When planning my wedding, I knew finding the right DJ was going to be my hardest moment. I’m in that time of life where we have a few weddings a year, and you can almost certainly find me on the dance floor from the moment it opens to the last song, only leaving for bathroom breaks or to pull friends to the floor. Finding Alternative Wedding DJs was one of those serendipitous moments and I knew it was meant to be. From the website being transparent (let’s be real, a lot of vendors hide details and waste your time, but these guys don’t), to hearing samples I knew this was going to be the best decision for my wedding. Their vibe and energy is palpable, even from a digital screen. They worked secretly with my family to coordinate a surprise flashmob from my favorite movie and handled requests as if they had the ability to read my mind (yes, Rasputin Just Dance choreography came out). I’ve had the pleasure of working with Brent and other DJs on their team on a number of occasions and I can confidently say they are the best DJ’s in town! They bring such an excellent energy to your event - from weddings, corporate events, birthday parties and more.
Their playlists are always on the spot and gets the energy going, and they tailor it to your music taste and vibe of the event. They know how and when to switch up the music for the more slow & intentional parts of your event, as well as the more high energy times that you can’t help but dance to.
If you’re looking for a DJ for any event, I can’t recommend them enough! They get the job done right, have decades of combined experience, and are a great price for the value they provide. Check them out! -

Our DJ was absolutely amazing! She was professional, skilled, receptive and overall pleasant to work with. I really wanted a DJ who would do better than simply pressing play on a playlist, and Jackie went above and beyond in crafting the exact vibe that we wanted for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance party. Our DJ Brent was awesome! We gave him a pretty small playlist to work with, but he totally understood the vibe we were going for and filled in the rest perfectly. The music throughout the night was exactly what we wanted—fun, upbeat, and never cheesy.
He did a great job keeping everything on track and flowing smoothly, from the announcements to the transitions between events. The sound setup was great, and he really brought the energy to the dance floor—we had around 100 guests and it still felt like a full-on party. Brent was the DJ for a wedding I was the photographer for this year and he ROCKED it. He was so kind, professional, and ready to bring the party as soon as he arrived. I could tell he cared about making the best environment for the couple and their guests and could read the room to make for a fun dance party. A great time was had by all because of the fun Brent brought to our event. He was so easy to work with on the front end. He's a great communicator and front end pieces were seamless. During the set up of the event, I didn't even notice that he was there setting up his DJ gear. Then all of the sudden, he's throwing in a disco ball with additional lighting for a better dance floor effect. He was set and ready to throw a party without any help from me. We were having a general standard fundraising event, but with Brent's DJ skills, our fundraiser evolved into a kick ass party. People did not leave the dance floor for four hours. These are not your typical Hokey Pokey, Electric Slide, Chicken Dance type of wedding DJs. Think instead of the DJ at the underground rave where you first learned what ketamine is. Or the DJ at the gay club the night you and your friends learned *a lot* about yourselves. The DJ at the housewarming party of the person who you secretly wish you could become. That DJ? Probably works at Alternative Wedding DJs now.
DJ Angie Spence played our wedding like a bell. She spun records throughout a life-threatening thunderstorm at our mostly-outdoor wedding venue. I don't know how she did it, but she played *with* the rain. She laid down what that crowd needed to give themselves permission to dance in the rain, transforming the weather from a disaster into an asset. We got wet and wild.
DJ Riche Niche (Erin Poor) played a private party for me and some friends. The music was so good that random hot strangers came in from the street to party with us. 5 years later people are still telling me how much they enjoyed themselves and danced their asses off.

Alternative Wedding DJ did a truly amazing job throughout the wedding with timeline changes, directions to guests about locations of events, and of course, creating a playlist throughout the whole night that got even those "I don't dance" guests out on the floor. More than once guests were saying "they are playing all my favorite songs" - could not recommend Brent & Alterative more!Alternative Wedding DJ's reply:

When we started the process of hunting for our wedding DJ to bring the vibe for our reception we were immediately interested in working with Alternative Wedding DJ's. As an alternative couple ourselves, looking for a sound and vibe that was against the norm, they seemed to fit the bill. We were blown away truly by how great everything went with our process in working together. Brent allowed us a lot of creative control, and worked with us to execute the vision we had created together. I think an A+ wedding DJ experience includes professionalism, value and overall fun bringing guests together to dance and sing together. Our guests never left the dance floor due to Brent's execution and vibe that was created on our evening. Without a doubt, booking Brent and Alternative Wedding DJ's was one of our best decisions in throwing our wedding. We had DJ Ness/Elliott as our wedding DJ, and he absolutely lived up to all expectations set by Alternative Wedding DJ's. Professional, accommodating, friendly, and talented. I honestly could not imagine working with any other DJ. Almost every wedding that we have been to had a DJ that just played off of a set playlist. I wanted a DJ that did not just play from a playlist, but one that would read the room and change the song to fit the mood and get people out on the dancefloor. After a lot of searching, we came across Alternative Wedding DJs and loved their bios, especially DJ Ness’. We asked if he had any upcoming shows so that we could check out his style. DJ Ness responded back and let us know he had a show at the Green Room in downtown Omaha. We checked him out and about 2 songs in, knew that he was the one for us. DJ Ness mixed songs, took requests, and everyone had an absolute BLAST! He set the tone for the night, and we got so many compliments for his talent and his amazing MC voice. We had a couple that told us they were leaving, and DJ Ness started to play one of their favorite songs. That couple ended up staying the rest of the night because how much fun they were having! Even during the planning stages of our wedding, DJ Ness was so easy going and helpful. We had sent him a few last-minute song requests that he was able to work in on short notice. Overall, a fantastic experience and we could not imagine working with anyone else! I highly recommend DJ Ness and if I were to have any event coming up, I would hire DJ Ness again in a heartbeat! -

We had DJ Elliott for our wedding reception and he was absolutely amazing! He very professionally handled all our requests to see what kind of vibe we were aiming for, including walk in songs, first dance, spotlight dances, and speeches. His club style mix of music offered not only something different than most receptions you might go to, but it kept the energy high throughout the night. There was never a dull time on the dancefloor for over 4 hours! He even had dance floor participants asking for an encore song as the reception venue was closing! We certainly give him our highest recommendations!
