for a destination wedding, there were many things that were unfamiliar to us – adding to the stress that already exists planning a wedding. Rev. Patty continually made herself available, answering questions and guiding us on the legalities associated with the marriage ceremony. She further offered to help in many other ways, such as referrals to several other vendors! Through her professionalism and warm heart – it was evident that Rev. Patty truly loves what she does. We couldn’t have been happier with the role that Rev. Patty played in our wedding and the ceremony she performed. It was moving for all involved and the feedback we got from our wedding guests was that it was incredibly unique and a wonderful ceremony to witness.

We worked with Rev. Patty for our wedding in Palm Desert this summer. We are a Canadian couple and almost all of our communication with Rev. Patty was via email. She was very informative on the process to obtain a marriage license and the steps to take after to ensure we had what we needed for our marriage to be considered valid in Canada, which was especially helpful! Rev. Patty really tried to get to know us as a couple and included our personal story in our ceremony, which created a relaxed, funny and personalized ceremony that our guests (and we) really enjoyed. I was a bit anxious right before the wedding as we had not received an outline for the ceremony and I think if we had, I would have made a small change or two, but overall, Patty brought it all together.

Let me preface this review by saying that Rev. Patty Spicer provided us with a very lovely wedding ceremony that we received numerous compliments on (including from our videographer who said it was the best he had seen). It is clear that Rev. Patty takes great pride in her ceremonies and I am sure that any issues we encountered were a reflection of that fact that creating the perfect ceremony is Rev. Patty's priority.
That being said, my husband and I do not think that Rev. Patty was the best fit for us. We wanted a non-religious but spiritual ceremony that was fairly simple and wouldn't feel too contrived. Unfortunately, rather than feeling like we had a positive and supportive relationship with Rev. Patty where we could openly communicate, we felt like we were often butting heads with her and felt pressured to make choices that would create the best show for our attendees. For example, we were asked multiple times to confirm that we really didn't want any mention of God in our ceremony. We also felt pressured to choose a ritual for the ceremony when we hadn't wanted one (which on the day of, I'm sure was quite beautiful, it just wasn't very "us"). In one email correspondence Rev. Patty even asked me if I truly wanted to "flaunt our living together and having sex at our wedding ceremony" in response to an ambiguous answer I had provided to her questionnaire (which was a misinterpretation of my response on her part, but nonetheless I found offensive and inappropriate). She also had notable problems with her email such that we would have to resend emails multiple times to separate email addresses to make sure she would get one, and were often unsure if she was waiting on emails from us or not. Altogether, although she created a beautiful ceremony, we hope that similar minded couples find this information helpful in choosing an officiant that is the best fit for them.

Patty Spicer was one of the worst experiences with my wedding planning! My (now) husband and I took a loss of $275.00 (our deposit) because this woman was such a headache to deal with. We had planned a very small ceremony. At first, Patty was very kind and professional. I thought we chose the best officiant since her reviews are mostly 5 stars and she had a lot of experience. After about a month of planning, she became increasingly rude. She has a temper and snapped at me a few times when I turned down her add-on rituals to her ceremony. On her website it states she customizes and designs the wedding exactly how the couples want. Not true—she criticized who I wanted in my ceremony and it was like pulling teeth with this woman. She tried to dictate who I could have and couldn’t in the ceremony. I broke down from the stress she was causing, as she made it so much more difficult for me to plan. My final straw was when I asked Patty if we can meet up because all of this was done by phone, I figured I had already paid this woman I should at least try to keep the peace because I didn’t want to look back with a sour taste in my mouth when the big day came. Patty reluctantly agreed to meet me, she didn’t seemed pleased about that either. I read reviews that she offered to meet with other couples before they started planning, she never offered that with me. When my fiancé came home he saw how stressed I was. I expressed how difficult she was becoming. It was weeks of dealing with her poor attitude. He called her the next morning and cancelled. As hard as it was to lose that money, a HUGE weight lifted off both of us that day. I’m am so happy we didn’t go with Patty Spicer. Funny thing is, we mentioned to our wedding Dj that we canceled our officiant and they asked if it was Patty Spicer. We said, “Yes.” They said they worked with her before a few times and she was horrible to work with. Talk about a blessing in disguise. We dodged a bullet!
