Rick was nothing short of brilliant in bringing our wedding vision to life at the Mellon Auditorium, creating an absolutely magical setting that left our guests in awe.
The arrangements and decor were stunning, with every detail perfectly executed and thoughtfully curated. We shared our ideas with Rick, and he not only understood our vision but elevated it beyond what we could have ever imagined. The entire space was transformed into something truly breathtaking!

worth every penny!

Rick and the Amaryllis team did an incredible job making our wedding day beautiful. definitely pricey but worth all of the money at the end of the day. absolutely gorgeous florals, designs, and floral wall! Rick is a true artist and works with you to make the day absolutely beautiful! our dream was to have a memorable floral wall and Rick worked with us to make it beyond our wildest dreams!

Amaryllis was wonderful!

I didn't personally have much interaction with them as my wedding planner and mother took the lead on the flowers/decor - but everything was absolutely stunning, and they were very accommodating in putting together multiple proposals for us to make sure that we stayed within our budget. Super professional.

The flowers were beyond beautiful - especially the bridesmaids' bouquets which were almost iridescent - so pretty!

Going to their warehouse for the decor meeting picking out the flowers/tables/lighting/etc. was one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process, too!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Christopher! He is a true artist! He has impeccable taste and was able to bring our vision to life seamlessly. The quality of the flowers and the inventiveness of the props made our day unique and beautiful. Their props are unparalleled in the industry. He listened to all of our ideas and was able to deliver exactly what we had in mind at a level that we had not ever imagined. He was flexible and wonderful to work with--always wanting to make sure that he was responding to our budget and providing us with the look that we had intended. They are clearly the best florist in the Washington area and we can't say enough good things about how they made our day so magical and beautiful.

You cannot go wrong with Amaryllis. I am still in awe of how incredibly beautiful my wedding ceremony and reception were, and it was because Amaryllis created the most beautiful decor with unparalleled attention to detail. They are very easy to work with and have such great decor ideas and are worth every penny!!

Amaryllis provided the decor and flowers for my wedding to my husband in November. Let me just say that we were all blown away and the guests still have not stopped talking about the wedding! They are so wonderful to work with and really create the most magic of looks. We could not be happier to have worked with Amaryllis on our special day and if we can give you one piece of advice: Run, don't walk, to hire Amaryllis for your wedding!

If you are looking to have someone make your fairytale wedding dreams come true.. then look no further than Rick from Amaryllis. He is the best in the industry and talented beyond belief. Rick is creative in every sense of the word and can turn a simple suggestion or idea into a truly magical sighting and experience. His attention to detail and unmatched expertise in aesthetics will never disappoint. Rick created the most stunning floral designs and structures for our 300 person wedding and I still look back at pictures in disbelief of the beauty of the event! Working with Christopher was one of the best parts of wedding planning. He is creative, fun, and has exquisite taste. The flowers for my wedding were breathtakingly beautiful and I could not be happier!

Nick from Amaryllis did the most amazing job with our wedding. He really took my vision and made it elegant but contemporary. He transformed our venue into a magical place and the flowers were exquisite. The wedding bouquet was more beautiful than I could have even imagined. He did a really tasteful job and I couldn't be happier to have had him decorating our venue. People raved about how beautiful everything was and it was all because of him and Amaryllis!

Amaryllis was easy to work with and easy to trust. They did a wonderful job pinpointing my vision and then taking it to the next level. They designed and built a gorgeous outdoor ceremony for us, and afterwards decorated a black-tie indoor reception space. My favorite piece was the doli, to which they added a beautiful personal touch, and which they afterwards delivered to my family as an heirloom for future weddings. Their escort card display for the reception was stunning and was even better than I had dreamed. They made our wedding extra-special and we so appreciate the care they put into the weekend.

Amaryllis blew it out of the water with the flowers and décor for our wedding. We had an amazing focal point bar that was tufted all around with a mirrored top. We had awesome lounge furniture with throw pillows, mirrored tables, high top tables, etc. Our flowers were out of this world with a mixture of low and high arrangements and our guests are still raving that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to. They made sure to execute our vision perfectly and Christopher was super creative in his décor and flower design. They were very professional, accommodating and even I was taken aback by how wonderful everything looked. It was beyond anything I could have possibly hoped for. I would absolutely recommend them to all my friends who are getting married!

We used Amaryllis for our wedding in Washington DC on October 18, 2014. They provided, not just flowers, but also many key design elements since we essentially transformed a number of the spaces at the Hay Adams hotel into venues for our reception, sit-down dinner, and Top of the Hay dance club! To say that they performed amazingly well would be an understatement. The flowers alone were breathtaking in each of the rooms that we used. The other design elements allowed us to completely make-over the rooms that we used. It has been over a month since our wedding and our friends and family still can't stop talking about how wonderful the event was -- in no small part to Christopher and his amazing team. If you are planning a wedding or any other large event, and you want a high-end result, we strongly recommend Amaryllis.

Our wedding was just this past weekend and Amaryllis made it a visual masterpiece which tremendously captured the loving emotions of the evening.

After exploring many florists, we contracted with Amaryllis to do the flowers and decorations for our wedding. We allowed over a year before our wedding to do the planning. We met with Christopher and started the planning. Visiting Christopher in his office made it clear we had made the right choice from the very beginning. Amaryllis is not just a florist. They are artists, designers, and planners. We immediately noticed that Christopher and his staff uses flowers and so much more to create an amazing visual experience.

We told Christopher at the very first meeting what our dream image was. He assured us he and his staff could create it. We toured his huge warehouse and watched his designers creating artwork for other events.

Admittedly, we went through many iterations of our contract to come up with the final design – adding and subtracting, changing our minds and exploring different ideas. Simran, Christopher’s assistant, was so patient and helpful throughout the year-long planning. She was always quick to respond and give details on feasibility and pricing on our ideas.

Amaryllis was by no means the least expensive of the options for a florist. However, throughout the process, it became clear that we were not just paying for flowers. We were commissioning artists.

On the day of our wedding, not a detail was missed. Each component of our design was meticulously carried out. Elegant. Classy. Dramatic. Romantic.

We ran into one glitch. We ordered one too few bouquets. Without missing a beat, the staff of Amaryllis created a bouquet and I never heard another word of concern. Every guest commented on the exquisite décor and the amazing artistry of our wedding.

I really loved - LOVED - our flowers. Amaryllis did a wonderful job for our wedding. We had a small wedding and Nick really helped me to add details I hadn't considered. They built a beautiful arbor for us to get married under at our ceremony site - and it was AMAZING. Everyone commented that the flowers were so gorgeous. Our centerpieces, bouquets and table arrangements added so much to the venue. Their flowers were high quality - my bouquet is still holding up rather well 4 days later. I really also loved that they looked at my Pinterest board and drew inspiration from pictures. Nick was actually the one one who really got what I was looking for, calling it "dark romance". Totally right, and they made it happen!

Wow. I spoke with Simon at Amaryllis and told him what I was looking for and gave him our budget. He worked his magic and got back to me the next day with a proposal. He included pictures of the flowers that would be used in the arrangements and even showed examples of the boutonnieres they would be creating. He suggested ways in which we could save money in our budget, allowing for more flowers. We didn't see an arrangement until the day of the wedding. When I saw them displayed around the space I was so pleased. They were beautiful. Perfect! Worth every penny!

I knew I wanted to hire Amaryllis from our first meeting. Obviously their offices are amazing and their professionalism and excellence at what they do immediately becomes evident when you step inside. But beyond that, the team we worked with: Nick and Molly, were just ideal.

I didn't have a very elaborate vision at the time we met with them, but based on just a few overarching themes, they worked with my wedding planner (speaking their own language really!) to put forward an amazing proposal. Between the initial proposal and the wedding day itself, they made any revisions requested and came to our venue walk through to make sure everyone was on the same page.

Their work on the wedding day itself was like a dream. I can't wait to get the pictures back so I can take it in all over again. They did the most beautiful hanging installation that I wish I could have permanently installed in my house!

And, as is important with all the vendors you select on your wedding day, their personality/attitude matters as well. Nick and Molly were friendly, responsive, and I always felt like we were on the same team and they were as invested in my wedding as I was.

As a couple who works in events and the hospitality industry, we have been fortunate enough to be surrounded with the beauty Amaryllis creates for a handful of years. When it came time to select a florist for our special day, Amaryllis was our number one choice. Nick was extremely helpful and flexible when it came to working with our budget. We knew exactly what we were thinking, and on the day of we could not have been happier, I even cried tears of happiness when seeing how beautiful the decor was and seeing "the vision" become a reality. Rick Davis and his staff exceeded our expectations when they designed and created beautiful floral arrangements and chuppah for our daughter's wedding. They also did her best friend's wedding recently. The will work with your budget and listen to your vision and come up with suggestions and ideas. I told Rick that he was not allowed to retire until our other daughter gets married! We highly recommend Amaryllis Inc.

Planning a wedding is a lot of fun, and a little hectic at the same time. Trying to find the best venue, team of videographers, photographers, musicians, florist etc, reading reviews, seeking your friends’ input and so on, it becomes your second job! Well, your search for a florist is over - Amaryllis Inc is it!

Greg and I had the privilege of working with such Nick Watts at Amaryllis Inc. He is an amazing designer and artist that stunned myself and all my wedding guests with his style and décor! Our wedding was outdoors at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland and could have not asked for a better designer than Nick! His down to earth personality, his style and vision just put me at ease from the moment I stepped foot at Amaryllis. He made every effort to understand us, our style and our dream wedding, and he delivered everything he promised with such grace and class! But I didn’t expect anything less, he went above and beyond to make our day wonderful, fun and quite memorable. The flowers were GOREGOUS, I felt bad to even touch them! The antique chandlers were stunning, the china, the tables, and I can go on and on! But the beauty of it is that you have the opportunity to experience that yourself! Amaryllis is such a dream to work with. They provided absolutely stunning floral arrangements. From my bouquet and my bridesmaids, to the boutonnieres for the men and altar arrangements to the centerpieces, everything looked exactly how I had imagined, if not better. Christopher has such an eye for details and within the first meeting will know exactly what you're looking for. He browsed through my pinterest to really get an understanding of what I wanted when I couldn't put it into words. He introduced me to so many flowers I'd never even heard of that worked perfectly with my vision.The whole team at Amaryllis is wonderful. Kristin was very helpful via email, she helped answer all my questions and was very friendly and professional. The day of, everything was set up perfectly and my favorite was my bouquet. I absolutely LOVED my wedding flowers, they were gorgeous!!! I was late to our first meeting and was I was upset that I would have to reschedule but he was happy to have us come an hour late and still met with us, whew. While in horrible rush traffic, I was flipping through my magazines to see if there was anything that fancied me, this was well after I had another floral proposal that I was meh about because she told me I couldn't have ranunculus flowers in September, and I saw this picture and asked him, are you able to recreate something similar in our wedding colors along with the gray greeneries and my antique glass urn vases that I provide? Absolutely! I also placed low priority on the ceremony flowers as we had to leave it behind as a donation to the church but the flowers were HUGE and beautiful! Beyond what we expected. Oh, the ranunculus? Yup, I totally got them!!! (For the men). He also took care of my rentals and recommended blue napkins with my peacock shimmer linens. It was better than white, for sure, but on our wedding day along with our purple uplighting that my DJ provided, I was so amazed how the blue napkins just WENT along with the table linens as if they were meant to be together!!!! Definitely good call, Rick!

Christopher and the staff at Amaryllis are fantastic and I HIGHLY recommend them. ALL of our wedding flowers from boutonnieres to table arrangements were perfect and their access to rentals is phenomenal. They were also very patient with my mother who asked a million and one questions and requested pictures of everything because she couldn't picture things in her head. They were also very accommodating with special requests as well. I wanted to attach and carry a family prayer book with me down the aisle and they came up with an alternate way to attach it when it turned out to be bigger than we all thought. I am incredibly happy with the services that Amaryllis provided for my wedding day and can't wait to plan something else so I can work with them again!

I love flowers and i believe that flowers set the tone for a wedding so i was very particular when it came to picking a vendor for flowers. I am beyond happy that i chose Amaryllis. Christpher's designs for my wedding were stunning. The flowers were chic and elegant. In ever arrangement every flower was perfectly placed. The flowers were extremely high quality -every flower was open and they looked good for 2 weeks after the wedding. All out my guests raved about the flowers and even see of the men asked where they came from.

Amaryllis Inc. is a great florist company to work with. I mostly worked with Chris and he is truly amazing and I am blessed to have worked with him. Amaryllis Inc. was very responsive to all my questions and concerns. They are so great to work with you even if you are tight with your budget. The flowers were definitely what made my wedding look so gorgeous. The flowers were such a big hit at my wedding that I had some guest arguing over taking my centerpieces home. I am an indecisive person that at the last minute I chose the bridesmaids dresses to be "tangelo" and Amaryllis Inc. told me to have their bouquets be some type of pink flowers. At first I wasn't quite sure if pink flowers would go with organge dresses but I had a gut feeling to trust Amaryllis Inc. So I did and it turned out the type of pink flowers the bridesmaids got as their bouquets were just a PERFECT match. My sweetheart table and the cake table were decorated so lovely that everyone was taking a bunch of picutres of the two tables. I definitely recommend Amaryllis Inc to anyone and all my friends to have them as your florist. They are amazing to work with and if you are not sure of some things...just trust them!! They have an eye for beauty and whatever your budget would be they would still make sure to have your wedding looking SPECTACULAR...that's how my wedding turned out to be. Amaryllis worked with my mother and me for my September wedding in Virginia. They did fabulous arrangements for the church that really reflected the space and season. They also worked with us to source local flowers for the reception and helped with day of moving around of the arrangements. They were very accommodating and had great knowledge of all things local and in-season.

My husband and I used Amaryllis for our wedding florist and were very happy with the end result. Our arrangements were beautiful and the bouquets were exactly what we wanted. We wanted the colors to be deep purple, red, and orange and they got our vision perfectly. Christopher was very professional and responsive. I would definitely recommend Amaryllis!

STUNNING, STUNNING, STUNNING. Rick exceeded every desire and expectation. The flowers looked incredible and smelled even better. People were tripping over one another to take some home. We had one meeting with Rick 12 months before our wedding and he hit it out of the park. WOW!

Rick and all of the staff at Amaryllis were extremely professional to work with. My daughter was so impressed with Rick's ideas that she asked to cancel all of the other florist appointments that we had set. It was to be Amaryllis and only Amaryllis. On the evening of the wedding everything was in place and more beautiful than any of us imagined and then the flowers at the reception just made the entire decor. It was a magical evening for my daughter and everyone who attended and we appreciate that Amaryllis was a big part of the magic making! Michael

Amaryllis did an incredible job for our wedding! They provided us with the look we wanted at a reasonable price. They always gave us their honest feedback and input. Specifically, they assisted us with cutting unnecessary cost while ultimately providing the look we wanted. What I especially loved about them is that they will think outside the box and will take creative liberties (if you choose to encourage that), which will exceed your expectations. I initially shared what I was thinking and they came back with concepts I hadn't thought of but that truly made the look of the room. The guests at our wedding raved about the decor! Amaryllis truly transformed the room of our venue.

They also were a genuine pleasure to deal with. They were extremely responsive and catered to our every need. A special thanks to Christopher who I feel very privileged to have worked with. He is a floral genius and I hope other brides have the pleasure to work with him as well.

This vendor did an exceptional job with our flowers. They were flexible as our details changed over the months and delivered beautifully fresh flowers. The bouquets and centerpieces were gorgeous.

Even though Rick's normal events are way out of our price range, we were upfront and gave him our budget and his first response was, you don't need to spend 50 grand to get a great floral arrangement. He made us feel comfortable and confident. His work is amazing and so unique. I told him what i was looking for and he not only made my image come to life but put his touch and consideration into the arrangement and made it more than i ever could have imagined. Our wedding looked like a million dollar fairy tale due to Ricks unbelievable and simply elaborate centerpieces. We had people asking us where we ever came up with our fantastic creation! I will use Rick for any arrangement I ever need from now on!

Nick Watts at Amaryllis was such a joy to work with. He listened carefully to what my husband and I wanted, and designed stunning arrangements for our wedding reception. I'd eagerly recommend him to brides in the region.

Expensive, but worth the price. One of the easiest, most professional vendors we hired for our wedding day.

Rick is a miracle worker! Everyone at Amaryllis was great to work with. Questions were answered right away. Rick created the most beautiful designs and was always willing to share his experienced opinion for the look of things as well as any other questions we had about planning. Everything was done so beautifully and creatively and Rick was so willing to move things around to work in our budget. Gladys is the nicest woman in the world and is so on top of all the details. We really appreciate everything they did for us!

Wow. wow. WOW. The floral and table arrangements that Amaryllis put together for my wedding were simply stunning. Totally unique. I had four-foot trumpet vases with 10-foot bamboo stalks, each of which were decorated with softly lit globes. Really breathtaking (the room was very tall so the centerpieces needed height). On the other tables were pillar vases with floating candles and orchids, exactly as I had requested. Bill at Amaryllis went above & beyond to make our day spectacular.

Between Amaryllis and Occasions, I don't think we had much to do other than taste food and approve a single flower arrangement, and they went off and made everything come together perfectly. The major guidance to Amaryllis was "hydrangeas", and they came back with a proposal to fill ten thousand square feet of house with a perfect set of arrangements. Rick was great in giving us a few opinions and then just taking what we wanted and delivering an amazing series of bouquets, corsages, arrangements and centerpieces. With everything else going on during the evening, we kept getting pulled aside for compliments on the flowers.

Before scheduling my consultation with Amaryllis, I had three separate people who do not know each other and have no biases tell me that Amaryllis is the best florist in DC. So of course, I came in with some high expectations! Christopher definitely exceeded them! The flowers at our wedding were absolutely gorgeous! I came in with some photos I found on pinterest that were all over the place, and he helped me narrow down what I wanted. We worked with them for our ceremony gazebo flowers, cocktail hr table flowers, escort card table flowers, and the reception flowers. We had three different styles of arrangements for our reception: one really tall one, a short one, and a third one that was kind of different from the other two (orchids submerged in water).

Christopher was SOOOOO accommodating and went back and forth with me several times to make all of the changes in the design and what not to work with my vision and budget. On day of, his team was there early and worked directly with our venue to schedule their arrival. I didn't have to worry about a thing! His team even stuck around between my ceremony and reception to move some of the outdoor ceremony flowers in to the reception to decorate the DJ table and our couples' table so we could save some money.

I met with 4 different florists before choosing Amaryllis. Yes there is a certain sticker shock that comes when you meet with florists. But Christopher provided the best value with the best service and most gorgeous fairy tale flowers for the best price!

Being the best in DC, of course they are REALLY busy. So I wasn't able to get evening/after work appointments or weekends. In the end it wasn't a big deal because they are located sort of close to where I work and I could go to them over my lunch break.

I had a great experience with Amaryllis and Christopher, our POC. I gave general guidance on the flowers I liked, colors I wanted, and amount of flowers, and Christopher was both creative in coming up with answers and he and his team executed beautifully. They had no problems retooling when I gave feedback at the tasting. On the wedding day, they showed up on time, and ensured everything went without a hitch.

Amaryllis Florist provided THE most beautiful floral arrangements and bouquets for our daughter's wedding in October 2013. The owner, Rick Davis, is a design genius, and he ended up working with us on more than the flowers but the entire design concept as well. He understood our vision of simple elegance, and he made suggestions for furnishings and treatments that made all the difference in achieving that vision. Rick is personable, helpful, patient and understanding, and he respects a budget, which was important to us. Although we exceeded our initial budget, it was well worth it to making all of our dreams for the wedding come true.

Loved the flowers that Amaryllis provided for our wedding. They are expensive, but Christopher did an amazing and fabulous job! I told them to be creative and do what they thought would go with our venue and I told them flowers that I liked and they made it happen. And went above and beyond what I could imagine flowers to be! They did different arrangements for each table in multiple vessels. We didn't love our trial but they fixed everything and made it perfect for our wedding. If you can budget it, go with them

Amaryllis was absolutely wonderful to work with, and I couldn't have been happier with my wedding flowers. Rick was so great, and incredibly flexible. Our flowers were gorgeous, and we received many complements on how gorgeous our table arrangements were. I highly recommend them!!!

I absolutely loved the floral arrangements Rick created for my wedding. Although we went through numerous proposals, in the end almost everything was perfect. The only thing I didn't "love" were my bridesmaid bouquets, but I think it was a lesson in learning that not every color description is interpreted the same. Everyone thought the bouquets were beautiful, I just didn't expect the color combination we received. Overall, the quality of flower, fullness of the arrangements and attentiveness to detail was amazing. The price of his services is high, but nothing matches what you get for your money. Highly, highly recommend!

Amaryllis did a fantastic job with the flowers and decor at our reception, and we were extremely pleased with how everything turned out. However, if you expect a lot of undivided attention throughout the planning of your event, this may not be the vendor for you. Overwhelmed is an understatement when describing Rick’s (my POC) schedule. I found myself a bit frustrated having to wait days and sometimes even weeks just to get a quick 1 sentence response to an email. Considering the amount of money we spent, my expectations were much higher. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the final outcome, and I would recommend their services to anyone, but I was also left somewhat disappointed about the added stress of Rick's unresponsiveness.

Rick was excellent at suggesting unique and different arrangements. People are still talking about the flowers at my wedding three years later! However, with this creativity, comes a cost--the flowers were quite expensive.

Amaryllis provided beautiful flowers for the tables and for our cake. The florist helped our baker set the flowers up on our cake and they looked beautiful. Amaryllis also set up our pipe and drape wall behind the band which was great since we didn't have to go to another vendor. They handled everything. Even delivered to multiple locations. Amaryllis is a bit pricey but, they will make everything seamless and are worth the money.

UPDATE: 1/9/2014 - I received notice this week that Amaryllis is trying to dispute my review. I verified everything with WeddingWire to prove we had a contract with Amaryllis and that this is a true and honest review. I can no longer recommend Amaryllis to anyone, this is a low blow. My trust has been lost and I will not recommend them in the future.

Amaryllis did a wonderful job for our outdoor wedding reception, everything was beautiful and we had the perfect day for it!! So why the non-perfect score? Well three reasons- First: We had three seating areas and they each had a couch two chairs and a coffee with end tables. The couches that showed up the day of “delivery” were not the ones we had picked out, and we would not have picked them out as they were a different style from the chairs. I informed the crew as soon as they unloaded from the truck, I was told the ones I was talking about “Were not in the warehouse”; really meaning they at another event… not cool. Second: We had string café lights installed across part of a patio, when I informed the crew that were two low, they didn't really care too much as it was 10 pm and they didn't make a big effort to raise them. In the morning when the flower/setup crew arrived (Different Crew) I let them know we were not happy with the lights and ask them to raise them again, and they did, but they were still very low. Third: The next day the Amaryllis crew removed the string lights, when they did they broke a handful light bulbs… and to my surprise when I got to the house the following day I noticed they did not clean up the broken glass! With dogs and little ones running around outside…. I really expected more from such a high rated company. As for the flowers on the tables, they were beautiful; all the arrangements were really beautiful. Would we use them again, yes, but I would make sure EVERYTHING was spelled out in our contract.

After meeting with Christopher for our initial consultation, I felt very confident hiring Amaryllis as our wedding florist. Unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. In the months leading up to our wedding, my calls to Christopher went unreturned and another staff member typically responded to my emails. On the day of our wedding, what were supposed to be purple centerpiece flowers turned up WHITE, our bridal party flowers were also the wrong color, and our 6' round mirrored escort card tabled came in as a 4' rectangle. While the flowers still looked beautiful, the fact that they were the completely WRONG color was something I could not get past. Amaryllis has a spectacular reputation, and because of that, and the great amount of money we spent, I expected flawless execution. Sadly, I was very disappointed.

When selecting them as your florist know that you will get gorgeous flowers, but triple check everything! Go in person and do a pre-wedding walk through - I wish I did that, but it was never offered (even when I showed up in person with final payment) and I was not told that was part of the process.
