Absolutely Fabulous
Absolutely fabulous floral design, and a fantastic person to work with to boot! We worked with Amanda to do our wedding rehearsal dinner flowers and could not have been happier! If you've seen her work on social, you know she's talented at what she does, and I was so excited to work with her. What I learned is not only is she super talented but she is very communicative, thorough, super sweet, and just an overall dream vendor to work with. I had a hard time articulating my vision but somehow she just "got it" and the flowers that awaited me at the rehearsal dinner were even more beautiful that I could have imagined. Not only a beautiful design but the blooms themselves were gorgeous! I would rate her 100 starts if I could, 10 out of 10 recommend!!! -

Hiring Amanda Burnette was the first decision we made after my husband and I were engaged in November of 2020 because we knew there was no way our day would be complete without her incredible florals. After admiring her work for other weddings for so long, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to hire her and her work truly made our wedding vision come to life. Putting complete trust in her to make our floral design the star of the show, Amanda pulled together the most magical color palette and design, which not only complimented our other wedding day elements, but made it the most perfect, beautiful day I could imagine. Amanda is a true professional, highly skilled and knowledgeable and was the absolute best (and easiest) wedding vendor to communicate with: timely, clear, and kind, always going above and beyond to answer our (many) questions without hesitation. All we wanted was a simple but beautiful wedding but working with ABFD made it all that but also so much more. Thank you, Amanda, for making our day so stunningly beautiful. -

Dream wedding flowers!
Amanda was the first vendor we booked after deciding on our venue in fall 2019. What a deeply right, magical decision that turned out to be. Amanda initially appealed to us because of her stunning floral design and her clear commitment to social justice issues. But, after nearly two years of working together, we have realized now how valuable it is to work with someone who is passionate about their craft in the way Amanda is. It’s rare to encounter a vendor who so clearly is personally invested in her work and in connecting with her clients to create meaningful moments they can treasure for the rest of their lives.
Florals were by far the most important design aspect to us. Amanda never hesitated to indulge our questions and floral dreams with THE MOST enthusiastic, detail-filled emails a floral-obsessed bride could dream of. But what may be even more valuable than that is that Amanda was honest. Rather than just saying whatever might make us happy, Amanda was realistic if, say, because of, you know, nature, she could not promise we would get the EXACT shade of burgundy buds we stumbled upon via a random Instagram post. But she would explain what she could promise instead, and the result turned out to be more beautiful than we could have hoped for. The elegance of Amanda’s work—we were aiming for an enchanted secret garden chic Jumanji vibe—was even enough to completely distract from a very prominent design feature of our reception space we didn’t love. Her adoration of flowers and community shines through.
We have saved some flowers from our arrangements and are drying them as keepsakes. We’re so grateful to have these lasting reminders of the most special day. Thank you, Amanda! -

Choosing a floral designer for our wedding was a tough decision, but we are SO glad that we went with Amanda and her team! From the second we connected, I felt like Amanda really cared about the aesthetic that we were trying to bring to life on our wedding day. From the color palette to the flower types to the hardware, her attention to detail is second to none. She spent so much time walking through even the smallest of details with me and pulled together inspirational photos several times -- this was above and beyond and really helped calm my nerves. What's more, our wedding day flowers were gorgeous!! I asked for lots and lots of pastel colors, and Amanda and her team truly delivered. She was also sure to incorporate special requests and personal details and even made an awesome flower crown for my niece! I've gotten so, so many compliments on my bouquet; the florals were a knockout -- one of my favorite parts of my wedding. Thank you, Amanda!! -

Bouquet and Boutonniere
Amanda provided the most beautiful flowers for our small elopement ceremony at the Churchill Overlook. I literally gave her an inspo photo and told her that I trusted her vision and she more than delivered! It was PERFECT! I recommend Amanda’a floral services to everyone I know! She was truly a huge part of making my day magical and is literally so kind! -

Amanda was our florist for our wedding in October and she brought my vision to life! She was very flexible and patient with our ever-changing wedding plans due to covid. She captured my style perfectly through the flowers she used and the arrangements were gorgeous. I highly recommend Amanda! -

Dreamiest florals!
Amanda Burnette is a rockstar! Not only were her floral designs completely dreamy, but she was absolutely incredible to work with. She stayed patient with me as I asked at least 1000 questions and probably changed my mind 100 times.
Her work is absolutely GORGEOUS, and she was the sweetest soul to work with. She even handmade me and my bridesmaid's flower crowns! I am so happy we hired her for our big day! Please do yourself a favor and do the same! -

I have no words! Amanda, from the very beginning, was absolutely wonderful to work with. She felt like a friend you've known forever! She was incredibly accommodating, conscious and respectful of budget and created an absolutely STUNNING collection of florals for us that was so much better than I ever imagined. She incorporated specific things we had requested: some small succulents, touches of lavender, ranunculus, and more, but we wanted her to still have creative freedom because we know how talented she is. Did she deliver or what?! We are so thankful for Amanda and can't say enough good things about her. -

Amanda Burnette and her floral designs are an absolute dream. From beginning to end, Amanda was a joy to work with. Not only is she professional, super responsive, and dependable, but she’s also an incredibly talented and truly delightful person who clearly loves what she does and is really, really good at it. Amanda turned a couple of ideas and inspiration photos into some of the most GORGEOUS bouquets and arrangements I’ve ever seen. If romantic, natural, BEAUTIFUL flowers that look like they were picked right from the garden give you emoji heart-eyes, this is the florist for you. I cannot imagine our wedding without Amanda and promise you’ll feel the same. -

Flawless Florals
Amanda Burnette and her florals absolutely were the highlight of my wedding. Florals were such a priority for me (we even upped the budget to make visions become reality) because they have the potential to make such an impact and enhance the spaces. I knew absolutely nothing about flowers, just what colors, vibe, and textures I wanted. But it was all ok because Amanda knows EVERYTHING about florals. She translated my ramblings into something real and executed perfection. I will dream about my arbor and bouquet for the rest of my life. Our centerpieces, floral runners, detail arrangements, cake flowers just everything turned out beautifully. Amanda was such a joy to work with, so easy going, encouraging and fun and flexible. Could not ask for a better vendor for something as monumentally important on your wedding day as flowers. -

Most Gorgeous Flowers EVER
Amanda came HIGHLY recommended to us by our planner, and we're so happy we hired her. Her work was absolutely breathtaking and we received so many compliments. I don't have much vision at all, so I told Amanda general things we liked and didn't like, sent a few inspiration photos, and told her we trusted her. Dusty Blue Ribbon Dreams!
AMANDA IS THE BEST!! Amanda accepted my wedding mood boards with open arms and made my flower vision even better than I could have imagined. And to add to that we had a small budget and she did what she could to make it work. She was super responsive in emails and I loved working with her...even in the thick of the no-fun-wedding-planning-phase. In the last month leading up to the wedding I decided I wanted a long velvet ribbon for my bouquet. And oh man she delivered! She found a dusty blue ribbon that fit perfectly. A picture of the bouquet is the background on my phone...yeah she's that good! -

When she walked in with our flowers on wedding day, I almost burst into tears — they were some of the most heartbreakingly beautiful florals I'd ever seen. In addition to providing stunning flowers, she supported me throughout the planning process, always had an encouraging word, and gave excellent guidance. I really couldn't have done it without her. Emily Sent on 09/29/2018If you were to ask me what makes the perfect floral vendor, I would have had no idea what to say, but after working with Amanda, I have such a crystal clear answer. Not only is she a delight to work with on a personal level, but as my contracted partner she was communicative, unbelievably warm, and her flowers were bomb diggity. She respected my somewhat uninformed "vision" and offered so much guidance to fill in the gaps. Her carefully thought out questions and suggestions were vital, and I loved the touches she was a part of all over the ceremony and reception. I could literally gush on and on, but bottom line, Amanda is amazing and you would be lucky to have her do flowers for your wedding!

Colleen Sent on 04/19/2018It's been 5 days since my husband and I married, and I still feel transported back to the magic, fun, and romance of the day every time I look at my bridal bouquet. Amanda crafted absolutely stunning floral arrangements for our celebration.
She worked wonderfully with both me and my wedding planner to ensure a consistent design and vision for the event while still being very economical. She happily accommodated my requests that succulents and additional pops of color be incorporated into the bouquets and boutonnieres, and my fresh flower comb was one of my favorite personal touches. That she did all of this while working from Richmond (our wedding was in Charlottesville) and with mostly seasonal flowers is even more impressive. In sum, the results exceeded my expectations - fresh, unique, and ultimately beautiful. Thank you, Amanda! -

She has such innate good taste, that if you want to be more hands-off you can probably just tell her your wedding colors and let her roll, and she'll come up with something beautiful that will blow your mind. Or if you're like me, a dyed-in-the-wool Type A planner, you put together a Pinterest board with some florals you like and a few example color palettes, and she immediately understands what you're going for. She "gets it." As my wedding was in the off season (late winter), her knowledge of what flowers would be available at that time was helpful, and she checked in to make sure my expectations were in line with what she could get her hands on, and suggested additional ideas to complement the colors and flowers I already had in mind. One thing I really love about Amanda is that she's a unique and confident enough person that she doesn't have a boilerplate way that she's used to doing flowers that she'll try to slyly push you into for her own convenience, like so many vendors. If you know what you want and give her those ideas, she will make that happen and make it beautiful. It doesn't have to be the Same Old Thing in order for her to feel "safe" about doing it. On the big day, my guests loved the flowers, and I got so many compliments on them. A few weeks before the wedding, my mother-in-law also wanted to add some things to the florals we were getting including a wreath for our door at home, and Amanda accommodated those extras easily and coordinated with the wedding theme perfectly. The bouquets and arrangement that we took home after the wedding graced our tables for another couple of weeks, looked absolutely gorgeous, and kept the wedding opulence alive just a little bit longer. I highly recommend Amanda for your flowers, as there just plain isn't anyone better. -

Theresa Sent on 11/27/2015From the first time I met Amanda, I could tell that she not only had a natural talent when it came to flowers, but that she was just an overall great person and someone I enjoyed being around. This sentiment only grew with each meeting and interaction we had.
I laid out exactly what I envisioned in terms of my wedding flowers, and she took my vision and not only met but greatly exceeded my expectations. I still remember the morning of the wedding when she texted to ask if I wanted a sneak peek of the bouquets. I said "Yes!!!!" and I got a glimpse of her amazing work. That morning, every time I had little moments of stress, I would open the picture she sent over and it would help calm me down. And now, a couple months after the wedding, I still look back at the photos in awe of the beautiful flowers. To sum this up, I highly recommend Amanda. She is professional, friendly, fun, a delight to work with, and amazingly talented.

I had a unique, tropical vision for my wedding, and with just a few inspiration images from me, she perfectly delivered on my theme. She was also super flexible with our plans to make sure they fit into my budget without sacrificing the overall vibe I was going for. On top of all that, she has a lovely personality and was a treat to work with. Hire Amanda, you won't regret it!
