I brought my gown for my son’s wedding at Amelia’s. Wedding was on May 13,2022, I got so many compliments on the gown. The bridal salon was a pleasure to work with. Marie and the two other ladies were so helpful with the selection to pick the right dress . The alternations were done wonderful. I highly recommend Amelia’s Bridal Salon in Yonkers New York

Love them!

The ladies at Amelia's Bridal were amazing to work with. They are very talented and their level of experience shows in their customer service and their work. They were extremely sweet and helpful. My wedding was postponed twice due to Covid, which was very stressful. The staff always kept a positive attitude when keeping in contact with me. My mother also purchased her mother of the bride gown from Amelia's. When it came time for us to go back for fittings, we were so grateful for the way they treated us. My dress fit like a glove! We were very happy with everything and wish we could do it all over again. We hope to be back at Amelia's for more events in the future

Dream Dress!

The staff at Amelia's Bridal is nothing short of amazing. They are so sweet and helped me find the perfect dream dress for our October wedding. They truly made my vision come to life. Found my dream dress here!

I am so grateful for Maria and her staff at Amelia's bridal boutique! They made the whole experience of wedding gown shopping so much fun, as well as easy and relaxing. When I described what I liked, Maria knew exactly what I was talking about. She immediately grabbed gowns that were me. I also loved that she didn't pressure me in any way. I was able to make the best decision for me. I ending up falling in love with the most beautiful gown at Amelia's Bridal the first time I went! And it was very reasonably priced (a bonus)!

Maria was great at communication and scheduling fittings. They were ready every time I arrived and made me feel so special throughout the entire process. I can't recommend Amelia's Bridal Boutique enough! Thank you!

Love this shop!

I couldn’t be more grateful that I found Amelia’s in my search for a dress shop! Maria and her staff were so warm, friendly and accommodating. They made me feel like I was the only bride in the world. Very flexible when scheduling my fittings and by the end the dress fit perfectly. I only wish I had a reason to go back!

My wedding was 9/15/17 however my experience with Amelias began back in July 2016. And from my very first appointment to my very last, I had a wonderful experience. I honestly don’t know how there are any negative reviews about Amelia’s or even the staff. I have not one single complaint. Maria was absolutely wonderful! I am extremely indecisive and Maria was soo patient with me! She always gave me her honest opinion and made sure I was 100% happy with each and every item I chose for my wedding day. When I had to schedule my fittings, she always remembered I was off from work on Wednesdays! When I first picked out my dress, I tried some belts but did not actually order the belt that day and when my dress eventually came in and I was ready to decide on a belt, Maria remembered the exact belt I had tried on & liked 8 months prior! With all the brides she has, it’s amazing how she’s able to remember such details about each bride! And the prices were very reasonable! Yes, it is a standard set price for alterations for wedding gowns but it is not like you are forced to have your alterations done there if that is not to your liking. Maria, Rosa and Tina made my bridal experience so enjoyable and I can’t thank them enough!

From our first visit, the staff at Amelia's was top notch! They helped my daughter choose a most beautiful wedding gown and accommodated her needs (she lives out West) by doing her fittings in just the week before her wedding. Unheard of elsewhere! And, they gave her all the time and attention she required. The result was magnificent! As the mother of the bride, I, too, was very pleased with dress I chose. Thank you, Rosa, Maria and Tina!! I highly recommend Amelia's!!

Amelia’s is an OUTSTANDING bridal boutique. This was my last stop on a very long search for my wedding dress and they had exactly what I was looking for. More importantly, the women who work there are amazing! They don’t pressure you like some other bridal shops and they have a great sense of what the bride is looking for and what the bride wants out of their wedding dress. Many times they sensed what I wanted vs. other people’s opinions and helped me make the best decisions for me and do what would make me happy! I loved my dress and Maria at Amelia's. I grew up in NY and had moved away, but my mom still lived there, so on a trip home we looked for a dress. I knew nothing about gowns except the general look I wanted and just explained this at Amelia's. I tried on 3 dresses with my mom and the 3rd one was it! I felt beautiful and totally pictured myself walking down the aisle in this dress. I was so quick to choose my dress I kind of freaked out I chose too soon, but I did love it and that was the dress. Maria also suggested a beautiful belt to go around the waist. Further, I'd originally thought I didn't want a veil, but then decided on one. It was perfect and delicate. An amazing match to my dress. I loved it and was so happy I chose it! It looked beautiful in photos! (I had considered going into the city, and trying Kleinfelds, but you had to pay for a consult, and their dresses started a bit above my budget, so I didn't want to be disappointed when they showed me something I definitely couldn't afford.) Amelia's had been recommended by my best friend/matron of honor as well as my cousin. I lived in Colorado and my wedding was destination -- in California. So, there were a few logistics to work out after I chose to dress. They were great! The shop was easily able to schedule me in when I came into NY for trips for the fittings. They also sewed an embroidered piece of handkerchief that I'd had made in memory of my mom who passed away just a few months before my wedding. Amelia's also beautifully packed up the dress in a carry on case for the airplane. (I was too scared it would get lost if I checked it, and didn't think there'd be a place to hang it and it may get ruined). I was so happy I went with Amelias and the experience was perfect!

THE BEST from start to finish! My mom and I came into the boutique after booking an appointment over the phone. We came into this experience already having been burned elsewhere, so we were a little on edge. Maria was very sympathetic to our situation. We were very clear about the budget, what I was looking for, etc. and Maria couldn't have been sweeter. She came out with four options, all of which I was more than satisfied with, loved, and had a hard time choosing between them. Maria gave me/us more than enough time to sit with each dress and think about which one I couldn't live without, offering her opinions when needed. We felt very comfortable with her and felt no pressure whatsoever. Maria and Rosa has been very accommodating re: fittings and very honest about every aspect. They've been very good to us and we are so blown away by the beauty of my dress, headpiece, and veil. Thank you so much for such a great experience!

Had a great experience from beginning to end. Maria and the staff of Amelia's was great. My 1st visit to the shop was very pleasant, Maria asked what I had in mind for dresses and my price range. I was shown many different options and proceeded to try them out. The dresses were beautiful and I found a gorgeous sweetheart Maggie Sottero gown. The alterations were fantastic, my dress held in place the whole night. Highly recommend Amelia's Bridal for a great experience, beautiful gowns and knowledgeable staff.

I got my bridesmaid dresses at Amelia's and they all came in on time without any issues. Some of my bridesmaids also did their alterations at Amelia's. The price for alterations was reasonable and fair. Amelia's is in a convenient location and was able to accommodate my requests on how I wanted the dresses to look. I would definitely recommend Amelia's!!

Maria and Ro are the best! An amazing experience from start to finish...no stress! Maria was so helpful and patient with helping me find the right dress and offering her expertise...good selection of dresses, affordable price, great service, alterations turned out excellent, very responsive....can't beat it! I loved Amelia's Bridal .. what a pleasant experience .. I was always worried about having a strapless dress because of it falling or having to keep pulling it up as i saw with most brides at weddings i have attended !! my dress fit me like a glove !! i never once adjusted or pulled it up and it was a strapless sweetheart top .. The seamstress work on my gown was pure perfection !! My veil was beautiful - i added some pearls & more embroidery on it & it was done so perfectly !!

I love Amelia's Bridal. Before my wedding I had been a bridesmaid a number of times and was very impressed by the selection and quality of what Amelia's has to offer. The girls who work there are wonderful, warm, helpful and knowledgeable. I knew I would find my wedding dress there and wasn't disappointed that the first dress I tried on (with help from Maria) turned out to be MY dress!

On the day of I got so many complements on my dress and how perfectly it fit. My bridesmaids also looked beautiful and had all gotten their dresses at Amelia's. I recommend this vendor highly!

Forget any negative reviews you ever see about Amelia's! Everyone was wonderful. From our first meeting they remembered me. I was always treated with respect and professionalism. Their selection is wonderful. They are a small shop but I went to larger and they didn't compare at all to Amelia's. Loved my dress, loved the fitting process, loved the finished product. Everything was ready on time with time to spare (and I planned my entire wedding in 6 months). I highly recommend Amelia's!

I give Amelia's a 5 out of 5. While I was searching for vendors, finding the right place to get my dress and my bridesmaid dresses was the hardest part! I read some terrible reviews including the ones for Amelia's. I went into Amelia's and although they can get very busy, Maria was the nicest person I met in the hand full of bridal shops I went to. The others wouldn't even greet me when I walked in but Maria did. I read the other reviews for Amelia's and I think some people are just way to hard on people. Most of the complaints were about her ordering sizes bigger than the actual size. I think this is the smartest thing ever!! If you're ordering a dress 7 months from the event, why would you order your exact size? You get it bigger just in case, and you can always alter it. I had 9 bridesmaids and one junior bridesmaid and all the dresses fit fine, I had a few complaints but for that many girls, it worked out fine. I bought my dress there as well and I needed a few fittings and I had to adjust the top more than one time, but that is mostly because of my shape but they accommodated me and made sure I felt comfortable in my dress. They are a little on the pricy side but it's ok to spend a couple of extra bucks for a piece of mind! Thanks Amelias and Maria for everything and making me and my girls look great!

Personally, I didn’t care if I got my dress at Kleinfeld’s or a boutique. All that mattered to me was that I loved the dress! I wanted something original but traditional. I went to numerous wedding dress stores but as soon as I walked into Amelia’s and saw my dress on display I just knew! The women at Amelia’s made me feel like I was family, there is just a very personal feel about the boutique. After, ordering my dress of course you wait months before it actually comes in. But, when it did I immediately received a phone call. And to my surprise when I came in for my first fitting the staff remembered everything about me; where I was getting married etc. Little details big wedding factories don’t care about.

I went back for numerous fittings and picked up my dress the day before my wedding. Also, I have a very hectic schedule and Amelia’s worked with for every single fitting appointment. My dress was altered to perfection and steamed, pressed and stuffed perfectly! Amelia’s Bridal Boutique comes highly recommended, their service was impeccable!

I really enjoyed my experience at Amelia's. I went in with an idea of what kind of dress I wanted, and Maria completely turned me around to exactly what I should have been looking for. She ran the appointment so well in having me try on a variety of dresses, letting me talk about what I liked and disliked, until we found the perfect one. She was so responsive by email in letting me set up fitting appointments that way. I found the prices to be what you would expect - this is probably not the place if you are looking for a cheap deal. The alterations were a flat rate which I appreciated and though the pricing was fair. The only small issue I would point out is the seamstress' hours are limited so there was some work around in scheduling appointments for fittings, but the location was so convenient I didn't mind too much. They have a great selection of wedding and bridesmaid dresses. My mother in law got her dress here too and was really happy with it.

Thank you to Maria and her staff at Amelia's bridal for all of your hard work! I recall going to Maria in tears after visiting 5 boutiques and feeling overwhelmed in finding the perfect dress. Maria took the time to get to know where our wedding venue was, our theme, our colors, and overall look I was trying to achieve for our wedding day! With all of my ideas, she hand picked the dress that was made for me on my day! After selecting the dress (although I was hesitant as it was not something I pictured myself in) It was absolutely breathtaking. I felt so beautiful in it and would have never thought about this dress if it wasn't for Maria's help. The bridesmaids dresses were also hand picked by Maria. We all looked amazing and She was such a pleasure to work with! My husband fell in love with me all over again in that dress! We have been going to Amelia's for years and my family and I had gotten all of my formal dresses for every event from them. I did not get my wedding dress from them only because I had something complete different in mind. However, they did do all of the alterations including creating a unique temporary backing for my dress. They are incredibly sweet and helpful with great ideas! They even did a great job with my custom alterations for a great price! The only reason I gave a 4 for flexibility is because as life time clients of theirs I feel they could have been a bit more flexible with my accessories and girls gifts (girls gifts I did not purchase their because it was just too expensive) Also, there was a big misunderstanding, mistake, and stress about the girls dresses. They did not admit to a mistake but they did quickly fix it without charging my girls to fix it. Lastly, the cleaning and preserving service is EXTREMELY expensive, however, I would not trust anyone else but them with such an important dress! All in all, it was worth it and I could not be happier with my dress and hair accessory.

I got my dress for my 11/14/15 wedding from Amelia's Bridal and they were absolutely the best! Maria helped me from day one. She helped me pick out my wedding dress and my bridesmaid dresses. She was knowledgeable and patient. They even offer a service to come on your wedding day and help you get dressed which I did and It was VERY helpful. Maria arrived early and stayed late - she helped me get dressed and came prepared in case anything went wrong. They did a great job and were so helpful from start to finish!

I loved my dress. The alterations came out great. They were so easy to work with throughout the process. However, the only negative is that I feel that there was a lack of communication when it came to ordering my dress and final payment. When I ordered my dress I did not put enough of a deposit down but was not told that my dress would not be ordered until I put down more money. The dress came in on time so it wasn't a problem. At the final payment, I was not told I had to bring in cash and the alterations were not added to the final total and instead were written on the side of my receipt. On the day before my wedding, when I had a lot of other things to do, I had to find a bank and withdraw cash and also come up with more money for the alterations. Despite this, I was happy with the results of my dress and would recommend them again but would recommend to other brides to ask questions and get the details.

This bridal shop is one of the few in Yonkers. I decided to go there as my first bridal shopping experience. Everyone in the shop was pleasant. It is a very small shop and not many options. It is definitely not the place for a fun experience. The consultants are very straight to the point. I told them my price point (1500) and immediately was told there weren't many choices. Although it wasn't a miserable experience, it wasn't that I envisioned.

I went to Amelia’s after finding out they carried Maggie Sottero. Overall the experience was fine. We were greeted by Maria, who asked a few questions about budget and style, and then pulled a few dresses. I tried on four dresses total, including a couple Maggies, one of which I really liked. The major downside of Amelia’s is they don’t allow photos. I wasn’t surprised, since others mentioned this in reviews, but I went shopping five places total, and every other allowed photos. Ultimately I think this hurts the shop, since the photos I took at other stores were one of the major factors in making my decision. After I left Amelia’s, I could barely remember anything about the dresses. I was able to track down my favorite online to look at it more, but I felt like a criminal sneaking a picture of the tag and the dress during the 30 seconds I was left alone in the dressing room. The shop is small and my appointment was fairly short (40 minutes). It felt like the selection was small too since after the fourth dress, Maria pretty much said that was all she had for me. But Maria was very nice and even offered to discount my favorite dress since it was slightly over my budget (maybe they do this for everyone, but it was a nice gesture). Ultimately I found my dress elsewhere and found pictures were critical in making that choice.

I loved every dress I tried on at Amelia's Bridal. I could have easily picked one of five different dresses as my wedding gown. The dress was more money than I would have wanted to spend, but I thought it would be worth it. Alterations were also very expensive, along with the hairpiece I bought from them, and the veil.
When I came in for my dress fittings, they weren't totally responsive to what I wanted. When I said I wanted the dress a little longer in the front, or tighter around the bust, they would push back and argue with me a bit. I had to be forceful to get them to do what I was asking for.
The dress I wore was truly beautiful. I have only two complaints about the dress. The first is the bustle. When in my last dress fitting, I knew the bustle wasn't strong enough to hold the long train of the dress. In another example of Amelia's employees arguing with me, they said it would be fine. Sure enough, I did one dance with my dress and the bustle came completely undone. I ended up carrying my train for many dances, and spending way too much time trying to get the bustle to stay up throughout the night. The most frustrating part of this was that in pictures, you can see the tool clearly, dragging along as I walk or dance. The tool ruined the pictures taken during my father daughter dance because it is such an eyesore.
The second complaint I had about my dress was the way the bust fit. In my second to last dress fitting, when I bent over, you could clearly see the cups they had sown into the bust of the dress. I told them this looked horrible and needed to be fixed. In my last dress fitting, it was better but still a problem. They assured me they would fix it for the day of. Sure enough, in pictures where I am leaning forward, you can clearly see the cups.
I would use them again because the dress was stunning, but I wouldn't want other brides to go through the problems I had with the bustle and bust on their wedding day.

Made mistakes with essential components of attire ( color/style of sashes) & charged wedding party for corrections. Dresses weren't in on date promised (2weeks difference). Purchased 8 bridesmaids dresses & bridal gown spent over $6500 & was harassed about a $30 bra insert that was suggested by shop! Money hungry & petty!

While the ladies are nice- be careful. They do not tell you everything and then you are stuck. If you must buy your dress here fine, but if you want a bargain- LOOK ELSEWHERE! They are OVERPRICED and honestly not worth the money! THEY charge WAY to much for alterations. They are very inflexible and not at all willingly to work with brides- even though you are spending 1000's of dollars with them. My advice- Go to Russell Bridal in Linden NJ. They have a better selection AND their alterations ARE FREE! honest to goodness FREE! I didn't pay a penny except for my dress!

Amelia's bridal ordered all the bridesmaid dresses for my girls about 6 sizes too big. One of my girls is a size 6, come to find out they ordered her a size 12. I don't know if they did this to try and get more money off of her for alterations but she ended up having her grandmother hem the dress anyway. I found that very unprofessional and shady. Everything seemed fine the last fitting and when they picked up there dresses...the day of my wedding not one of the girls dresses fit them properly up top. My mother had to run around (like she wasn't stressed out enough), putting pins and that fabric oops tape in the back of there dress to keep it up. I don't know if when they steamed them something happened but we were all unhappy. My mom called to complain and they "didn't understand how that could happen" The whole thing was very fishy to me. I wouldn't recommend them. The price of alterations is ridiculous also. All my girls were skinny, there was no reason to order them a size 12 for a size 2 girl...unbelievable

This was my first time ever looking for a dress and I was excited about the experience. However, I was disappointed to say the least. I asked for a seat for my mother who is a much older woman and they stated they didn't have any chairs but when I went to the back to use the rest room there were a stack just laying there. I was only shown dresses for a 3k budget and was told "this is all we have in your price range". I was there for less than an hour and felt rushed to get in and get out. There was no sweetness or pep you would expect in a bridal store. She never asked me my name, what i was looking for or what my concerns were. This was not not the experience I hoped for and will not return.

No one should have to go through what we did. Spend your time, money, and emotions elsewhere for your big day.

When the dresses arrived, all had to be hemmed and 3/5 had to be let out. We were frustrated that they did not fit, especially because we asked to size up for comfort. (To give you an example, I wear a 4P regularly. I tried on the sample 8 size and it fit perfectly. Given that it's a sample and samples stretch, I asked them to size up and they ordered a 10. Unbelievable that that wouldn't fit.) At that first fitting, the assistants were defensive and suggested twice that all three of us had gained weight. At the second fitting, the hemline was still too long. We again left the dresses there (1 week before wedding).

When we go to pick up the dresses, there was a rip in one of the dress's seams. The material around the zipper of another dress did not line up. When we complained and asked them to fix it, the assistants AGAIN were defensive, blaming us despite the fact that we had not touched the dresses since the second fitting.

Through all of this, which included a lot of anger, frustration, panic, and fear, the assistants at Amelia's Bridal berated us for gaining weight (which we did not). They REFUSED to offer any sort of discount. We had to pay for all the alterations despite one dress not being shortened on time; we had to take it to an outside tailor.

More than the money aspect - no one ever offered an apology or acknowledged their own mistakes. Mistakes happen. People are willing to forgive you for them. But when you berate them, try and deflect the blame, and refuse to try and make make the situation right...that's when you lose customers and they turn to the Internet.

No one should have to go through what we did. Spend your time, money, and emotions elsewhere for your big day.

My experience started off on a promising note. Being slightly overweight because of illness I was limited to the amount of dresses I was able to try on. My requirements were a dress to cover my surgery scar and that I would be able to wear comfortable n supportive bra. When the dress arrived it was snug , my scar showed and I had a challenge to find a bra that worked with the dress. I was defeated. At the very first visit I was assured that the dress would be perfect for me to wear to my daughters wedding. It was not. After several visits n try ons. I begged for the seamstress to let out the dress and remove the boning. Three weeks before the wedding they finally agreed I was right. The dress fit better but the bra situation was a mess. I told them to take left over beading and place on the bra strap to blend into the low back of the dress something I did not know until the dress arrived months earlier. The dress is a beautiful gown but it was never the one for me. I would have appreciated if the owner was honest at the very beginning and would have suggested another stylist. In the end the bead work placed on the bra was just plain inadequate. On the day of the wedding I was very troubled n disappointed with the style and fit. Buyers beware. Don’t be fooled by all the gaity that you are greeted with - remember everyone is out to make a dollar

Mrs Corbett, we are sorry that you were unhappy. I do recall the bra was a challenged after you had purchased the gown because of your surgery. We added the lace piece to your bra in the back and you and your daughter both approved of it. I do not know what happened when you put the gown on the day of. Also, at the last fitting your scar was not showing. If so we would of tried to fix that problem. The main problem was the bra because of the underwire. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience. We did try to accommodate you as best as we could. Also, you stating Buyer Beware is not fair.

Stay as far away from these con artists, theives and frauds, Maria is so unprofessional , lazy and can't be bother to keep the same story of her lies or to correct their lies. They lie and cover up their mistakes. Rosa and Maria are both con artist who will make any promise to get your deposit. They are two lying theives who will make any promised to get you to buy a dress, than change their stories, pull a bait and switch during the alterations. Run as fast as you can stay away Amelia's bridal

I'm extremely disappointed in Amelia's Bridal salon. I ordered a bridesmaid's dress that was extremely wrinkled when I picked it up - and rather than offer to press it for free, they wanted to charge me $15.00. I'd never recommend their services due to their inflexibility and poor customer service.

I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt & ignore the horrid reviews they have on google. I saw that Amelia's carried the designers I was looking for. As a diligent shopper I called to see if they had any bridesmaids’ gowns on hand so I may see them in person. I called & they had 3. I was thrilled as they had the 1 I wanted to choose, BUT wanted to make sure I liked it as much in person. As for the flower girl dress they didn't have the exact dress I had wanted for my niece BUT they had some from that designer. I made an appointment.
I travel 45 minutes down to the store to meet my sister(bridesmaid), my niece (flower girl, 4 yrs old), my nephew (ringer bearer, 18 months) and 2 other bridesmaids to look at the dresses. I walk inside speak to an individual. A minute later she informs me that they sold 1 of the samples that I had requested to see. NO APOLOGY! She showed me 1 dress she had & it was an alternate that I had chosen. When I asked about the 3rd dress they said they had, she told me they sold that one too. NO APOLOGY again. I look on the floor & there are garment pins all over the floor. I inquired who the person was who took down my information that day on the phone. The individual there wouldn't tell me.
Not once did I receive an apology for them selling the dresses and not informing me. The appropriate thing would have been for them to notify me prior to my appointment that the dresses were not available so I did not waste my time & effort to come down & look at 1 dress! Not to mention APOLOGIZE for doing it. I walked out.
I WILL NEVER EVER do business with them. They couldn't pay me to buy from them. I will be posting this review wherever I can. Every social media site, Wedding wire & whatever other websites I can find. My bridesmaids will be doing the same.
Godspeed if you choose to do business with these horrid individuals. I wonder if they moved from Mt Vernon in hopes people wouldn't realize who they are. Shame on them.
