Fun and ever lasting wedding ceremony!

I felt so comfortable and happy with Father Joaquin officiating and celebrating my wedding. We laughed, we cried and married!
He spoke English and Spanish during the wedding ceremony which made everyone in my family feel welcomed and a part of our union.

Father Joaquin was amazing and did a great job at our ceremony. He even went to both our rooms to make sure we were ready and on time. He made the ceremony very interesting and not boring at all, he was very interactive. It's been 8 days since our wedding and I don't regret hiring him, he was the best choice I could have ever picked for this special moment.

Father Joaquin is the absolute best! From the first time I spoke to him over the phone he had me laughing. He has such an amazing way of making you feel at ease which is especially important since you will most likely be a big ball of nerves on your wedding day! He made our ceremony very personal by incorporating our little love story and our guests really enjoyed that. I could hear people laughing all throughout the ceremony because he has the charisma to reach that many people! And also I really loved the blessings he gave, it really felt like it was tailored to our needs!!! Call him and see for yourself :)

Father Joaquin Perez was wonderful as the officiant for our wedding! I knew from the first phone call I made to him that I wanted him as our officiant. We wanted a traditional religious ceremony with a modern twist and Father Perez was perfect for this. He brought a bit of traditionalism and mixed it with a little humor to break the ice and make everyone more comfortable and relaxed. Everyone at our wedding absolutely loved Father Perez and I got complemented on the ceremony the whole night. Father Perez was a hit and I would definitely recommend him to all of my family and friends!

There are not enough words that could describe how Father Perez made our wedding absolutely perfect. Father Perez was booked on the day we planned our wedding, he was the Priest we wanted to officiate our wedding. My lovely bride called Father Perez to check his availability on our date, he apologized and said he was already booked and wouldn’t be able to make it. We called other priests who were available, it wasn’t the same we knew we wanted Father Perez, from the time we spoke to him over the phone, sense of humor, warmth in his voice and heart you could sense right away this was who we wanted. I had nothing to lose, I called him back and said there is nobody that could replace you, we are willing to change our wedding timeline to accommodate you if you would be willing to come, he agreed!

Father Perez raced from Hollywood, FL to the Ritz Carlton, South Beach Miami Saturday June 11th to officiate our wedding. To us this was the most important ceremony/ celebration in our life, it was very important to my Fiancé and I that we had the person we both agreed on to marry us with the most loving heart, who was passionate and be the one to unite us in our vows while delivering the blessings of God. Father Perez was actually the highlight of our wedding he not only touched my wife Stacie and me, but many others as well. Father Perez has the best personality & sense of humor, the Padre had our guest in tears laughing along as the ceremony progressed adding humor, touching thoughts, inspiration along with words of wisdom for us as we joined our lives together. The most touching moment is when Padre Perez included my 17 year old son into ceremony seamlessly, it brought tears to everyone eyes including my son as Father Perez united us as a family. We can’t thank Padre Perez enough, he will be forever intertwined in our memories and lives going forward, along with God’s hand over us Father Perez made our wedding day perfect! Thank you Father! Father Joaquin came recommended from my venue (The Cooper Estate). He performed an amazing wedding ceremony. Although we did not meet until the day of the wedding, we spoke a few times via email and phone and he was always very responsive. He performed some sections of the ceremony in English and in Spanish, perfect for my Cuban family, he even threw in some Italian (since my husband's family is half Italian). The ceremony was simple yet heartfelt, and even managed to be hilarious. He had everybody laughing and crying! He captured what my husband and I loved about each other and incorporated that into our ceremony. He made sure everybody left with a smile and even took the time to mingle with our parents and some guests. I would highly recommend using Father Joaquin, he made our ceremony a truly beautiful and memorable one.

Father Joaquin is just amazing! He officiated our wedding in November 2010 and did such a wonderful job that when it came to baptize our son this past year, there was no doubt in our minds who we wanted. He's extremely professional while being very personable and friendly. Look no further.. He's the best!

Fr. Joaquin performed the most beautiful wedding ceremony for us. It was genuine, heartfelt, simple and funny. He handled everything perfectly and soothed both of our nerves. He had everybody laughing and crying! He understood what I wanted perfectly from the get-go. Our wedding ceremony was bilingual and included everybody, perfect for Miami. His ceremony had sweet and romantic parts as well as emotional moments, he took a moment to remember my late father and all of the special people in our lives. He made sure everybody left with a smile and even took some time with me and my husband after to give us advice and wish us well. We will remember him forever.

Father Perez performed our wedding ceremony at The Palms Hotel and Spa in August and his ceremony was absolutely perfect! We do not live in the Miami area so we had not had an opportunity to meet Father before the wedding day, but he took the time to learn about us as a couple and we felt like we were married by someone that had known us for years. My husband's family are Spanish speaking and my family only speaks English, however, he was able to prepare a ceremony that included vows and readings in both languages so that everyone felt involved and included in the wedding! I wouldn't change one single thing! -- absolutely AMAZING!

Father Perez is highly highly recommended for weddings. We had our wedding on 7/31/15 at the Palms Hotel and Spa in the gazebo and Father Perez was our officiant. We met him six months prior to our wedding and he just left such a warm and caring impression to play such a vital role in our wedding ceremony. He is the perfect officiant.....very personable.......and will forever leave a wonderful memory of our special day in our hearts..

I speak Spanish to my, now husband, and he speaks Italian to me. Father Joaquin did the ceremony in both Italian and Spanish. The very special touch was that he had my husband say his vows to me in Spanish and led me to say mine in Italian! He is absolutely wonderful, soulful, personable, funny and responsive. Father Joaquin was such a perfect fit for our wedding, and my husband and I are so happy he was available to be our officiant for our very special day.

Prior to the wedding, Father Joaquin was very easy to talk to. The ease of which we were able to get in contact with him for any questions or concerns we may have had with the ceremony was very important to us. He was always available to soothe the nervous bride.

Being that my family is from Spain, it was important to us that we be able to incorporate our traditions into the ceremony of "Las Arras" (the coins) and "La mantilla". Father Joaquin was on board!

The ceremony was the best part of course. Father was able to officiate our ceremony in both English and Spanish, making sure that everyone who attended understood. This was a big plus since we have people that only spoke Spanish at our wedding, and others who only spoke English.

The ceremony was beautiful. Father was very humorous and made everyone feel very relaxed. He has a way of drawing in the crowd as only a great speaker can. All of our guests made it a point to mention to me how great he was! We are so thankful to Father Joaquin for officiating our ceremony for a love that will last a lifetime.

I first met Father Joaquin at my uncles wedding at Royal Ballrooms, he did an outstanding job! When I got married (4+ years ago) I used him for my outdoor wedding at Douglas Entrance and he was also great (all of my ceremonies were in Spanish, but our meetings were in English and I understand he is fluent in many languages). I recently baptized my children so I immediately contacted him, again. At this point, he is our "family father". We use him for all of our events and we know what to expect. The value is great because like all things in life, you get what you pay for. He has always been professional, fun, and on time. I would recommend him to anyone! I took the time to write this review because he really deserves it. Best of luck!

Father Joaquin was amazing! From the moment we met him at mass we knew we wanted him to be the one to marry us. He made the ceremony extremely special by incorporating part of our lives and culture into it; everyone was involved and that made it extra special. We couldn't imagine having our special day without Padre Joaquin with us. He was very cooperative, flexible with his hours and always available to answer our questions. Father Joaquin was great; I have never heard so many complements at any wedding, on how great the officiate was. All the details of my wedding were wonderful, but I still get compliments about how wonderful and thoughtful our ceremony was. Father Joaquin was charisma, wit, a professional demeanor, and a overall spiritual presences. He took his time to speak and our wedding didnt feel rushed or short. It was just GREAT. We were so very pleased with Father Joaquin when he married us at the Sonesta Hotel. He was prompt and very professional. The ceremony was in Spanish and English which was perfect for my family. He customized it from our previous conversations. He made me feel at ease even though I was really nervous.

Since then, Father Joaquin has become the family priest. He baptized my first born and will baptize my second next week! He has been there for our family in happy and tough times. He is a great spiritual leader.

We found Father Joaquin through wedding wire and contact him about our wedding in November 2013. Father Joaquin was a pleasure to work with. He was prompt, professional and fun!

As the big day approached, Father Joaquin communicated with us by phone ( he is flexible, can be reached by phone, email, text or in person) and we talked about how we would like the ceremony to be and our history as a couple.

My Husband (Then Fiance) being not very religious was apprehensive about having an overly religious sermon. I always wanted a blessing from a spiritual leader and both our families being Spanish Catholics Father Joaquin was the perfect choice!

The day of the ceremony, Father Joaquin was professional and prompt, was funny, he made us and all of our guest laugh, provided the sermon in parts English and Spanish and pleased our Catholic Family members as well as our less Religious guest. He kept it fun, short and interesting.

WE were so happy with him and our guest were RAVING about how awesome Father Joaquin was.

He made everything so simple and a couple days before the wedding he ran through the whole ceremony with us so we felt very comfortable about how everything was going to turn out. Father Joaquin helped to make my wedding ceremony exactly how we imagined it to be. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and he even incorporated a Greek Orthodox tradition for me since I was baptized Greek Orthodox. Padre Joaquin gave us an original touch on our ceremony. He did an outstanding job keeping it beautiful and funny at the same time. A lot of our guests asked us about him and said that he was really good. He even talked in the ceremony about us and how we met and what we think about each other.

Father Joaquin was simply amazing. He performed an absolutely beautiful ceremony that brought out tears and laughter. My husband and I were married in Coral Gables, FL(destination wedding) we were fortunate enough to happen upon Father Joaquin Perez early enough in our planning process to secure his services for our wedding date.

Our first real meeting with Father Joaquin was 2 days before the wedding, I had only spoken via telephone before with him. We both knew within five minutes that we had made the right choice in having him officiate our wedding ceremony. He was well-organized, amicably professional, and listened to our thoughts/concerns while providing great feed back. Exactly what we needed.

We were looking for someone who seemed capable of delivering a seamless presentation. He eliminated any and all worry from the entire process - allowing us to relax and focus on each other. Through thoughtful prepping and communication, he helped us to create a beautiful ceremony that accurately represented us as a couple and we couldn't be more happy with the results.

Father Joaquin speaks many languages but he doesn't speak Vietnamese. Yet.....he was willing to learn a welcome in Vietnamese for our service! We felt nervous not having a true Catholic wedding in a church but he made us feel comfortable and provided readings that helped make our families comfortable. Our guests commented on how funny he was and he adds personal touches about your wedding throughout the service. He helped make it a memorable ceremony! Do note that he's more responsive by phone than email.

Father Joaquin was great to work with. We spoke on the phone a few times before the wedding and chatted briefly before the ceremony and our guests wouldn't have known we never met him before our wedding. He provided some great entertainment (throwing the rest of the flower girl's petals, wearing a pair of the white wayfarer glasses given out to guests, saying "Good Job" to my husband after he said all the vows and making me kiss him on the cheek after kissing my husband). He even greeted our Brazilian guests in Portuguese - a very nice touch that I know they appreciated. He was the perfect choice for our wedding.

Father Joaquin was AMAZING!! He made our wedding ceremony fit us perfectly!! He was fun and casual - just like us :). We are not super religious, but were both raised Catholic, and Father Joaquin did a wonderful job of tying in our Catholic roots without it being overwhelming. He did a great job talking about "our story" and really made the whole ceremony very personal and heartwarming. We had a bilingual group of guests (as my husband is from Chile), and he had great ideas to help us work with that. I did my vows in Spanish (my husband's native language), and my husband did his vows in English (my native language), which was really special for us, and brought lots of guests to tears. Father Joaquin was wonderful, and I would recommend him to anyone!!

We had an excellent experience with Father Joaquin. He was very responsive, respectful and accommodating leading up to our wedding, and made our ceremony feel extremely personalized. The ceremony lasted 25-30 minutes, the perfect length in my opinion, and did not feel short or rushed. His services are a little pricey, but well worth it.

As a destination bride, it was very difficult to find the perfect officiant. We searched for a priest near our wedding venue and came across Father Joaquin. Using other reviews on weddingwire, we were confident that he would deliver. We had an initial telephone conversation and I felt very comfortable with talking to Father Joaquin as if he was a Father of the church I grew up in. I sent a bio of the bride and groom (us!), and how we met. On the day of the wedding, Father Joaquin performed a beautiful ceremony of uniting us as one. I recommend Father Joaquin, everyone enjoyed the ceremony, with tears of joy and laughter.

Easygoing and entertaining.

I loved working with el padre Joaquin services.
My husband and I, very much appreciated his job on the most important day in our lives - thus far.

He is serious about his role as a father, but also fun to work with. He made our familes, and friends laugh and everyone commented positively about the ceremony.
He does just what you ask of him, and makes the whole process very easy for you.

I Highly recommend him. Just make sure he receives all the paperwork and anything else he asks of you via email, etc.

Father Joaquin was great. He has obviously been officiating for a while and knows how to not only make the ceremony special but fast too. He was very funny and every guest I talked to mentioned how great he was. I also liked the fact that he makes the ceremony very personal. He sat down with the bride and groom before the ceremony to ask about our story, about the proposal, and a few other personal things, and incorporated them into the ceremony. My only negative comment is that he can take days to weeks to reply to some of your emails (which isn't that big of a deal but can be slightly frustrating). Overall, great priest, I would recommend him.

Father Perez was great. He's a bit pricier than others but very professional and it was nice to be able to perform a catholic ceremony. He was on time and given we had a sunrise wedding and he drove from Miami to Boca at 5AM, we were very happy.

Father Joaquin ceremony was nice, it was on time and as we expected it had a few special details that everybody loved and we will remember forever ; BUT there is a huge fail that Father Joaquin did in a moment that he shouldn’t … He forgot completely the details that we spoke with him, almost a month before the wedding during our meeting in his office . The situation was during the ceremony ; It was pretty bad and uncomfortable one when Father Joaquin whisper to the Groom on the moment when the bride was entering the Church with her father if the ceremony will be in Spanish???; The Groom was in shock and quick respond that it was clear during the meeting ‘BILINGUAL’ … Apparently or looks like Father Joaquin forgot we specified him in the ceremony planning- meeting that it will be bilingual; we even said that should be more parts in English and just a few segments in Spanish . Well Father Joaquin forgot it and did the question in the worse and inappropriate moment
Additionally to forget the points we specified in the ceremony meeting; Father Joaquin also needs to take more care of reviewing his emails, or returning calls on time; we had a very difficult experience waiting for Father Joaquin reply or call back with an answer to our questions.

The ceremony itself was very special and fun. Father Joaquin made everybody laugh and broke the ice making it very unique. However, Father Joaquin is not a very easy person to talk to, I found him very arrogant when trying to finalized details, he said to me that brides always ask him silly questions such as "what is he going to wear". I understand he does this on a regular basis but brides always have questions and expect him to assist answering those instead of making them feel silly. I also heard some comments from some of my guests who tried to talk to him after the ceremony and he ignored them, my mom said that all he cared about after the ceremony was the money. A little dissapointed with his behavior.

I picked Father Perez because he spoke French and I needed to have a bilingual wedding. He was good and my guests liked him very much. However, he was very nervous and although his French had been good and conversational over the phone and in person, he was not so articulate at the wedding. I also felt like he was not very well organized as he kept shuffling papers during the ceremony. We had a beach-front wedding and it was very windy, yet he forgot the torch, so we could not light the candles.
Conclusion: I would have liked someone more organized, although finding such a person who speaks French in South Florida may be asking too much

We were calling Father Joaquin for months, everyone said he was the best. Once he finally committed, it took more contact calling to get him to send us the paperwork. Literally were still calling asking him to send us paperwork a week before the wedding. He never got it to us, and as a result my husband was filling it out day of the ceremony and texting me an hour before the wedding asking for adjectives to describe each other! At the ceremony, he totally got huge details wrong (because he didn't try to get to know us) and we literally had to say 'no, father we met 10 years ago- not 4. Super embarrassing. I wish he had shown a little more effort, it was a special day for us and very clear we were just a paycheck to him.

He was 30 minutes late. He proceeded to tell my coordinator that he wasn't late and when she showed him the contract, his response was he doesn't look at that... His tardiness cost me $$$. I also felt that he rushed through the ceremony and forgot to dedicate the ceremony to my great aunt who had recently passed. The dedication would have meant the world to my family.

One good thing about him was that he was funny at times.

Father Joaquin arrived on time and early to our ceremony, which was greatly appreciated. We met with him twice to go over our ceremony preference, style, and to personalize it. Let me just say that he uses one script for all ceremonies and all it changes are your names, 7 generic adjectives you tell him about each other and let me say something here: 30 minutes before my ceremony he DID NOT have our story and "personalization" with him so he came up to ME, the bride, already nervous to walk down the aisle, to have me look up the email where I promptly had sent weeks before my wedding. I felt like I was just another paycheck to him and the ceremony, although funny and enjoyable at times, was rushed and incredibly fast. He was invited to stay through the cocktail hr and my father later told me he was fishing for a tip - my dad, at his own daughter´s wedding, did not come prepared with cash or a check. He felt like he left with arrogance. He then later came up to me to say goodbye, and he bursted saying "apparently nobody liked the ceremony" probably referencing the lack of tip. This was a terrible thing to do and say to me. Overall I do not think he is the worst but our day could definitely have gone better. I have assisted another wedding of his where the ceremony was calm, not rushed, and great to my eyes.

Unbelievably unreliable

First, he almost never responded to any of my emails after I reserved my date. I'd have to call him to remind him to send me emails with information that he volunteered to do, but never did. Second, communication was horrible. I had no concrete idea of what my ceremony would look like. Every time I called him he barely remembered who I was or when my wedding was, which was a big red flag. He did not show up to the rehearsal. Third, day of the wedding, he shows up late. He seemed very flustered and obviously did not look at any of the things I wrote for him until that moment. Our ceremony somehow also started leaning more towards Jewish traditions, when my husband and I explicitly asked for more catholic traditions, which could have been addressed had he showed up to the rehearsal. He also started telling jokes, which did not land because it really just wasn't the appropriate moment to freestyle it. My biggest issue, however, was the part when he forgot to actually sign our marriage license, but remembered to take a champagne wedding favor that was for my guests. This was completely unacceptable, as my wedding was out of state and could have created a huge issue had I not known in time. I wish that I had read/there were more reviews for fr joaquin because it would have saved me a lot of stress. Do yourself a favor and find an officiant that actually cares about marriage.

Unacceptable last minute cancellation

My husband and I got in contact with Father Joaquin 5 months before our wedding and paid for the 50%, 3 days before the wedding we contacted him, he didn't have scheduled our ceremony. We wanted a bilingual ceremony since our families speak different lenguajes, as a last minute solution he suggested his church partner who was holding a book to read all the ceremony and didn't even could pronounce the words in English. We had to pay the same amount of money $800 not even a discount was considered for us. the fact that we did not have Father Joaquin as we were prepared after many calls with him, could cause a big issue in your wedding.

This is not a real Catholic priest. If you think you are getting married in the Catholic Church, or by a Catholic priest, by being married by this man, you are mistaken. You can only be married in the Church by going through a Catholic parish and fulfilling the Church's requirements! This man is a fraud. Do not be deceived by him, unless you are looking for a pseudo-Catholic wedding, that is. On his website he even says he is "NOT affiliated in any way or form with the Roman Catholic Church."

I'd like to begin by saying that this was a nightmare and don't want any couple getting married to go what me and my wife went through. He didn't show to the rehearsal and said an email with instructions was enough.

The wedding day came and I arrived with my groomsman at 2:45; ceremony was at 3:30. He arrived at 3:00 as he said over the phone to sign papers prior and set up. At that time while i was taking pictures with the photographer he came close to where I was at and stared me down. I went up to him and greeted him and he did not look happy. Apparently I had put 3:00 on the contract as the start time. I apologized for the mistake made and he rudely answered "this does not work this way and he would not be able to do the mass and he will be leaving." In disbelief I asked him that this could not be true. He said he had a contract in hand and his duty was to be there from 3--3:30 and he had another 3 weddings to do after mine. I asked him to please put the contract aside and think as a human being; he said that this country works this way. I had to walk away in complete pain and my family began asking that this was not true, that this could not be happening.

He then said he would wait 15 minutes. The bride was called and rushed over. He did not allow my mother's dream of walking me down the isle to the alter. He did not let the ceremony go as planned; made myself an all the groomsman stand at the altar so as soon as the bride arrived she would walk straight in. Her bridesmaids, mother and sister were following behind and were not part of the first 5 minutes of the 10 minute ceremony. He called my wife by a different name the first 3 times he called her name until a family member had to correct him in the middle of the ceremony. Of course the whole ceremony had to be simulated again for the pictures because the beginning of our day was a catastrophe. This man is doing his job for the wrong reasons.
