  Alts two thumbs up

  Humberto at Alts Williamsburg did an incredible job tailoring my wedding dress! He helped me to feel my most confident in my dress and did amazing work in a short amount of time. Alts is great because they have many locations throughout the city and transparent alterations pricing. Highly recommend!

  Trust Humberto with your wedding dress!

  Alts has my heart. I worked with Humberto on alterations for my intricate Reem Acra wedding dress and he listened to all my asks, offered expert advice, and did an impeccable job. I have just picked up my finished dress and I am for the first time getting emotional for the big day. Humberto puts his heart and soul into his work and he has made this process and my wedding so special. I’ll add photos after my actual wedding in a few weeks!

  Maryse at the UES location made me the dress of my dreams!

  I was recommended to use Alteration Specialist by a friend to use for my July 2022 wedding. I was assigned specialist, Maryse. Maryse was so lovely and has an incredible eye for perfection. Maryse did such detailed work on my dress and truly made me feel beautiful.
  
  After buying a Berta bridal gown at a sample sale, I needed many intricate alterations.
  Because it was a sample dress, Maryse took the dress in, fixed a few structural issues, added beading that was missing, shortened the train and added a bustle. I’m addition to all of these details, there was nude mesh that was ripped, Maryse added the appliqués from the bottom of the train (that was shortened) and added them to the damaged nude mesh-
  
  Throughout several appointments, Maryse was meticulous, kind, careful, understanding, and her work was absolutely incredible . She completely revised my dress all while adding more details to the top and back of my dress. She was patient, listened to what I wanted, gave her professional touch and never rushed the process, but focused on getting it right. My dress turned out perfect, and it was all because of her. If you are out there looking for a seamstress, do not waste your time at other places and visit Maryse at this location. I cannot recommend her enough!!

  Alteration of bride’s wedding dress and mother of the bride’s outfit

  I used Alterations Specialists on the West Side. Booking an appointment was easy. When the time came, the woman at reception and the expert tailor we dealt with were very nice and professional. The tailor was very patient. When I returned for a try-on of the tailored bride’s dress, I requested an additional adjustment, which was done well and quickly. I was very happy with how the dress came out. The mother of the bride’s outfit was also tailored and looked terrific. I highly recommend Alterations Specialists on the West Side for your wedding dress and other important tailoring. Thank you!

  After my dress I now have a new go to alterations team!

  I am so happy I found Myrna and the Alteration Specialists team in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I initially was referred to them to have my silk wedding dress (by Galvan London) altered, and Myrna did a fantastic job taking it in and hemming it as needed. It fit me perfectly. Myrna was also just a joy to visit with and I felt I could trust her for her expert opinion. After this experience she will be my go to for alterations.

  Amazing Experience (at Tribeca Location)

  I had a great experience with Alteration Specialists, and particularly Myrna at the Tribeca location. My dress had detailed embroidery and two layers and really didn't fit at the top. She did an amazing job and it fit me like a glove. Worth every penny.

  Couldn't have found a better tailor

  I got a gorgeous Vera Wang dress at a sample sale, but I needed a bustle. I was worried about taking it to just any tailor, and didn't want to go to a tailor that would cost just as much as my dress. Alteration Specialists was amazing. I went to the upper east side branch and Ornella was my tailor...she also noted (correctly) that I needed it hemmed. She was amazing. She truly has a passion for her work and it shows. The bustle was BEAUTIFUL and did so much justice to the beautiful dress...it looks amazing in pictures, and the hem also didn't take away from the original beauty of the dress. All for a reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

  Quality was not quite worth the price

  I’m editing my review because my bustle strings were falling off of my dress at my wedding. For 500$ I didn’t expect that to be an issue.

  Absolutely DO NOT use this place.

  I took a very expensive bridesmaid dress. They ruined it and now I’m at a loss of what to do other than have to buy a new one.
  
  They took in the top of the dress at just one side (vs evenly on both sides) which made no sense and made the whole dress pull in that direction. They told me they would unpick it - their attempt has made the dress messy and seam looks stretched but also they definitely haven’t put it back to how it was and the top doesn’t fit right at all.
  
  They made a separate alteration to the front part which they did differently to how we discussed and had to be altered another two times and looks also very messy and unprofessional.
  
  Given up on that being fixed as they have also shortened the dress far too much which obviously can't be fixed.
  
  They were rude and treated me like it was my fault but I was extremely specific about what I wanted. Plus they wasted my time making me go back and forth there multiple times promising to make the dress longer which obviously wasn’t going to happen. When I asked how they could increase the length, I was told it was a secret and to trust them. Each time I went back, there was no noticeable difference.
  
  They charged a fortune to ruin a very expensive dress. I’m going to have to replace it since I'm a bridesmaid so the dress is very specific and they won't refund me or pay for the replacement dress. The entire experience has been very upsetting and anxiety inducing.
  
  A friend also went and they had to replace a top of hers THREE times and still made a mess of it.
  
  Go somewhere else.
